Complete Site Redirect?

Is it possible to do a complete site redirect?
I want to redirect traffic automatically from one domain to another. The company is changing names.
I know I could put a 301 redirect in the page but how do you get all the pages of a website to redirect without individually redirecting them:
www.oldDomainName/events/racing.html
Redirect:
www.newDomainName/events/racing.html
Can't get my head around it.

Ok, think I got my head around it. Create a .htaccess page and put the following in it:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.newDomain.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L]

The site root folder name is not a part of the internal linking structure.
Could you just rename the old local site root folder and delete the old site definition (ste and re-define the site under its new name?

You can also try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

IWeb site redirects to MM mailbox or log-in

I created a site with iWeb, but when I try to visit it, I get redirected to the MM log-in page or, worse, to my open mailbox. I can visit it fine on other computers. This happens with both Safari and Firefox. I've cleared the caches, history, etc. and it still happens. The tech people think this might be a DNS issue but no one has been able to tell me how to fix it. Help!

Please provide your url and your MobileMe username so we can see for ourselves what is happening. Without that it is really impossible to help.

Coding for IE on my completed site

I've completed my site brucebever.com and it's working fine in safari and firefox, not working in IE, and I have no idea about Chrome, Opera, and Netscape.
Now I need to go back through the site and fix all the IE bugs. This is my first website attempt, so maybe I should have been coding for IE during the construction of the site, but learning DW was hard enough without having to learn two or three different coding formats too.
So I guess my question is very general... Could someone take a look at my site and code and tell me my next step? Is there a resource somewhere that will help me with this seemingly monumental task?

In searching out the code to change for IE, I actually resolved my gray-background issue... funny how things are all related. I left you a note over there, but thanks again.
I tried changing that var eB to 'false' in each of my three index files, but it didn't work. Might it be in the param.xml that is exported with the Flash content?
I also see in the css file something called 'allow full screen= true' but there is a full-screen button you can click on in the slideshow, so I thought that particular code may be refering to that feature of the show.
I'd like not to re-export all my slideshows if I can avoid it.

I just found my 1st gen nano and tried to sign in and after signing in it redirects to some page about a charger recall; has the recall ended or is there some type of mistake on the site.

There does not appear to be an expiration date on the programs website - iPod nano Replacement Program.
Call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775 if you are having issues with its sign-in website.

I have Kaspersky anti-virus for mac. The extension Kaspersky URL Advison 8.0.6 causes Firefox to hang when visiting secure websites, especially when the secure site redirects to another site.

Kaspersky URL Advisor 8.0.6 causes Firefox 9.0.1 to hang when visiting secure websites and will not allow a redirect to another site. banking sites, facebook, auctionsniper, all these are affected.

Please also contact Kaspersky Tech support and Forum and let them know the issue, if its really a bug, they will fix it through patch via database update

HT1338 iMac Internet sites redirecting

About a week ago audio advertisements have started playing in the background on my iMac. Also, when I click on a web site, I am frequently redirected to an unrelated and unwanted site! I started getting messages that my flashplayer needs updated, which I tried to do. When I click to update the flashplayer, a messsage of gibberish appears about the windows product I tried to install. My iMac is about a year old and uses OS X Version 10.7.5.

Hold "shift" key down and launch Safari.
Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
Remove website data.
Click Safari in the menu bar, then "Reset Safari"
Uncheck all boxes, then check the box beside "Remove all website data".
Turn off Extensions if any, and launch Safari.
Safari > Preferences > Extensions

IWeb, mobile sites, redirection...

I'm working on this website http://www.davidpaulcarr.com using iWeb.
I have also been playing with making a separate site for mobile devices which can be seen here http://davidpaulcarr.wayma.com .
The idea, ultimately, is to add .3gp "light" versions of the flash content that is on the main website to a mobile one so that visitors using devices unable to use flash can access at least some of the main content (I hope that's clear!).
There are various things I would like to do -
1) Redirect visitors using mobile devices to a separate site adapted to their needs.
2) Not use wayma.com (or a similar service) to make this mobile website - the functions are very limited, the default font is ugly and I can't get it to echo the design of the main website. Ideally, I would build the mobile site myself, using iWeb again.
My questions -
1) How to redirect visitors using mobile devices ? (I posted recently on a similar topic, followed up the leads but didn't get anything that worked).
2) Is it possible to make a mobile site myself in iWeb and host it on my server? I suppose there are optimal page and font sizes, for a start...
Any advice will be gratefully received. Please bear in mind that I have limited html skills, slowly learning what I need as I go along...

I was familiar with that thread and had added the Chris Bailey (modified) code to the appropriate page.
I then - on the basis that my iPod touch would be recognized the same way as an iPhone (which I don't posess) - accessed the page but was not redirected, so I assumed the code wasn't working.
Perhaps accessing from an iPod Touch isn't the same as accessing from an iPhone, I don't know...
Anyway, I think I'm looking for a more global redirection solution that would work for smartphones, Blackberrys, anything with a big enough screen to usefully view my content...
Any ideas about page size and fonts ? (and more generally whether I can use iWeb to cobble together a mobile website)...

In Wordpress, if the "root" of your site is under /blog make sure you have that path in the necessary places in the dashboard. Also, it might take a few reloads before Firefox recognizes the redirection changes. You can use Ctrl+Shift+r to bypass cached files when reloading.

Site redirect to APEX page

Using Oracle express APEXv2.
Not sure if this is specifically related to APEX, I have installed my database on a server (ito.com.au) that currently brings up a default Oracle page and was wondering how to set it so that it redirects to my APEX site.
i.e. When a user enters the url ito.com.au, I want my APEX application to be displayed instead of the default page (Oracle license agreement).

How can I get my complete site for off-line browsing?

I have a site done with iWeb (in my signature), published to .Mac. I need to have a copy of my site, to be burned on a CD and sent to somebody.
Publishing to a folder works fine, but the comments are gone (as well as the counters and passwords, but I can live without those). Syncing the iDisk on the Desktop does the same. Now I try to suck the site with WebGrabber, but I doubt I will have also the comments. Because I compared the source of one page with comments with the source of the same page without commnets, and the sources are identical. Where are those comments stored??
And how can I have a full copy of my site?
Or, if it's not possible, how can I add the comments "by hand"? (I'm not at all good in html...)

The comments are stored somewhere on .Mac... I don't think what you are trying to do is going to be possible or at least not very easy...
I guess you could add them by hand but you would probably make your site look a little screwy by adding that much to the html post-publishing.

Does not load a complete site

When I go to Ancestry.com it does not download all of the site. I know its a firefox issue because I tried the site on Internet Exp and the site came up. I spent two hours on phone yesterday with Tech on Ancestry only to find it is a firefox problem. Let me know soon as possible.

How do I make FF4 stop asking me to ok every time facebook (or any other site) 'redirects' (refreshes, in reality, but it says redirect)?

Every time a page refreshes (particularly facebook), firefox interrupts whatever I'm doing (even if ff is minimized) and makes me 'ok' it! Are there any fixes for this? I've already told ff4 to not warn me when a page attempts to redirect, but it does it anyway.
