Compare, calculate time from database in applet

how can i calculate or compare time from database (access) in applet

how can i calculate or compare time from database
(access) in appletDepends on what you mean. If you mean data in the database, then you extract it into a date object and use the methods of that object and/or the Calendar class.
If you mean something else, then no.

  • Run time from database

    CA Forum: Administration
    Hello,Does anybody  know how to check run time of reports (CE10) directly from database?I can do it using Instance Manager, but when you have 400 reports running recursively it is difficult to have statistics for each of them. Thanks in advance!bwrobel

    Did you ever find a solution to this problem?  I have the same problem when moving reports from development to Test to Production environments.  If the DBName is not the same the report ignores the name provided at runtime.

    It doesn't make sense to read a database directly from an applet. If an applet needs data from a database is should request if from the server which the applet is located on and the server should do the actual database actions.
    The whole point of applets is that they require no installation on the client machine. If you have to change policy files or the like, you might as well install a Swing application. Furthermore accessing a database tends to depend on how the client is set up on the network. Any sensible network has firewall settings that block access to the database ports to any external access (and, again, if you are limiting the facility to a few internal machines then why not just install a program on them).

  • Mysql datetime datatype, from that datetime how can i compar only time part

    Hello i have database table in mysql, there is Datetime datatype column, from that datetime how can i compare only time part .....??
    Thanks in advance...

    Note you can't simply just compare time via equality however.
    Timestamp resolution is to the second or even milli-second. No user wants to match a time to an exact millisecond.
    What they want is something like a match by hour - for example returning the number of transactions that happened from 1pm to 2pm. Even that isn't completely correct because then you need to consider whether 1pm and/or 2pm is inclusive or exclusive. Normally one end will be inclusive and the other exclusive.
    So first you need to define what the period is.
    Then construct the range.
    Then pass the range and, as already mentioned, use specific functions to handle the extraction of the time.

  • How to change Crystal Reports XI database name at run time from ASP code using ADO

    Dear All,
    I need advises regarding to my problem below
    I have two database in same SQL 2005 SERVER for TEST01 and LIVE01 Environtment, and I've created more than 100 reports with Crystal Reports 11 and call it from ASP classic page.
    The problem is how can I change a database from TEST01 to LIVE01 at the run time from ASP code as I already using TEST01 database on Crystal Reports and I do not want to set a new database location inside crystal for each reports
    Thanks and wait for your reply soon.
    Below is my code, which has no effect to crystal reports although I've change the database from TEST01 to LIVE01:
    <%
    Dim oADOConnection, oRptTable, oADORecordset, sql
    Dim struser, strpwd, strdriver, dblocation, dbname, strConnect
    struser = "sa"
    strpwd = ""
    strdriver = "{SQL SERVER}"
    dblocation = "SQL200501"
    dbname = "LIVE01"    ' Changed from TEST01 to LIVE01
    strConnect = "User Id=" & strUser & ";"
    strConnect = strConnect & "PWD=" & strPwd & ";"
    strConnect = strConnect & "DRIVER=" & StrDriver & ";"
    strConnect = strConnect & "SERVER=" & DBLocation & ";"
    strConnect = strConnect & "DATABASE=" & dbName
    sql="Select * from Employee"
    Set session("oApp") = Server.CreateObject("CrystalRuntime.Application.11")
    Set session("oRpt") = session("oApp").OpenReport("C:\REPORTS\RPT01.RPT", 1) 'USING TEST01 DATABASE
    session("oRpt").MorePrintEngineErrorMessages = False
    session("oRpt").EnableParameterPrompting = False
    session("oRpt").DiscardSavedData
    Set oADOConnection = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    oADOConnection.Open (strConnect)
    Set oADORecordset = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
    Set oRptTable = session("oRpt").Database.Tables.Item(1)
    oRptTable.SetDataSource oADORecordset, 3
    session("oRpt").SQLQueryString = CStr(sql)
    session("oRpt").ReadRecords

    Sorry, but Formscentral doesn't support either a timer function or any kind of calculation. You might be able to do this if created your form in PDF. For help with PDF form creation in Acrobat I suggest you repost your question to the Acrobat Forum.

  • How to get time specification detail from database

    Dear All,
    How can I get the time specification detail from data base?
    Time specification is a 32 bit hexadecimal no type guid_32.
    Function wfd_timespec_reload provide the modified time specification detail.
    FUNCTION wfd_timespecs_reload
    ""Local Interface:
    *"  IMPORTING
    *"     VALUE(I_LOGSYS) TYPE  LOGSYS
    *"     VALUE(I_AWTYP) TYPE  WFD_AWTYP
    *"     VALUE(IT_TIMESPEC_KEYS) TYPE  WFD_KEY_TAB
    *"  EXPORTING
    *"     VALUE(ET_TIMESPEC_DETAILS) TYPE  WFD_TIMESPEC_TAB
    *"     VALUE(ET_INVALID_TIMESPECS) TYPE  WFD_KEY_TAB
    *"     VALUE(ET_CHANGED_TIMESPEC_KEYS) TYPE  WFD_KEY_TAB
    *"     VALUE(ET_RETURN) TYPE  BAPIRET2_T
    This function take time spec from data base not from cache(buffer) so provide the modified time spec in the same session.
    I need any newly created time specification detail also. So I can show all the time spec detail in my function module for any user in the same session.
    Can anyone provide the sample code for it?
    Thanks,
    Anup Garg

    Yes I can see the pattern.
    When I get the set of numbers from database UI doesn't know what is the the list of numbers database has. I need to choose some next available number that is not in database. In the list that u are talking about next available number is 7. Its something similar to when we try to create any mailid, while registration it gives some default id which is not existing which user can choose to create his mailid. How can I get similar feature?

  • Write n then read xml from database to create graph in an applet

    Hi mates
    I have one problem I want show a trend(graph) from sql database which is having the records of about 8600 in a day. And i want to show a graph for a day
    but sometimes it gives a problem like out-of-memory, so can anyone tell me how i can get read of it.
    and other this can i use xml for this means first write a data in xml format from database then read it at sametime and show graph in applet
    can anytell me how to do it
    any suggesion is appreciable
    thanx

    Here's are two example for what you are looking for
    Re: Load xml data in Oracle table
    Re: insert .xml file into xmltype table?
    First you need to create a DIRECTORY object.  That is how Oracle works and it expects a DIRECTORY object instead of a physical path when performing operations that read/write from disk.  The directory path provided to the CREATE DIRECTORY command must be a directory that the machine Oracle DB resides on can see.
    Then you can go either of two routes.  You can INSERT that XML directly into a table, as shown in the second link I provided or you can read it into PL/SQL as the first link shows.  Then in either case, you can use SQL to parse the XML for you.
    Depending upon your needs, you may get better performance if you insert the XML into a table as the second link shows, assuming the XMLType column is stored as SECUREFILE BINARY XML.

  • Time changes when retrived from Database.

    I insert the time in a string format to the database (dd-MM-yyyy hh:mm:ss). I retrive the string from database & parse it to date using .parse(string) function. But the date retrived is not the date present in database.
    Database value is 15/09/2001 01:30:30
    & the retrived value is 21-02-0021 01:30:30
    How do i set the time difference !!!

    Your .parse(string) is for some reason assuming that your date is in yy/mm/dd format. It takes day 2001 of month 9 in year 15 and normalizes that to be day 21 of month 2 in year 21. You haven't said what you are using to parse the string, but if it's a SimpleDateFormat then you need to review how you are setting it up.

  • Urgent : store and retrieve image to oracle database thru applet

    hi all
    i want the code sample for storing the image to oracle database
    development enviornment:
    server : oracle 9i , apache web server
    client : ie6 browser
    i am connecting to oracle database thru applet using oracle jdbc thin driver
    can anyone give me details about storing image to db
    1) what datatype should be used in table for image?
    2) my image files are on client machine... can i directly read those files from browser or first i have to copy those files to server?
    3) .gif files will do or what should be the fileformat?
    4) java code to store it to database (i am using jdk1.3)
    5) how to retrieve it back from database and display it in awt panel ?
    its very urgent ...
    i am doing some r&d and trying to do using blob....
    but it will take some time ...
    i will really be thankful if someone sends detail code....
    thankx in advance ....

    Hi,
    The code below might answer few of your questions.
    There is a restrcition on size of image, it must be less than 4KB.
    //Code to insert image in database
    //mytable is the table name that contains two fields in databse:name,image of type varchar and blob
    Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    Connection con =null ;
    Statement stmt =null ;
    con =DriverManager.getConnection  ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@<hostname>:1521:orclsid", "system","manager");
    PreparedStatement preparedStatement = con.prepareStatement("insert into mytable (name,image) values (?,?)");
    preparedStatement.setString(1,"Amol");
    InputStream inputStream = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("C:\\WINNT\\Temp\\netscape\\images\\menubg.jpg"));
    preparedStatement.setBinaryStream(2, inputStream, inputStream.available());
    preparedStatement.executeUpdate();
    preparedStatement.close();
    inputStream.close(); To retrieve image,here is the snippet
    ResultSet resultSet = stmt.executeQuery("select image from mytable'");
    if (resultSet.next())
    byte[] image1 = resultSet.getBytes("image");
    FileOutputStream fos=new FileOutputStream("c://splash11.jpg"); //will retrieve bytes and create a file
    //by the name specified
    fos.write(image1);

  • Compare two members from the same dimension in HFR

    Hi,
    Is it possibe to compare two members from the same dimension in HFR? The requirement is to compare Year and Week members from the same dimension. The Week date will be selected from POV. The corresponding Year date should be displayed in the report. Week dates are in the format W2008-03-07 and Year dates are in YTD2008-03-07.
    The dates are same except the preceding character.I am unable to compare these two. In my understanding there's no substring or replace functions in HFR.
    Kindly help. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Uma

    Hi,
    How is your database structured? it may be possible to use the 'RelativeMember' function if it will always be the same number of steps between the 'W' member and the 'YTD' member, e.g. if your hierarchy is something like:
    Time
    .Weeks
    ..W2008-03-07
    ..W2008-03-10 etc.. for 52 weeks
    .YTD
    ..YTD2008-03-07
    ..YTD2008-03-10 etc.. for 52 weeks
    In your report select 'Current Point of View for Time' in one row/column and in the other use:
    RelativeMember set up as follows:
    Member: Current Point of View for Time
    Offset: 52

  • Unable to access values from database in login page..

    Hey all,
    Friends I have a login.jsp page and I want if i enter username and password then it will be accessed from database and after verifying the details it will open main.jsp.I made a database as "abc" and created DSN as 1st_login having table 1st_login. But the problem is that I am unable to access values from database.
    So Please help me.
    Following is my code:
    <HTML>
    <body background="a.jpg">
    <marquee>
                        <CENTER><font size="5" face="times" color="#993300"><b>Welcome to the"<U><I>XYZ</I></U>" of ABC</font></b></CENTER></marquee>
              <br>
              <br>
              <br>
              <br><br>
              <br>
         <form name="login_form">
              <CENTER><font size="4" face="times new roman">
    Username
              <input name="username" type="text" class="inputbox" alt="username" size="20"  />
              <br>
         <br>
              Password
              <input type="password" name="pwd" class="inputbox" size="20" alt="password" />
              <br/>
              <input type="hidden" name="option" value="login" />
              <br>
              <input type="SUBMIT" name="SUBMIT" class="button" value="Submit" onClick="return check();"> </CENTER>
              </td>
         </tr>
         <tr>
              <td>
              </form>
              </table>
    <%
    try {
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    Connection connection = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:1st_login");
    Statement statement = connection.createStatement();
    String query = "SELECT username, password FROM 1st_login WHERE username='";
    query += request.getParameter("username") + "' AND password='";
    query += request.getParameter("password") + "';";
    ResultSet resSum = statement.executeQuery(query);
    //change: you gotta move the pointer to the first row of the result set.
    resSum.next();
    if (request.getParameter("username").equalsIgnoreCase(resSum.getString("username")) && request.getParameter("password").equalsIgnoreCase(resSum.getString("password")))
    %>
    //now it must connected to next page..
    <%
    else
    %>
    <h2>You better check your username and password!</h2>
    <%
    }catch (SQLException ex ){
    System.err.println( ex);
    }catch (Exception er){
    er.printStackTrace();
    %>
    <input type="hidden" name="op2" value="login" />
         <input type="hidden" name="lang" value="english" />
         <input type="hidden" name="return" value="/" />
         <input type="hidden" name="message" value="0" />
         <br>
              <br><br>
              <br><br>
              <br><br><br><br><br>
              <font size="2" face="arial" color="#993300">
         <p align="center"> <B>ABC &copy; PQR</B>

    As long as you're unable to compile Java code, please use the 'New to Java' forum. This is really trival.
    To ease writing, debugging and maintenance, I highly recommend you to write Java code in Java classes rather than JSP files. Start learning Servlets.
