Communications data: Could not send SLD data - still not resolved
Hello,
SAPMMC shows this error in my PI system while startup.
RZ70, Visual Admin -> SLD Data Supplier are OK and SLD has my ABAP - Java systems registered.
What can be causing this when everything works fine?
Thanks
Gökhan
Yes,
It is critical to obtain a connection to the SLD as XI will access and maintain the central data from this SLD. Since you have mentioned that it is a fresh installation, check all the post-installation steps again. Check for the SLD connections in the RFC destination. Check if the SLD data supplier you have created for XI is working fine. Check the connections from SLD to SAP are fine.
Award if helpful.

Sarath.

Steps for the ReconstructionThanks for the reply.
The log is set by audit department.
Actually the log is caused by a script of mine which uses sapinfo.exe.
I used it to check if the sap services and database is running.
So my doubts is:
Since the log show that the user is not allowed to call the function module, how come my script is able to query that the sap service and database is alive.
Kindly advice pls. -

when i try to install oracle 10g i find this problem i wish you help meIn the future please work from a command line and use copy and paste to put commands and results in your posts. Many people's corporate nets block access to blog sites.
I have recently blogged extensively on this very subject. See edstevensdba.wordpress.com. I can't post a link to the exact article, because my corporate website blocks access to blog sites. I have also, many many times posted on this error in this forum, which a cursory search would have turned up. But once again, back by popular request:
=================================
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
This error means one thing, and one thing only. The client could not find the specified entry in the tnsnames.ora file being used.
As a follow-on to that statement, remember that when you use a dblink, the database in which the link is defined is acting as a client to the database that is the target of the link. So in this case, the tnsnames.ora file on the host of your source should have an entry for your target db, as defined in the db_link.
And for the umpteenth time ... this error has NOTHING to do with the status of a listener. The connection request never got far enough to reach a listener. If anyone tells you to check a listener in response to ora-12154, they are not paying attention, or do not understand how TNS works. This error is the equivalent of not being able to place a telephone call because you don't know the number of the party you want to reach. You wouldn't debug that situation by going to the other guy's house and testing his telephone, or by going to the phone company and testing the switchboard. And you don't debug a ORA-12154 by checking the listener. If I had a top ten list of "Incredibly Simple Concepts (tm)" that should be burned into the brain of everyone who claims to be an Oracle DBA, it would include "ORA-12154 Has Nothing To Do With The Listener".
=================================
A couple of important points.
First, the listener is a server side only process. It's entire purpose in life is to receive requests for connections to databases and set up those connections. Once the connection is established, the listener is out of the picture. It creates the connection. It doesn't sustain the connection. One listener, with the default name of LISTENER, running from one oracle home, listening on a single port, will serve multiple database instances of multiple versions running from multiple homes. It is an unnecessary complexity to try to have multiple listeners or to name the listener as if it belongs to a particular database. That would be like the telephone company building a separate switchboard for each customer.
Additional notes on the listener: One listener is capable of listening on multiple ports. But please notice that it is the listener using these ports, not the database instance. You can't bind a specific listener port to a specific db instance. Similarly, one listener is capable of listnening on multiple IP addresses (in the case of a server with multiple NICs) But just like the port, you can't bind a specific ip address to a specific db instance.
Second, the tnsnames.ora file is a client side issue. It's purpose is for address resolution - the tns equivalent of the 'hosts' file further down the network stack. The only reason it exists on a host machine is because that machine can also run client processes.
Assume you have the following in your tnsnames.ora:
larry =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = myhost)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = curley)
)Now, when you issue a connect, say like this:
$> sqlplus scott/tiger@larrytns will look in your tnsnames.ora for an entry called 'larry'. Finding it, tns sends a request through the normal network stack to (PORT = 1521) on (HOST = myhost) using (PROTOCOL = TCP), asking for a connection to (SERVICE_NAME = curley).
Where is (HOST = myhost) on the network? When the request gets passed from tns to the next layer in the network stack, the name 'myhost' will get resolved to an IP address, either via a local 'hosts' file, via DNS, or possibly other less used mechanisms. You can also hard-code the ip address (HOST = 123.456.789.101) in the tnsnames.ora.
Next, the standard networking process delivers the message to port 1521 on myhost. Hopefully, there is a listener on myhost configured to listen on port 1521, and that listener knows about SERVICE_NAME = curley. If so, the listener will spawn a server process to act as the intermediary between your client and the database instance. Communication to the server process will be on a randomly selected available port. At that point the listener is out of the process and continues to user port 1521 to await other connection requests.
What can go wrong?
First, there may not be an entry for 'larry' in your tnsnames. In that case you get "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified" No need to go looking for a problem on the host, with the listener, etc. If you can't place a telephone call because you don't know the number (can't find your telephone directory (tnsnames.ora) or can't find the party you are looking for listed in it (no entry for larry)) you don't look for problems at the telephone switchboard.
Maybe the entry for larry was found, but myhost couldn't be resolved to an IP address (say there was no entry for myhost in the local hosts file). This will result in "ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist"
Maybe there was an entry for myserver in the local hosts file, but it specified a bad IP address. This will result in "ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist"
Maybe the IP was good, but there is no listener running: "ORA-12541: TNS:no listener"
Maybe the IP was good, there is a listener at myhost, but it is listening on a different port. "ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error"
Maybe the IP was good, there is a listener at myhost, it is listening on the specified port, but doesn't know about SERVICE_NAME = curley. "ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor"
Third: If the client is on the same machine as the db instance, it is possible to connect without referencing tnsnames and without going through the listener.
Now, when you issue a connect, say like this:
$> sqlplus scott/tigertns will attempt to establish an IPC connection to the db instance. How does it know the name of the instance? It uses the current value of the enviornment variable ORACLE_SID. So...
$> export ORACLE_SID=fred
$> sqlplus scott/tigerIt will attempt to connect to the instance known as "fred". If there is no such instance, it will, of course, fail. Also, if there is no value set for ORACLE_SID, the connect will fail.
check executing instances to get the SID

ERROR:
ORA-12162: TNS:net service name is incorrectly specifiedOk, that is how we get from the client connection request to the listener. What about the listener's part of all this?
The listener is very simple. It's job is to listen for connection requests and make the connection (server process) between the client and the database instance. Once that connection is made, the listener is out of the picture. If you were to kill the listener, all existing connections would continue. The listener is configured with the listener.ora file, but if that file doesn't exist, the listener is quite capable of starting up with all default values. One common mistake with the listner configuration is to specify "HOST=localhost" or "HOST=127.0.01". This is a NONROUTABLE ip address. LOCALHOST and ip address 127.0.0.1 always mean "this machine on which I am sitting". So, all computers are known as "localhost" or "127.0.0.1". If you specify this address, the listener will only be capable of receiving requests from the machine on which it is running. If you specified that address in your tnsnames file - on a remote client machine - the request would be routed to the machine on which the requesting client resides. Probably not what you want.

Ora-12154 Could not resolve the connect Identifier specified
Wher i wrong......Hello,
I have not used Oracle Gateway for a long time, but did you try to rename the file D:\product\11.2.0\tg\dg4msql\admin\initdg4msql.ora into D:\product\11.2.0\tg\dg4msql\admin\initdg4dmssqldb.ora ?
initdg4msql.ora is the default name, and should be changed if you do not use dg4msql as gateway SID:

Hope it will help.

MSDAORA,IIS,ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
Hi All,
I have a Web Service that coded in VS2008, using ORACLE DB(9i).
At a time the application working fine and I can access and do everything with database.
Some other time database server is down for scheduled maintenance. If I try to run the application at this point of time it will raise err "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name".
When i reset iis it start to work fine for a while.Then same problem occurs again.
My connection string is connectionString="provider=MSDAORA.1;data source=***;user id=***;password=***;"
is there any solution?
i tried that;
If theire is multiple copies of OCIW32.dll you have to make sure that there is only one copy of OCIW32.dll which should be in /Bin folder of the oracle home folder.
Add the IUSR_machine name account and the IWAM_machine name account to the Oracle home folder. Give both accounts full control.
Create empty file tnsnames.ora in same directory as aspnet_wp.exe,Hi,
The issue doesnt make much sense on the surface at least. 12154 means the client couldnt figure out what you were referring to with your Data Source= entry. If the database was taken down, I'd expect an "oracle not available" or some other sort of error, as the client should have still be able to resolve the entry at least, even if the database wasnt up at the time.
What do you mean by "When i reset iis it start to work fine for a while.Then same problem occurs again."? The same problem meaning you get 12154 when you take the database down? Or you get 12154 without a db restart?
Are you using TNSNames.ora for client naming resolution, or something else (ldap, for example)?

Hi guys,
I tried to execute a package with Oracle Data Source from Integration Services Catalogs and I got the following error.
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
The package runs fine from the SSIS project but once I deploy to SSIS Catalog it fails to run. I need help!
Thanks
meHello ,
The ORA-12154 is a very common error, always related to your local copy of the tnsnames.ora file, your listener configuration and your database name aliases.
Make sure that your listener is listening for the same service name that you are using.
Your service name might have an alias, so check for global (world) entries and local entries. Check:
$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora
Check your global_name setting with this SQL:
select * from global_name;

"Could not resolve a persistence unit" error...
Hello,
I created a Netbeans Visual Web application. I added an Entity Class from a database table. A resource is added into Server Resources part. when I look at its properties, I see that it's JNDI name is set to "bitkiwiki" and I check the Sun Application Server's JDBC Resources and I see "bitkiwiki" in JDBC Resources.
My controller class has a EntityManagerFactory element:
@PersistenceUnit(unitName = "bitkiwiki")
private EntityManagerFactory emf;When I compile the project it compiles successfully but when I deploy it, I get an error like this:
Deploying application in domain failed; Deployment Error -- Could not resolve a persistence unit corresponding to the persistence-unit-ref-name .......
The Persistance UnitName exists in the server resources but it still complains about it.
What's the problem you think?
Thanks.In the persistence.xml you have something like this:
<persistence-unit name="EJBCustomerPU" transaction-type="JTA">
<jta-data-source>cust</jta-data-source>
<properties>
</properties>
</persistence-unit>
The unitName in the annotation should equal "EJBCustomerPU". I think the "bitkiwiki" is wrong. The "cust" in the above persistence.xml should be the resource you mention in the jdbc section of the app server admin. -

When using a dblink, the database with the link is acting as a client to the remote database ... exactly like sqlplus running on the db server.

Problem with child tag - Could not resolve x to a component implementation.
Hello.
I am writing some chart component and got a problem setting property via child tag. Property is a custom class.
My directory structure:
Makefile oxcharts Session.vim stats.as stats.mxml stats.swf
./oxcharts:
ColumnChart.as MyTest.as
stats.mxml:
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" xmlns:oxcharts="oxcharts.*">
<oxcharts:ColumnChart id="myChart" showDataTips="true" width="600" height="310">
<oxcharts:test x="5"></oxcharts:test>
</oxcharts:ColumnChart>
</mx:Application>
ColumnChart.as:
package oxcharts {
public class ColumnChart extends UIComponent {
public var test:MyTest;
MyTest.as:
package oxcharts {
public class MyTest {
public var x:Number;
I got this error:
Error: Could not resolve <oxcharts:test> to a component implementation.
I guess something wrong with imports. Setting Number property via child tag works just fine.I'm gonna give a clerear example, I hope it'll help you better understand what I mean let's say I have a custom class named Login:
package ec
[Bindable]
public class Login
public var ID:int;
public var Role:String;
public function Login()
And I need to use this class within MyAmazingCanvas, so my main app will be like this:

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" xmlns:oxcharts="ec.*">
<mx:Script>

import ec.Login;
[Bindable]
private var myLoginStatus:Login=new Login();
private function setLoginData():void{
myLoginStatus.ID=myID.text
myLoginStatus.Role=myRole.text;

</mx:Script>
<oxcharts:MyAmazingCanvas id="myCustomComp" myPublicNumber="323" LoginStatus="{myLoginStatus}" />
<mx:TextInput id="myID" />
<mx:TextInput id="myRole" />
<mx:Button id="setData" label="Set Data" click="setLoginData()" />
</mx:Application>
When I said at the top level I meant outside the scope of any function, altough is not a requierement, you can as well set it at a function level. -
Could not resolve mx:AdvancedDataGrid to a component implementation
Hi, I receive this error msg: "Could not resolve
<mx:AdvancedDataGrid> to a component implementation" whenever
i try to compile my application using the Flex 3 application
command line compile tool.
I've gone through the folder where i exctracted the Flex 3
SDK beta 2 I downloaded some 3 days ago and even in the "
extract_path\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\controls"
folder there was no AdvancedDataGrid component files in it. Yet all
the other component files metadata indicate "24 September 2007" as
their last modified date, meaning that i downloaded the most recent
build, right?
Please, I would greatly appreciate it if anyone can help me
resolve this issue, as a deadline is looming large for me.
Thanks.AdvancedDataGrid is part of the datavisualization.swc and
this SWC is not part of the SDK.
Download FlexBuilder and install it. Copy the SWC into the
SDK libs folder from the installation folder of FB.
It would be located under
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder
3\sdks\3.0.0\frameworks\libs
assuming FB is installed in C drive using default options. -
Could not resolve s:MobileApplication to a component implementation
Hi
I have used the latest version of launchpad to generate a project which I then opened in Flash Builder 4. When I tried to compile this an error came up...
Can anyone help?
Bruce.You need to have Flash Builder Burrito installed. It's a preview release with mobile support. You can find it on labs.adobe.com
Thanks!

TNS: could not resolve service name
ERROR: ORA-12154: TNS: could not resolve service name
does any1 know what this means...and how to overcome this problem
username : scott
passwd: tiger
host string: myora
i have personal oracle8i in d:\oracle
and d2k in d:\d2k
it connects with the SQLPlus
however with d2k when i try to connect it gives the above error
message.
does any 1 know a solution to the problem...Hello,
First of all, If you are using PO8i and D2k as a front end
on single machine,no need of specifying Connect String. You can
connect using scott,tiger. If still it is giving problem,try
this one.
Open TNSNAMES.ORA file from folder NET80/Admin in your PC
using NOTEPAD. Look there entry for myora. If it is there,Check
SID,IPAddress or remove word "World" from there. See E.g
ora816 = -- Your connect string
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS =
(COMMUNITY = tcp.world)
(PROTOCOL = TCP)
(Host = 10.0.0.3) -- IP address
(Port = 1521)
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = ora816) -- Database SID
Hope it will work...

MS Access .mdb connection using ODBC could not resolve the connect identifier ORA-12154
Dear All,
I'm trying to use MS Access .mdb file as source to my OWB application. I need to connect to the ms access .mdb file first using odbc. Here are the step I do:
1. Define ODBC connectifity
control panel -> admin tools -> data sources -> System DSN -> Add
Choose Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) -> Finish
Data source name: msaccess -> Database: Select -> .mdb file location (C:\MSAccess\att2000..mdb)
2. Configure Listener
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = CLRExtProc)
(ORACLE_HOME = C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1)
(PROGRAM = extproc)
(ENVS = "EXTPROC_DLLS=ONLY:C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\oraclr11.dll")

(SID_NAME = msaccess
(ORACLE_HOME = C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1)

(SID_NAME = msaccess
(ORACLE_HOME = C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1)
(PROGRAM = hsodbc)
ADR_BASE_LISTENER = C:\app\Administrator
3. Configure Oracle HS
File name initmsaccess.ora
# HS init parameters
HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = msaccess
HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = 1
# Environment variables required for the non-Oracle system
#set <envvar>=<value>
4. Edit tnsnames.ora
msaccess=
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = localhost)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID=msaccess)
(SERVICE_NAME=msaccess)
(HS=OK)
5. create database link
create database link msaccess using 'msaccess';
6. Run a query to test connection
SQL> select * from departments@msaccess;
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
I check the tns using tnsping msaccess, it return

ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier
I am simply trying to move a site from a Windows 2003 32bit server to a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit. The database was on and is remaining on the 2008 server. Trying to run the new site results in:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier
This error pops up more than a few times in the forums but do not seem unique to my situation where I know the connection string works fine from another server. Any insights?Working
