Compatibility Issues Using Internet Explorer 9

I recently installed Internet Explorer 9 to my laptop, but I'm having issues accessing the Adobe Creative Cloud portal https://creative.adobe.com/?trackingid=KBHLP#team/admin/D927FB3D53B47646822A using this browser. As far as I was aware this version is compatible, but it is persistently coming back to me with 'Your Browser Is No Longer Supported' message. Has anyone else experienced any issues when attempting to login to the portal through IE9?

IE 9 is obsolete. Even Microsoft have already EOL'd (end of life) it. If you only installed it recently, you must be on some crappy old XP computer, anyway, which is utterly pointless for Creative Cloud in the first place. I would strongly recommend to read the system requirements...

  • ActiveX controls not downloaded when using Internet Explorer 10

We have many legacy applications developed using ASP and VB(InterDev). Our organization is moving to use Internet Explorer 10 in the near future.
We had a IE10 compatibility testing for our legacy applications and we observed that the applications using ActiveX controls are not working. Applications works perfectly fine with the older version of Internet Explorer.
We looked for the various workarounds but we did not find any.
Some application does nothing when we click on a button to generate the report but some applications throws the below error:
    <div id="x_x_imcontent"> <div style="font-size: 9pt; direction: ltr;">"ActiveX
control failed to load! -- This control is required to use the Address Book and Attachment features.  Please check your browser security settings and/or contact PC Support to install the digitally signed control."</div>
    </div>
We will be glad if we get any assistance on this issue.

    Hi,
Please post your ActiveX feature testing scripts to the IE Web Developer forum.
    (f12>Debug tab, search for ActiveX.... you should be able to find code blocks where you are feature testing for your ActiveX controls eg var ourcontrol=new ActiveX('foobar');
these code blocks will be the origin of the error messages that are injected into the page. (you can also search for where the "ActiveX control failed to load" string is in your code.)
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?forum=iewebdevelopment
IE10 has ActiveX filtering.... a blue circle with a line through it appears in the Address bar if any ActiveX content is blocked by Tools>ActiveX filtering.
IE10 has Enhanced protected Mode turned on by default in the Internet and Restricted Zones. I assume that you are mapping your test domain to the Intranet zone (where EPM is turned off by default and x32 bit controls are used.... if not you should see information
bars asking for permission to run the 32bit activeX controls)
Ensure you are using the Default IE security settings, (and also that you have applied the new admx files to your GPO and GPEdit control panels....)
Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
Ensure your test environment maps to the Intranet Zone (File>Properties) and that Enhanced Protected Mode is turned off for that zone (Security tab of Internet Options)
Ensure that your ActiveX controls are enabled (Tools>Manage Addons>Show all Addons) and that they have the correct permissions..... find them in the Addons manager and then click the item in the list to display their properties and permissions... at
the bottom of the Addons Properties there is a textarea with "You have approved this addon to run in the follow websites"... you testing and production domains should be listed.
For the best solutions/answers you should probably open a support ticket at support.microsoft.com so a support engineer can access your testing environment and do some tests.
    Regards.

  • Javascript/vbscript functionality (java script functions are not running) issue in Internet Explorer 10 and 11

We have developed web portal using classic ASP and java/vb script.  We used to run it absolutely fine using Internet Explorer 8.  Now we just migrated to Internet Explorer 11.  But after that no java script functionality is working in our
    web portal.
Our web server is configured on windows 2003 server and IIS version 6.0 and has .net Framework (Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727).
Could you please suggest us that is there any workaround to this?

    Hi,
Have you tested this web portal in compatibility mode, Tools\Compatibility view settings? or click F12 to use the developer tool, change the the document mode and user agent string to 8, check the result.
And under Tools\Internet Options\Security\Custom level, scroll down to "Scripting", enable "Active Scripting".
Since you're developer of the web portal, it's recommended to post issue in IE development forum

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • SharePoint 2013 - document libraries and newsfeeds are visible when viewed using Internet Explorer running on the server but not from any other machine

On a single Windows 2012 R2 server I have installed SQL 2012 and SharePoint 2013 SP1 with the latest update roll ups. When I remote desktop to the server using the farm and site collection admin account  and open page http://server_name_here using
Internet Explorer, I'm able to see newsfeeds and document libraries.
If I connected to a separate Windows 7 machine as  the farm and site collection admin account  and open page http://server_name_here using Internet Explorer, I'm able to view the SharePoint pages except I cannot see any newsfeeds or document libraries.
There's just blank space where they should be. I have repeated this process on several other machines that are not the server and get the same result on every machine (I've tried other servers, desktops, adding the SharePoint site to the trusted sites list
in IE, even using firefox). I'm using the same account as I did when I logged onto the server directly. Any thoughts as to what's going on?
    Thanks!

Thanks for the idea, Harsh. What am I looking for?
It is currently set to the default of http://server_name and http://server_name:port_number (the latter is for Central Admin).
When I have access to the server, I have always done so the same way, using http://server_name. This was true when I access it from the desktop of the server itself and when I tried to access it from other desktops and servers (the machines where I had the
issues with the libraries and feeds not showing up). Are there other values I should add?
I have not tried to add http://server_FQDN as we don't plan on using that to access it but if you think it will help I would be happy to add it.

  • I cannot open my Hotmail emails from Firefox. I have been on the hotmail Help Forum and they suggest to use Internet Explorer. Does Forefox not support Hotmail now?

    Hi,
I can log into hotmail but cannot open my emails or go to Sent items or anything. I have gone on the Hotmail Help Forum and MANY people are having the same problem. Hotmail say we should use Internet explorer and they do not really answer about using Firefox.
People using Firefox 3 and 4 are having problems.
Also, i downloaded Forefox 4.0.1 and it was not fully compatible with Kaspersky - has this problem also now been resolved?
In summary - is Forfox 4.0.1 NOT comaptible with Hotmail and Kaspersky?

Sorry, I can't help with Hotmail, beyond clearing the cache - I haven't used it for 11 or 12 years now. Surprising that a Firefox 3.6 version would have trouble there, as 3.6 has been around for well over a year and Hotmail problems are usually with a recent release of Firefox.
IMO, if Hotmail support can't help you with Firefox issues on their website and can only recommend using IE, maybe it's time to change web mail service providers. My advice is to signup with a different web mail service, one that takes Firefox seriously. Then set up forwarding in your Hotmail account to have all your Hotmail emails forwarded to that new account. Then slowly transition your email contacts over to the new email address over time. As long as you log in to Hotmail every month or two, your account there should stay active and emails sent there should get forwarded to the new email account. I have done that three times in the last decade, and the first one I transitioned from was still forwarding email thru the two intermediary accounts to my current account until last summer when that service finally changed owners and they wanted all new accounts set up or transitioned to their new software - which I didn't do - and I hadn't even signed into my account there in over 4 years and "forwarding" was still working.

  • IWeb 08 site not viewable using Internet Explorer

I have had feedback from friends using Internet Explorer saying that when they try to view my site their browser freezes and can't open the page. It works fine when using Safari.
I have seen a number of posts regarding this issue and am wondering if there is a straightforward fix, or whether we will have to wait for Apple on this one?
Has anyone been able to test an iWeb 08 created site using IE?
    Thanks,
    M&C

Can you be more specific and tell us what version of IE, I am assuming they are on Windows too. My assumption is that the most current version will work fine—have not tested it in full—but pervious version of IE have not played well with web standards. Currently, all of my content from iWeb06 works fine with IE (going on assumption because I have only tested it a few times on IE, I think it was version 6 or 7). I have not created anything new with iWeb08, so I have not had a chance to test it.
Best fix: Tell your friends to use FireFox.

  • I can not click certain tabs on my Etsy page & they will not open using Firefox, but I am able to open these tabs on Etsy when using Internet Explorer

When I am signed onto Etsy, there are certain tabs on the top of the page that I can not click open when using firefox, but when I use Internet Explorer, I am able to click open these tabs. The following tabs on my etsy page will not open: Your Shop, Your Account, Help, & Sign Out
Other tabs on the same page will let me click them open, such as:
Buy, Sell, Community, Blog, Mobile, when using Firefox & Internet Explorer

Both the Yahoo! Toolbar extension and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause an issue like that. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

  • Unable to set mailbox forwarder within ECP using Internet Explorer

We seem to have an issue that has developed where using Internet Explorer we are now unable to set a mailbox forwarder within the ECP.
When we use Internet Explorer 11 the following is used to discover the issue:
    1. Under mailboxes select any recipient, click "mailbox features" > and under Mail Flow click "View details"
    2. Click "Enable forwarding" > "Browse" and then select and recipient you want to forward ail too.
    3. Once you click on "Ok" it will be observed that the field in IE is blank account to forward to is not there.
We have tried rebooting the CAS already in case something was cached but this did not help resolve the issue.
We have noticed that if you open the ECP and repeat the steps in Firefox or Chrome the issue is not there. This is happening on all our machines in the domain and says to me it is an IE issue rather than Exchange maybe.. Does anyone know what might be causing
    it?
Our environment is Windows Server 2012 R2, Exchange 2013 CU6

It is possible that you accidentally clicked the 'Block Images' item in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar and click the "More Information" button.
This will open the Security tab of the ''Page Info'' window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
Go to the ''Media'' tab of that Page Info window.
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
If an image is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box ''Block Images from...'' then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • Printing from websites using Internet Explorer

I use Internet Explorer and have an HP Photosmart 7350 printer.  Whenever I print a page from a website, the print is extremely small.  Is there a solution to this other than to copy and paste the page to Word and adjust the font there?

That's a bug in the Adobe installer which seems to think IE10 is IE1.
Either put IE10 into IE9 or lower mode using Compatibility View.
    http://techathlon.com/internet-explorer-10-run-compatibility-mode/
Or simply use a different browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox.

  • Speed downstream and upstream when I am using Firefox. When I am using Internet Explorer I dont have this problems

Iam using Firefox 12.0 Swedish version. When I use Firefox I have problem with the speed downstreams
and upstreams. When I use Internet Explorer 64 bit 7 version 9 I dont have this proplem. Why is it so?
    Firefox
    Downstream Upstream
    ~ 50Mbit/s ~ 0.6Mbit/s
    Internet Explorer
    Downstream Upstream
    ~ 87Mbit/s ~ 75 Mbit/s
The conetcion is fibre cabel and the supplier guarantees 60 - 100Mbit/s
I shall bee gratefull if I can solve this and continou to use Firefox. Iam othervise very satesfide with Firefox

Poor performance in Flash-based speed tests can be related to add-on conflicts and certain Flash features. If you have not already tried these:
    (1) Disable protected mode (Win Vista and Win 7 only)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) For video issues, make sure your RealNetworks add-ons are the latest versions

  • Can't Upload Large Files (Upload Fails using Internet Explorer but works with Google Chrome)

I've been experience an issue uploading large (75MB & greater) PDF files to a SharePoint 2010 document library. Using normal upload procedures using Internet Explorer 7 (our company standard for the time being) the upload fails. No error message is thrown,
the upload screen goes away and the page refreshes and the document isn't there. I tried upload multiple and it says throws a failed error after a while.
Using google chrome I made an attempt just to see what it did and the file using the "Add a document" uploaded in seconds. Can't figure out why one browser worked and the other doesn't. We are getting sporadic inquiries with the same issue.
We have previously setup large file support in the appropriate areas and large files are uploaded to the sites successfully. Any thoughts?

File size upload has to be configured on the server farm level. Your administrator most likely set
up the limit to size of files that can be uploaded. This size can be increased and you would then be able to upload your documents.

Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks that you should remove and update to the latest Flash player.
    *Shockwave Flash 7.0 r19
You can find the old Flash plugin file NPSWF32.DLL in the plugins folder within the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\) and remove that file.
Also remove the flashplayer.xpt file in the components folder.
