Commonj TimerManager API in 9.2

I am running the commonj TimeManager in wls 9.2 and running into a problem with the scheduleAtFixedRate method of the TimerManager... scheduleAtFixedRate is running exactly like "schedule" method i.e working on a delay basis instead of specific time. For example, if I have a task scheduled to start at 1PM & interval 1hour and the first task (code inside timerExpired) takes 20 min then the second task is starting at 2:20 instead of 2..I thought with scheduleAtFixedRate I can make it at precise times irrespective of how much the previous task takes.. I am not seeing any difference between schedule and scheduleAtFixedRate..not sure why..any tips?

Hello!
In 9iAS 9.0.3 is running an EJB-Example and a
Webservice-Example.
I want use a Java Stored Procedure within Oracle DBMS
9.2. to call this Webservice and this EJB.
My Question: Is this supported in DBMS 9.2 release?yes, even 9.0.1 and to some extent, 8.1.7 can consume external web services (in iAS, any J2EE Server and .NET)
see code samples @ http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/database.html
>
Another question:
Which Standard-JAVA-API-Classes are not available in
OJVM 1.3.1 which is delivered with Oracle DBMS 9.2.mostly APIs that do not make sense in a database server environment such as AWT/Swing classes -- however, J2SE 1.4 provides Headless AWT for manipulating these objects without materializing their UI -- when we upgrade the OJVM version to J2SE 1.4, we will support Headless AWT.
Kuassi
thank you!
Harald.

  • Commonj TimerManager Help

    I'm looking into using the commonj TimerManager as a scheduler in my application.
    I am following examples and articles found on the following page
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/wlplatform/commonj/twm.html
    I'm having problems with configuration.
    I'm running weblogic 8.1 SP4
    My configuration in web.xml is:
    <resource-ref>
    <res-ref-name>timer/Report</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>commonj.timer.TimerManager</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    <res-sharing-scope>Unshareable</res-sharing-scope>
    </resource-ref>
    My configuration in weblogic.xml is:
    <reference-descriptor>
    <resource-description>
    <res-ref-name>timer/Report</res-ref-name>
    <jndi-name>java:comp/env/timer/Report</jndi-name>

  • Scheduling Capability in Oracle Soa Suite 11g

    Hi,
    I am looking for a capability to schedule the SOA composites in Soa suite 11g. Gone through the old forum posts and some of the blog links as well. Found out that only following ways are possible with out going for workarounds.
    - using commonJ API in weblogic
    - using quartz scheduler
    Just wanted to confirm is this the direct way possible? As both of these approches use the webaplication which requires additional maintenance have to come up with the UI as well as the user might want to modify scheduling times in future.
    Please let me know on the same.
    Thanks
    Siva

    I am looking in the same issue myself, I have put together some useful links here:
    http://www.javamonamour.org/2010/12/commonj-timer-with-osb.html
    most likely I will use CommonJ TimerManager with Clister-wide Timer and Job Scheduler, since I require High Availability....
    Anyway I wish there was something easier to configure and manage.... I have seen a commercial product (can't remember the link) but waaay too expensive....

  • Thread hang during call EJB 3.0 with Weblogic 10.3 (Urgent)

    Hello,
    We have a java client application call Weblogic Appserver 10.3, EJB 3.0 Service. Occasionally, client application, some step will get hang when try to invoking EJB. When we restart the application server and re-run the client application, it may work or hang on any other step. (Totally, we have around 40 steps to invoking EJB service)
    We did check Google and find similar issue happen on the IBM Websphere appserver. They post a patch to fix this issue (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg1PK74719), but not Weblogic.
    Is there any Weblogic expert who can help me to solve this issue?
    I have attached two thread dumps (different steps) when they got hang.
    Appreciate your quick help.
    Best wishes,
    Feelyn

  • Job Scheduler DS consumes all connections in Pool.

    Hi all,
    I use Weblogic 12.1.3.
    My objective is to create a job scheduler, with commonj Timer API to run a in a cluster environment.
    For this, I created a cluster with two node servers (I created this in the integrated weblogic server in Jdeveloper, for simplicity).
    Then I created the DataSource which points to the table where the weblogic_timers and active tables are, which are needed for persistance of the timers, targeted this DS on the nodes in the cluster, and then went to the Cluster -> Configuration -> Scheduling and selected the respective data source as "Data Source For Job Scheduler".
    After I do this and the servers are up, all the connections in the DS pool are consumed. It seems like connections are continuosly made from weblogic to the database.
    The connection itself seems ok, since I can connect from SQLDeveloper and also tested it when I created the DataSource.
    If I have a look in the logs of the two servers, I see errors like this:
    <BEA-000627> <Reached maximum capacity of pool "JDBC Data Source-2", making "0" new resource instances instead of "1".>
    Can you give me an idea of what the issue might be?
    Please let me know if I should provide more information.
    Thanks.

    It's not an issue WebLogic can address. The thortech application is independently using
    the UCP connection pool product, not WebLogic connection pooling, so Thortech APIs
    would be the only way to debug/reconfigure the UCP.

  • Thread hang?

    hi all,
    currently working on an applet (a large applet which contain other sub applet) which used thread, it seem to hang the application, but it does not have any error information. i've check the possible loop in the code section, should no problem but only once, as below:
    //*** partial of the code
    Thread t = new Thread(){
       public void run(){
          while ( !stop ){
             // do something here
             System.out.println("testing here...");
             wait(); //*** here cause the problem ***//
             System.out.println("finished testing here...");
             //*** other part down here ...
    t.start();above thread creation is in the "init()" method, it seem to hang at the "wait()" state if there are large number of result to process, but if the result to process is small this applet work just fine, any idea? thanks a lot.

  • Upgrading Weblogic

    We have a little bit of weird situation, we want to upgrade out server from Weblogic 9.2 MP2 to MP3. But our vendor is not ready to do it. And we have to follow our vendors instruction, as we are getting our application from vendor. I have a question here, does it really make a difference to a vendor if we upgrade the servers. Can't we just deploy the application packed for MP2 to MP3.
    I did a verbose on weblogic.version and found the same versions for MP2 and MP3, below are the version details:

    Hi,
    To be do not think that there would be any problem in that as in WLS 9.2 MP3 only the bugs which were found in WLS 9.2 MP2 might have been fixed and not major changes have been made in the new MP, also the JDK and other components would remain the same. Hence moving from to news MP version would not have any problem and its always recommended to use the latest versions.
    To be in a safe positon position you can upgrade your test environment and check your same production application in it and then do the same thing for production.
    You can get all the lists of fixes been made in WLS 9.2 MP3 in the below link.

  • Commonj WorkManager & TimerManager

    Has anybody had any success implementing either a commonj WorkManager or TimerManager in Weblogic 9.0? I've sifted through the specification documents and several articles that describe how to implement these, but there seems to be a missing link.
    I can't seem to get the right combination of deployment descriptors to get a TimerManager or WorkManager instance to show up in the JNDI tree. What's the secret? Is this even implemented in Weblogic 9.0?

  • How to calculate call duration using java card API

    Hi,
    I am developing an application using Java card API. I want to calculate duration of otgoing calls in it. I am trying to start timer at the beginning of call in Call Control event. Can someone kindly check following code of Call control event? Here timerManagement function is sending proactive command for starting timer for 3 hours. Here I am asuming that maximum call will be of 3 hours. In callDisconnect event i can get current value of timer and use it to calculate duration of call. But this scenario is also not working.
    Problem is that during code execution program stuck at send command (proHdlr.send();) of timmerManagement function. I am sending postAsBERTLV command before starting timer so may be reason is that it is not possible to send proactive command while phone is busy.
    But I also cannot send postAsBERTLV after timerManagement function. Because it is mention in specification that "The EnvelopeResponseHandler content must be posted before the first invocation of a ProactiveHandler.send method or before the termination of the processToolkit, so that the GSM applet can offer these data to the ME (eg 9Fxx/9Exx/91xx). After the first invocation of the ProactiveHandler.send method the EnvelopeResponseHandler is no more available"
    Take a look at following code
                     * Method illustrating the use of the Call Control event.
                    private void callControlService() {
                                    /** @todo: Replace following sample code with your implementation */
                                    ProactiveHandler proHdlr = ProactiveHandler.getTheHandler();
                                    EnvelopeHandler envHdlr = EnvelopeHandler.getTheHandler();
                                    ProactiveResponseHandler rspHdlr = ProactiveResponseHandler
                                                                    .getTheHandler();
                                    EnvelopeResponseHandler envRspHdlr = EnvelopeResponseHandler
                                                                    .getTheHandler();
                                    durationCount = 0;
                                     // allow call with no modifications
                                    envRspHdlr.postAsBERTLV((byte)0x9F, (byte)0x00);
                                    // start clock using timer
                                    timerManagement(proHdlr, rspHdlr, (byte) 0x0, timer_id, tempBuffer);
                                    return;
                    }Please help me in this regard
    Thanks
    Yasir

    I am also unable to start timer in call connected event. I cannot send any proactive command while phone is busy. I am using Gemalto development Suite and there simulators (Simulation 2G chain).
    Is it limitation of simulator that you cannot send any proactive command while phone is busy?
    Is there any other work around for getting call duration?

  • CommonJ Supporting

    Hello,
    I met a problem when migrating J2ee application for a partner.
    The application have used CommonJ (http://dev2dev.bea.com/wlplatform/commonj/).
    Could AS provide same solution?
    Thanks

  • User a commonj WorkManager on a servlet

    Hi,
    I'm developing a servlet in weblogic 9 and want to assing a commonj WorkManager to it for work handling. For that purpose I have defined the following resource-ref on web.xml file
    <resource-ref>
    <res-ref-name>wm/MyWorkManager</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>commonj.work.WorkManager</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
    </resource-ref>
    On the code I obtain successfully the reference of that WorkManager through JNDI. The problem is that when I try to schedule the first work on that work manager i get and exception saying the work manager is shutdown.

    Do I have to startup this work manager or something? Thanks a lot

    Hi,
    Which kind of workmanager is it..."*Application Level WorkManagers*" or "*Global WorkManagers*". Have u provided any <work-manager> tag in "weblogic.xml" as well?
    Please refer to the following link...and let us know if you are doing anything special... After the Lookup to the WorkManager is Successful... How r u calling the .schedue()? or what exactly r u doing after that?

  • Unable to capture user comments and responder in RESPOND API

    We are building a custom application that uses Oracle Workflow underneath. The application users and responsibilities have been integrated into Workflow. Notifications are acknowledged and responded to directly from the application using the PL/SQL Notification APIs.
    When using the wf_notification.respond API with the appropriate user and comment information filled in, we are still unable to capture the responder information as well as the reponders comments. In other words, the RESPONDER and USER_COMMENT fields in the WF_NOTIFICATION is blank. However, the response does seem to go through otherwise. Do we need to set some kind of user context outside of just setting the response attributes and calling the respond API? Following is the code....
    owf_mgr.wf_notification.setattrtext(p_nid,
                   'RESULT'          ,
                   'APPROVED');
    -- This procedure then caused the WF to advance to next step
    -- Respond to notification, depends on RESULT setattrtext above
    owf_mgr.wf_notification.respond(     p_nid, -- notification id
         p_respond_comment,     -- response_comment
    p_responder     );     --responder role
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Raj

    If you are on 11.5.10 or greater or standalone 2.6.4 if you pass the responder value to wf_notification.respond API it should be updated in wf_notifications.responder column. The comments is now updated in wf_comments table against the notification id and not wf_notifications.user_comment column.
    Thanks, Vijay

  • Is There any API in receivables payment will made against closed invoices ?

    Hi ALL,
    i have requirement as below.
    i am doing AR Invoice Data Migration for Instance 11.5.5 (as a Source Instance) to the new instance R12 (as a target instance).
    Both open and closed invoices will have to be migrated from 11.5.5 to R12 to provide the drill down facility for audit purpose.
    To meet the above requirement all the open and closed invoice will be picked up from 11.5.5 ; and imported into R12..
    Subsequently, full payment will be made in R12 against all closed invoices in 11.5.5 to close those invoices by using any APIs?
    can some one explain is there any API in receivables payment will made against closed invoices.
    Thanks,
    VSR.

    Hi,
    Can you be clear on your question: You want any API to make payment against closed invoices?
    To me, You are making things complex. We can achieve the Migration of Closed invoices using following two procedures:
    Procedure: 1
    Ask Functional Guy to create a Transaction Type 'Closed Invoices' with Open to Receivables Flag not checked. +(You can uncheck Post to GL flag also, if required depending on your migration strategy)+. Status at Transaction Type if taken as 'Closed' it will be appropriate.
    Invoices migrated using this Transaction Type shall not be shown as Outstanding but will be useful for Audit.
    Procedure: 2
    Consider the amount due Original of Closed Invoices and migrate them with the amount as Amount due remaining.
    While migrating populate Receipt Method,Payment Method and Instruments useful for Automatic Receipts.
    Once Create Automatic Receipts Program is run, it will close all these invoices. Note: We require dummy bank here which points to a Clearing account.
    Automatic Receipts program is also an API.
    In the above 2 ways, we are acheiving the Goal by using Functional knowledge rather than Technical. And I think following Functional way is better and less time consuming.
    Please discuss with your Functional consultant if required. You can succeed.
    Regards,
    Sridhar
