Command Prompt vs NetBeans : Threading

hello,
I have implemented a thread which continuously check the files added/ removed to/from a folder , and prints "Message" to console.At command prompt, this works very smoothly without consuming any system resources and with a great speed.
But, when I implement this with my main project in the NetBeans, Performance is worstly slowed down.
What may be the probable cause/causes? If you have any idea about threading, please guide me. Thanx.
Regards
Nikhil

i wouldn't be too concerned; you won'tactually
run
your app from netbeans.I would be concerned! The only way this willhappen
is if there is excessive use of resources. Theonly
way we will be able to help the OP is if he
posts
his
code.it'd expect it's a bug in netbeans.:-) I do so hope you are joking!well it's trapping his input obviously, and maybe it blocks it a little, or something, forcing the thread to slow down during it's writes. or perhaps it buffers the output and he only thinks it's running slowly, or something like that.
but yes, code is a good thing to see :)

    UPDATE:
    I copied the winpe.wim file from the x86 root directory into the iso directory and renamed it to boot.wim Now, if I copy the contents to a flash drive and put it into a client

    However, when trying to use the oscdimg command, I do get an .iso successfully, but when I burn it, I don't know what to do in the way of boot options, and if I keep defaults (imgburn)
    it results in an un-bootable dvd.
    Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Don't copy and paste instead type manually it will work.

    OMG! Yes, you are correct ... but I have no idea why! I retyped the command line:
    oscdimg -n -be:\winpe_amd64\etfsboot.com e:\winpe_amd64\ISO e:\winpe_amd64\winpe_amd64.iso
    into Notepad, and then pasted it into the Command Prompt, and it worked!
    Perhaps there must be some hidden characters included when pasting directly, even though I first pasted the command line into Notepad, and then into Command Prompt
    (C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools>).
    I had to retype the command line in Notepad before copying and pasting, before it would work.
    Wow, thanks!

  • Encountering a RunTime error when I try running from command prompt

    When I try to load my class from the command prompt I get the error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: MiniTriangle
    Since this seems like a pretty basic error, I'm hoping there's a black and white solution to it. Unfortunatly I don't have the slightest idea what that might be.
    Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!!!

    I'm pretty new to this myself but have encountered this error before. I've found it happens when you try to run the programme and the class name isn't the same as the file name. So if you named the text file when you wrote the code MiniTriangle when you compile it you will get a file called MiniTriangle.class which is what you are trying to run. However if you inadvertently misspelled the class definition in the code and entered say
    class MiniTringle {
    you would get the error you are experiencing when you try to run MiniTriangle.class
    Hope this helps

  • Running a Program in JDeveloper using Command Prompt

    Hi,
    I downoladed Oracle JDeveloper 10g. I had written a simple java class called Echo. java. I want to run the file using command prompt. My JDK has the following path:
    F:\Sowmya
    My java file has the following path:
    F:\Sowmya\jdev\mywork\1\1\src\pkg1
    So, in order to compile the file, I gave the following command:
    F:\Sowmya\jdk\bin>javac F:\Sowmya\jdev\mywork\1\1\src\pkg1\Echo.java
    It worked and the Echo.class file was created.
    But, when I tried to run the file using the following command,
    F:\Sowmya\jdk\bin>java F:\Sowmya\jdev\mywork\1\1\src\pkg1\Echo
    Iam getting the following error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NOClassDefFoundError: F:\Sowmya\jdev\mywork\1\1\src\pkg1\Echo
    This didnt work either:
    F:\Sowmya\jdk\bin>java F:\Sowmya\jdev\mywork\1\1\classes\pkg1\Echo
    Iam getting the same error.
    Can any one please help me regarding this.
    Thank you,
    Sowmya.

    Yes, my class contains a main. It runs if I click run in JDeveloper. But, there is no output displayed. The following is the code:
    public class Echo {
    public static void main (String[] args) {
    for (String s: args) {
    System.out.println(s);

  • Ports not appearing in the command prompt

    Hi all,
    I have enabled the following ports in my windows 8 system using firewall. I opened the firewall.cpl and created rules both for inbound ports & outbound ports. The Opened ports are as below:-
    443, 25, 587, 143, 993, 995, 80, 3478,5061,5223.
    All the above ports are added in the firewall. But when I run the "netstat -an" command from the command prompt. The opened ports are not there.
    Can you please guide me why this is happening. I am clueless.
    Thanks for help.

    The command will only specify the active connections, not the ones that are opened.

    Write your own Thread, to do this:
    public class KeyThread extends Thread {
       public void run {
          while(true) {
             int i = System.in.read();
             if(i == 123) {
                break; // to stop the thread
    // in your main:
    Thread keyThread = new KeyThread();
    keyThread.start(); // calls run() of the thread

  • Win 2003 Sevver Command Prompt not working

    Hi,
    It seems somehow the command prompt are not working on my server and hence one of my software installation is failing on the server.
    it seems the CLI commands work fine when the Command prompt is executed directly from the /system32 dir. But when we use it from Start>run>cmd, the commands don't respond.
    For Example:
    C:\>ping
    'ping' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.
    C:\>nslookup
    'nslookup' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.
    And when I execute it from the /system32 :
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>ping
    Usage: ping [-t] [-a] [-n count] [-l size] [-f] [-i TTL] [-v TOS]

                       To see statistics and continue - type Control-Break;
                       To stop - type Control-C.
        -a             Resolve addresses to hostnames.
        -n count       Number of echo requests to send.
        -l size        Send buffer size.
        -f             Set Don't Fragment flag in packet (IPv4-only).
        -i TTL         Time To Live.
        -v TOS         Type Of Service (IPv4-only).
        -r count       Record route for count hops (IPv4-only).
        -s count       Timestamp for count hops (IPv4-only).

    Seems that you can perform these command with assign path, what I thought is this issue occurred because wrong environment variable setting.
    I noticed that you have posted the Environment Variable result here, I checked and highlight wrong values that could cause this issue. please correct it and try perform

  • How to clear the screen in the command prompt?

    Hello Everyone,
    I was wondering how we can clear the screen in the command prompt in Java. I remember we can do this in C by writing system("cls");
    What is the best IDE for writing Java programs. Is the NetBeans IDE good? Thank you very much.

    I was wondering how we can clear the screen in the
    command prompt in Java. I remember we can do this in
    C by writing system("cls");I guess there's no Java way of doing that because it's a function of the shell you're calling. If you try to use Runtime.exec on cls, it starts yet another shell, clears that, and closes it again, so it has no effect on your output.
    You could try using the '\b' backspace character, if that helps.
    What is the best IDE for writing Java programs. Is
    the NetBeans IDE good? Thank you very much.By the way you're asking this question, the answer will be almost certainly "none". If you want to, you can search this board for the few million times this question was asked before, pick all IDEs suggested there and use the one you're most comfortable with.

  • Aspnet_compiler: Command Prompt error

    Hello
    I am getting the following error when trying to compile my ASP.NET project from the Command Prompt:
    error 1001: Unexpected parameter: 'Studio'.
    The compiler on my hard drive is here:
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319, although I do have another folder here:
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319
    There is an aspnet_compiler.exe in both of those 'framework' folders.
    Having located the compiler in command prompt on that path above, I now need to compile my files (aspx.aspx.vb, and Web.config) in accordance with the guidelines here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms229863.aspx
    I create a targetDir on my PC as follows: C:\myForm, and type in the location of my project in Command Prompt. This is a
    physical path so I use '-p' and I wish the file to be updateable so I use '-u'.
    C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319>aspnet_compiler C:\Users\Steve\Documents\Visual Studio 2013\WebSites\WebSite10 -p -u C:\myForm
    This 'Visual Studio 2013' looks suspicious because of the spaces but if I right-click on the folder containing the project itself and select properties, this is what the path looks like:
    C:\Users\Steve\Documents\Visual Studio 2013\WebSites
    What am I doing wrong, please?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I'm not familiar with Aspnet_compiler.exe tool. However, I think the path must be in double quotes if you use "-p".
    Like:
    Aspnet_compiler -v /WebApplication1 -p "c:\Documents and Settings\Default\My Documents\MyWebApplications\WebApplication1" -keyfile "c:\Documents and Settings\Default\My Documents\Key.sn" -aptca c:\applicationTarget
    What's more, it looks like you didn't post in a correct forum. You need to reopen a new thread in

  • Portuguese characters in Command Prompt

    Hello.
    I have a similar problem but in Portuguese.
    I've written an application in LUA connecting to an Oracle 11gR1 database,
    running on Windows Vista Business 32.
    The database charset is WE8MSWIN1252.
    I have a table in which there is a column that have a value of "Manuteção".
    When I run a query to the database using SQLDeveloper it works fine.
    When the connection is made using LUA it retrieves wrong values. Even
    SQL*Plus (DOS) get the values in the wrong way ("ManutenþÒo").
    I do not know where should I set up any session parameter to get the
    queries working in the same way SQLDeveloper does.
    I have read the articles on NLS_PARAMETERS ( FAQ etc ) but I didn't
    find any recipe or method to correct the client behavior.
    I would appreciate any help on this matter.
    Thank you very much
    Jayme Jeffman Filho

    Your problem is quite different from the original question about length of Spanish characters in AL32UTF8, therefore, I have branched your question into a new thread.
    Regarding SQL*Plus Command Prompt (DOS), you need to set NLS_LANG to the OEM code page as follows:
    C:\>chcpThis will show:
    Active code page: 437or
    Active code page: 850Depending on the output, use the following:
    C:\>set NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.US8PC437
    C:\>sqlplusor
    C:\>set NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8PC850
    C:\>sqlplusThis should solve the problem for SQL*Plus. Of course, you can use BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE_BRAZIL in place of AMERICAN_AMERICA:
    C:\>set NLS_LANG=BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE_BRAZIL.WE8PC850
    C:\>sqlplusRegarding the LUA application, is it a Command Prompt (character mode) application as well? Do the incorrect characters look the same as in SQL*Plus Command Prompt?

  • JDBC Driver error when working in command prompt.

    I have a swing program that connects to MySql Database. When run within the Netbeans IDE, there are no errors. The error I get is "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" which is the driver I have been using in Netbeans. How do I get over this problem?

    The error I get is "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" which is the driver I have been using in Netbeans. How do I get over this problem?1. Fix your GUI so it reports the problem, rather than relying on command line output.
    2. Fix your class path which doesn't have the driver jar.
    3. There is a JDBC forum.

    and was showing results, however there a few questions I would like to ask with regards to the WMIC command you posted last. How far back does the command go? When there are no dates and times next to account entries, does this mean that users have never logged
    on to that machine or does this mean that the remote system has never retained this information in it's registry? I remember doing an error check on the machine I tested this command on as it was having performance problems and was developing a bad sector
    on the disk at the time, would this cause the information not to display as expected? Also I configure out the date and time entry for each account entry but what does the information after the decimal point mean? Does it represent milliseconds for the time
    element? Lastly I tried running the psloggedon app from the psloggedon suite on my Windows 7 x64 machine and now when I come to run it, it appears for a split second and then disappears, the same also happens for all the other apps from the psloggedon suite
    after agreeing to license agreement for each app. I decided to do some research to confirm what are the system requirements to run the apps from this suite and the website says that it's only compatible with systems that have Windows XP and higher and/or Windows
    Server 2003 and higher which I thought should have worked, I then decided to run the apps as Run As Administrator and they did the same thing as before, I also changed the compatibility settings of each app to run as Windows XP Service Pack 3 but again they
    all did the same thing as before, does this mean that the suite of apps aren't compatible with 64-bit systems and only work with 32-bit systems?
    Your help would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    RocknRollTim
