Compact 2013 Interrupt Issue Solved

As flagged as a comment to the post here, "My iST isn't called", there is a solution in the pipeline (as an update) for ARM interrupt issue. The issue is that interrupts that are close to timer ticks get lost.  There is a complete discussion
of this on my blog at:

    Exchange 2013 Migration issues
    I have three issues and decided to list them here. Please pick and choose to assist. Thanks in advance.
    Environment:
    Mixed 2007 SP3 R12 and 2013 CU3. 2007 Environment was webmail.domain.com. I installed new Exchange 2013 (1 CAS, 1 Mailbox) according to:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff805032(v=exchg.150).aspx. Exchange 2007 is now legacy.domain.com and Exchange 2013 CAS is webmail.domain.com.
    Machine 1: Windows 8.1, not domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere external. Outlook 2013
    Machine 2: Windows 7, domain joined, using Outlook Anywhere internal. Outlook 2010 SP2
    I have migrated 1 user so far to Exchange 2013. This user was a Domain Admin. I have removed that membership. I checked the box to inherit permissions of the security of the object and reset the AdminCount attribute in ADSIedit to 0 and verified this replicated
    to all domain controllers. ( I originally thought this to be the issue with it prompting for the password. )
    Here is a Get-OutlookAnywhere cmdlet...

    ISSUE 1
    Issue: On Machine 1 (reference above) Windows Security prompt that says "Connecting to
    [email protected]". Almost always prompts when Outlook is first opened. Afterwards (if it goes away) seemingly random on when it asks for it. I put in the credentials (absolutely correct) and it fails and prompts again.
    I always check the box for it to save the password. To get rid of it, I click the Cancel button at which Outlook reports "NEED PASSWORD", but still acts fine sending and receiving emails. Eventually the "NEED PASSWORD" sometimes changes
    to say "CONNECTED", but it works regardless.
    No issues on Machine 2 so I don't know where the problem might be as there are a lot of variables in play here.
    ISSUE 2
    Migrated user is unable to open Public folders from Exchange 2007.
    Cannot expan the folder. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance. (/o=...).
    This error occurs on Machine 1, Machine 2 and from OWA, same error each time.
    ISSUE 3
    Apps. Installed by default are 4 apps (Bing Maps, Suggested Meetings, Unsubscribe, Action Items). I have made sure the apps are enabled in OWA and they show up in mail items on both Machine 1 (Outlook 2013) and OWA. They do not show up in Machine 2 (Outlook
    2010). I'm assuming that isn't supported.
    In OWA, when I go to the installed apps listing it shows all of the apps but has a broken link on the image describing the app.
    When I click the app in either Outlook 2013 or in OWA, I get "APP ERROR, Sorry we can't load the app. Please make sure you have network and/or internet connectivity. Click "Retry" once you're back online.
    Current workaround is just disabling them through OWA.

    Hello,
    In order to avoid confusion, we troubleshoot a issue per thread usually.
    For your first isue, I agree with Ed's suggestion to check if your certificate name is correct.
    Besides, I recommend you change ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod from Basic authentication to Negotiate authentication to check the result.
    For the second issue and third issue, please create a new post.

  • OTA Update 4.08.605.2 "Rebooting Now..." Issue - SOLVED!

    After so many tries and frustration I finally came across the information below and it worked like a charm
    http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-droid-incredible/134246-second-gb-update-patch-wont-reboot-issue-solved.html
    Can't say this will work for everyone, but it worked for me.
    Boot into recovery
    Press and hold Power, Choose "Restart" option
    When screen turns off, press and hold Volume Down and Power
    When the white HBOOT screen appears, use the volume button to move down to “RECOVERY.”
    Press the Power button to select “RECOVERY.”
    When the triangle and exclamation appears, hold the Volume Up and Power button at the same time.
    Using the volume button, scroll down to “Wipe cache partition” and select it.
    Select "Reboot system now"
    You can now wait for the update to show up again, or try one of the methods in the post: For those who want the second GB update/patch to get the update again. It should reboot this time. Beware, it will stay at the Droid Eye screen after reboot for a while (~5 mins), but eventually, it did get installed. Be sure to make a lot of space for it though...

    The restart option that AmDroid is talking about is not on the regular phone menu. Please read his post carefully. What he is talking about is in an advanced recovery based menu option.
    Also, I was on 2.2 and the clear cache set date and time forward trick did not work for me to get the udpate. The clear cache and set date and time forward trick seems to mostly work if you are already on 4.06 software version and want to get the 4.08 software version.
    For those on 2.2, patience is warranted! However, if you really cant wait and want to go the 4.06 update manually, you can search Android Forums dot com for manually install gingerbread. And don't worry about the article talking about being rooted. You dont need to be rooted. The instructions will work for a stock phone too. As soon as you do the manual 4.06, the 4.08 update will show up immediately.
    Hope this helps!

    What language are you talking about? You might need to enable Edit/Preferences/Type/Middle Eastern and South Asian for proper display.

  • Developing Windows Embedded Compact Application (installation issues)

    I want to develop an application for a device running Windows Embedded Compact 7
    I have downloaded the Application Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 2013 (VSEmbedded_AppBuilder.exe) from here and installed it on my machine
    I am following the instructions from
    this page which says that there should be a "Windows Embedded Compact" node within the New Project dialog box. There isn't
    Additionally, if I launch VSEmbedded_AppBuilder.exe I get a window that only gives you the option to Repair or Uninstall and displays no information other information other than the fact that it is the Application Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 2013
    that you are trying to run
    I have tried repairing and uninstalling and it doesn't help. I have also tried restarting my pc between installing and opening visual studio. Doesn't help either
    What am I missing here?
    I'm running Visual Studio 2012 Professional on a Windows 7 machine. All I want to do is build an application for my Windows Embedded Compact 7 device
    Thanks

    You say that your device is running Compact 7
    You downloaded a Visual Studio plug in for Compact 2013
    You provided links to Compact 2013 documentation and tools
    Since your device is running Compact 7, it would make sense to target your app to run on Compact 7 - if you target Compact 2013, your app
    will not run.
    You will need to install Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 - which one depends on what you plan to do.

  • GetWindowLong/SetWindowLong on GWL_WNDPROC crashes in Compact 2013

    Trying to hook on the WndProc in CE 6.0 worked fine by defining a callback function and putting it on the control. In Compact 2013 it seems to not work anymore. For example I have a textbox and try the following where the Handle is the textbox Handle:
    [DllImport("coredll.dll", SetLastError = true)]
    static extern IntPtr SetWindowLong(IntPtr hWnd, int nIndex, IntPtr newProc);
    [DllImport("coredll.dll", SetLastError = true)]
    static extern IntPtr GetWindowLong(IntPtr hWnd, int nIndex);
    delegate IntPtr WndProcDelegate(IntPtr hWnd, uint msg, IntPtr wParam, IntPtr lParam);
    private void HookOnWndProc()
    m_defWindowProc = GetWindowLong(Handle, GWL_WNDPROC);
    m_windowProc = new WndProcDelegate(Callback);
    SetWindowLong(Handle, GWL_WNDPROC, Marshal.GetFunctionPointerForDelegate(m_windowProc));
    (GWL_WNDPROC is -4)
    I see that after calling GetWindowLong the latest win32 error is 87 (invalid parameter). After returning from the function above the application crashes. This did not happen in CE6. What has changed?
    Note: This seems to only occur on our SabreLite ARM image. If anyone get this same problem on another ARM image, please let me know.

    Basically we did this:
    // C++ side
    WNDPROC managedProc;
    // Export this function from your DLL. Call it instead of SetWindowLong
    LONG CustSetWindowLong(HWND hWnd, int nIndex, LONG dwNewLong) {
    if (nIndex != GWL_WNDPROC) return SetWindowLong(hWnd, nIndex, dwNewLong);
    managedProc = reinterpret_cast<WNDPROC>(dwNewLong);
    return SetWindowLong(hwnd, GLW_WNDPROC, &::NativeWndProc);
    LRESULT CALLBACK NativeWndProc(HWND hWnd, UINT msg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam) { // do not use CallWindowProc here
    return managedProc(hwnd, msg, wParam, lParam);
    (Actually we had some more plumbing to deal with the case that multiple managed controls might want to call CustSetWindowLong, but this should illustrate the workaround).

  • WinCE 2013 SMP issue

    Dear All,
      We are trying to port Windows CE 2013 on to Cortex A7 dual core processor (A20). While the OS is working fine in single CPU mode, when we enabled SMP, the system starts to hang. It may hang any time between 5 seconds to 100 seconds of booting up the
    secondary CPU.
      50% of the time it hangs when the main CPU0 sends an IPI (as SGI) and waits for the other CPU1 to respond. And it seems CPU1 is lost and it is not receiving the interrupt at all. Other times it just hangs. But no exceptions are thrown. My understanding
    is that any one or both of the cores just got locked for some reasons.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Senthil

    Ah yes, integrated L2 on A7, so SCTRL.C/I will disable it all (and even if no integration C/I disables it all).
    I still think it will be both are waiting in MDSpin, but without a JTAG debugger there is simply no way of knowing. You will have to get one to get to the bottom of this one. I recommend getting the Power Debug II from Lauterbach, simply because of the excellent
    support you get from the guys at Lauterbach.
    Of course you should try with a fully updated WEC2013 installation, but I doubt this will solve your issue.
    Good luck,

  • Still: Macbook Air 2013 Wifi Issues On Wake-Up (And Partial Solution)

    I just got my new MBA 13" Mid 2013 last week (updated to Mavericks), and have been having issues with the wifi for a couple days now. Specifically, when I wake my MBA in the morning, it will have disconnected from my home wifi and will not reconnect again. It can see the wifi (and it did ask the WPA2 password after I deleted the network in preferences), but it will not connect due to a "Connection timeout".
    I didn't have these issues with my old MBP 13' Early 2011 (also running Mavericks). Also, this only started after I had fully set up my MBA and replaced my MBP, that is, connected it to the external display, hard drive, etc.
    Now, it turns out what I have to do is disconnect my external hard drive and reconnect to the network. What kind of architecture makes something like this even possible? And it's not just me, https://discussions.apple.com/message/23423481#23423481 had the same problem: needing to remove a USB device in order to be able to reconnect to his wifi.
    This reminds me that with my old MBP, I had an issue where copying large data volumes to external drives via USB would render the wifi connection unusable. So apparently there is something about Macbook architecture that links USB and wifi.
    But why does this only occur after a full night of the MBA sleeping? I guess it would have to drop the wifi for energy saving, which it doesn't do right away whenever it goes to sleep?
    In any way, this is extremely frustrating. What is the deal with USB and wifi in Macbooks? I really hope Apple can fix this via a software solution, but to be honest, I don't trust them to anymore. I guess for them this is "working as intended".
    Cheers
    Nate
    PS: Please, do not post any links to "troubleshooting steps I may find helpful". I do not, because they were not.

    It turns out the MBA doesn't even have to go to sleep for this to happen.
    Today i received a new HDD for my time machine backups, so some data transfer was necessary. I made a 600GB backup from my Mac and an external hdd I use for media files, then i started copying another 500 Gb from one external drive to another (USB to USB).
    Now in the middle of this transfer (which is rather slow to begin with at around 46 MB/s) my wifi connection just went out. My iPhone, iPad and Windows PC can still connect to my router, but the Mac tells me to "move closer" to it.
    It's interesting that my Mac can no longer see any other wifis besides my own, so I guess it's wifi range is somehow impeded by these USB transfers? How does that even work?
    At around 50% the data transfer had come to a complete halt, so I interrupted the process. Two seconds after I had ejected AND unplugged both external drives, the MBA could "see again". All visible wifis were listed again and I could connect without problem.
    Is there anyone with a similar experience? Is this a hardware defect or an architectural problem? Why have I had these USB/wifi-issues on two Macbook models spaced lmost three years apart?

  • Currently using Outlook 2010. It started acting up today. If I purchase 2013, will it solve my problem, or could the problem be coming from a corrupt PST file?

    I use outlook 2010. It has been working perfectly. Today I got an error message that I never "caught" quickly enough. Something about a fax ad on not working properly and I should contact the ad on people. Ever since then, my outlook is not working
    properly. When I create an e-mail a box appears, similar to a text box but with nothing inside. I cant type in the box, and can therefore not send out e-mails. Will buying 2013 outlook solve my issue?

    Hi there
    I’m sorry to hear that you have been unable to access your voicemail!
    It seems like due to the SIM switch, the voicemail service has temporarily been put into an inactive state. When swapping between devices, this will occur and requires re-setting up the voicemail service. Your unheard and saved messages would not be affected. Are you currently still in the Hong Kong area?
    Thanks,
    Charise

  • SSRS/SharePoint Migration 2010 to 2013 connection issues

    We are currently attempting to move our SharePoint 2010 to 2013 and SSRS Information. The first attempt at this we were unable to get SSRS to show up in Central Admin. We decided to rebuild all servers and re-installed everything.
    This time we have SSRS showing up in Central admin and we are able to run some reports from our sites now. In our 2010 environment we are using "Windows authentication (integrated) or Sharepoint user" option with SharePoint Lists. I am unable to
    get this to work in our 2013 Environment, the stored credentials with windows authentication will work however.
    I have read t through many different books, MS Guides, Blogs, Forums, etc but unable to solve this issue.
    I have tried editing the rsreportserver.config to match our Production, did not help. (also tried different authentications)
    I found an article saying to change the "Forms" Auth in some config files to "Windows" did not help
    When I try to go to our \\localserver\reportserver (appserver) I get a blank page with this info:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Server: Microsoft-IIS/8.5
    Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2014 22:30:03 GMT
    Connection: close
    I have tried going into Central Admin -> General Application Settings -> Report Server Integration. and fill out this information also but receive this error:
    Failed to establish connection with report server. Verify the server URL is correct or review ULS logs for more information. Product area: SQL Server Reporting Services, Category: Configuration
    Pages
    I am not sure if I have missed some step along the way of migrating and setting up this information. Any help or other things to try would be very helpful.
    Thanks!

    Hi young99,
    According to your description, you get connection issue after migration from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013. Right?
    In this scenario, we are not clear how you did the migration. Please follow these steps and check if you miss anything:
    Restore Reporting Services encryption keys
    Backup the SharePoint content databases and detach it.
    Backup Reporting Services catalog database.
    Copy Reporting Services configuration files.
    Restore SharePoint Content databases to the new farm.
    Restore the Reporting Servicesencryption keys.
    Restore the SQL database that is the Reporting Services catalog database (ReportServer).
    Restore Reporting Services configuration files.
    Create a new Reporting Services service application.
    For more information, please see:
    Migrate a Reporting Services Installation (SharePoint Mode)
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    I'll gladly post any other configs or logs if needed. Any suggestions to get this fixed?

    I "fixed" it. Apparently the newer udev versions (>151) don't work properly with xen.
    Solution: Downgrade to udev-151.
    In my case, I downloaded http://schlunix.org/archlinux/core/os/x … pkg.tar.gz and ran: pacman -U /path/to/udev-151-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz
    I then restarted and my errors went away.
    Hopefully this helps someone!

  • SBS2011/Exchange 2010 + Outlook 2013 Flow Issues

    Hi everybody,
    Some time ago I've configured a SBS2011 server for one of my customers.
    The SBS2011 has exchange and sharepoint, these services work fine.
    The exchange server is only being used for the calendars, no e-mail flow.
    The company uses IMAP through an external hosting-server.
    So in Outlook 2013 we configure 2 accounts, one exchange account and one IMAP account.
    Configuring the clients isn't a problem, and all seems fine, the calendar works.
    But when the e-mail flow starts, users wil receive the same email multiple times and it seems the system is in a loop. E-mail flow will stop or the users get the same e-mails multiple times.
    I've checked multiple solution regarding Win8+Outlook 2013 and IMAP, (issue about an update and setting the right root folder), but nothing seems to help.
    We installed Outlook 2007 on the clients and configured them with both of the accounts and the system works like a charm! E-mail and the calendar are working like it should.
    But the company bought about 20 Office 2013 licenses, so we need to get this to work on the new Outlook.
    I don't think there is a problem in the Exchange Server, but in Outlook 2013, possible because both of the accounts share the same OST file.
    Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Been running my mind for months.
    With kind regards,
    Tim Grave

    Hi,
    Based on the description, I understand Outlook uses the calendar via Exchange and email via IMAP, so there are two accounts setup in Outlook 2013, correct? Then how come they share the same .ost file? Please try to configure an individual .ost file
    for both accounts, check whether the issue persists.

    It's recommended to download and install
    Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office
