Compiling .fmb

Hi,
I am compiling my .fmb files through forms migration assistant wizert under Developer suite , after I do finish, it gives me converter log as ERROR opening C:\HMSS\Hmsdev\Accounts\Fmb\ac_mm_bd.fmb :oracle.forms.jdapi.JdapiException: FRM-10102: Cannot attach PL/SQL library Utlfunc. This library attachment will be lost if the module is saved.Check subclass and library dependencies
I have mentioned the source of my .fmb and library files under FORMS_PATH in registry, but still it is giving error, where else I have to mention the source path?
Any advice pls.
Regards

Recompile the dependencies first (PLL, MMB, etc).
Having said that, generally there is no reason or advantage in using the Migration Assistant. The most common exception would be if your application originated in version 6.x or older and you used RUN_PRODUCT rather than RUN_REPORT_OBJECT to call Reports. In this case, the MA will assist you in replacing this code. If you are upgrading from 9.x to 10 or 11, it would likely be easier to just use the compiler directly to generate your PLXs, then MMXs, then FMXs,

  • Compiling .fmb on solaris

I just developed a Form with Forms9i on Windows NT.
Now I want to deploy this form to our Application Server (9iAS Release 2) on a Solaris Machine.
I know I cannot transfer the (NT-) compiled FMX to Solaris - I know I have to compile the FMB directly on Solaris to get
    a correct runnable FMX-File.
My question: How to compile FMB on Solaris? I found a script "f90genm.sh". Whats that script, how to use it? Where can i find information about compiling FMBs on Solaris without Forms-Builder? Or is it a MUST to install Forms Builder on Solaris?
    Many thx for your help!

  • Command to compile fmb,pll,mmb in 10g(10.1.2.0.2)

    Hi,
We are migrating from Oracle Forms 6i to 10.1.2.0.2 version.
    1. what will be command to compile PLL,MMB,FMBs on unix box?
    2. which location and directory I can find that script? Do I need to create that compilation script from scratch or i just need to edit information which is already present in that script?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Compiling fmb module in Form builder does not change the fmx file

    Hi,
I am using Oracle Forms Builder version 10.1.2.0.2 To edit 10g2 forms.
In the last month, it happened twice that an fmb file I edited in the forms builder did not change the fmx aftrer compilation.
namely, when I opened the fmx file in the application, I didn't see the changes, but they were present in the fmb form opened in the Form Builder.
Usually when we have the fmx file open in the application, the form builder won't let me compile it - showing the following error:
FRM-30087: Unable to create form file
When this error happens and the changes are not reflected, this error message doesn't appear even though the fmx file is open in the application.
I tried deleting the fmx file, and then opening it in the application to see if there is another copy of it.
The application gave an error 40010 - can't read form.
When I recompiled the file, the fmb didn't show any changes either, even though the file was created again in the file system.
I could not find a way to consistently reproduce this problem.
Did you ever encounter such a problem?
I noticed the edit -> preferences -> general menu has the option to "save befor building".
Does it mean the Form Builder keeps a cached copy of the fmb in memory, and when this error happens it compiles the original file system fmb file rather than the cached memory copy with the changes?
    Thanks,

    Hey Craig,
    Thank you for your response.
I verified the version of the forms on the Application Server and they are the same.
This problem is quite tricky to reproduce, it happens once every few months!
(we have about 10 developers, who are developing and testing on multiple servers - so far two of the servers showed this issue)
I've determined that the reason this happens is that:
    1. The compiled fmx is vied in the application.
** for some reason, the frmweb.exe process on the server does not terminate properly **
    2. The developer compiles the form again in Form Builder
    3. The Form Builder does not detect that the form is open in the mal-terminated process
There usually is an error message here saying the fmx module is locked - this error happens because this message is not displayed.
I will attach an image of the process monitoring tool we use ( ProceXP ) showing the ghost process that locks the fmx module.
    <edit>oops, I guess I can't attach the image- I can e-mail it if you'd like</edit>
If anyone has an idea for a solution, this will help immensely.

  • Unable to Compile FMB...

    Hi!
I have a 1.2MB FMB Which I am unable to open (if connected to the DB) and Unable to compile (open, connect & compile). How do I fix this?
    Thanks!

The size you mentioned 1.2MB is not too big, unless you have very low profile system. First check that your FMB is not damaged. If you are sure about these two things then mention actual error message that you get and someone will advice you.

  • Compile .fmb file in UNIX with forms 10g

    HI,
Can someone help me in compiling a .fmb file in UNIX? I have created this .fmb file in Forms 10g.I have Oracle Applications in the Front end. I am unable to figure out the commands to compile the form which generates a .fmx file.
I have placed the .fmb file in the UNIX directory. As Forms6i has f60gen....and 9i has f90gen...I want to know the code that I must execute in the command prompt of the UNIX server. I am a fresher to this. So please explain in as detail as you can.
    Thanks
    Dev

    if the previous doesn't help
just put something like this :
find where the frmcmp.sh is located an put the fully qualified path there
make also sure you execute it with the right user! (normally oracle)
I don't know if I already mentioned it bu be aware that you need to have an Xdisplay if your working with frmcmp.sh .
There is a batch command to I believe that doesn't need the Xdisplay
Remember you can use any display of any machine
If you set your display to another hosts screen, type xclock on your prompt and the clock should appear on the others screen.
If you don't know how to look for the command ....
If it is in your PATH -->" type frmcmp.sh " will give you the directory
    If not go to <oracle_home> eg /opt/oracle -- > " find . -name frmcmp.sh "

    Could you please help me?
    Thank you,

I am also working on Forte. Forte has an inbuilt Tomcat. You dont need to copy any files to any where in the file mount system. You need to specify the External / Internal Browser settings, So that when you try to execute it, the .jsp file can be displayed in the browser. I havent faced any problem as you said.

It is your compile_all=yes that is causing the fmb file to be modified. Do as Robin suggested, make a copy and compile that, then delete the copy.

  • Compiler crash Forms 6i

    Hi,
I have a problem with Forms developer 6i. I have a very big form 2.3 MB, and then I added some extra lines of code ( and there are no errors in them ), and when I try to recompile the fmb now it crashes the whole forms developer program !
I think I hit maximum compilesize for fmb's or something - but then again can that really be true ?
Have anyone experienced similar problems ? and does a solution exist.
PS - I tried to add the lines again from the functioning fmb and same thing happened again and again at roughly the same point - around 2.3 MB
    Kind regards
    Bo Normann

First of all, the last two posts are implying that the runform session is crashing. Please note that the original post is talking about the Forms Builder crashing.
I couldn't understand the logic behind 'Finding and Replacing' a semicolon with a semicolon through out the form.If you compile a form, you will notice in the Object Navigator, that each program unit has a '+' by them that you can click and see more options. If you open the source of the program unit, at the bottom of the editor window it says Not Modified . . . Sucessfully Compiled. If you save the form, close it, and re-open it, the program unit still has this compiled indicator.
If you change anything in the program editor, the compiled indicator disappears. If you save the form without compiling, and reopen it, it is still NOT compiled.
All you are doing by changing semicolon to semicolon is forcing every trigger and procedure to become uncompiled. And then if you save the form in this state and check the fmb size, you will notice a much smaller fmb size. You will notice when you open such a form in the Builder, the open is faster, and the first compile is slower (just like doing a shift-ctrl-K compile-all). On the other hand, a form saved with all compiled code opens slower, but first compile is fast. Apparently when Oracle opens a pre-compiled fmb, it tries to verify the compiled program units.
However, these compiled program units cause problems -- we have had problems using pre-compiled fmb's transported to different environments failing in stored-procedure calls and other places. Doing a compile-all (shift-ctrl-K) clears the problem.
The bottom line is this: Storing compiled code inside an fmb does no good. Oracle has been doing it from the beginning of client/server forms, along with storing a copy of the color palette, too. In BOTH situations, this has caused issues with forms, especially when moved from one environment to another. In my workplace, we make SURE we always store production forms WITHOUT the compiled code. They transport quicker due to smaller file size, and they compile cleaner in the users environments.

    Regards,

What do you mean by having done the necessary sendmail changes?
From what I understand, your question cannot be easily answered without knowing your security or Firewall DMZ requirements. You may have to define a default mail relay gateway on your sendmail server to relay all outgoing messages to a specific relay mail server for forwarding to the Internet.
You may also have to define approprate mail exchange MX records in your DNS.
Perhaps you can use Sendmail's personal mail forwarding. Sendmail allows individual users to define their own forwarding. The user defines personal forwarding in the .forward file in the home directory. Sendmail checks for this file after using the aliases file and before making final delivery to the user. If the .forward file exists, sendmail delivers the mail as directed by that file. For example, say that user oracle has a .forward file in the home directory that contains [email protected]

Well, I'm going to skip the obvious response that you're posting in the wrong forum, or that you should have checked the on-line help, or the product documentations, or even using forum search.
    Forms:
    f90genm.sh module=$1 Module_Type=$module_type userid=$projekt_user@$2 compile_all=YES batch=YES
    module_type is form/menu/library. The latter for pll's
    Reports:
    rwconverter.sh source=$1 userid=$projekt_user@$2 stype=RDFFILE dtype=REPFILE batch=yes overwrite=yes
Just replace my $-substitue with your data.
