Compiler Errors: Classpath Problems

I am working on a new project, and am getting a number of
compiler errors, such as the ones below.
The class or interface 'flash.geom.Matrix' could not be
loaded.
The class or interface 'flash.display.BitmapData' could not
be loaded.
The class or interface 'flash.geom.Point' could not be
loaded.
These errors are occurring since installing Sandy and adding
a new classpath
(Edit>Preferences>ActionScript>ActionScript 2.0 Settings).
My classpaths are as follows.
$(LocalData)/Classes
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS3\ASLibraries
Have I messed up my standard Flash classpaths, or is this
likely a problem specific to Sandy? Does the order of the addresses
in the classpath list matter?
Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks for the fast response clbeech.
I deleted all 3 paths and tested the movie.
I got 1 compiler error (see below).
The file 'toplevel.as', which is required for typechecking
ActionScript 2.0, could not be found. Please make sure the
directory '$(LocalData)/Classes' is listed in the global classpath
of the ActionScript Preferences.
Then, I added 1 address to the classpaths: “.”.
I got 1 compiler error (see below).
The file 'toplevel.as', which is required for typechecking
ActionScript 2.0, could not be found. Please make sure the
directory '$(LocalData)/Classes' is listed in the global classpath
of the ActionScript Preferences.
Next I added a second address to the classpaths:
“$(LocalData)/Classes”.
I got 4 compiler errors (see below).
The class or interface 'Camera3D' could not be loaded.
The class or interface 'Group' could not be loaded.
The class or interface 'Group' could not be loaded.
The class or interface 'Object3D' could not be loaded.
Then I added the third address (this is the address to the
Sandy files): “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash
CS3\ASLibraries”.
I got 34 compiler errors (below are the first two errors).
The class or interface 'flash.geom.Matrix' could not be
loaded.
The class or interface 'flash.display.BitmapData' could not
be loaded.
The set of four errors (Camera3D, Group, etc.) are all Sandy
related. I don’t understand why adding the last address to
the classpath list creates the errors that it does. Shouldn’t
it tell Flash where to find Camera3D, Group, etc? Any thoughts?

  • Compiling error! Classpath is incomplete

    Hi,
    I have created a Web Dynpro Project, and imported a web service model. When I built the project, it cannot find the class file for com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.gci.WSTypedModelClass.
    I have tried to run the action "Repair". And a new compilation error appear and the error is as followed:
    "This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type java.lang.object (typically some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath" and
    "This project was not build since it's classpath is incomplete. Cannot find class file for java.lang.object. Fix the classpath then try rebuilding this project."
    On-resource: InternalWebDynproCOInterfaceView.java
    Help help please.
    Thank you!

    Thanks. But there isn't one that can address my error:
    "This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type java.lang.object (typically some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath" and

  • Problem When Import Java Class -compilation error

    Hi all
    I made a java class that has methods to return Screen width and Height .
    package tarek;
    import java.awt.Dimension;
    import java.awt.Toolkit;
    public class Screen
    Dimension dim ;
    public Screen()
    dim = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
    public double getWidth()
    double w = dim.getWidth();
    return w;
    public double getHeight()
    double h=dim.getHeight();
    return h;
    I made the jar file " screen.jar" and make it ready to use in form builder
    I opened form builder and make import java class (From program>import java class>choose the class anc click import)
    The class now imported successfully and the PL/SQL package body is:
    PACKAGE Screen /* tarek.Screen */ IS
    -- DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - it is machine generated!
    -- Constructor for signature ()V
    FUNCTION new RETURN ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
    -- Method: getHeight ()D
    FUNCTION getHeight(
    obj ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT) RETURN NUMBER;
    -- Method: getWidth ()D
    FUNCTION getWidth(
    obj ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT) RETURN NUMBER;
    END;
    Now I made a button on the form and i WRITE THIS CODE TO INVOKE THE CLASS on when_button_pressed
    DECLARE
         vScreen_Class ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
    BEGIN
         vScreen_Class := SCREEN.NEW;
    END;
    My problem is I have compilation error
    error 306 AT LINE 5 , COLUMN 25
    wrong number or types of argument in call to "NEW"
    I do not know what is the reason of this compilation error?
    Is it because the method in java return "double datatype" while in oracle return "number datatype"
    Please help

    Sarah, I ca not move my thread to JDeveloper because it is not java issue. The problem is with my PL/SQL code and the way I make Import Java class to forms Builder. The Java code is OK.

  • "Compiler error. Report this problem to NI." LV7.0

    I get the error "Compiler error. Report this problem to NI; nmx unbundler bad sea/eea or edisp-sdisp=0x4".
    I generated a test vi, where you can reproduce the error.
    The error happens, when saving or running the vi.
    This kind of error is happening in LV6.0, LV7.0 and LV7.1, maybe also in other versions (see posting in NI-zone).
    NI: I think it´s time to correct the error now.

    Hi,
    What is happening is that the data type of the variant is not compatible with the data type wired to the type input because the variant does not have any data type at all.
    To solve the problem you need to give the variant a data type AND whatever you wire to the type input must match this data type.
    I am attaching a VI to show you what I mean.
    In one side it's a an user error but in other side it's a LabVIEW bug...

    5167/21  PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not existHowever, in SQL Developer, I use the same database/login. From the connection view, I drill down to the package, then the body, then Edit, and Compile.
    All I see on the "Messages - Log, Messages" tab is:
    MY_COMPANY_PACKAGE Body Compiled (with warnings)The "Compile Log - Compiler" tab shows a list of warnings, but none of the errors I see in the command line. What bugs me more is that my coworkers who use the same version of SQL Developer connecting to the same database with the same login ID can see the errors in the UI.
    I should note, when I first connect, I do see a small red x on the package body, but it goes away almost immediately once I do something, like clicking "edit" or "compile."

    The default compiler option settings in SQLDeveloper include lots of warnings and there is a database imposed limit of 20 messages so if you have a lot of warnings, the errors aren't shown. The default in the database (and therefore in sql*plus ) doesn't include any warnings.
    To change the compiler options in SQLDeveloper, go to Tools | Preferences|Database PL/SQL compiler options. There are various options for what type of messages to display. You could set performance to DISABLE and the others to ERROR for example.
    The red cross indicates the procedure is invalid.

  • Compilation Error: "class or interface expected" for simple EAR???

    Dear all,
    I have access to the customers NW CE 7.1 SP07 and of course I am using the corresponding NWDS 7.1 SP07 that comes with this CE installation. I am trying to study JEE 5 @ SAP and I have created a very simple Application (from the Book http://www.sap-press.de/katalog/buecher/titel/gp/titelID-1480).
    In NWDS I have created the following 4 projects:
    1. Dictionary Project
    Describes 2 Tables (TMP_EMPLOYEES and TMP_ID_GEN)
    2. EJB 5 Project
    Contains a stateless EJB + local business interface + Entity class.
    The EJB accesses the entity class, which is mapped to a simple table (TMP_EMPLOYEES).
    3. Dynamic Web Project
    Contains actually only one JSP (index.jsp) which allows to the local business interface for creating a new Entity.
    4. Enterprise Application Project (EAR)
    Creates a package from 2. and 3.
    I have successfully deployed both the Dictionary Project and the EAR (all to the same server).
    But If I call the corresponding URL via web browser I get the following error:
    500   Internal Server Error
    "Error in compiling [/EmployeeWeb/index.jsp] in application [sap.com/EmployeeEar]."
    Details: "The WebApplicationException log ID is [005056841108002A00000070000007AC0139C8D8862D3EED]."
    In the "Log Viewer" of the "SAP NetWeaver Administrator" (via browser...) I have found the following:
    Message: Processing HTTP request to servlet [jsp] finished with error.
    The error is: com.sap.engine.services.servlets_jsp.server.jsp.exceptions.CompilingException: Error in executing the compilation process: [ Compilation Failed! Exit Code=1

    As you can see there is some compilation error, it says 3 times "'class' or 'interface' expected". If i remove all the relevant EJB java code from my index.jsp everything works fine. So I guess there must be some problem with finding the resources. Unfortunately this "logging" is not helpful at all (thank you SAP!). In NWDS everything is fine no problems at all!!!
    Who can help me here with this?
    Thanks in Advance

    I have found the issue.
    in the index.jsp I have the following lines:
    <!-- Import Statements -->
    <%@ page import="javax.naming.InitialContext" %>
    <%@ page import="com.sap.demo.session.EmployeeServicesLocal;" %>
    Now check the end of the second import ==> ;
    Removing the semicolon solves the issue. But the SAP error message is still not very helpful to me.

  • Classpath problem

    i am here stuck..
    my dir structure is
    c:\my\xxx\yyy\zzz
    i have a code ...
    package xxx.yyy.zzz;
    class A
    // some code
    }i have compiled sucessfully and put the clsss file into c:\my\xxx\yyy\zzz folder.
    now i want to import it in another class
    like...
    package xxx.yyy; // note this
    import xxx.yyy.zzz.*; // note this
    class B
    // some code
    // creating instance of class A here
    }question is how do i compile and run it ?
    i am at c:\my---> what should be the command to compile and run the above code?
    plz give me the explicit command so that i can test and verify . i have given the dir structure.
    i have tried several ways but got class not found exception and errors . i know its a classpath problem but i could not figure out what should i type at the c:\my prompt.
    can u give exact command to run and compile the above code in steps ?
    thanx

    question is how do i compile and run it ?You don't with that code. You've defined class A to have "package visibility," meaning it can't be used from outside its package. You should declare it with public visibility instead, like "public class A {...".
    Once you change that, use these commands to compile and run:c:\my\>javac xxx/yyy/zzz/A.java
    c:\my\>javac xxx/yyy/B.java
    c:\my\>java xxx.yyy.B

    This appears to be a CLASSPATH problem (you are missing references to
              'com.ford.redherring.model.*' and 'com.ford.redherring.util.*'). The
              CLASSPATH may be set in the server startup script. Hope this helps.

  • Newbie:  jsp compile error w/ tomcat 5.0.19

    Hello there, this is my first time try to write something in jsp/ servlets, and i encounter a minor installation problem:
    using mdk linux with j2sdk1.4.2 (locate at /usr/local/), tomcat is also locate at /usr/local.
    I am able to see HelloServlet.java, and HelloWorld.html at http://localhost:8080/servlet/HelloServlet
    and http://localhost:8080/testing/HelloWorld.html
    but i'm unable to see HelloWorld.jsp at http://localhost:880/HellowWorld.jsp (my HelloWorld.html and HellowWorld.jsp are locate at the same dir)
    here's are the things i added in my /etc/profile so far:
    CATALINA_HOME="/usr/local/Tomcat"
    export CATALINA_HOME
    JAVA_HOME="/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2"
    export JAVA_HOME
    JavaPath="/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2/bin"
    export JavaPath
    PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig
    export PKG_CONFIG_PATH
    CLASSPATH=$CLASSPATH:/usr/local/Tomcat/common/lib/servlet-api.jar:/usr/local/Tomcat/
    common/lib/jsp-api.jar:/home/allen/programming/j2ee/:./
    export CLASSPATH
    when do java -verison, i see:
    [root@localhost local]# java -version
    java version "1.4.2"
    Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2-b28)
    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-b28, mixed mode)
    when start tomcat, i got:
    [root@localhost bin]# ./startup.sh
    Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/Tomcat
    Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/local/Tomcat
    Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/local/Tomcat/temp
    Using JAVA_HOME: /usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2
    i thought i did everything that was told, yet i can't see jsp page on my browser, while i can see servlets and html,
    thank you for your time in advance ^_^

    sorry, it was a typo, yea...it was for http://localhost:8080/testing/Hello.jsp
    this morning, i copied "tool.jar" from j2sdk1.4.2 to my /usr/local/tomcat/common/lib, restarted, fire it up again using "./catalina.sh" just to see where the problems came from, and here's where the compile error occue:

    looking over the compiler error, it seems to me tomcat is able to recongize /usr/local/j2sdk1.4 's location. which i assume it implied JAVA_HOME and CLASSPATH are setup correctly.
    Dunno why it just won't display jsp pages and kept saying compiler error...
    thank you for helping

  • What does the ejbc message 'Unexpected compiler error.  Result: 252' indicate?

    Every other Result I get provides a meaningful error message, but this is absolutely useless. How do I debug 'Result: 252'? This code comes from running EJBC via ANT. If I run it at the command line, I just get back 'Unexpected compiler error.' right away. I've double checked class names, file names, etc. What's dying here? 10 out of 12 of my beans compile, but those last 2...

    I had the same problem.
    It has to do with the classpath. I tried using other ejbc version and my problem was that I had a class not included in the classpath.

  • Classpath problem in tomcat

    I have just changed to a new server and went from tomcat 3.3.1a to 4.1.24
    I moved my application by putting my war file in the webapps directory.
    I am getting a compile error when I ask for my first jsp page. It has a
    usebean in it and it seems that the class of the bean can not be found. my
    servlet finds it ok, to instantiate the bean, but the jsp can not seem to
    find it. it's in the application's web-inf/classes directory.
    in the application's log, after the compile error, it lists the classpath
    as
    classpath=/E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/webapps/webDragon/WEB-INF/classes/;/E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/webapps/webDragon/WEB-INF/lib/commons-httpclient.jar;/E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/webapps/webDragon/WEB-INF/classes/;/E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/webapps/webDragon/WEB-INF/lib/commons-httpclient.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/shared/classes/;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/classes/;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/endorsed/xercesImpl.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/endorsed/xmlParserAPIs.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/activation.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/ant.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/commons-collections.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/commons-dbcp.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/commons-logging-api.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/commons-pool.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/jasper-compiler.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/jasper-runtime.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/jdbc2_0-stdext.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/jndi.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/jta.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/mail.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/naming-common.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/naming-factory.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/naming-resources.jar;E:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/common/lib/servlet.jar
    note the first entries are specific to my application - webDragon.
    also note the forward slash / before the drive letter that tomcat is
    installed on for the application specific paths. the other paths to the
    "typical" tomcat jar files do not contain the forward slash.
    also note that the entries for my application are listed twice.
    it seems that the slash is being added somewhere, but I can't figure out
    where.
    does anyone have any ideas ?

  • Compilation Error

    Hi Guys,
    I am trying to compile and run my java application from the command prompt but am having some errors. I tried compiling with :
    inside the bin folder>> javac foe.java
    but i get some errors that it can't find some classes that are been refered to by the above main class.
    Do i have to compile all classes that the above main class references? and if so how do i do it?
    thanks.

    Do i have to compile all classes that the above main class references?No need. The compiler will automatically compile them.
    but i get some errors that it can't find some classes that are been refered to by the above main class.CLASSPATH Problem. Post the full error message.

  • Another simple classpath problem question

    Hi All
    Yes I know, there are a lots of questions about this matter, but I couldn't found a solution to my problem.
    I have a simple program:
    public class prueba {
            public static void main(String[] args) {
                    System.out.println("Ahi va...");
    }placed in /tmp/javier/prueba.java
    After compiled, I've tried to run it from / and then problems started:
    cd /
    java /tmp/javier/prueba
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: /tmp/javier/prueba (wrong name: prueba)
    I said, ok...it could be a classpath problem...then:
    java -cp /tmp/javier/ /tmp/javier/prueba
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: /tmp/javier/prueba
    Damn, another try...
    java -cp .:/tmp/javier/ /tmp/javier/prueba
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: /tmp/javier/prueba (wrong name: prueba)
    Jesus Christ....may be the last slash....
    java -cp .:/tmp/javier /tmp/javier/prueba
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: /tmp/javier/prueba (wrong name: prueba)
    Oh...no.... may be classpath to java classes..
    java -cp .:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.2_01/lib/jre/:/tmp/javier/ /tmp/javier/prueba
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: /tmp/javier/prueba (wrong name: prueba)
    Well, I don't know why this error happens....
    Please, could somebody help me !!!
    Thanks in advance...

    It's not too early to start following the Sun coding
    conventions for Java:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/codeconv/html/CodeConvTOC.doc.
    tmlHi
    thanks for your reply.
    Yes, I agree. I use conventions with my programs. But my real problem was with a real application and then I did quickly this simple code to help others to understand the problem and give a fast reply...
    Let me know if that works. (It was fine on my
    machine.) - MODYes it works fine, thanks.... and Damn...Murphys law again, the only option I didn't tried is the solution to my problem... :)
    Thanks again...

    What is wrong? I am using a Win2000.

    This code compiles and runs fine on my Windows 2000 machine running JDK 1.4.1:
    import java.sql.*;
    public class AnotherConnectionTester
        public static void main(String [] args)
            String jdbcDriver = "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver";
            String protocolHeader = "jdbc:odbc:";
            String dbName = "myodbc3-test";
            String user = "";
            String password = "";
            try
                Class.forName(jdbcDriver);
                Connection cn = DriverManager.getConnection(protocolHeader+dbName, user, password);
                DatabaseMetaData meta = cn.getMetaData();
                System.out.println("product name: " + meta.getDatabaseProductName());
            catch (Exception e)
                e.printStackTrace(System.err);
    }I set up an ODBC DSN myodbc3-test to connect to an Access database. It was no problem. I guess that doesn't explain why your post didn't work. I changed the name of the class and added that meta data output so I could make sure that it connected. - MOD

  • Classpath problems in EAR packaging?

    I try to access an EJB from a JSP. The JSP resides in web.war and the bean is in ejb.jar, and both of these are packaged together in an ear.
    I get a compile error when I try opening a JSP. I've had this problem in all my attempts to use my bean classes from JSP.
    My browser reports that the compiler cannot find the beans package. I have servlets within the war-file that are able to find the beans package, but the JSPs aren't.
    My ear-file contains 3 files
    ejb.jar
    web.war
    META-INF\MANIFEST.MF
    The manifest classpath points to ejb.jar and web.war
    My guess is that this has something to do with the way this is deployed by GlassFish.
    The application is deployed in the
    domains\mydomain\applications\j2ee-apps\myear\
    This directory contains the expanded files:
    ejb_jar\
    web_war\
    META-INF
    So the Java classes under web_war\ are able to see the Java classes under ejb_jar\ (i.e. my servlets)
    However; when GlassFish creates Java files from the JSPs and then tries to compile them, these files are placed under
    domains\mydomain\generated\jsp\j2ee-apps\myear\web_war\org\apache\jsp\jsp
    This might be correct for all I know, but apparently the compiler is unable to find the Java classes located under the mydomain\applications\.. directory when compiling classes located under the mydomain\generated\.. directory. There are no other files from my ear anywhere in the "generated" directory.
    So to me this seems to be some kind of classpath problem, as the compiler cannot find the needed files.
    Does this make any sense to anyone?
    PS
    In my ear, the JSPs are placed in the web.war. The war file looks like this:
    jsp\
       myjsp.jsp
    META-INF
       MANIFEST.MF
    WEB-INF
       web.xml
       lib\
          mylib.jarThanks

    Marius,
    If you want communicate the bean you have to do following things.
    . Create a factory for the correct protocol
    . Obtain a Home
    . Use the Home to create stubs to the remote object
    So you want to call the Home and Remote interfaces to access the bean. When you run the client program, it will create the remote object that time it has to search the Home and Remote interfaces. So you have included those files for references in following location
    WEB-INF/classes
         -- <Home Interface File Name>.class
         -- <Remote Interface File Name>.class
    Or
    WEB-INF/lib
         -- <Bean Jar file name>.jar
    I think you will understand.
