Compiling in Kdevelop
Hi,
I installed kdevelop, but it doesn't have an option under the build menu to build the code. I'm using the C editor... and have already installed most of the tools I need for compiling C, of course including GCC.
Already checked the configuration menu, but it says nothing about the compiler.
What should I do to build C programs directly on it?
Thanks in advance.

Your post speaks for itself. "most of the things". Did you miss out on something ? Because most of the time, "most of the things" is simply not enough. You need EVERYTHING
Whas's everything?
I mean, for compiling a Hello World in C, gcc suffices... not?

Last edited by Ferhiord (2007-09-25 21:14:23)If you use KDevelop, I think you need to provide QT4 Path before compiling anything.
Look in your project option.
May I suggest using QDevelop?

Kdevelop and mingw (crosscompiling)
Hi ! I really dont't know if this post has to be here, but anyways ! (it has to do with programming so...:P)
My big issue is : i have to crosscompile a c++ program to win32 but i can't even can set the compiler properly !
I've tryed mingw so far and i can't get to it work ! It's been a whole day of research and i still can't !
The ide i'm using right now is Kdevelop running on arch64. One funny thing that i noticed right after downloading mingw from the aur
was that the mingw command was something like "i486-mingw-gcc" ! Is this really ok or is there something wrong on the aur repo!
Anyways i'll stick the logs here !

There seems to be something wrong with the mingw installation since kde cannot correctly execute the i586-mingw32 but i'm still kind of noob !
I'll dig the config files deeper tomorrow, but i'll be nice to hear some major advices !
I hope someone can help me out ! I'll appreciate it !:)
PS : I've been using arch(linux in fact) for almost 1 month and i have to admit it's awesome , for someone who is willing to learn how this 1010101 thingis called computer works it's just awesome !You learn something new everytime you switch on the computer! Keep it up with the good work!

Pro*C linux, Kdevelop
Hi,
I am trying to port some Pro*c code that was developed in Visual Studio over to linux. I havn't been able to find anything on compiling Pro*c on linux using Kdevelop as my development environment. I am hoping that I don't have to compile each Pro*c file seperately outside the environment then adding the generated C++ each time back into my project. I am looking for a slick way to do this maybe altering the automated make files generated in Kdevelop somehow? All Visual Studio needed was a custom command line step specifying a target, can't seem to find anything similar in Kdevelop. Can someone Help?
thanks,Hmm, got KDevelop running but can't seem to get Pro*C added anywhere as a custom make. Perhaps I manually edited the autotools scripts to handle it. Or, it wasn't actually KDevelop I was using :(
Let me see how difficult a patch would be for it. -
Can't compile with QT4 anymore
Hi,
Since last upgrade I can't compile my qt4 apps with KDevelop or QDevelop. It says something like :
make: *** No rules to build target « /opt/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++/qmake.conf », required by « Makefile ». Stopping.
The qt-config tool does not exist anymore. There is a qtconfig one but, doesn't seem to be helping.
I know that the files in the the qt4 package have been moved from /opt/qt4 to /usr/, but still I don't know what to do.
I'm stuck !The fact is I cannot compile ANYTHING in QT4 !
Let's take an example. I want to compile QPaddy (you can find it on qt-apps.org).
I set the vars (which doesn't seem to have any effect):
export QTDIR=/usr/share/qt4
export QMAKESPEC=/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++
export QT_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/include/Qt
I try to compile QPAddy :
qmake qpaddy.pro
make
Here is what I get :
cd src/ && make -f Makefile
make[1]: quittant le répertoire « /root/docs/qpaddy0876/src »
make: *** [sub-src-make_default] Erreur 2
And now the MakeFile :

Any idea ? -
Hi to everybody...
I'll like to use the KDevelop to program in python... I've the kdevelop-python plugin, but I can't compile this plugin to install it. I have an error when I'm trying to compiling. I'm using cmake-gui to configure it, and after that I would execute "make" and "make install", but I have the following error:
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindKDE4.cmake:95 (find_package):
By not providing "FindKDE4Internal.cmake" in CMAKE_MODULE_PATH this project
has asked CMake to find a package configuration file provided by
"KDE4Internal", but CMake did not find one.
Could not find a package configuration file provided by "KDE4Internal" with
any of the following names:
KDE4InternalConfig.cmake
kde4internal-config.cmake
Add the installation prefix of "KDE4Internal" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or set
"KDE4Internal_DIR" to a directory containing one of the above files. If
"KDE4Internal" provides a separate development package or SDK, be sure it
has been installed.
Call Stack (most recent call first):
CMakeLists.txt:14 (find_package)
Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
the KDevPlatform_DIR value is "/usr/lib/cmake/kdevplatform"
so, where is the error ????Hi! I don't exactly understand your question, the plugin you are talking about is in the [extra] repository and there is even a PKGBUILD in AUR for the latest development version:
ismaelvc@toybox ~ $ packer -Ss kdevelop python
extra/kdevelop-python 1.4.1-1 [instalado]
Python language and documentation plugin for KDevelop
aur/kdevelop-python-git 20120328-1 (27)
Python plugin for KDevelop - GIT build
Have you tried those?
I haven't tryed to build the 'git' one though, so I can't tell you if it works.

G++ in KDevelop?
I would to use gcc and g++ in KDevelop instead CMake. Is possible? How?
Thanks.Grant wrote:I would to use gcc and g++ in KDevelop instead CMake. Is possible? How?
What do you mean exactly?
CMake is a build-system. It only creates the Makefiles. The gcc und g++ are compilers. They may be used by the make system to compile your sourcecode. Cmake builds Makefiles using the compiler of your choice. If the gcc/g++ is available it would be used by default (which is the default on most Linux systems)...
KDevelop is designed to support projects based on the CMake build system and it does this very well. IMHO much better than its competitors. If you want to force CMake to change the compiler just define your favorite one via setting the CMAKE_C_COMPILER and CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER attributes.

Error in compiling Photoshop CC 2014 sample project
Hi,
I am trying to compile SDK sample project "outbound". but it is showing errors, as "Parse Issue: Unknown type name 'DialogPtr' " in DialogUtilities.h .
DialogUtilities.h file is in "Adobe Photoshop CC 2014:photoshopsdk:pluginsdk:samplecode:common:includes".
even if I add this path in project settings it still shows the errors.
how can I make this work?
I am using Photoshop CC 2014 and Xcode version is 4.6.3 (4H1503)
If you have any idea regarding project settings then please let me know.
Thanks and regards,
Priyanka.Are you using the CC 2014 release of the SDK?
The DialogUtilities.h for mac do not work. They are the old Carbon API's. See the Dissolve example for an Objective-C UI.
I would comment out the DialogUtilities.h include and other associated headers for Carbon UI. Some Carbon calls still work that are unrelated to UI. -
Compilations: Can you show just one album cover with mixes/compiations?
Using the current iTunes (11.01) is a misery. I have numerous mix discs and compilations, and for each title eg Royksopp's BACK TO MINE mix, there are about 15 tiles of the album, one for each song. In extreme cases, there may be over 100. Since I have God knows how many songs, easily in the tens of thousands, this is an extremely inefficient way to display my collection.
Is there any way to display albums with just the one album cover and title showing each time? THis is ridiculous.
Thanks in advance.Wow!
Is that really so?
I'm not questioning your answer. Just want to make sure before I say OK and let it be. I had heard that iTunes/iPod forces you to do things their way, this is an example, I guess!
Thanks for the input.
I guess I'll just have to leave it be!
Is iTunes the only way to deal with iPod? Are there any other programs?

Error in executing a process for compilation for jsp
We have an iView which has jsp pages in it. We deployed the par & try toaccess the iview & we get an exception. The issue is that the iview has a jsp page. At the run time, this jsp is converted into a .java file
without problem. But EP engine is having issues compiling this java fileinto .class file.
On the other hand this same iview works just fine on our windows installation. Only Solaris EP install is having problems. The version onwindows as well as on Solaris is EP6 SP9.
Here is the exact version on the solaris EP:
sap.com/SAP-JEECOR 6.40 SP9 (1000.6.40.9.0.20041119045253) 20041122132733
sap.com/SAP-JEE 6.40 SP9 (1000.6.40.9.0.20041119045409) 20041122132741
When I copy the .class file from windows to unix machine, the iView works fine. Here is the exception I am getting:

I am having the same issue with another iview which has jsp page in it.
The web dynpro iview works fine.Hi, seems like there's some typo in your jsp. Check the .java file listed with a java editor (like eclipse or devstudio.). Maybe you'll find the typo this way faster.
Most often, a multiline page import hampers jsp compilation,
e.g.
<%@page import="java.util.List,
java.util.Map"%>
needs to be
<%@page import="java.util.List,java.util.Map"%>

Any suggestion???
ThanksHi:
the problem was not resolved deleting/uploading the components, the problem was resolved increasing the memory in the host and tuning the JVM memory parameters.
In our host the memory was reduced and this was the origin of the problem

Hi,
deployin my model i get the following error-message.
"Error in executing a process for Flex compilation, Error: Branch between 64935 and 97770 around line 0 exceeds 32K span. If possible, please refactor this component.
Error: Branch between 64935 and 97770 around line 0 exceeds 32K span."
Do i delete a sort-element from my model it is deployed very well. So what does this message exactly mean and how can I locate where the error occurs and how can i fix that problem because i need this sort-element to be in my model.
Thanks for your help!
TobiasHi Tobias,
You are receiving this error due to a current limitation in the Flex server. How you can fix this is to split the iView you are currently working on into two iViews, and embed one within the other. This will decrease the size of the current iView you are receiving the error for and eliminate this problem.
Hope this helps

Compilation error while calling static method from another class
Hi,
I am new to Java Programming. I have written two class files Dummy1 and Dummy2.java in the same package Test.
In Dummy1.java I have declared a static final variable and a static method as you can see it below.
package Test;
import java.io.*;
public class Dummy1
public static final int var1= 10;
public static int varDisp(int var2)
return(var1+var2);
This is program is compiling fine.
I have called the static method varDisp from the class Dummy2 and it is as follows
package Test;
import java.io.*;
public class Dummy2
public int var3=15;
public int test=0;
test+=Dummy1.varDisp(var3);
and when i compile Dummy2.java, there is a compilation error <identifier > expected.
Please help me in this program.public class Dummy2
public int var3=15;
public int test=0;
test+=Dummy1.varDisp(var3);
}test+=Dummy1.varDisplay(var3);
must be in a method, it cannot just be out somewhere in the class!
