Compiling Store procedure

Hallo together,
i am using Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - 64bit Production and PL/SQL Release 11.1.0.6.0 - Production.
I have a store procedure without bind variables, now I write this store procedure with bind variable.
But i can not compile it with the orcale enterprise.
I got following error message:
Error
Committing Failed: Missing IN or OUT parameter at index:: 1
Can anyone help me?

The problem may be in the line
sqlstr := 'SELECT * FROM table WHERE column = :bind_var '; Check the documentation and find out how DBMS_SQL expects you to populate ":bind_var" - you are doing this but there's something Oracle does not like; possibly you are doing itne DBMS_SQL.BIND_VARIABLE in the wrong place (does it go before the parse?). Also, find an example where this is done and look at it carefully.

It depeneds on the requirement. Well, but from performance point of view as u know that stored procedures are already compiled on DB side, they would be more efficient. Views are handled differently. Here CR has nothing to do with it.
But if the stored procedure u r using is having 2 Select statements, CR will only display the results from the first select statement. In that case you need to use Views as one can use more than one views in the report and join them.
Using a Generic view which is created by the DBA for a larger audience will result in performance issues meaning if a View "V" has 25 fields and View is based on 5 tables and ur report is using only 5 fields which are coming only from 2 tables inside the view,in this case u will end up in joining 3 more tables unnecessarily.

How to load and define Java Store Procedures using Consolidator Manager??

I am trying to create a store procedure with a very easy example and I can not succeed. i am a bit new with OLite and I will appreciate any help from your side. I am quite lost now regarding of using java with OLite and it is becoming quite urgent for me. Thanks a lot in advanced.
Those are the steps that I follow:
- Creating the java class
I create the java file MYUPPER.java with next code :

I compile it and I create the jar file:

C:\>jar cf MYUPPER.jar MYUPPER.class
- This is an abstract of my java code using the API:

b) I can see the entries in C$Resouces and in C$Pub_Objects as well
*** ON THE CLIENT:
Then I go to the client device a Windows XP labtop where I did install the jre 5.0 and I added the bin path to the system variable PATH.
- I get a POL-8000 error when synchronizing (could not start the Java Visrtual Machine)
- Anyway, I can see the MYUPPER.class file deployed in the same directory than the databases are.
- I have also tried next from msql:

EA 2.1. Can't edit another users store procedures.

I can't edit store procedures of another users in 2.1 ea version but i can compile it.
In 1.5.5 i can edit the same store procedure.

I tried the following:
create user attest2 identified by xxxxxx;
grant connect to attest2;
grant create procedure to attest2;
grant alter any procedure to attest2;
grant create any procedure to attest2;
grant execute any procedure to attest2;
Now using SQL Developer 2.1 RC1 i can log in with attest2, i can see other users and all their packages, i can open the package and body, the cursor is in the editor but i can't type a thing. The compile button is active and working, but editing is blocked. Creating a procedure under attest2 schema and editing it there works fine.. Using a user with dba privileges also works fine.
No problem in editing other users' procedure with SQL Developer 1.5.4.
I have pretty much the same configuration as the original poster - XP SP3. Database 10.2.0.4

Using store procedures with SQLJ - please help!

I have two questions:
1.I wrote simple test appllication that uses SQLJ to run store
procedures from SQL package. It compiles and work fine from
JDeveloper 3 if I use java version JDK1.2.2_JDeveloper.
It compiles OK in regular JDK1.2.2 but raise the following
exception when running:

com.itrade.trserver.truser.dbqueries.ItrHistorian_SJProfile0 not
found: java.io.InvalidClassException: [Ljava.lang.Object;;
Serializable is incompatible with Externalizable
Does it mean that I have to use JDeveloper JDK?
2.When I give other then default package for *.sqlj file the
*.sqlj file is added to project but I cannot see it in specified
package (the *.sqlj file is created in the its directory).
After I compile the project the I can see *.java file in the
specified package, but compiler gives errors about redefined
symbols. If I remove *.sqlj file from the project it compiles OK.
What I am doing wrong?

Get the body of the store procedure

Hi All,
THe store procedure is created successfully and I don't know how to get the definition of the store procedure. In MSSQL server I used "sp_helptext <store procedure name>" but I don't know how to get text(description) of the store procedure in ORACLE. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi all,
I ran the following statement to get the body of the store procedure:
select text from user_source where name = <store procedure>
and the long text(body of store procedure) is returned back. This store procedure is created with the error message return back as "Warning: Procedure created with compilation errors". So I were wondering why the store procdure is in user_source although the creation of this store procedure is returned an error message as mentioned above. Is there anyway that we can find out if the store procedure is created with the compilation errors.

I NEED TO CREATE AND USE A STORE PROCEDURE THAT IS GOING TO DO A SELECT STATEMENT AN THE RESULT OF THE SELECT STATEMENT IS RETURN IN SOME WAY TO THE REQUESTER.
THIS CALL IS MADE BY AN EXTERNAL LANGUAGE, NOT PL/SQL OR FORMS APPLICATION. USING FOR EXAMPLE ODBC AND VISUAL BASIC. WHAT I NEED TO DO IS ADD A DATA ACCESS LAYER TO MY APPLICATION AND I ALREADY HAVE IT DONE FOR MS SQL SERVER, BUT I NEED THE SAME FUNCTIONALITY ACCESSING AN ORACLE DATABASE.
FLOW:
1. VB CREATE A ODBC CONNECTION TO A ORACLE DATABASE
2. VB EXECUTE A STORE PROCEDURE
3. THE STORE PROCEDURE RETURNS TO THE VB APPLICATION THE RESULT OF THE QUERY THAT IS INSIDE OF THE STORE PROCEDURE.(I.E. THE STORE PROCEDURE IS A BASIC SELECT, NOTHING COMPLEX)
4. VB DISPLAY THE RESULT IN A GRID
FOR SURE I CAN DO THE SELECT DIRECTLY TO ORACLE, BUT FOR PERFORMANCE REASONS AND SCALABILITY, I'LL LIKE IT TO DO IT USING A STORE PROCUDURES

Certainly, it's possible. First, define a stored procedure that includes an OUT parameter which is a REF CURSOR. Then, call the stored procedure via ODBC omitting the OUT parameter from the list of parameters. IT will automatically be returned as a result set. Syntax for both is below...
CREATE PROCEDURE foo (inParam in varchar2, resultSet OUT REF CURSOR )
In ODBC:

UNABLE TO EXECUTE THE CMDSQL SCRIPT IN A STORE PROCEDURE.

I am trying to call a .sql file from sql cmd mode.
The requirement is to pass the .sql file as parameter value to the cmd script which I have able to achieve,here is the code which is working fine .

But when I try to wrap this code in store procedure it is giving the message fatal error but when I run it without wrapping it in store proc it is doing its job with no error . When I looked into the store proc I found the code as

It seems like the sqlcmd code disappears automatically. I have no clue why it is happening.

It is important to keep in mind that you have two entities in play here. One client and one server. The lines that start with a colon never sent to SQL Server, nor are the lines which reads "go". They are intercepted client-side. For instance :r
instructs SSMS to read a local file and out: redirects the output. And "go" breaks up the code in batches.

Note that rules is a deprecated feature and will be removed in a future version of SQL Server. The replacement for rules is CHECK CONSTRAINTS. You may well want to consider a plan to migrate your current rules to check constraints.

Unfortunately, it is not possible in Xir2 to create Webi reports from stored procedures.
Webi reports can only be created from Universe. So in Business Objects XIR3 we can create a special universe that enables Web Intelligence user's to access stored procedures residing in the database. This is the only way that Web Intelligence user's can access stored procedures.

How can i pass NULL value in Store Procedure?

I am calling one store procedure from MS SQL Server 200, i had create the follow layout:
But i need pass to MSQL SEVER the CPF = NULL, when i execute the procedre the CPF send empty value (not null).
I already changed Communication Channel parammeter "Interpretation of Empty String Values" to "Null Value" value.
But the interface always send empty string instead of null.
How can anybody help me, please?

Hi,
To achieve this through "Interpretation of Empty String Value" in the cc, you will have to implement a patch which is sent to you by SAP when an OSS is raised. By default its not available, i mean you can configure it but it will actually not work.
As a temporary solution you can map your element with a constant/mapwithdefault field with value mentioned as NULL.

How to get a recordset in vb to access a oracle store procedure.

I have a store procedure(sproc) that needs to be called from a VB Application. I was being told that I would have to create a PL/SQL table in my store procedure for the VB Developer to access information from my store procedure. This is beacasue he wants it as a record set. Is that the way to get info for a VB front end. My sproc is a very basic one

Unable to run Store Procedure based deski report in Infoview

Hi All,
I have a Deski report which is created using Store Procedure. I am able to run report in Full Client Deski. But I am unable to run / schedule same report thorough infoview.
More details about report
- Report uses 3 store procedures. When I ran report in infovew I get error message as "SP2 Dataprovider did not refresh properly". -- SP2 is Dataprovider name.
- Same report I am able to run in Dev environment. After migration to Model, report fails to run in model infoview.
- I am able to Run report only for 1st. When I refresh and run with same parameter report shows error.
Any input will be great help.

Hi,
Could you please test the following solutions to resolve the issue.
Solution1:
Test the issue by inserting the following parameter in .SBO file.
<Parameter Name="Force SQLExecute">Always</Parameter> .
Solution2
Just put SET NOCOUNT OFF in the end of the stored procedure SQL.
If the above doesnu2019t works then please try the following solution.
Solution3
Make the new connection from the scratch using ODBC connection and test the issue.

Error while executing store procedure

we are using JSQLConnect jdbc driver 3.0 verson.
When we trued to excute store procedures its giving error like
com.jnetdirect.jsql.w: Stored procedures called with static parameters cannot return output parameter values, please use CallableStatement.setXXX() to set the values of all input parameters.
we are using SQLServer2000.
Could anybody tell me why this is error is coming and how to solve this.
