Compilation error warning

Could someone please let me know that if it is a problem for querying database when there is compilation error warning?
I've often received warning errors after creating a type, such as :" Type created with compilation error".
Thanking in advance for your response.

I tried to get the following stored procedure to work... I've tried two different versions of the procedure... I have both versions below. I get a warning that the procedure was created but with compilation errors... this happens in Oracle 11g Express Edition... it references a function that I already created and has been tested.
Version 1:
create or replace procedure ins_ints(v1 number)
as begin
for i in 1..v1 loop
insert into integers values(i,odd_even(i));
end loop;
end ins_ints;
Version 2:
create or replace procedure ins_ints(v1 in number)
as begin
for i in 1..v1 loop
insert into integers values(i,odd_even(i));
end loop;
end ins_ints;
Any idea whats wrong?
Note: The odd_even function has the following function call:
odd_even(v1 number) return varchar2
again, just calling the funciton from the command line (SQL *Plus) works.
Thanks!SHOW ERROR

    In the second load_file procedure you should probably change the update command
    -- UPDATE THE BLOB FIELD
    UPDATE PDM
    SET FNAME = SRC_FILE,
    IBLOB = DST_FILE;into this
    -- UPDATE THE BLOB FIELD
    UPDATE PDM
    SET IBLOB = DST_FILE
    WHERE  FNAME = '262-2827.pdf';but I'm not sure how to explain the eof error message. Usually this happens when you forget an "END;" or "END LOOP;" command.
    Ok I rechecked and the declaration of the second procedure seems wrong
    -- CREATE THE PROCEDURE TO LOAD THE FILE
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE LOAD_FILE AS (
    SRC_FILE BFILE := BFILENAME('PDF_DIR', '262-2827.pdf');
    DST_FILE BLOB;
    BEGINshould be rewritten as
    -- CREATE THE PROCEDURE TO LOAD THE FILE
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE LOAD_FILE
      AS
      SRC_FILE BFILE := BFILENAME('PDF_DIR', '262-2827.pdf');
      DST_FILE BLOB;
    BEGIN
    ...I removed one parenthesis which was not closed.
    And for the image_import procedure there is a semikolon missing after the final END.

  • Warning: Type created with compilation errors. sql : oracle 11gr2

    I'm trying to create a supertype customer service and subtype agent and supervisor, so they can inherent values however when I try to run this in oracle sql: a message comes up
    Warning: Type created with compilation errors.
    What is wrong with the code below?
    Create or replace type customer_s_type as object ( csID number, csName varchar(15), csType number ) NOT FINAL;  Create or replace type supervisor_type UNDER customer_s_type ( title varchar (10) );  Create or replace type agent_type UNDER customer_s_type (title varchar (10));  Create table supervisor of supervisor_type ( CONSTRAINT supervisor_PK PRIMARY KEY (csID));  Create table agent of agent_type (CONSTRAINT agent_PK PRIMARY KEY (csID));  create table customer_service( csID number(10), csType number(10), constraint supervisor_pk primary key(csID) );

    Wile creating TYPE you need to terminate with a back slash (/) semi colon does not work.
    Try like this
    create or replace type customer_s_type as object ( csid number, csname varchar(15), cstype number ) not final
    create or replace type supervisor_type under customer_s_type ( title varchar (10) )
    create or replace type agent_type under customer_s_type (title varchar (10))

  • Warning: Function created with compilation errors. ???

    I created a function with a warning:
    Warning: Function created with compilation errors.
    I'd like to know more detailed information about this warning, how to find them?
    If only with this warning, I don't know how to correct the definition of the function.
    BTW, because it is a warning, I just try to run the sql stmt which will call this function:
    SQL> select strdiff(ename, 'FOR') from emp;
    select strdiff(ename, 'FOR') from emp
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-06575: Package or function STRDIFF is in an invalid state.
    /* strdiff is the name of function */
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    I think that your posting may be more suited to the PL/SQL forum.
    after the function is created with errors you should try the command:
    show err
    or
    show errors
    this should at least give you some idea of what is wrong.
    regards Michael

    David,
    Even when you comment out the channel (actually all channels) that has the
    reference to mx.messaging.channels.StreamingAMFChannel this still doesn't
    work?
    Are you sure that FlexBuilder is pointing at the right services-config.xml
    file when it compiles the MXML? It can't point at a BlazeDS 'default'
    config.
    It sounds like the problem is that the Flex2 libraries in the swf are trying
    to load that channel class which is new for Flex3 and it isn't there.
    Removing any and all references to this class in the config files used to
    compile the swf should fix it.
    Let us knwo if that isn't it.

    Surprisingly, this same code was compiling file last week and now I have no clue why I am getting this error. Can someone please shade some light on this issue?
    Thanks,
    Sachin.

    Hello
    I have had the same problem in Oracle BPM and solved it using the following steps:
    1- In your application navigator window, expand the project that contains the business rule.
    2- In the SOA Content, double click on your wsdl file.
    3- When the file opens, select the schema view from the bottom of the page.
    4- In the schema view, expand all the schema nodes and check if you see any values in red. If you see one, that value has probably caused the error and you should correct it using the property inspector window.
    In my case, the schema location value was set to a wrong path, so I changed it and the error resolved.
    Also, some error that appear as warning in the rule editor will show as compile error later, such as input types not being used and such, so those must be resolved before compiling.
    Hope that was helpful
    good luck

  • Fpga compile error Process "Generate Programming File" failed

    When I tried to compile any fpga vi. It always end up with this kind of error:
    WARNING:Bitgen:26 - Bitgen only supports DRC but not bitstream generation on
    this device. This condition can occur if there are problems obtaining a
    license to run bitgen or if the design targets a device which is Early
    Access.
    Process "Generate Programming File" failed
    Even when i tried the example vi given by NI.
    However when i select the FPGA target pxi-7831R, it succeed. Other fpga targets like pxi7853R pxie7965R or Pxie7953R don't work well.
    PS: i use labview 2011 NI-RIO 4.0 and xilinx tools 13.4

    Hello,
    The key will of course be to isolate differences between your machines.
    I wonder if the following more specific language setting could be the lingering problem.  LabVIEW is a non-unicode program, and there is a language setting in Windows (at least XP) specifically for non-unicode programs.  Try the following (or it's Win2K equivalent) if you haven't already:
    0. Open "Control Panel"
    1. Open the "Regional and Language Options"
    2. On the Advanced tab, choose English (United States) from the drop-down menu under the top section "Language for non-Unicode Programs"
    - This language setting is different from the setting on the "Regional Options" tab.
    Any other differences you can isolate would be potentially insightful - if you have the same software versions installed in the same order on both machines, we may be looking for something a bit subtle, such as the suspected language setting.

  • Oracle JDBC Driver Compile Errors

    I'd like to try out this new Preview Edition but I get the following errors:
    Error(22,8): class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleCallableStatement is not public; cannot be accessed from outside of package oracle.jdbc.driver
    Error(23,8): class oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes is not public; cannot be accessed from outside of package oracle.jdbc.driver
    These erors occur at the import statements:
    import oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleCallableStatement;
    import oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes;
    when I attempt to compile a JDev 10.1.3 project in the 11g Technology Preview Edition. Any idea why?
    TIA,
    Jeff

    We don't support project migration from 10.1.3 to the
    technology preview.
    Does the problem reproduce if you create a new
    project in 11tp?Shay,
    Thanks for the quick response. I created a new application in 11tp from scratch. I created a View Object and pasted the offending code into it and got the same compile errors. I actually got the code about a year ago from Steve's Not Yet Documented Applications. He has since removed the App from the page, changed the code and added it to the Dev Guide. The sample app showed how to bind a View object to a REF Cursor returned from a stored procedure and it looked something like this:
    CallableStatement cs = conn.prepareCall("{?=call package.name(P_CODIGO => ?)}");
    cs.rgisterOutParameter(1,OracleTypes.CURSOR);
    cs.setInt(2,16782);
    cs.executeQuery();
    ResultSet result = ((OracleCallableStatement)cs).getCursor(1);
    Changing the code to look more like what is now in the DEV GUIDE will more than likely work because he eliminates the need for the OracleCallableStatement.
    This brings me to my next point. If migration is not currently supported, will it be when the production release of JDEV 11g is available? Shame on me for just quickly skimming the release notes but when the import wizard ran on my project it did not warn me that the feature is not supported or that problems are likely. Upon resolving the issues with the callable statement, I had significant other compile errors in my jspx pages that will probably not be as trivial to fix. If project upgrades are not performed "easily" it will certainly push the 11g adoption date out considerably.
    Thanks again, your comments are always encouraged.

  • Compilation error that cannot be displayed

    Hi all,
    I have this compilation error message, but when I try to view the error, nothing appears. Have you guys ever experienced anything like this? Or is there anything that I have missed? Thanx.
    (new.sql is the script of the stored procedure)
    SQL> @d:\scriptdb\new.sql
    Warning: Procedure created with compilation errors.
    SQL> show error;
    No errors.
    SQL>

    Try being explicit:
    show error procedure procedure_name
    or
    show error package package_name
    "show error" with no additional arguments just shows the errors for the last object processed. Perhaps your script is compiling multiple objects?

  • LV 2011 (and LV 2012) Compiler Error. Invalid size in _InstSize: 21

    I created a subvi in LV8.5 to handle user interface events outside a main vi. The subvi gets the control references which are registered for events, by a queue all actions are sent to a consumer case, nothing fancy. Everything works fine in LV8.5, but now I took all over to LV2011SP1 on a Windows 7 64bit and I get always the same error:
    "Compiler error. Report this problem to National Instruments Tech Support. Invalid size in _InstSize 21"
    that pops up 3 times. I tried to open the same code also in LV2012, same error... When trying to isolate the problem, I found out that by disabling code in the 3 biggest consumer cases I can get rid of the warning, but then I can't reduce the problem to one single element...
    Any ideas?

    Try to inline the subvi's.
    Try making them reentrant.
    Mass compile.
    Press ctrl-shift-arrow to force recompile of the entire vi call hierarchy.
    Try separating the source from the binary.
