Compiling XMMS-Cue[SOLVED]

Hi!
I'm trying to install .cue plugin to XMMS to enable playing .cue
But my compiling crushes on some weird error.
interface.c:182: error: "atoi" was not declared in this scope
make: *** [interface.o] Error 1
How to fix this?

It's a bash script that makes an Arch package, which can then be updated through pacman, etc., and uploaded to the AUR for others to enjoy.
You install packages from the AUR with them - you download the PKGBUILD and any other needed files, like patches, and then you run makepkg to make a pacman package to install.
I would highly recommend learning to write PKGBUILDs (It's not too hard) and making one for your app, so you don't end up with random files scattered across your system. If all your software is managed by pacman, it's much cleaner. There's also a forum here for requesting someone to write a PKGBUILD for you.

  • Problems compiling Zaptel package [SOLVED-ISH]

Hey guys, I'm on an Arch64 system and I'm having problems compiling Zaptel (a dependancy for Asterisk).
Here's the pastebin of the errors I get from the Zaptel makefile: http://pastebin.com/776475
    Here's my analysis so far:
There's a line in the Makefile for the zaptel driver that goes like this:
    make -C /lib/modules/2.6.17-ARCH/build/ SUBDIRS=/home/woogie/zaptel/src/zaptel-1.2.8 modules
This line activates the kernel's makefile in order to build modules, but specifies that the source directory for zaptel should be included in the make process.
Then things go down the proverbial drain - linux/err_kernel_only.h gets included in the build process, which is designed to do one thing only - stop the build process. So I'm not entirely too sure what's going on here. Is there something misconfigured on my system, or is the Zaptel build system flawed somehow, such that I need to compensate for it?

    Further information:
I've manually run the problematic make command from /lib/modules/2.6.17-ARCH/build on my own. After reading the kernel makefile documentation, I've learned of the V=1 flag to show me exactly what's going on. The failing command is this one:
    gcc -Wp,-MD,/home/cestus/zaptel/src/zaptel-1.2.8/.zaptel.o.d -nostdinc -isystem /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.1.1/include -D__
    KERNEL__ -Iinclude -include include/linux/autoconf.h -Wall -Wundef -Wstrict-prototypes -Wno-trigraphs -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common -O2
    -fomit-frame-pointer -m64 -mno-red-zone -mcmodel=kernel -pipe -fno-reorder-blocks -Wno-sign-compare -fno-asynchronous-unwind-tables -fun
    it-at-a-time -mno-sse -mno-mmx -mno-sse2 -mno-3dnow -Wdeclaration-after-statement -Wno-pointer-sign -I. -Iinclude -O4 -g -Wall -DBUILDING_T
    ONEZONE -m64 -DSTANDALONE_ZAPATA -DZAPTEL_CONFIG="/etc/zaptel.conf" -DHOTPLUG_FIRMWARE -I/home/cestus/zaptel/src/zaptel-1.2.8//include
    -I/home/cestus/zaptel/src/zaptel-1.2.8//include/oct6100api -DMODULE -D"KBUILD_STR(s)=#s" -D"KBUILD_BASENAME=KBUILD_STR(zaptel)" -D"KBUIL
    D_MODNAME=KBUILD_STR(zaptel)" -c -o /home/cestus/zaptel/src/zaptel-1.2.8/zaptel.o /home/cestus/zaptel/src/zaptel-1.2.8/zaptel.c
I've figured out that the bit which causes the failure is "-include include/linux/autoconf.h", because autoconf.h just includes the "err_kernel_only" header automatically, which then slays the build process. And I've also discovered that the Zaptel devs are uber-leet. They've found the magical -O4 level in gcc. You know, the one above 3, where the supported optimization levels in gcc are -O, -Os, -O2 and -O3

I have already installed the wxgtk package.

Could it be this "configure: WARNING: `missing' script is too old or missing"?

  • Cannot compile db2 application [SOLVED]

OK ppl i really need your help.
    I'm trying to compile a db2 program.
    I have a sqc file.
    I have done:
    db2 prep 13.sqc bindfile
    db2 bind 13.bnd
    gcc -I$DB2DIR/include -I~/sqllib/include -c 13_01.c
and then when i try to do:
    gcc -o program 13_01.o -Wl,-rpath,~/sqllib/lib32 -L~/sqllib/lib32 -ldb2
    i get the following error:
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldb2
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    I have LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/db2inst2/sqllib/lib32 and DB2 is version 9.7.
I have googled and googled and googled but i don't find the solution.
Can someone pls help me I need this so I can prepare for my exams but in classes they only teached us to do this on Windows and I don't like to work in it. I have tried even in Windows, but there I get some really crazy errors (not that I have used different method to try compiling it on Windows, method that they thought us in classes).
    Thank you!

    OMG
    i did it.
I just changed ~/sqllib/lib32 to /opt/ibm/db2/V9.7/lib32 and it worked!

  • Compiling kernel archlinux [SOLVED]

Hi everybody, I have just registered on the forum and I'm a new arch user.
I have a couple of problems that I would like to discuss about:
First problem: I downloaded all the base sistem and linux headers to make a new compilation of the kernel and after having prepared my configuration file, when I hit make, I get this message:
    linux-3.8.11-1-ARCH]# make -j2
    scripts/kconfig/conf --silentoldconfig Kconfig
    # configuration written to .config
    scripts/Makefile.build:44:
    /usr/src/linux-3.8.11-1-ARCH/arch/x86/syscalls/Makefile: No such file or
    directory
make[1]: *** No rule to make target
    `/usr/src/linux-3.8.11-1-ARCH/arch/x86/syscalls/Makefile'.  Stop.
    make: *** [archheaders] Error 2
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
I checked the configuration of the kernel and I tried to remove every voice which has something to do with syscalls, but I still get the mistake.
Do you have any idea of the problem?
    Second problem:
My boot manager is lilo and the system unfortunaly is configure this way:
Name        Flags      Part Type  FS Type          [Label]        Size (MB)
        sda1        Boot        Primary   ext4                            104858.65*
        sda3                        Primary   ext4                             39999.54*
        sda5                        Logical   swap                              1998.75*
        sda6                        Logical   ntfs                            173213.40*
                                        Pri/Log   Free Space                           2.62*
sda1 is arch linux and the kernel of the other linux distro is basically copied is in /boot of the sda1 partition. <-- is this a good way of operating for booting sda3?
    Third problem:
When I boot arch linux I can't see the booting process and this annoy me tremendously, I checked on the the arch wiki for changing the boot debugging optionsbut I think I misunderstood something.
Should I only add this line udev.log_priority=8  to /etc/udev/udev.conf to see the boot debugging?
    Thanks guys!

For the first problem, don't do that. You should never build and install packages directly on an Arch system.  Read up on makepkg and PKGBUILDs to learn how to build packages the right way now. It will make your life easier later.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pkgbuild
You can get the PKGBUILD for the kernel here (or by using one of the PKGBUILD retriever utilities, e.g. pbget:
    i686
    x86_64
Aside from ensuring that the resulting file are properly managed by pacman (file tracking, dependency resolution), the PKGBUILD contains the full set of build instructions and will provide a good place to start if you want to customize them.
For the second question, having multiple kernels in the same boot partition is fine, but you need to be careful to prevent one distribution from messing around with the files of the other, e.g. when updating your boot loader. I would probably let one distro fully manage the boot directory and manually copy in kernel images from the other when I need to.
For the third question, does the following answer it? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Di … t_messages

  • Build failed () configure: error: C compiler create executable[SOLVED]

I am a newbie in the forums, i recently installed arch x86_64 and am having a hard time building packages, i did install base-devel , gcc gcc-fortran gcc-obc..........all that stuff i also installed all the base devel stuff...like fakeroot,flex....(all the base devel stuff) but not luck, when i try 'makepkg -s' it still brings this error ---> " configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables" or sometimes --> configure: error: C++ compiler cannot create executables , i googled a bit on possible solutions, i came acroos similar post but the newbie was not using x86_64, i tried reinstalling GCC but to no avail whats the problem?

  • HTTP Error 500 Compiling JSP's [SOLVED]

Basic Problem:  I am unable to compile jsp's and display them via Tomcat.  I am using the Netbeans IDE for web development and webapps that use html files/servlets run just fine.  It's when I try to run a jsp that I get an Error 500:

    My config is as follows:
    kernel 3.2.4-1-ARCH
    Tomcat: 7.0.25
    jdk: 7-3
    $ java -showversion
    java version "1.7.0"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-b147)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 21.0-b17, mixed mode)
    Netbeans: 7.1
I am running the Sun JRE/JDK.
I emailed the Tomcat mailing list and was told the compiler should be in a file called ecj-3.7.1.jar.  I did a locate on that file and I found the following in /usr/share/java:
    lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root      21 Nov  7 20:41 ecj.jar -> eclipse-ecj-3.7.1.jar
    -rw-r--r--   1 root root 1183268 Nov  7 20:41 eclipse-ecj-3.7.1.jar
    lrwxrwxrwx   1 root root      21 Nov  7 20:41 eclipse-ecj.jar -> eclipse-ecj-3.7.1.jar
According to the fellow who I think is the Tomcat maintainer, the eclipse-ecj-3.7.1.jar isn't distributed in standard Tomcat and so to ask whoever packaged mine, which I installed with pacman.
    Thanks.
UPDATE:  I uninstalled tomcat7 via pacman and installed the stock Tomcat7 from apache.org.  Jsp's now compile.

  • OpenMPI compile/link problems [SOLVED]

After installing openmpi 1.6-2, I tried compiling a well-tested mpi program that
I have been running under lam mpi on Debian linux.  Attempting to compile on
Arch openmpi results in missing libraries:
    swallow:~/svn/conv/trunk$ make
    mpicc -g -c main.c
    mpicc -g -c timestep.c
    mpicc -g -c thermo.c
    mpicc -g -c toyrad.c
    mpicc -g -c getprofile.c
    mpicc -g -o conv main.o timestep.o thermo.o toyrad.o \
    getprofile.o -lcdf -lm
    main.o: In function `main':
    /home/raymond/svn/conv/trunk/main.c:157: undefined reference to `lam_mpi_comm_world'
    /home/raymond/svn/conv/trunk/main.c:158: undefined reference to `lam_mpi_comm_world'
    /home/raymond/svn/conv/trunk/main.c:187: undefined reference to `lam_mpi_comm_world'
    /home/raymond/svn/conv/trunk/main.c:189: undefined reference to `lam_mpi_comm_world'
    /home/raymond/svn/conv/trunk/main.c:629: undefined reference to `lam_mpi_sum'
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
    make: *** [conv] Error 1
    swallow:~/svn/conv/trunk$
I then downloaded the openmpi package from the OpenMPI website, compiled it myself,
and installed it in /usr/local.  I was able to compile and run the program with no trouble.
(The --prefix /usr/local flag was needed on mpirun.)
I notice that the openmpi libraries have been moved to /usr/lib/openmpi/ in the Arch version.
Presumably Arch openmpi would work if one told the system where the libraries were (I haven't
tried it), but relocating the libraries seems like an unnecessary complication to me and a
    booby trap for the unwary.
Last edited by djraymondnm (2012-09-11 12:57:18)

Compilation of C code works for me. The location of the libs should not be a problem because the linker find them with the following file :
        $ cat  /etc/ld.so.conf.d/openmpi.conf
        /usr/lib/openmpi
I just pushed openmpi-1.6.1 in [extra]. Let me know if it works for you. If not, could you please give me a minimal example that does not compile for you ?

  • Compiling QT4 programs [ solved]

I've recently begin looking at the Trolltech doc site, trying to learn some programming under QT (and also C++).
I noticed that i wasn't able to compile the most simple program under qt4, because of a lack of good configuration with the variables and the compiler could not find my #include libraries. If any of you wanna compile programs with qt4, you should change your enviroment variables to
    QTDIR=/opt/qt4
    QMAKESPEC=/opt/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++
This way you can compile your programs
    Cheers
PD: remember to "qmake -project" and "qmake" before running "make"
PD2: this is for completely newbies as me
PD3: any of you wanna teach me some c++ and qt4?

    as root:
    qt-config qt4
    then:
    logout/login or run "source /etc/profile"
will take care of your environment vars for you.
    Have fun with QT!

  • Compiling gstreamer-vaapi [solved]

    Hi all,
Since AUR doesn't have gstreamer-vaapi in it, I figured I'd compile it by hand so that I could have video acceleration in miro.  Compilation went just fine, but it stated that
    gstreamer-vaapi configuration summary:
    VA-API version ................... : 0.31.1
    GLX support ...................... : yes
    VA/GLX support ................... : yes
    VaapiSink/GL ..................... : no
vaapisink missing I can't add vaapi to gstreamer-properties.  The README also states that I need the libraries
    Software requirements
      * libgstreamer0.10-dev >= 0.10.10
      * libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev >= 0.10.16
      * libva-dev >= 0.31.0-1+sds9 (VA/GLX)
      * libavcodec-dev >= 0.6 or with <libavcodec/vaapi.h>
I can't figure out which packages libva-dev and libavcodec-dev belong to.
So what am I doing wrong?
Last edited by klixu (2010-09-23 16:34:29)

Btw, I downloaded the source myself and configure reports this:
    checking for LIBVA... yes
checking for old VA-API 0.29... no
    checking for LIBVA_X11... yes
    checking for LIBVA_GLX... yes
    checking for LIBAVCODEC... yes
    checking libavcodec/avcodec.h usability... yes
    checking libavcodec/avcodec.h presence... yes
    checking for libavcodec/avcodec.h... yes
    checking ffmpeg/avcodec.h usability... no
    checking ffmpeg/avcodec.h presence... no
    checking for ffmpeg/avcodec.h... no
    checking libavcodec/vaapi.h usability... yes
    checking libavcodec/vaapi.h presence... yes
    checking for libavcodec/vaapi.h... yes
    configure: creating ./config.status
    config.status: creating Makefile
Notice it checks for both /usr/include/ffmpeg and /usr/include/libavcodec/, so configure is fine. The funny thing is, if you use
    ./configure --enable-vaapisink-glx
    it shows this:
    gstreamer-vaapi configuration summary:
    VA-API version ................... : 0.31.1
    GLX support ...................... : yes
    VA/GLX support ................... : yes
    VaapiSink/GL ..................... : yes
I think the default configure switches are borked, maybe you should report this to the devs.

  • How to add support for ULi M5263 10/100M Ethernet [SOLVED]

It seems the more I'm on Arch, the more questions I have
The 4th PC i'm installing Arch on is a athlon 64 3200 on Asrock 939 Dual Sata mobo with ULi M5263 10/100M Ethernet Controller.
A post I've read before on a Linux related forum said one had to add ULi drivers (from ULi/Ali website) to the kernel, until mid-October when the same guy added that the module had been included to the kernel
I installed Arch on the A64 box with latest kernel-2.6.13 from current repo, and it can't recognize the Ethernet controller yet.
So I downloaded latest ULi's driver for Linux, who ask to
Make sure your kernel version number is 2.6.x.
Copy uli526x.c to /usr/src/linux-2.6.x/drivers/net/tulip/, and modify the
following file in this directory. (Make a backup of them.)
    1.Kconfig.in
    2.Makefile
add the following lines to Makefile.(refer to the Makefile we provide to you)
    # Makefile for the Linux "Tulip" family network device drivers.
    obj-$(CONFIG_PCMCIA_XIRTULIP) += xircom_tulip_cb.o
    obj-$(CONFIG_PCMCIA_XIRCOM) += xircom_cb.o
    obj-$(CONFIG_DM9102) += dmfe.o
    obj-$(CONFIG_WINBOND_840) += winbond-840.o
    obj-$(CONFIG_DE2104X) += de2104x.o
    obj-$(CONFIG_TULIP) += tulip.o
    obj-$(CONFIG_DE4X5) += de4x5.o
    obj-$(CONFIG_ULI526X) += uli526x.o
    # Declare multi-part drivers.
    tulip-objs := eeprom.o interrupt.o media.o
    timer.o tulip_core.o
    21142.o pnic.o pnic2.
But I couldn't find where is that Makefile located
What would you guys say the next step can be ?

Thank you for the tip on stock & archck kernels
I'm mirroring Arch's current, extra & testing repositories on an external HDD (+ checked it before).
Tried to add ULi module with the 2.6.13.4 kernel,
I strictly followed "Kernel_Compilation_From_Source" howto, but got that message whatever I rm -Rf /usr/src/kernel-2.6.13.4/ and try again & again  :? :

Do you know why is that  :?:
I'd like to know especially in the case I'd give archck kernel a try then will have to add ULi mudule to it
(EDIT) Found some relevant hack to this problem at "Problem compiling ipsec-tools [SOLVED (kind of..)]".
Here's what the guy did :
I downloaded the source tarball (v0.5.1) and did a quick ./configure && make . Same error you had. But I have a custom build kernel and a full vanilla 2.6.11.7 source on my disk , so I tried to use that instead of the AL headers.
    Code:
    - I renamed the /usr/include/asm to asm-arch, same applies for /usr/include/linux
    - I linked the /usr/include/asm and linux to the kernel source (/usr/src/linux-2.6.11-7/include/asm and linux)
    - I created a link /usr/include/asm-generic which pointed to the kernel source dir as well ...../include/asm-generic )
After that the software compiled beautifully Smile
But it could be it will not work 100% but I didn't notice this when doing this in Slackware.
After installing the software delete the links and rename the asm-arch and linux-arch back to their original names again.
It is dirty but most of the times it worked for me Very Happy
So I'll try his hack this evening if no one comes here and say there's some better (cleaner) way

Reading around, it seems to be caused by setting -xcode=pic32 but I need to set that because I am building a static library that will be linked into a shared library and that requires relocation.
Changing the makefile so that the -xcode=pic32 flag is not passed when compiling .s files solves the problem but I am unsure if I will have an invalid build.
Previous OpenSSL versions have compiled cleanly with this flag set.
Does the message 'internal error' indicate that it is a bug in the compiler? If so is there a fix?
    Can anyone advise please?

Internal errors, such as the one you encountered, are generally considered compiler bugs. They indicate that the compiler reached an unexpected state and therefore bailed out. I opened bug 20703141: internal error: pic_relocs(): hh reltype? to investigate. I see the same error message emitted by the current Studio development release; I will update this thread if I find a work-around.

  • Can't compile using OracleTypes.CURSOR

I'm trying learn how to use Stored Procedures. My IDE is Forte 3.0 CE with Oracle 8i(8.1.6.0.0).
When I try to compile the code below I get an error:
    Cannot Resolve Symbo for OracleTypes.CURSOR
If I change it to Types.VARCHAR it will compile but I get the error:

It seems the issue is that the OracleTypes objects are not available to me.
What do I need to do to include/import those?
    Thanks very much.

OK. So I think I've found the problem but haven't got it working 100% yet.
I believe the solution is to include the classes111.zip file in the classpath. This file contains the oracle.jdbc.driver package.
The problem is I've included this in the classpath on my Windows 2000 Pro Machine (using Control Panel?system>envirnoment variables>classpath) but when I try to import the package it still can't find it.
So,if I can figure out why the classes111.zip is not being found by the compiler that should solve the problem.

  • The "Cover Flow" / "Album Artist" duplicate albums problem on the iPod

    Hi Guys,
I've made some research about this issue and got to some interesting conclusions.
    DISCLAIMER:
    1. I searched the web and found people describing this problem since 2006 till 2009 and the solution always revolved around not using the "Artist" and the "Album Artist" tags like they should be used.
    2. I did a lot of testing, including re-writing the ID3 tags in different versions and formats to rule out any issues around the tags themselves.
    3. If the stuff I'm going to describe is already well known than sorry about that, I just couldn't find it anywhere.
    PROBLEM:
An album that has a single Album Artist and different Artists appears several times in the iPod Cover Flow although it looks just fine in iTunes.
Tagging the tracks as "Part of a Compilation" only partially solves the issue since the album will appear in the iPod Cover Flow as a Compilation showing up in the end and not together with the "Album Artist" like in iTunes and like it should.
It seems to be a simple issue around the way the iPod uses the "Album Artist" tag but it also seems to be around forever and it's strange Apple hasn't looked into it.
    RESEARCH:
Since I just bought a new iPod Classic, I was again looking into this issue and now I was getting annoyed, strangely the behaviour wasn't the same for all the albums that were suffering from the problem. I found that when the Artist was a combination of, for example:
    Album - AlbumX
    Album Artist - ArtistX
    Track 1 - ArtistX
    Track 2 - ArtistX Feat. X
    Track 3 - ArtistX
    Track 4 - ArtistX Feat. Z
Track 10 - ArtistX Feat. XYZ
In the iPod Cover Flow I got ONLY TWO different albums, one with "ArtistX" and another one with "ArtistX Feat. X".
Well, this was very different from the normal behaviour when the artists are all completely different, in which case you get X amount of albums according to the X amount of different artist names you have.
    CONCLUSION:
It seems to have something to do with the dot ".", I reached the conclusion that for Artist interpretation in the iPod when the Artist tag has a dot "." then it stops interpreting. That means that if you had a "." after the main artist name than it will show only once, like in the above example:
    Album - AlbumX
    Album Artist - ArtistX
Track 1 - ArtistX. <---- NOTICE THE DOT
    Track 2 - ArtistX. Feat. X
    Track 3 - ArtistX.
    Track 4 - ArtistX. Feat. Z
Track 10 - ArtistX. Feat. XYZ
Then in the iPod Cover Flow it will show up only once as AlbumX - ArtistX.
I prefer to use the dots instead of just removing all the "Featurings and similar" since I can still see it normally if I play the track.
So, in the end, a combination like this in your "Artist" tag: "Album Artist"."Artist" would solve the problem in the iPod.
I would love for Apple to solve this issue and I hope this helps.
Has someone else noticed this or am I going crazy?
    Thanks!

sometimes the official title of a release does include the Feat. Guest info.
Yes, but only in some (or many) cases. There seems to be no consistency here, as if Apple were paying no attention about where to put "feat. guest". And I guess most of the data in CDDB (Gracenote) still have "feat. guest" in Artist (correctly, in my opinion).
I quite agree that your workaround is the best workaround. I'm just too self-willed (obstinate?, I don't know the correct English) and don't want to pollute my Library with "wrong" data. Most of the problems would simply be solved if, just if Apple make iPods sort/group artists as iTunes do. Sorry but this is how I feel. I guess you can't help people like me. Thank you for your patience.
Anyway, we need a clear document from Apple describing what are the intended uses of various tags, and iTunes/iPods should obey this document. It seems for me that each Apple engineer is doing just what (s)he wants to do, without any guidelines.

  • Java.io.NotSerializableException in WL6

    All,
I have a servlet calling a user/group manager stateless session bean.
The same code works well in WL5.1.0.
Recently I migrated to WL6 and found there is a serialization problem.
Rebuild the EJB jar with WL6 ejb
compiler did not solve the problem. Here is the detail:
In the remote interface I have a method called assignGroups().
              public interface InfUserGroupManager extends EJBObject {
public void assignGroups(InfIIPSession session, InfDBObjectPK userPk,
              Collection groupIds)
              throws RemoteException, InfInsufficientPrivilegeException;
In a servlet I have code like this:
InfUserGroupManager mgr = ....; // Gets a reference to InfUserGroupManager
              stateless session bean.
HashMap groups = .....; // Both keys and values are java.lang.Integer
              objects.
              Collection assignedGroups = groups.values();
              mgr.assignGroups(iipSession, userPk, assignedGroups);
java.util.HashMap and java.lang.Integer are both serializable. However, when
              trying to invoke the
assignGroups() method on the InfUserGroupManager object will raise
              exception.
