Communication Party - Channel

Hi,
I have a scenario where the receivers of my message all ly within one business system. In order to be able to distinguish between the receivers of the message during inbound processing I am using communication parties which I create and assign to the same business system.
When I was configuring my scenario I discovered that I actually had to create an inbound communication channel per party / business system which seems correct if you think about it as the communication chanel is specific to a receiver which in my case is the combination of party / business system. On the other hand it seems stupid to create the same communication channel multiple times. Does anybody know whether there is a possibilty to "reuse" the communication channels of a business system for multiple party assigned to this business system.
This is the way it is:
Business System CD1_100   Channel XIReceiverCD1_100
Party A:  Business System: CD1_100 -> Channel XIReceiverPartyA
Party B:  Business System: CD1_100 -> Channel XIReceiverPartyB
Is this possible ?
Business System CD1_100   Channel XIReceiverCD1_100
Party A:  Business System: CD1_100 -> Channel XIReceiverCD1_100
Party B:  Business System: CD1_100 -> Channel XIReceiverCD1_100
Additionally I discovered that naming parties is certain restriction

Hi,
the problem is I have to split the message per configured receiver.
Sender System A using message MI_XYZ requires receivers Party A of System B and Party B of System B. So configuring conditions will not help here. Hope this clarifies the issue,
thanks
Andy

  • PI 7.1 - Getting the Communication Party from the document

    Hello,
In XI 3.0 when I made a Receiver Determination I was able to use "/p1:<document>/<field>" to pull in the Communication Party and Component (Service).
In PI 7.1 I am getting an error when I try to use / or : in the Receiver Determination.
Does anyone know how I can call fields from my document from my Receiver Determination in PI 7.1?
    Thanks,
    Matt

You need to use the drop menu for Communication Party and select "Extended".  Although the result is the same as manually entering the fields it does not give the error when you use the drop menu.
    Thanks,
    Matt

  • Use of Identifiers in Communication channel definition

    Hi all,
I have read the help.sap links about identifiers and their areas of usage. But still having some doubts.
I have got an idea about its usage in value mapping. I would like to know how the identifier is used by the communication channels in inbound and outbound processing.
The link says that <i>If a message from an external party contains an identifier for a company in the message header, the identifier is mapped to the name of the internal party</i>
But I thought the message headers are created only in XI after picking up the message content from the sender.  Can someone please explain me.

    Hi Aarthi,
In the communication channel, you can then specify the identifier to be used as the ID for the communication party.  In the identifiers tab of the communication channel screen, information wil be entered to help the system identify the sender as customer & not a logical system.
The available identifiers are specified in the communication party as alternative identifiers.
A communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process.
You can assign a communication party one or more services to address it as the sender or receiver of messages
Identifiers are used to identify objects uniquely.
    An identifier comprises the following:
    ·Agency
Defines the identification scheme and issues names for the objects to be identified.
·Identification Scheme (or ‘scheme’ for short)
Constitutes the reference framework within which objects are uniquely identified by names.
    ·Name/Value
A name or value that identifies the object within the given identification scheme.
An object can only be uniquely identified when all three have been specified.
A person can be identified in many different ways, for example, by their customer number at a mail order company, or their name or employee number at their place of work. To be able to identify a person uniquely, it is not sufficient to just know the customer number, for example, you must know that this number is a customer number. Only once the frame of reference (the identification scheme Customer Number) is also known can a person be identified uniquely (by using the number).
In the example, the agency Mail Order Company manages the identification scheme Customer Number. Different customers are issued unique names (customer numbers) within this scheme.
    Use
Identifiers are used in the following areas of SAP Exchange Infrastructure.
    ·To identify communication parties
    ·In value mappings.
·To set a receiver in the proxy runtime
These r the web-sites which give a detailed description about identifiers :

  • Communication Channel relationship

    Hi,
Can anybody explain how the services and communication channels are related conceptually in PI.
    With regards
    Sudha

    Hi,
The following piece of information is got from help.sap.com
To describe on a logical level which address types communicate with each other, use services. A service can be a business system or an integration process, for example. You can assign multiple services to a communication party or configure a service without a specific communication party.
§         The service does not yet specify any technical details regarding the message exchange. Depending on the type of service, you reference interfaces and one or more communication channels. The latter defines how you can address a communication party technically, for example, which adapters are required.
This means that you can call all technical options and u2018publicu2019 sender and receiver interfaces in a collaboration profile.
How does Communication Party, Services and Communications Channels are related??

  • Party to Party communication

    Hi All ,
Can i define an internal system as party ?
Here goes details of my scenario -
1)Internal system ( SAP R/3 system part of land scape ) defined as Party
2)Communication party ( external system ) connect thru HTTP adapter .
What are the various ways of sending data from R/3 system to XI system ?
Do i need to configure any sender adapter ?
    Cheers,
    Reddy

    hi,
<i>Can i define an internal system as party ?</i>
u dnt define a system as a party. rather u define a party representing a larger unit like organization. n then assign systems to that party. so in ur scenario u can definitely have two parties, ur organization n the other company.
<i>ways of sending data from R/3 system to XI system ?</i>
3 ways-- idoc, rfc and proxies (for WAS>= 6.20)
<i>Do i need to configure any sender adapter ?</i>
for idoc- no. for rfc -rfc adapter. for proxy-generally no--xi adapter (depends)

  • Business system/service Service without party: info needed

    Hi,
I am a newbie in XI world. I have a scenario of interfacing a 3rd party system to R/3 via XI. This system will dump a file to XI which needs to be converted to IDOC for R/3 use and later an outbound interface should send some data in a file format to this 3rd party system.
As per various blogs, I have managed to define business system and basid IR config. Since this a 2 way asyncronous interface,  I wanted to know
1> In XI, do I need to create a separate Buss System for 3rd Party sender interface( legacy->XI->R/3)
and a new Buss system for 3rd party Receiver interface.(R/3->Xi>Legacy). However in R/3 should I can create only one and assign the inbound/outbound IDOC partner profiles. ( But do the names of legacy systems in R/3 and XI have to be same)
2> What is the difference between Party and Service without Party( I saw these in ID). Do I need to define party for my interface scenario. If yes, How?
3> For testing, I wanted XI to pick files from my desktop and then post to R/3. As per various sdn threads, I realise, I need to give the IP of my PC and use Service without party. Since I am new in this area, I do not know how to define this serv-without party for my scenario. Any blogs or threads which define this would be very helpful.
    Appreciate your help and time.
    Helpful answers will be rewarded.
    Thanks and regards
    Shirin

    Hi Shirin,
For 3rd party sysytems u can directly configure in ID under bussiness service
we will choose service without party when we are having A2A communication.
A2A means application to application communication, it is used when two systems in same landscape try to communicate with each other. Systems in same landscape means both the systems are belongs to same organization or a company.
Normally in A2A communication sender and receiver is inside one organization and developer have freedom to define communication rules .

we will choose service withparty when we are having B2B communication
B2B means Business to Business communication .It is used when there is exchange of information between two different Parties or companies or landscape.
When two applications in different companies communicates with each other we call it B2B Communication.
in case of B2B every party has it own rules which must be followed if we want to communicate between different organization.

communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process. Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process. That means we use party only when we r using B2B communcation.for example communication of two diffrent organization who r having different landscape.
The matter of Party comes only when there are number of partners included in the environment. Thats usually happens in B2B systems. The services without party usually happens in normal A2A systems; were normal applications handle the message processing between systems and no multiple partners are interested in same data that are been handled.
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/xi-error--unable-to-convert-the-sender-service-to-an-ale-logical-system
Business System : It is registered in SLD,We should have all the technical details to use
it, A business system is something that physicallu exists. generally for R/3 applications
    we use this one.
Business Service : When we don't have all the technical details then we use the business
service, it is mostly used for B2B scenarios.
In ID objects tab in Business service is there, there right click and create the new business service, and fill the details like interface,...
    BUSINESS SERVICE CREATION STEPS:
You can create the Business Service in ID itself. It is an abstract unit and it will act as Business System while exchanging the messages. In ID goto Service Without Party>Choose Business Service>Right Click and say as New>Give Servie Name as your Naming Conventions and choose u r configuration Scenario to adding the same> click on create>It will create the service and u can edit the service>u can find the tabs Receiver,Sender and etc--> Add ur Inbound/Outbound interfaces and corresponding Communication channels.

  • B2B communication using PI

    Hi all,
I want to know what exactly is the meaning of B2B communication and A2A communication. How are both of them different?
How exactly does the concept of "Party" help to establish B2B communication.
    Many Thanks,
    Neha

    Hi Neha,
You already have the best answers from the Gurus. Only to add to answer the second part of your question,
"How exactly does the concept of "Party" help to establish B2B communication."
In a scenario Party object designates an Organization or a similar entity (Business partners/customers or the Home Organization) taking part in the scenario.
Using Parties in a B2B scenario in XI helps to define the logical scenario between the transacting parties........where you use the Services under Parties.
While in A2A you should use Service without party, as the transaction takes place between Business (Logical) Systems defined within your System Landscape (SLD).
Now how technically the Party object helps to establish B2B communication...............
While configuring IDoc scenarios and the IDoc partners for these transactions are defined as Vendors (LI) or Customers (KU) in the Backend R/3 systems,
then the Inbound IDoc adapter resolves the Sender/Receiver information (SNDPRN, SNDPRT, RCVPRT, RCVPRN) in the IDoc control header to a specific Party object in the configuration during Normalization, using Party Identifiers.
And reversely the Outbound Idoc adapter resolves the Party objects used in XI scenario into the Backend R/3 system's Idoc partner while creating the Idoc Control header Information.
Also the Party Identifiers (Alternative Identifiers) are used to convert the Party names used in XI scenario to Multiple globally-recognized identifiers for Companies
(Such as DUN numbers or EAN codes) - which directly relates to (facilitates) a physical cross-company process/transaction - in the message header.
    Some useful excerpts from help.sap.com
A communication party (party for short) represents a larger unit, which is involved in a collaborative process.
Using a communication party, you generally address a company within a cross-company process.
You can assign a communication party one or more services to address it as the sender or receiver of messages.
Alternative identifiers are used as follows at runtime:
    ·        Inbound Processing:
If a message from an external party contains an identifier for a company in the message header, the identifier is mapped to the name of the internal party (normalization).
Only then can the relevant configuration objects required for the message to be processed further be found and analyzed in the Integration Directory.
    ·        Outbound Processing:
The internal party name of an outbound message is mapped to the identifiers to be used (in accordance with the configuration settings).
The external receiver then receives a message that contains the externally-valid identifier in the message header (denormalization).
Wish you the best in developing your first B2B scenarios

    Suddha

  • Apple TV Remote hidden controls

Are these controls legit? While in know some of these are simple and work on the device without much risk, I don't want to blow my device trying out unknown/new control.
    Restart Your Apple TV
p><span>This is my favorite tip on this list because I frequently find myself navigating into the Apple TV’s layered Settings screens to restart the device whenever it gets <a href="/glossary/wi-fi" title="Wi-Fi is a way of wirelessly connecting to the internet over a broadband connection." class="lexicon-term">Wi-Fi</a> issues. Well, no more! Simply press and hold the DOWN and MENU button at the same time for six seconds to restart your Apple TV.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Sleep Your Apple TV</strong></h3>
p><span>You can also quickly put your Apple TV to sleep using the remote. Usually it goes to sleep at after a predetermined amount of time passes. To make that happen sooner hold the PLAY/PAUSE for five seconds.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Get To Home Screen Instantly</strong></h3>
p><span>Sometimes you can be knee deep in submenus on the Apple TV, especially when using some third-party channels. The good news is you don’t need to back out of each sub-menu step by step. Simply press and hold the MENU button on the Apple TV remote for three seconds and you’ll be taken to the Home screen right away.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Arrange / Hide Channels</strong></h3>
p><span>For the longest time the layout of the Home screen was fixed, but then in a software update last year Apple finally added the ability for the user to rearrange and hide channels. This no doubt came in response to the increased availability of third-party channels on the Apple TV--some of which a user may never have an interest in viewing.</span></p>
p>To rearrange channels simply hold down the SELECT button for two seconds. The channel icons will jiggle. Use the DIRECTION arrows to move the selected channel. Or press the PLAY/PAUSE button to hide an channel.</p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Rewind / Fast Forward At Different Intervals</strong></h3>
p>Everyone knows you can use the left and right direction pad to skip backwards and forwards, but you can actually use the same left and right buttons on the direction pad to rewind and fast forward at different intervals. Hold the LEFT button to rewind 30 seconds. Press the LEFT button to rewind continuously. Alternate your rewind speeds further by pressing LEFT once each time to cycle through slow, medium, or fast rewind.</p>
p><span>The opposite applies to fast forwarding as well. Hold the RIGHT button to fast forward 30 seconds. Press the RIGHT button to fast forward continuously. Alternate your fast forward speeds further by pressing RIGHT once each time to cycle through slow, medium, or fast fast forward.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Go Slow-Mo</strong></h3>
p><span>This one is really cool. You can rewind or fast forward through video in slow motion on the Apple TV. To do this simply press the PAUSE button then press the LEFT or RIGHT button to rewind or fast forward in slow motion.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>View Video Settings</strong></h3>
p><span>Sometimes you might want to adjust audio or other settings for a video that is already playing. You can use the Apple TV remote to quickly do this by pressing and holding the SELECT button for three seconds while the video is play. This will bring up the video’s settings including subtitles, speaker settings, audio, and closed captions.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Mark Episodes As Watched</strong></h3>
p><span>Many times we have full TV series we’ve bought via the iTunes Store that we watch on the Apple TV. However most of the time we’ve already seen some of the episodes in each season. This tip allows you to use the Apple TV remote to mark episodes as already watched. To do this you need to be in the iTunes TV Shows channel on the Apple TV. Select the episode you want to mark as watched and then press and hold the SELECT button. You can also mark entire seasons as watched by selecting the season and then pressing and holding the SELECT button as well.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Pair / Unpair Apple TV Remote</strong></h3>
p><span>If you’ve got lots of Apple TV’s in your house you may have some remote conflicts. The good thing is you can quickly pair and unpair remotes simply by using...the remote. To pair a remote to an Apple TV press and hold the RIGHT and MENU buttons for five seconds. To unpair a remote from an Apple TV press and hold the LEFT and MENU buttons for five seconds.</span></p>
    h3 dir="ltr"><strong>Switch On-Screen Keyboards</strong></h3>
p><span>Using the on-screen keyboard is one of the chores of navigating the Apple TV. You’ll use this keyboard whenever you need to enter login information (say, for Netflix) or when you are searching for a show. Thankfully the Apple TV remote has these hidden controls to make using the keyboards easier.</span></p>
p><span>Press PLAY/PAUSE when entering text to switch between the alpha, numeric, and symbol keyboards. You can also hold down the SELECT button for two seconds to bring up the accented characters and then press PLAY/PAUSE to select the one you want.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you don't want to use a remote with your computer the easiest thing to do is just to turn the IR off. (System_Preferences/Security/General)
If you still want to use your computer remote then you must pair your computers remote with the computer AND the Apple TV remote with the Apple TV.
To pair a remote with a device hold down the menu and FF buttons together for six seconds or until you see a chain icon on screen (best take the computer into another room, or turn it off, when you do this)

  • IDOC to FTP File - Error : SAP:Stack No receiver agreement found for send

    Hello Friends,
I need to configure a senario Idoc to FTP File, Í did required settings in R3 and in PI... , did mapping and configuratino in PI... and when I send my idoc I got error msg in monitor
<SAP:Stack>No receiver agreement found for sender ,BMG_ASN_File_Component to receiver ,GTN_224,http://adis-bmg.de/asn,SI_BMG_ASN</SAP:Stack>
I search the fourm but did not got my answer, me just a bit confused...
In my senario I have having followings:
    1. Bussiness System ( RFT : sender R3 system).  ( I have define a party and make a connection under Idoc Partner )
    2. Bussiness Component ( ZTEST_COMP as on Reciever side is File Server, so I define the reciver as bussiness component )
    3. Communicatin Channel
File with protocol FTP having communicatin component as my Bussiness Component ( reciver ). there I defied the required info for FTP
    4. Reciever Determination
        Sender:
        - RFT
        - Idoc-Interface
        - urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages
       Reciever
        communication party  = space
        communicatin component = ZTEST_COMP
        Configure Reciever:
There I again define the communication component as  ( ZTEST_COMP)
    5. Interface Determination
        -RFT
        - Idoc-Interface
        - urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages
       Reviever:
        ZTEST_COMP
and define the mapping which I did in design ( although I have seen some threads where mentioned we dont need maaping in this case ) ?
    6. Reciver agrement
    sender:
    - RFT
    Reviver:
    - ZTEST_COMP
    - SI interface ( SI_BMG_ASN )
and included my CC for file .....
Now when I send Idoc I got error msg that Reciver is not found : am I dong something wrong ?  do I have to defien a bussiness system instead of Bussiness Component ?
    Pls suggest...

( I have define a party and make a connection under Idoc Partner
Do you really need a party in your communication? Should it not be a partly-less communication.
In the receiver agreement ensure that you have included the inbound message interface.
    communication party = space
No need to give any space.
In the Interface Determination i hope that you have included the receiver meessage interface and then the corresponding Interface Mapping.
If still not works then make some dummy changes and again activate....correspondingly check the cache status of the ID-objects
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Integration Directory

    Hi all,
Can any body please provide me link to some blog / tutorials which could give me the entire understanding about integration Directory. For example when is the business system used, what are the steps invloved in configuring various scenarios.
    Any help will be appriciated.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Kulwant

    Hi Kulwant,
    Regarding to the Integration Directory..
First according to the scenario u have to decide whether to use a party, service without party in which it contains business system, business service , business scenario..
The creation of Objects will be like this ...
    *Communication Party or Service
    Communication Channel
    Receiver Determination
    Interface Determaination
    Sender Agreement
    Receiver Agreement*
Business scenario is used when a scenario is developed using BPM's
Based on your needs, you can select from the following service types:
Business System: Address a particular business system as the sender or receiver of messages.
A business system is an actual application system in a system landscape. A business system
(service) comprises information about the inbound and outbound interfaces and the software
component versions of the business system. The business system services are used when
    configuring internal company processes.
Business Service: Address an abstract business entity as the sender or receiver of messages.
Using a business service, you can define the technical or business subunits of the companies
involved and then assign them the relevant interfaces. The business services are used when
    configuring cross-company processes.
Business Process or Integration Process Service:  Address an integration process as the sender or receiver of messages.
    Prerequisites
The business system must be entered in the SLD.
A communication party has been created.
1Create Business System as Service with Party
    Procedure
    1. In the Configuration: Integration Builder, navigate to Objects tab.
    2. Expand Party.
    3. Right-click on Business System and choose Assign Business System.
    4. In Business System Wizard, skip the step 1 Introduction by choosing Continue.
    5. In step 2 Assign Party, for example, enter Buyer.
    6. In step 3, select systems from the list that you want to define as the business system
    service.
    7. Choose Finish.
Create Business Service as Service with Party
    Procedure
    1. In the Configuration: Integration Builder, navigate to Objects tab.
    2. Expand Party.
    3. Right-click on Business Service and choose New.
    4. In the Create Object Wizard, choose a communication party. For example, select
    Seller.
    5. Enter a service name, for example, PCK_Service.
    6. Enter a description for the service.
    7. Choose Create and Save.
After Creating the Systems u need to choose the Adapter based on the scenario.. we call this as communication channel, and we shuld configure the communication channel to fetch the file from the source and to drop the files to the target directory..
Then it should follow with Logical Routing and Collaboration Agreements..
Logical Routing consists with Receiver Determination and Interface Determination
Collaboration Agreements consists with Sender Agreement and Receiver Agreement..
In Receiver Determination u have to specift the what are all the receivers that are going to receive the message and u have a provision of delivering the message based on the payload by using an option of condition editor.
In Interface determination u will be specifying the Interface mapping which was developed in the design in between Outbound and Inbound Interfaces
In Sender agreement we give the communication channel which is developed in the sender side w.r.t the business system/service.
In Receiver agreement we give the communication channel which is developed in the receiver side w.r.t the business system/service.
for further clarifiction revert back with the queries..

  • SOAP adapter without any querystring

    Hi,
I have to configure communication from an Axis2c client to PI soap adapter. Unfortantly the Axis2c application strips the url after the question mark, it is thereby not possible to specify a service and channel. Are the any alternatives to use SOAP or HTTP without a question mark like defining the url without it?
I know it is a bit weird, so we migth find an other solution.
    /daniel

    Hi
Simple answer is NO, it is not possible (without party/channel/ service etc to process the request)
but it is worth a try to check if the URL encoding works.. though I have not tried..
for example sending the hex value of the "?" -   %3F%
URL is a generic topic, you can search that to get more information

  • SOAP Adapter without SOAP envelope sets contenttype to application/xml

    Hi,
I wrote a adaptermodul for the SOAP adapter to create a SOAP:HEADER.
I disable the SOAP envelope in the communication channel.
Now I get a error from the WebService Provider because the SOAP Adapter sends with Content-Type application/xml and not text/xml. I set the content-type in the adapter module but it seens to not work.
How can I correct this ?

  • Sender configuration incomplete - perhaps AS2ID missing...

    Hello,
We have an PI 7.11 system. Our scenario is outbound IDOC to AS2 (converted to EDIFACT). It is from R/3 --> PI --> Third Party. We installed SeeBurger adapters.
R/3 is in our landscape, its component created without Party.
Receiver is a Third Party. So its component created with Party. In party we have defined  Agency and Scheme Name as "Seeburger", "AS2ID", "XXX".
We also have done Receiver Agreement Header Mapping only for Receiver Communication Party and Receiver Communication Component.
When we try to send a message, getting below error at audit log.
Our Sender system is R/3, therefore we cant define a Party for it. What should be resolve this issue?
