Compile modules with apxs

i've been using a filemaker 6 module successfully in a G4 server, but when i recently upgraded to an intel box and reinstalled filemaker (with "web server connector" to serve dynamic sites) the installation breaks apache. the error log seems to indicate the offender is an httpd module named mod_fmwsc.so.
filemaker includes the source for the module and indicates in the manual that it can be compiled with apxs for later versions of apache. in terminal i cd'd to the folder containing the file (mod_fmwsc.c) and issued this command:
apxs -c mod_fmwsc.c
Which gave this message:
gcc -DDARWIN -DUSE_HSREGEX -DUSE_EXPAT -I../lib/expat-lite -g -Os -pipe -DHARDSERVERLIMIT=2048 -DEAPI -DSHARED_MODULE -I/usr/include/httpd -c mod.fmwsc.c
apxs:Break: Command failed with rc=16777215
Not really familiar with this tool, so I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks

Big please. FB engineers, any plans on this?

  • Problem compiling module with named package

    Hi,
    I'm relatively new to Flex and only recently came upon Flex modules. I am trying to use an interface between the modules and my main application, both to enforce compatibility and to ease data access from the modules to the main application (i.e., the preferred approach on Adobe's module implementation docs). I am, however, running into a problem when trying to compile the module (using Ant) due to its implementation of an interface in a named package. It seems I have a choice between two compilation errors:
    1) an error referring to difference between the named package structure and the unnamed package for my module
    2) an interface not found error when I specify the full package name for the interface in the module "implements" attribute
    #2 seemed more promising as I figured this was just some sort of source path error. After adjusting the source path many times, though, I have been unable to get past the interface not found error. I even tried to compile the interface into a SWC and then place the SWC on the library path.
    Overall, the structure of the code is very simple:
    com.example.workers.IModule
    WorkerModule1
    If I go ahead and make IModule part of an unnamed package, I can get past problem #1 (avoid #2) and get it to compile, but then I do not have the ability to cast the child of the loaded module (ModuleLoader.child) to the interface in my main application to insure that it is of the right type (though I can hack around this by checking if the child has a certain property or function).
    Anyway, I am guessing that there might be something simple that I am missing here--i.e., some way to get the named package onto the path for my mxmlc-based compilation of the module or some way to add the named package structure to my module (adding an xmlns did not accomplish anything). In any case, any help here would be greatly appreciated.

    You definitely have the wrong version. You want 2.0.1 (we
    haven't made a 2.1). The download on the Flex page is always the
    most current version, 2.0.1 in this case. Try it again.

  • Compiling Apache with PERL module on Solaris 8

    Hi there,
    After the Richard's reply, I found the Apache sources on the intallation CD 2/2. And after a while I successful compile the apache WITH ITS STANDARD modules with the following command:
    $ ./configure --prefix=/usr/apache \
    --enable-module=most \
    --enable-shared=max \
    --with-layout=Solaris
    $ make
    $ make install
    But the above "configure" does not compile the companion mod_perl. So, I tried:
    ... $ ./configure --prefix=/usr/apache \
    --enable-module=most \
    --enable-shared=/usr/src/apache/mod_perl/src/modules/perl/mod_perl.c \
    --add-module=max \
    --enable-shared=max \
    --with-layout=Solaris
    but the above command just copies the "mod_perl.c" to the diretory
    "usr/src/apache/src/modules/extra"
    missing the corresponding *.h
    Then trying
    $ make
    The compilation fails because of ALL the
    files on the directory
    /usr/perl5/5.00503/sun4-solaris/CORE
    are not found.
    Any Hint?
    Thanks in advance
    Csar

    have you tried downloading the source from apache.org and compiling it?
    ive installed apache on sol8 many times, but all from apache.. not from the cd..

  • VMWare Workstation not able to compile modules

    I have an installation of vmware workstation that I don't use very often, and recently it hasn't been able to start due to an error with the module compiling process.
    The specific error is:
    2014-02-26T14:39:15.967-06:00| appLoader| W110: Unable to load libgcr.so.0 from /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgcr.so.0/libgcr.so.0: /usr/lib/libgcrypt.so.11: version `GCRYPT_1.2' not found (required by /usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgcr.so.0/libgcr.so.0)

    2014-02-26T14:39:15.967-06:00| appLoader| W110: Unable to execute /usr/lib/vmware/bin/vmware-modconfig.
    I noticed that gcrypt got updated to 1.6.1 from 1.6.0-2 on the Jan 31st, so I tried downgrading it to the previous version but the same error happened, so it is not an upgrade that has caused the problem.
    Yes, the file does exist, and yes, I have reinstalled workstation.

    Kernel: 3.12.13-1-ck
    Processor: i7-3840QM
    I have been wrangling with this for a couple of days now and I'm out of ideas.

    I had the same issue and i have modify the wiki
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VMware
    Check this to apply some patch to compile again on your arch
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VM … Linux_3.13
    if you use DKMS check the following session
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VM … he_modules
    sorry for my poor english
    PS: if you compile your module with "vmware-modconfig --console --install-all" you can have an issue due to the headers path change, to resolve it you can try this command
    $ vmware-modconfig --console --install-all -k $(uname -r) $(vmware-modconfig --console --get-gcc) /usr/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/build/include

  • Ant fails to compile modules which use interfaces

    Hi, I am having a major problem compiling flex modules with ANT.
    I will try to give ALL necessary information so we can avoid days of useless novice questions.
    I have an application that uses many modules.  They DO compile perfectly in flash builder.
    First question.  How can I get flashbuilder 4.7 to show me the command line which it uses for mxmlc?  If I could see this, I could do everything myself.
    Second question:  What is wrong with my work below?
    I have a module which looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:Module xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
    xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
    xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx"
    implements="com.hof.lobby.modules.IVolatileAssets"
    width="400" height="300"
    creationComplete="onDummy(event)"
    >
    I have inside this module various other properties which are themselves instances typed as various other interfaces.
    when I build the main applicaiton, everything is fine.
    I created a macrodef in ANT to build all my modules efficiently.
        <macrodef name="buildModule">
            <attribute name="module-name" default="none" />
            <attribute name="module-package" default="none" />
                  <attribute name="out-path" default="." />
            <sequential>
                      <echo message="building @{module-name} to @{out-path}/@{module-name}.swf" />
                      <mxmlc file="${APP_ROOT}/src/@{module-package}/@{module-name}.mxml"
                                   output="${DEPLOY_DIR}/@{out-path}/@{module-name}.swf"
                                   keep-generated-actionscript="false"
                                   incremental="false"
                                   debug="true"
                                   fork="true"
                                   load-externs="${ANT_ROOT}/link-report.xml"
                                   optimize="false"
                                   >
                                <load-config filename="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/flex-config.xml"/>
                    <source-path path-element="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks"/>
                                <compiler.library-path dir="${HOF_COMMON_ROOT}" append="true">
                                          <include name="bin"/>
                                </compiler.library-path>
                                <compiler.library-path dir="${APP_ROOT}" append="true">
                                          <include name="libs"/>
                                </compiler.library-path>
                    <compiler.library-path dir="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks" append="true">
                        <include name="libs" />
                        <include name="../bundles/{locale}" />
                    </compiler.library-path>
                                <source-path path-element="${APP_ROOT}/src/locale/{locale}"/>
                </mxmlc>
            </sequential>
        </macrodef>
        <target name="modulesDebug" depends="lobbyDependencies" description="Build the lobby modules for debug">
                  <!--<buildModule module-name="InboxDlg" module-package="com/hof/lobby/modules/dlgs" out-path="modules3/dlgs"/>-->
                  <buildModule module-name="VolatileAssets" module-package="com/hof/lobby/modules" out-path="modules3"/>
              </target>
    So then when i run this target, i get the following output:
    modulesDebug:
         [echo] building VolatileAssets to modules3/VolatileAssets.swf
        [mxmlc] Loading configuration file F:\var\sdk\flex_sdk_4.5.1.21328A\frameworks\flex-config.xml

    Total time: 7 seconds
    If i remove the implements attribute in the module component definition then i get a cascading failure for EVERY SINGLE interface in the module.
    Basically something is causing ANT to fail to load the class def for ANY interface in the module.
    What on earth am I doing wrong?
    Please help.
    Thank you.

    I am replying to my own thread because I absolutely HATE IT when i see a post with the exact problem that I have and no answer.
    here is the answer to the problem:
    I had to create an external config file and load it with
    <load-config filename="${basedir}/config/ModuleConfig.xml"/>
    the contents of ModuleConfig.xml re-define nearly every framework configuration.  none of them seem non standard to me...
    Basically I just defined everything to be what it SHOULD be and loaded this config file after I apply the default flex-config.xml from the sdk.
    do what I posted below and it will work.
    so now, my macrodef is:
        <macrodef name="buildModule">
            <attribute name="module-name" default="none" />
            <attribute name="module-package" default="none" />
                  <attribute name="out-path" default="." />
                  <attribute name="debug" default="true" />
            <sequential>
                      <echo message="building @{module-name} to @{out-path}/@{module-name}.swf" />
                      <mxmlc file="${APP_ROOT}/src/@{module-package}/@{module-name}.mxml"
                                   output="${DEPLOY_DIR}/@{out-path}/@{module-name}.swf"
                                   keep-generated-actionscript="false"
                                   incremental="true"
                                   debug="@{debug}"
                                   fork="true"
                                   optimize="false"
                                   size-report="${basedir}/reports/@{module-name}-size_report.xml"
                                   >
                                <load-config filename="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/flex-config.xml"/>
                                <load-config filename="${basedir}/config/ModuleConfig.xml"/>
                </mxmlc>
            </sequential>
        </macrodef>
    and my ModuleConfig file is:
    <flex-config xmlns="http://www.adobe.com/2006/flex-config">
      <compiler>

  • Modules with Halo Theme causes errors in other modules with Spark theme

    Hi,
    We have a large application which calls several modules, some old and some new.
    Most modules and the main App are using only MX components and were styled based on default mx theme, thus we want to compile these modules with the flag to use the old Halo theme.
    But when we did this our new module that contains spark components (Which isn't compiled with this flag) couldn't find the default skin for the spark components.
    Using the -keep-all-type-selectors flag didn't work in this case.
    Only when we removed the Halo theme flag from other modules and main app it worked.
    Is there any other option?
    Because using the old modules with spark theme causes major change in the appearance of our application.
    Thanks,
    Dafna.

    I think if you mix themes you'll need to specify more styles on the
    non-default theme because the set of globals and other defaults will be
    different.

  • Compile module for Oracle VM Server

    I need to install the the RDAC multipath driver.
    To do this I need to compile the driver module. I have installed kernel-ovs-devel-2.6.18-8.1.6.0.18.el5.i686.rpm but when now I need the gcc compiler --- and propably other stuff as well.
    How can I install the gcc compiler on the ovs system ? Or how can I compile the rdac module for the Oracle VM server ?
    I have read somewhere that the Oracle VM server is based on EL5 --- but how can I use this information to compile the driver ?

    I don't like suggesting thing "a" when people like to get an answer for "b" - however, lets go :)
    OracleVM comes with device mapper multipathing. This is a general multipath driver. You can use this as an alternative to RDAC.
    Advantages: Runs on most stoarges and you don't need tom compile modules.
    Setup is also very easy. Just install the device-mapper-multipath package from the OracleVM CD. run "chkconfig multipathd on". Comment out the "blacklist" section in /etc/multipath.conf. Reboot. And then you should see devices in /dev/mapper.
    Just use those devices instead of /dev/sdX and you have multipathing. You can verify this by cable pulling. Also execute "multipath -l" so see what's happening.
    Regards,
    Robert
    p.s. For GCC you probably need gcc, glibc-devel, libgcc, libgomp and maybe some more, but just try to install gcc - it tells you what packages are missing. Then just install those from the Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 CD.

    so iam a beginner and can not figure out where the problem is.
    i looked around the internet and on the arch wiki but didnt find a sollution - there are often problems with module compilation with newer kernels, therefore there a patches, but not for my kernel.
    some people say, that VMWare Server 2 modules compiling fine with the 2.6.30 kernel.. maybe i have another problem.
    is this path correct for kernel headers?
    What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running
    kernel? [/lib/modules/2.6.30-ARCH/build/include]
    I hope someone can help me.

    cool, i found a patch and installation works fine now !
    vmware-server.2.0.1_x64-modules-2.6.30-fix.sh
    and
    vmware-server.2.0.1_x64-modules-2.6.30-fix.patch
    what i did:
    wget both files to /tmp
    #cd /tmp
    #vi vmware-server.2.0.1_x64-modules-2.6.30-fix.sh
    and change the VMMODDIR variable to my fits (cause i installed vmware server somewhere else)
    #./vmware-server.2.0.1_x64-modules-2.6.30-fix.sh
    #cd vmwareserverdir/bin/
    #./vmware-config.pl

  • Compiling PHP with SOAP/Iconv/OpenSSL support

    Hi,
    I'm not sure if this is the best place for this but the other topics seem even less related.
    I'm trying to compile PHP with SOAP and SSL on a Mac for use with Salesforce.com (it works without any issues on Gentoo and RedHat). Anytime I try to connect I get an invalid SOAP header error. It seems to be happening because the Salesforce SOAP server requires SSL connections and I don't have SSL enabled, but it's hard to backtrace. Regardless, I can't get SSL or iconv support working.
    I've installed OpenSSL both from Macports and from source using the default ./config options, neither method worked. It may be related to some issues I'm having getting iconv working as well (which I also can't seem to get right, it's installed via Macports).
    Here's my PHP configure, if anyone can let me in on what I'm doing wrong that would be great!!! Thanks in advance!

  • Using ABS to compile OpenOffice with KDE3 support?

    Hallo,
    So I'm trying to use ABS to compile OpenOffice with KDE3 support so I can use the KDE file picker (the KDE4 support is really, really broken and too new to be used right now). I pulled Openoffice-base out of my ABS tree and modified the PKBUILD so that kde was enabled and I made kdelibs3 part of the dependencies.
    However, it always says "checking whether KDE is between 3.2 and 3.6... configure: error: KDE version too old or too recent, please use another version of KDE or disable KDE address book support" before failing to compile. I know it's because I'm using KDE4. Is there a way I can trick it into thinking I'm using KDE3?
    It says the path to kdelibs is /usr/lib, perhaps if I changed it to the path to kdelibs3? Where would I do that in the PKBUILD?
    Thanks a lot!

    bstaletic wrote:The weird part, at least to me, is that I saw a lot more then 19 modules during compilation. Is this expected for some reason or have I messed something up?
    Your build method seems ok to me. Can't really say anything about the .config, but kernel modules can have dependencies too. For example, if you choose to build ext4 as a module, it selects at least jdb2 and crc16 modules to be built as well.

  • VMPlayer 3.1.5: Failed to compile module vmmon

    Hi,
    yesterday I updated VMPlayer but after that it doesn't work. When I try to start the program it advice me that 'Before you can run VMware, several modules must be compiled and loaded into the running kernel'. I select the 'Install' button but the procedure fails immediately during the compiling of the 'Virtual Machine Monitor'.
    The problem seems to be the vmmon module.

    Thank you very much BxS
    I use VMware for a long time, it normally needs patchs for new kernels, Workstation 8 and Player 4 for now don't need any, they simple work out of the box, very nice

  • Compiling application (with several sub-packages) from another java app

    Hi,
    I'm writing my own build tool and need to be able to compile an external application (pulled from cvs, subversion, ...) from within this build tool.
    Probably I need to use com.sun.tools.javac.Main.compile ?
    But how do I pass classpath, output dir, etc to this class and how can I make it compile all files in all (sub)packages of the given folder ?
    thanks for any help.

    Never mind my previous post, I found a solution to the "the input line is too long" problem:
    Putting all the files in a temporary file and then providing that file as the source to compile, like this:
    javac -g:none -cp <classpath> -d classes @sourcefiles.txtwhere sourcefiles.txt is the name of the temporary file that contains the names of the source files (note the "@"-prefix)
    For some reason, this is not mentioned/documented in the java docs (at least not in my docs)
    Ok, so everything is compiling now, but I have one problem remaining:
    For each "module" that I compile (the application I use for my tests consists of several "modules", i.e. subpackages), I get an error stating that "The system cannot find the path specified"
    This seems obvious, because it is trying to write a file <package-name>\classes\<package-name>\<classname>.class
    But why is it trying to write that file ?
    -> Is this a known bug or something ?
    Let me explain a little more...
    For each compilation I do using the com.sun.tools.javac.Main.compile() method, it is giving this error.
    Everything is compiling correctly, but it seems it is trying to write an extra class file to a wrong path.
    Until now, it was always the first file in the row that gave the problem.
    Example:
    ** module 1:
    sources/com/example/module1/class1.java
    sources/com/example/module1/class2.java
    sources/com/example/module1/class3.java
    sources/com/example/module1/sub1/subclass1.java
    sources/com/example/module1/sub1/subclass2.java
    sources/com/example/module1/sub1/subclass3.java
    ** module 2:
    sources/com/example/module2/class1.java
    sources/com/example/module2/class2.java
    sources/com/example/module2/class3.java
    sources/com/example/module2/sub1/subclass1.java
    sources/com/example/module2/sub1/subclass2.java
    sources/com/example/module2/sub1/subclass3.java
    => My application will compile module 1, do some other things with it and the module 2 and again do some other things with it.
    The result would be:
    Application started.
    Loading configuration: OK
    Compiling sources for module module1: E:\temp\_User_\project\packaging\workingdir\source\com/example/module1\class1.java:12: error while writing com.example.module1.class1: com\example\module1\classes\com\example\module1\class1.class (The system cannot find the path specified)public class class1 extends Thread {
           ^
    Note: Some input files use or override a deprecated API.
    Note: Recompile with -deprecation for details.
    1 error
    OK
    Note: Contents of my classes directory for module1:
    classes/com/example/module1/class1.class
    classes/com/example/module1/class2.class
    classes/com/example/module1/class3.class
    classes/com/example/module1/sub1/subclass1.class
    classes/com/example/module1/sub1/subclass2.class
    classes/com/example/module1/sub1/subclass3.class
    => all class files are correctly compiled
    Compiling sources for module module2: E:\temp\_User_\project\packaging\workingdir\source\com/example/module2\class1.java:12: error while writing com.example.module2.class1: com\example\module2\classes\com\example\module2\class1.class (The system cannot find the path specified)public class class1 extends Thread {
           ^
    Note: Some input files use or override a deprecated API.
    Note: Recompile with -deprecation for details.
    1 error
    OK
    Application finished without errors.
    Note: Contents of my classes directory for module2:
    classes/com/example/module2/class1.class
    classes/com/example/module2/class2.class
    classes/com/example/module2/class3.class
    classes/com/example/module2/sub1/subclass1.class
    classes/com/example/module2/sub1/subclass2.class
    classes/com/example/module2/sub1/subclass3.class
    So, as you can see everything compiles as expected, but an error message is displayed related to each first file that is compiled.
    ==> Is this a known issue ?
    ==> What can I do about it ?
    Suggestions welcome
