JDBC Driver error when working in command prompt.

I have a swing program that connects to MySql Database. When run within the Netbeans IDE, there are no errors. But when I run through the command prompt, I get the User Interface screen but does not connect to the database. I have also added the "mysql-connector-java-5.1.6-bin.jar" file in the jdk folder.
The error I get is "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" which is the driver I have been using in Netbeans. How do I get over this problem?

The error I get is "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver" which is the driver I have been using in Netbeans. How do I get over this problem?1. Fix your GUI so it reports the problem, rather than relying on command line output.
2. Fix your class path which doesn't have the driver jar.
3. There is a JDBC forum.

    SQL Developer 3.2.20.09
    Java platform 1.6.0_37
    Oracle IDE 3.2.20.09.87
    Hello, I'm going to start by saying I'm a rank amateur when it comes to using and understand SQL developer. My entire need for this program is to connect to a virt server at my office and test out my SQL queries against our tables. It's been working great for this purpose until yesterday when I received this error:
    An error was encountered performing the requested operation:
    oracle.jdbc.driver.T2CConnection.getLibraryVersionNumber()I
    Vendor code 0
    I did some searching and found a few references to this error but due to my inexperience I was unable to follow the resolutions and fix the error. This connection was working fine until yesterday afternoon which seemed odd. Based on my control panel, here is what I installed yesterday, I believe I installed both Java's after the error occurred seeing if they would alleviate the issue.
    MySQL Administrator 1.1
    Java SE Development Kit 6 Update 41 (64-bit)
    MySQL Workbench 5.2 CE
    Java 6 Update 41 (64-bit)
    Could one of these be the root of the issue?
    Thanks for the help and sorry for the lack of technical expertise, my need is very narrow and up until now this program has worked great for me.

    More likely to be that you are now using the wrong version of the oracle jdbc jar file.
    Post the name and version of the JDBC jar file that you think you are using.
    Search the pc for ALL such files.
    Examine the environment variables (e.g. PATH) to see if they reference jdbc jars other than the ojdbc6 jar you should be using.

  • Load oracle jdbc driver error when run applet via the web

    Hi All,
    I have built an applet which connect to database via jdbc thin driver. It works fine when I run it through the applet viewer, but got a problem when run it through the web.
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleDriver
    I am using jdev9i 9.0.4 and jdk 1.4.2. The jdbc version is 9.0.1
    I have added both the classes12.zip and ojdbc14.zip in the class path and also pack them together with my applet class. Here is the code
    public class MyApplet extends Applet
    implements Runnable
    public void start()
    if(theThread == null)
    theThread = new Thread(this);
    theThread.start();
    Retrieve R = new Retrieve();
    this.MyMap = R.retrieveDesc();
    public class Retrieve
    public Retrieve()
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
    conn=DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@babyruth.wvu.edu:1703:devdw", User, Password);
    conn.setAutoCommit(true);
    connectStatus = true;
    public HashMap retrieveDesc()
    return map;
    I have also built one HTML page NewApplet like this
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE> My New Applet</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <APPLET CODE="MyApplet.class" CODEBASE="menu" ARCHIVE="MyApplet.zip" WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=485>
    <!--General Settings-->
    <param name="bgcolor" value="255,255,255">
    </HTML>
    Any advice is highly appreciated
    Mei

    Sir,
    Well you haven't "packed" them correctly. Why don't you just add the driver bits to the soucebase tag? or something like that anyway...
    Sincerely,
    Slappy

  • JDBC Driver error

    Hello,
    I've downloaded MySQL Connector/J 3.0 zip file for the windows box.when I unzipped, had a directory, mysql-connector-java-3.0.10-stable and inside it I had this mysql-connector-java-3.0.10-stable-bin.jar file.I copied this file to j2sdk1.4.1_02/jre/lib/ext and when i try to run the following program, it throws me with error.Any ideas???
    Thanks in advance.
    public class test {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    try {
    Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance();
    System.out.println("Good to go");
    } catch (Exception E) {
    System.out.println("JDBC Driver error");

    I'm guessing it can't find the class, although your code doesn't print any details of the exception. Run a program containing this line of code:System.out.println(System.getProperties().getProperty("java.ext.dirs"));That will tell you where you need to put the jar file.

  • -Xlint warning when compiling with command prompt.

    1 of the method i write in the program has a compilation warning when compiling with command prompt. When i compile the codes with the application i used to write the program has no error at all. Below is my code:
    private static ArrayList readNum(String NumFile)
    ArrayList key = new ArrayList();
    String keyAttributes = readInput(NumFile);
    StringTokenizer stk = new StringTokenizer(keyAttributes);
    while(stk.hasMoreTokens())
    key.add(stk.nextToken());
    return key;
    When i javac the program with -X;int, this errror occured:
    warning: [unchecked] unchecked call to add(E) as a member of the raw type java.util.ArrayList
    key.add(stk.nextToken());
    ^
    1 warning
    Anyidea how to solve this problem? Thanks for the help.

    A quick google for that message would have told you that you're not using generics and the compiler complains about that.
    Google for "Java Generics" to find out what all the fuss is about.

  • No Driver Error when including Traditional DAQ in CVI 9.0 Distribution Kit

    I have some legacy code (CVI 6.0) that I wanted to upgrade recently.  The biggest reason was the ability to add the device drivers to the distribution kit.  When I installed the software on a new machine I got a No Driver Error when doing a CounterStart call .  In the past that error meant that I had not included CVI support when I installed Traditional DAQ.  Since it was installed as part of a distribution kit I can't see what elements were installed.  I assume since it was included as part if a CVI distribution kit that CVI support is automatically.  How can I get rid of the no driver error?
    Thanks,
    CP
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi, Clutch
    try this, build->distribution->managing distribution -> build step. and in drivers&components Table, you can select the driver you want to include.
    see graph below
    hope this can help !

  • SQL2005 cluster error MDB-05053  Errors when executing sql command: p nr="

    Hi all,
    We are migrating from 32 bit to x64 bit machines. SQL 2005 database on windows 2003.
    I am trying to install E 4.7-200 SR1 on the clustered nodes. The installation manuals for 4.7 are very old and there is nothing for SQL2005 installation.
    Now that some how we were able to have SQL up and running in clustered environment (It only took 10 days), After installing CI, I am not able to deploy the database and database creation phase is failing with the following error:
    MDB-05053  Errors when executing sql command: <p nr="0"/>.
    I am heavily relying on our server managment team on clustering and hoping they have done a good job, However I need some guidelines which can help me in verifying what they have done is correct and meets SAP and SQL requirments and issues we are facing is actually install problems not cluster.
    SAP install manuals are not detailed in this regards. Also manuals are out dataed and they only show the sql 2000 clustering pre-requisit for 4.7 installls.
    Can any one with clustering experience please help.
    Calling out NPC, As his sql installation and upgrade manual has helped me with stand alone installs, Hoping he has some thing for clustering as well.
    Regards,
    KG

    Hi,
    What installation CD/DVD are you using?
    Try look at SAP note [924288|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/924288],
    and note [969699|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/969699],
    and note [967124|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/967124],
    and note [106275|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/106275].
    In special the last note say at the end:
    "3. You must use the 51031444 CD to install Enterprise 4.7 on an x64 platform with SQL Server 2005. This CD installs the central instances and database instances. To convert the A and B nodes in MSCS, use the SAP NetWeaver 04 SR1 installation master CD or DVD."
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Rolf

    Ready message received from Oc4jNotifier.
    Embedded OC4J startup time: 29125 ms.

    I did what Manu suggested with no success. Alternatively, I registered the driver jar with embedded OC4J preferences > global > libraries. Still does not work. Please, note, that when I run JUnit tests against my BC4J application modules with JDBC URL as connection type, everything works just fine. The problem comes while running the JSF application when the application module is using JDBC DataSource as connection type.

  • Error with "rmiregistry" in command prompt

    Hello everybody.
    I am experiencing something really strange. I am doing the exercices on http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/rmi/RMI.html#RMIArchitectureGoals and now am trying the second one.
    When I type in "rmiregistry" in command prompt at location "C:\" it's works fine. However, when I type it in "C:\JProg\RMI" (and for another program a subdirectory) where my classes reside, command goes all funny. It keeps printing the command-line without any results.
    I tried to use it anyway but then I get a "Connection refused to host: localhost" error, so it really doesn't work.
    I also tried the all the above ten times at least.... it is consistent.
    Does anybody have any idea what the hell command is on about ?
    Thanks,
    Q

    "rmiregistry" in command prompt is just registering
    into the registry. No output or response will be
    resulted. The next line cursor will be appeared. That
    all. If any error has, you should check the class
    again I mean related coding.I do not understand what the classes have to do with the rmiregistry command. When I create an empty directory it works, that is: it gives a blinking _ and I can succesfully start a server class. How can this problem (which occurs before calling any classes) have anything to do with the classfiles ? It is only in my RMI (and sub-) directory that the rmiregistry goes all wacky.

  • Class Not found : oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver when calling web service

    Hi,
    I have installed the Oracle Data Integrator Public Web Services on Apache Tomcat 5.5 application server with Apache Axis2
    When I try to call the web service OdiInvoke using the operation "listScenario" using only the JdbcDriver as input parameter, the response I get back from the web service call is:
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Class Not found : oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Using the operator "getWebServiceVersion" I get a successfull response back som the connection seems fine.
    Obviously the error has to do with the driver not beeing available but where should I put the driver? Or how do I make it available? When working from Topology Manager, all connections are fine.
    Best regards
    M

    Solved it on my own by putting ojdbc14.jar in the following directory: <Apache-Tomcat install dir>/webapps/axis2/WEB-INF/lib/
    Thought I'd share in case some one else has same issue

  • Certification Validation fails only when executed through Command prompt

    I am developing a testing application using Java which calls multiples services a certain number of times. A few of these services are https protocol and hence require certification validation when the call is established.
    The testing application works fine when i run it on Eclipse but the requirement is to run a .bat file which in turn will call the java class which has some logic and then call the client stub (which i generated on Eclipse using the wsdl)
    The problem is when i try calling the java class from .bat file or command prompt the call fails with the following error :-

    I have made sure that the required certificates are imported into the Java Keystore . What i find confusing is how does Eclipse not have an issue with the certificate validation ?
