Communication B/w R/3 to GTS

Hi experts,
I have small doubt about the connection of ECC and GTS.
To communicate ECC to GTS we define Logical systems and assign logical systems to client.
Also we maintain RFC method call in ECC system.
Suppose In R/3 system if I define Logical System T90CLNT090
Suppose my ECC client is 410
In the same manner i maintain logical system in GTS as GTSCLNT150,
Suppose my GTS Client is 160.
How do i assign I have small confusion at the time of assigning logical systems to client.
How we maintain RFC for these.
Can any one explain on these in detailed.
Thanks in Advance for helpful answer.

Hi
Basically the naming convention that we follow while creating the Logical System is
<SystemID>CLNT<clinet>
Assuming GTS as your GTS system ID and ECC as your ECC system ID.
So while defining logical system in ECC,  for connecting to GTS we will be defining the name using the GTS system Id and client : in user case it will be : GTSCLNT160.
From this we will easily know to which GTS client our ECC system is connected to.
Similarly in the GTS side we will define name with the ECC system id and client like : ECCCLNT410.
This will let you know which from which client/system the connection is .
for Establishing the connection we will create the Logical system for both the servers in GTS as well as ECC.
Now you need to create a RFC connection to establish a physical connection between these systems.
For this You will have to go to SM59 or through ECC side GTS cockpit->Basic Settings->Assign RFC.
The RFC connection will also be created with the same naming convention of the logical system so suggested to create RFC connection with the name GTSCLNT160 which specifies that connection is to connect to the GTS client 160. You need to know the IP and user credentials for this. if the ECC and GTS are on same system you can select the check box named"Current user in the "Logon and security" tab of the RFC creation t code.
The Assignment of Logical system to Client is to establish the connection. we are specifying the Which logical system specifies which client. as the naming convention specifies ECCCLNT410 which denotes that the client is 410 assign the Logical system to the client 410 in ECC and in GTS assign the logical system GTSCLNT160.
Understand that the client assignment to the logical system of ECC clients happen in ECC and GTS client in GTS  and not in combine in any system if systems are different.
Hope it cleared the Doubt.
Please revert in case of query.

  • GTS Version Differences

A client just starting working on upgrading from 3.0 to 7.2.  Can anyone tell me what are the significant changes between 3.0 and 7.2 as well as 8.0?    Thanks! Mark

    The differences are significant.
But it is also important on what GTS "modules" you are focussing ?
    - Customs Management
for electronic customs communication you have to have at least GTS 7.2 to ensure communication.
The difference to older GTS Versions is in extended functionlity for Customs declarations, for available country-customs communication, supported customs procedures (e.g. bonded warehous, inward processing, outward processing...)
    - Compliance Mgm
same here; much more functionality is available in GTS 8.0 than in GTS 3.0 - also the coverage of legal requirement e.g. for export control is much more better in 8.0..... also for Sanctioned Party List screening - you find more functionality (e.g. TREX integration)
I recommend you upgrade directly to GTS 8.0
To get full information about the differences i recommend you to have a closer look at the

  • GTS Communication via SAP XI

    Hi,
we have a customer who will use GTS (Global Trade Service) for communicate with costum duty. This practise is called ATLAS Zoll and its typical german.
Inside the GTS is a Seebruger converted delivered which sends data via EDIFACT and X.400 to the responsible authorities of our country.
Because the client has also a SAP XI we thought about sending the data from GTS via SAP XI to the authorities, using additional Seeburger Adapter to have all the communication across the XI.
Special about this is, the authorities have to give a kind of certificate for using SAP XI. There seems to be only a certificate for sending data directly via GTS to the authorities.
Does anyone have some experience concerning this?! We have a partner that told me that he didn't hear of anything like this, just using GTS instead of SAP XI. Do i have to write an OSS?!
    best regards, Jens

  • Can we integrate GTS 10.0 with SAP 4.7e

    Hi,
Presently we are using GTS 7.1 which has plugged to SAP 4.7e.
Now we are planning to upgrade GTS system to present version which s 10.0.
Is GTS 10.0 plug in SLL_PI having compatibility with SAP 4.7e?
Is there any patches need to be apply to integrate GTS 10.0 with 4.7e?
Please let m know your valuable answers.

Edited by: Subbaramaiah Sepuri on Aug 11, 2011 9:40 PM

Hi Subbu: From SAP documents for GTS10.0
You can connect SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services10.0 (SAP SLL-LEG 900 to SAP ERP systems starting at the release of SAP R/3 4.6C (for 4.7 - SLL_PI 900_470) using standard interfaces. The plug-in SLL_PI 900_* provides all the technical functions required for communicating with SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services and integrating the processes.
There are no technical dependencies between upgrades of SLL_PI and SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services. If you are installing SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services with an earlier release version than the release version of your plug-in version, you can still only use the plug-in functions for the SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services release to which the plug-in version corresponds although you might have a more current version of SAP BusinessObjects Global Trade Services installed.
Also kindly check Master guide and Notes.

  • Is NetWeaver really necessary for GTS?

    Hi,
Just wanted to know if for GTS we should and must have netweaver or is there any version of GTS which runs without netweaver for 4.6c?
    Thanks,
    Shruthi

    Hi Shruthi,
SAP GTS is based on SAP Net Weaver technology. It can be connected to both SAP and non-SAP feeder systems through Net weaver.
To communicate with other systems,You need interfaces and need to set up communication between them, for example, to connect external converter systems, which convert your IDocs into the official data formats for electronic communication with the customs authorities. For this and many other similar functions you require Net weaver.
For more info you can check: SAP Library for SAP Net Weaver under help.sap.com ® Documentation ®SAP Net Weaver ®SAP-Net Weaver Library ®SAP Net Weaver by Key Capability ®Application Platform by Key Capability ® Connectivity ® Components of SAP Communication Technology

  • Vendor/Customer Periodic Transfer from GTS - Idoc errors

    Hi Guys
Need your help on this, seems like when i am trying to send the reduced message type for /SAPSLL/CREMAS_SLL and DEBMAS_SLL
I see that its generating IDOCS but its not communicating - 1 master IDocs set up for message type /SAPSLL/CREMAS_SLL but the next is the problem - 0 communication IDoc(s) generated for message type /SAPSLL/CREMAS_SLL
Is there anything i am missing which it does not transmit?
I have activated change pointer, configured the message type, maintained additional data and proper function module and also the Change document item for message types.
What am i missing here. Do i need to maintain these message types in the ALE Distribution model? If i do this it generates an IDOC and sends it to GRC, but fails there as Basic type and  /SAPSLL/CREMAS_SLL message types are not there.
Any help on why the problem is occuring?
    Thanks
    Carl

    Hi Carl,
Communication to GTS does not use iDocs.  Instead, Remote Function Calls (RFC) are used.  To achieve this, SAP provide (and usually pre-configure) special Function Modules /SAPSLL/CREMAS_DISTRIBUTE_R3 and /SAPSLL/DEBMAS_DISTRIBUTE_R3 for Vendors and Customers respectively, that you assign to the Message Types in Transaction BD60.
You still run program RBDMIDOC, but those Function Modules carry out RFC communication rather than creating any iDocs.
    Hope that helps.

    Dave

  • Global Trade System (GTS) with XI

    Hi
We are in the process of implementing GTS, and SAP has recommended that we use their installation of the Seeburger converter to communicate with customs authorities.
Instead we would prefer to use our existing XI converter to handle the communication.
However SAP has strongly recommended not to do this, and said that other big customers running GTS are also using the Seeburger delivery from SAP.
Does anyone have experience with this? And know why it apparently would be so problematic to use another converter?
    Thanks
    Br.
    John

Instead we would prefer to use our existing XI converter to handle the communication.
XI in itself does not support the EDI communication protocols. For this, SAP rely on their partners like Seeburger who have created such adapters using which various EDI communication is possible.
U have 2 options of using Seeburger. Either u use it in conjunction with XI (which is recommended by SAP) or u use it standalone. The advantage in using it with XI is that u can leverage existing advantages of XI. As u already have XI in place, SAP is recommending the use of Seeburger.

  • GTS - EDI IDOC Set up

    Hi,
We need to set up the EDI IDOC for communicating with Agent and to receive the confirmations from Agent (both outbound and Inbound) to GTS. This is to be done for Export and Import declarations.
Please share the configuration information to set up in the system for the above scenario.

Have you defined both Quantity and Value updating in your license type? If so, what about only depreciating by quantity (instead of value). Not sure if I am reading you correctly, but from your example it seems that you are only concerned with quantity (and not value) depreciation, as you want to first exhaust the quantity available from License A (5), and then take the remaining from License B (5)..
Please let me know if this is helpful...

  • GTS Export Declaration document Error

    Hi,
We have an error message while export declarion is procesed  - Error message - "authorised value is 9".
For more Info - the document was in monitoring but the wrong message type has been reprocessed : M7100 was reprocessed instead of P770.
How can this document be send back to the monitoring tab ?
Please advice with your thoughts for resolution.
    Thanks

Hi, Its not really clear what caused the error...
Did you get an inbound message (I***)  with the error message ( Authorized value 9 ) after sending the M class message ?
Or was it GTS internal error ? My tip is that you used some value for a field which is not valid in the current code list - maybe check if code lists haven`t changed....
Anyway, to reprocess message there is a small button on the Communications tab (Declaration header level).
