Compare date from xml data to new Date() in Repeater
Hi All
I am using repeater and while those following 2 display the
same
(when reaching the current day)
<mx:Label text="{new Date().getDate().toString()}"/>
<mx:Label text="{r.currentItem.dayofmonth}"/>
the following line display nothing
<mx:Label
visible="{r.currentItem.dayofmonth==new
Date().getDay().toString()?
true:false}" text="{new Date().getDate().toString()}"/>
Why? and how can I fix this?
mordsm
Why is it not displaying, because of the text or because of
the visible?
Also, when working with repeater, I advise creating a custom
component and repeat that. Pass in the entire currentItem on a
public property. If you implement the property using getter/setter
function pairs, you can debug the dataflow easily. (note, Property
values are set on a component before its initialize or
creationComplete events fire)
Handlers can access the entire dataProvider item in its
native dataType through the event.currentTarget property.

Problems with codepage after refreshing data from XML
Hello,
I've created a dashboard with XML connection.
XML file with new data is created via macro in INPUT.xls Excel file. This INPUT.xls file was created through exporting spreadsheet from Xcelsius and then adding a macro to it, so text data should be this same codepade. Generated XML through macro have no errors and Flash file gets numeric data with no problems.
But there is other problem with text's codepage. After reload there are some unidentified symbols in place of polish alphabet letters.
What should I do to make it right? Is this a problem with codepage or something else?

If you have any idea hot to fix it, please let me know.
Best regards,
Bart DlugHello,
I have header in my XML as follows:

Only then my XML file is displayed correctly in Internet Explorer preview. When I chagne it to UTF-8 I get some errors.
[XML with windows-1250 codepage|http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Q8NK6X6PPLg/TGkUakDHjlI/AAAAAAAAA_o/lLlJFMcSaFQ/s800/codepage1250.JPG]
[The same XML with UTF-8|http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Q8NK6X6PPLg/TGkUa8k4vyI/AAAAAAAAA_s/tdcZNqu7-i0/s800/codepage-UTF8.JPG]
Error message means: Invalid character was found in text content. Error during processing resourcse file:///
As I wrote before, my data is generated via macro in Excel, so I supose my data in this file has windows default codepage. Am I right?
Do you think that I problem is XML file?

How to send data one row at a time from xml to flex
I want to setTimerEvent while sending data from xml to flex, one row at a time.
I have attached the xml.
Thanks in advance.Hi Greg,
Thanks for the reply. You must have seen the xml which i have attached.Here is the .mxml code which i have written:

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="accountData.send()">
<mx:Script>

import mx.controls.*;
import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
import mx.collections.ArrayCollection;
[Bindable]
private var AccountInformation:ArrayCollection;
private function AccountHandler(evt:ResultEvent):void
AccountInformation = evt.result.xml.AccInfo;
private function faultHandler(evt:FaultEvent):void
var faultMessage:String = "Could not connect with XML file";
Alert.show(faultMessage, "Error opening file");

</mx:Script>
<mx:HTTPService id="accountData" url="pgm1.xml" result="AccountHandler(event)" fault="faultHandler(event)" />
<mx:DataGrid x="20" y="24" width="950" dataProvider="{AccountInformation}" />
</mx:Application>
This reads and displays all the rows. But I want to display single row at a time with sometime time gap between the display of two consecutive rows.I am new to flex and this is my first code, so need your help on this.
I hope i have made myself clear. If there is anything else please let me know.
Looking forward to some solution.
Thanks in advance.

Web service Response data - how to extract fields from XMl returned
Hi,
I am using a web service in adobe forms to get currency , by entering country name. I generated the fields i form by clicking on 'Generate fields ' it automatically generated the biding.
The problem is that in response field , i get the whole XML , wheras i just need the currecny value.
Below is the o/p.
<NewDataSet>

<CountryCode>in</CountryCode>
<Currency>Rupee</Currency>
<CurrencyCode>INR</CurrencyCode>

<CountryCode>in</CountryCode>
<Currency>Rupee</Currency>
<CurrencyCode>INR</CurrencyCode>

</NewDataSet>
I just want INR to be shown in the text field?
Plz help..You might have to tweak this code some to get it to work, but it should at least lay the groundwork for solving your problem:
Code Snippet
/* Declare an XmlNode object and initialize it with the XML response from the GetListItems method. The last parameter specifies the GUID of the Web site containing the list. Setting it to null causes the Web site specified by the Url property to be used.*/
System.Xml.XmlNode nodeListItems =
MyListsService.GetListItems
(listName, viewName, query, viewFields, rowLimit, queryOptions, null);
System.Xml.XmlDocument xd = new System.Xml.XmlDocument();
xd.LoadXml(nodeListItems.OuterXml);
System.Xml.XmlNamespaceManager nm = new System.Xml.XmlNamespaceManager(xd.NameTable);
nm.AddNamespace("rs", "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:rowset");
nm.AddNamespace("z", "#RowsetSchema");
nm.AddNamespace("rootNS", "http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap");
System.Xml.XmlNodeList nl = xd.SelectNodes("/rootNS:listitems/rs:data/z:row", nm);
foreach(System.Xml.XmlNode listItem in nl)
listBoxProsjekter.Items.Add(listItem.OuterXml);
I hope this helps!

Hello!
I want my program to read data from external XML file. I know
that Flash has an XML class, but I just don't get the way it
reads and writes data from/to it.
I have a following XML file (a part of it):

<configuration>
<soundvolume>66</soundvolume>
</configuration>
I have created an XML class:
xml_data = new XML();
xml_data.load("config.xml");
How to make Flash read this value of 66 and add it to some
variable?
By logic, it would seem to be:
_global.volume =
xml_data.configuration.soundvolume.nodeValue();
But it's not.
Also, what are commands for writing data to an XML files.
Help...
Thanks in advance.Hi!
Flash can't write to an xml file (or write anything at all
for that matter)
on its own. You'd need some serverside script to do that
(.php, .asp, etc).
As for the processing of the xml file, you might want to read
up a bit in
the help documentation under the xml class. To handle the
different nodes in
an xml file you use childNode
, firstChild and such. Attributes in an xml
file can be reached with
childNode.attributes.{attributename} (without
the {} brackets).
Below is an example copy/paste of a processig code I've got.
function processXML(XMLObj:XML):Void {
var thisClass = this;
thisClass.RawData = XMLObj;
thisClass.Data = new Object();
var node = thisClass.RawData.firstChild;
for (var i = 0; i < node.childNodes.length; i++) {
thisClass.Data[node.childNodes
.nodeName] =
node.childNodes.childNodes[0].nodeValue;
If you run this on your xml file then you should end up with:
this.Data[soundvolume] == 66.

Data import from old system to new system, key by raw16 column
hi, experts,
now, I have a new system, the system design is to use raw(16) column as key column in all database tables.
of course, when new system goes live (in production), all new transaction records are written to new system database.
when the new system inserts new records, it handles itself to avoid conflicts by value of the raw(16) key column
I now face this issue:
I need to import data from old system to new system, I use sys_guid() to fill up the raw(16) column in new system database.
how can I avoid the conflict from value of raw(16) column between old system data and new system database data?
the sql I write is very simple:
insert into new_sys_table_a (key_column_raw_16, ..., ... )
select sys_guid(), old_sys_col_a, old_sys_col_b
from old_sys_table_a;Manik wrote:
Hi,
Can you try this as a synch script (you can call so), sys_guid is a sequence, so just run through till u have sequence surpassing your old sequence. Give it a try.. I did not test it, but algorithm might be helpful for you.. Since when did sys_guid become a sequence that can be compared to other sys_guid's to know if it's been surpassed or not?

We have to process the message according to the action(UPDATE ADD DELETE).
From this message we have to process only 3 fields (geo sku lead_time).
These three feilds data should be processed into the SKU_LEAD_TIME table based on the action.
Req1:
IF the action is update then the records should be updated in the "LEAD_TIME_TABLE" table

Hi, extract data from xml file and insert into another exiting xml file
i am searching code to extract data from xml file and insert into another exiting xml file by a java program. I understood it is easy to extract data from a xml file, and how ever without creating another xml file. We want to insert the extracted data into another exiting xml file. Suggestions?
1st xml file which has two lines(text1.xml)

These two lines has to be inserted in the existing another xml(text 2.xml) file(at line 3 and 4)

Thanks for your reply.
I need to retireve the image soruce and image text dynamically from xml. For that I am trying to read the XML using Http Request and then in result handler I am getting it in Array Collection: but afterwards I am strugelling to get individual element from array collection: here's my code:

import mx.rpc.events.FaultEvent;
import mx.rpc.events.ResultEvent;
[Bindable]
public var galleryData:ArrayCollection;
protected function resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
//getting XML in array collection
galleryData = event.result.gallery.images;
//tried getItemAt (index) but it's not working not sure how to progress further
// fault event handler for employeeService HTTPService call
private function faultHandler(event:FaultEvent):void {
// Add code here for what to do when there is an error retrieving data

</fx:Script>
<fx:Declarations>
<mx:HTTPService id="galleryService"
url="data/gallery.xml"
result="resultHandler(event)"
fault="faultHandler(event)"/>

and I am struggeling to get individual values from that array collection. tried getItemAt (index) but it's not working not sure how to progress further

Question - Comparing data from 2 databases
I'm new to Oracle - I'm trying to compare data from 2 separate databases.
I'm trying to get data from both databases based on a common TRACKING_NUMBER. The issue is that in one database there are additional 0s in front of the Tracking_Number.
So I'm trying to find out what I can put in my query to remove those zero's in front of the tracking number. I have the query below - it's very long.
SELECT DISTINCT cm.TRACKING_NUMBER_TYPE AS HType,
TRUNC(cm.CREATED_DATE) as CodeMoveDate,
SUBSTR(cm.CODE_MOVE_DESC, 1, 50) AS Description,
cm.TRACKING_NUMBER AS TrackingNumber,
rq.Plant_Name as Location,
jr_eur.Assignee as Tracker,
TRUNC(MAX(jr_spec.Journal_Date)) as Date_Spec,

I used to write scripts and procedures, but no more!
Reason is: you save time. A lot of time. You pay few hunderes $ once for the product.
If you do it yourself, you waste half-days doing it properly.
A good tool for database compare is Comparenicus (www.compareniucs.com).
I'm using it for 6 months now and it saves me a lot of time. -
Im fairly new to XML & web services so bear with me please.
Im trying to extract data from XML documents where the structure/element names are unknown.
The condition for extracting data is if keyword matches some data content.
Im using Java and the DOM API with xcerces and I've managed to parse the XML file, what I need to do next is to traverse the data content checking against keywords and if a keyword matches then to strip the tags and save the data locally ?
Ive trawled through all the documentaion but as theres so many different methods Im somewhat unsuare which is the best way to proceed.
thankstough question, i would suggest looking at jdom as solution for you, because it is a relatively simple one to use for searching through a dom. aside from that, its probably up to you what sort of logic you want to use.

Read data from xml files and populate internal table
Hi.
How to read data from xml files into internal tables?
Can u tell me the classes and methods to read xml data..
Can u explain it with a sample program...
DATA itab_accontextdir TYPE TABLE OF ACCONTEXTDIR.
DATA struct_accontextdir LIKE LINE OF itab_accontextdir.
DATA l_o_error TYPE REF TO cx_root.
DATA: filename type string ,
xmldata type xstring .
DATA: mr TYPE REF TO if_mr_api.
mr = cl_mime_repository_api=>get_api( ).
mr->get( EXPORTING i_url = 'SAP/PUBLIC/BC/xml_files_accontext/xml_accontextdir.xml'
IMPORTING e_content = xmldata ).
WRITE xmldata.
TRY.
CALL TRANSFORMATION id
SOURCE XML xmldata
RESULT shiva = itab_accontextdir.
CATCH cx_root INTO l_o_error.
ENDTRY.
LOOP AT itab_accontextdir INTO struct_accontextdir.
WRITE: / struct_accontextdir-context_id,
struct_accontextdir-context_name,
struct_accontextdir-context_type.
NEW-LINE.
ENDLOOP.

Description:
In the above code snippet I am storing the data in an xml file(you know xml is used to store and transport data ) called 'xml_accontextdir.xml' that is uploaded into the MIME repository at path 'SAP/PUBLIC/BC/xml_files_accontext/xml_accontextdir.xml'.
The below API is used to read a file in MIME repo and convert it into a string that is stored in ' xmldata'. (This is just a raw data that is got by appending the each line of xml file).
mr = cl_mime_repository_api=>get_api( ).
mr->get( EXPORTING i_url = 'SAP/PUBLIC/BC/xml_files_accontext/xml_accontextdir.xml'
IMPORTING e_content = xmldata ).
Once the 'xmldata' string is available we use the tranformation to parse the xml string that we have got from the above API and convert it into the internal table.

TRY.
CALL TRANSFORMATION id
SOURCE XML xmldata
RESULT shiva = itab_accontextdir.
CATCH cx_root INTO l_o_error.
ENDTRY.

Here the trasnsformation 'id ' is used to conververt the source xml 'xmldata' to resulting internal table itab_accontextdir, that have same structure as our xml file 'xml_accontextdir.xml'. In the RESULT root of the xml file has to be specified. (In my the root is 'shiva').
Things to be taken care:
One of the major problem that occurs when reading the xml file is 'format not compatible with the internal table' that you are reading into internal table. Iin order to get rid of this issue use one more tranformation to convert the data from the internal table into the xml file.

TRY.
CALL TRANSFORMATION id
SOURCE shiv = t_internal_tab
RESULT XML xml.
CATCH cx_root INTO l_o_error.
ENDTRY.
WRITE xml.
NEW-LINE.

This is the same transformation that we used above but the differnce is that the SOURCE and RESULT parameters are changed the source is now the internal table and result is *xml *string. Use xml browser that is available with the ABAP workbench to read the xml string displayed with proper indentation. In this way we get the format of xml file to be used that is compatable with the given internal table.
Thank you, Hope this will help you!!!
