Common Provider null datasource error

Dear All,
I have created new private connection in Smartview for Essbase. But If I select that datasource to work it show an error in popup window saying "common provider null datasource error".
Help in solving this issue is highly appreciated.
Regards,
Kamal

It could be a compatibility issue. Check out this thread: http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2157808

  • Null pointer error if not started with 1st in string

    hi, this little pratice is about building a simple shopping cart. the TOAD.JSP will display the item list and quantity, user could check item and input the quantity that they want. if the user input larger quantity than database, servlet will sent the back to TOAD.jsp and show message. now it works if selected from 1 item, but if selected 2nd or 3rd, it will have null pointer error over here:
    for(int i=0; i<ItemList.size(); i++)
    newit = (ItemBean)ItemList.get(i);
    if (item != null && item.equals(newit.getItem()) )

    thanks for your time!

    You have prvided unsufficent information and poorly formatted code and as such no meaningful answer can given you at present.
    But here is the best that one can guess at.
    You have a null somewhere.
    Is it coming from this code? I am going to say no.
    Where does it come from? I don't know.
    Where should you look? In the code that does processing to see what happens when yuo have more than one item.
    What should you do next? Start putting in some debugging and tracing statements to see where you are heading off into the null abyss.

    Hi Andrew. In order for us diagnose this issue, you'll need to capture some network traces using a tool such as Fiddler and share them by sending a Frown.
    To capture a trace using Fiddler, start Fiddler, enable the Tools > Fiddler Options > HTTPS > Decrypt HTTPS traffic option, start the capture, reproduce your issue, then stop and save the capture. You can find more information here.
    Once you've done that, please send a Frown through the Power Query ribbon and attach the traces.
    Thanks,
    Ehren

    I assume you are implying "biztax" application here, right?
    I have contacted their program lead, with no result at all.
    Past days I have been searching for a solution - reinstalls / new systems - no solution.
    This issue appeared a week or two ago only.
    I found http://forums.adobe.com/message/5338853 useful - but no positive results either.
    http://test.eid.belgium.be/faq/faq_nl.htm obviously didnt help either.
    If anyone finds a solution to this issue, please do let me know - any help is appreciated.
    Biztax tells to use the "signature", not the "authentication"  - but it is only Auth. that is showing up as option to sign (that works)
    ps, did you fiddle with the Adobe Reader XI security settings and import that PKI etc as well? I hoped that would be the breaktrough. Sadly i'm still crying in my chair.
    Oh, and dont forget: they claim nobody else got this issue. Maybe one or two people. (We got about 8 customers experiencing exactly the same symptoms at the same time )
    >  I noticed that when I try to open the pdf  document that is 'signed' by the government it is not showing the filename in the title bar, but only " - Adobe Reader".    every piece of info helps I guess.
    Obviously last version of Reader   11.0.03

  • SCCM Get Collection Member Fails "Failed to get members of collection. The SMS Provider reported an error"

    Full Error is:  "Failed to get members of collection '{Collection Name from "Initialize Data"}'.". The SMS Provider reported an error. Details: Generic failure
    Orchestrator 2012 R2 7.2.84.0
    Using Integration Pack 7.2 for System Center 2012 Configuration Manager
    I have a Runbook that is setup to use Get Collection Members from SCCM.  The fields are:
    Collection:  {Collection Name from "Initialize Data"}
    Collection Value Type:  Name
    When I use the Runbook Tester (or when I try to run it myself) I get the error:
    "Failed to get members of collection '{Collection Name from "Initialize Data"}'.". The SMS Provider reported an error. Details: Generic failure
    I have tried using the Collection ID and I get the same error.  From the Collection Property in Get Collection Members I can browse and see all the collections in SCCM, so I know the connection is working.
    An example of a collection I am trying to use is this:  SUM - Patch and Reboot Server - 3rd Sat 1AM .  I have tried using it with quotes and single quotes as well and I get the same error.
    The log file for SCCM looks like this when it fails:

    Hi,
    may I ask if you modified the log? Because of ...
    Execute WQL  =SELECT * FROM SMS_Collection WHERE Name = "{Collection Name from "Initialize Data"}"~  $$<SMS Provider><03-25-2014 11:34:52.904+300><thread=528 (0x210)>
    Have you typed or subscribe the Published Data to the Field Collection in the Activity "Get Collection Member"?

  • How do I switch user in  Common Provider 11.1.1.3 ?

    Hi,
    After I login to Smartview in Excel using Common Provider 11.1.1.3, I don't seem to be able to change my login ID. It always connects me automatically as my 1st login ID.
    how do I switch user in Common Provider 11.1.1.3 ?

    I have found that in 11.1.1.3 what John says actually doesn't work every time.
    .... very annoying.
    If you do the steps John said and it still doesn't work. Do it again. But this time close Excel after you disconnet and then reopen Excel. This will work every time.
    Kind of a bug in my opinion but haven't bother chasing after it with Oracle

    Hi,
    The generic error message you received was sent back from the service. We'll need more information about your specific query to investigate the problem. Would you be able to report the issue through Power Query's "Send Feedback > Send a Frown" button?
    If so, please make sure to also include the information you have here along with the email.
    Thanks!
