Compress doing nothing after I click subment

I have submitted several job to compressor and it doesn't do anything... i just says waiting.. cant anyone help?? never had this to do this before...

My computer suddenly keeps crashing too when I try to compress with FCP. It was working completely fine last week. If you figure anything out, please let me know. I'm going to do an update and see if that helps.

IPhoto Problem - The "Calendar" button does nothing when you click on it...

This problem concerns Apple iPhoto (version 7.1.4) software running on an iMac (with Leopard 10.5.5, 1.8 GHz PPC and 1.25 GB of memory). We can open and run iPhoto with no problems but as soon as we create an album (with 20 to 40 selected photos in it) and we go to click on the "calendar" icon to start to make a calendar project then nothing happens. Clicking on the "calendar" icon / button shows up as if something should happen but the calendar creation window / option box never appears on the screen. I have re-installed the iPhoto program twice. I have done all the O.S. and iPhoto updates and still it will not work. Has anyone else had this happen to them and, if so, have you been able to fix the problem?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Before you do an archive and install create a new test calendar, import a few photo and see if the Calendar button works there. If so then it's your library. To create a new library launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and select the Option to Create Library.
If the new library doesn't work either log into another account, and try there. If the calendar button still doesn't work a reinstall of iPhoto is warranted. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder.
If the calendar button works OK in the other account then your account is the culprit. It could be a preference file other than iPhoto's that causing the problem. To determine of that's the case do the following:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Trying to do a software update, but my macbook pro does nothing after it prompts me to restart

I am trying to do a software update on my Macbook Pro so I can update the new iTunes so I can start using my new iPod. Every time I go through the process of the computer searching for updates and confirming there are software updates, then being prompted to restart my computer, it does nothing. After my Macbook Pro turns on again, nothing pops up and I go into my information and it says I still have the old software. Nothing is prompting me to do the update after I restart my computer, or beforehand for that matter. HELP.

Are you really still running 10.6.2? If Software Update isn't working for you, you may want to try using the 10.6.8 combo update found here -->> http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399.

HT1199 iDVD does nothing after "create movie".

I create a project in iMovie. I click share, then iDVD and it says creating movie. the bar goes across and when it reaches the end the box disappears and just nothing happens. The DVD still says blank if you check.
I tried "finalizing movie" before I went to share, iDVD and still nothing. I put the DVD in before and put the DVD in after the share, iDVD process. Nothing.
When I search applications I get nothing looking for iDVD but perhaps it's just part of iMovie.
I'm getting very frustrated.

The current Apple thinking is that the entire world has access to fast broadband and wants to distribute home movies to friends and relatives via download (iCloud) rather than mailing them a DVD. The fact that in reality not all users do, has so far had no effect on this policy. If you scream and shout loudly enough down the phone Apple may send you a free copy of iDVD. That worked for some, but is now said to have been withdrawn by Apple. Also, you can complain bitterly here, perhaps suggesting that Apple could have provided a choice between using iCloud and burning DVDs:

Whilst Macs with a Superdrive continue to be able to burn video DVDs, the software for so doing, iDVD, is no longer included in the iLife bundle that comes with OS 10.7 Lion (which also omitted iWeb) or will come with OS 10.8 Mountain Lion. And it is no longer included in the iLife 11 from the online Apple Store: http://www.apple.com/ilife/. Your only solution is to look on Amazon or eBay and try to get an older version that includes iDVD.
However, the vastly more expensive FCPX can burn a DVD without iDVD or DVD Studio Pro involvement, but lack the themes etc of iDVD. Also, of course, there is Roxio Toast.

Mac App Store does nothing when I click download on any App

my problem is that when I am in the Mac App Store and click download on any App or on the new OS X Yosemite (which is why I am opening this thread) nothing happens.
The font turns grey indicating that I clicked the button, but after that... nothing. I don't even get an error message telling me what's wrong.
And when I go to another Tab in the Store like from "Updates" to "Highlights" and then back to Updates it shows the button as if I didn't click it in the first place.
Images (english is not my main language):
What I did is search for hours what could be wrong. What I tried was:
- Log Out and start the application again, then log back in
- Try downloading with another Apple-ID
- Start the MacBook in Safe-Mode
- Several restarts of the MB itself
- Repair the rights to the volume (this one is tricky for me to explain: something like the HardDrive Managing Program)
Those are the things I can remember.
Other information that might be useful:
- I have a stable WiFi Connection and no VPN or similar in use
- Except from Google Chrome I didn't install anything as I got the MB a few days ago where it was as if it was used the first time
I hope you can help me as I am really desperate getting this to work.

I am running OX YS X YOSEMITE 10.10.3 with a macbook pro 13" and have this same problem: App store shows there are apps to update. I click update (either just one or all), and they mac shows the update button greyed out, as if i had pressed "UPDATE". For hours on end, nothing happens. NOTHING! I've restarted the mac, which is about as much as i know. Please help me solve this issue, as i'm using Pages and numbers apps and feel like they are stuck in apple limbo/**** without the new update. Hoping to get this resolved soon.

HT1711 I have recently upgraded to IOS 7 and now cannot rate my songs in itunes. I single click on the song and hit the applicable dot under ratings which usually then converted to a star. Now it does nothing when I click on the dot. What's wrong?

Since I upgraded to the latest IOS, I cannot get Itunes to rate my songs. My ratings determine which playlist my songs are entered into. For two days, I've tried to rate the last 4 songs I downloaded but when I click on the songs to bring up the 5 little dots, nothing happens when I click on the applicable dot. Normally I get the stars but not now. Can someone tell me what's going on and what I have to do to make rating a song work? Thank you!

Please also try right-clicking the installer and '''Run as administrator'''. If problems persist you can also try double-clicking and select '''Current user ...''' (as shown in the picture) to install it for a single user (the current user).

Pacman does nothing after CR - solved

Hello,
For some odd reason pacman doesnt do a thing when I hit enter. Normally "root:#pacman" would display help.

hitting enter
nothing.
There is little info for me to tell, since I havent done anything (if any at all) strangely to do the system. Anybody?

ls -l /usr/bin/pacman
yielded the normal output as any other command in the directory (unless it were a symlink)
You might try -v verbose mode.
#pacman -v
P.S., I'm not at my computer right now, so I don't really know if that does anything...
Nope, it didnt do a thing. We knew that already since pacman arg1 arg2 etc yields no prints or any system activity whatsoever after pressing an enter
However, I did manage to overcome the problem.
Copying some configfiles from the cdrom pacman package to /etc didnt work out. I wondered how I could reinstall a package without pacman, since pacman is the main installer. To me I then did the obvious and it is probably not a beautycontest winning resolve, but
tar xzvf pacman.pkg.tar.gz -C /
(and deleting the /.*) helped me out. Perhaps it's usefull to others as well.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with CreatePDF. Are you saying that nothing happens when you click the 'Select Files' button, or that you're unable to click 'Ok' after selecting some files from the dialog box?
What browser are you using to access the CreatePDF service?

Won't Open link from email it gives me the option to open but does nothing when I click that open box. This is a new problem my phone never had trouble with this before.

When I try to open a link from an email it gives me a choice to open but when I choose open it won't! I used to be able to click right on a store or anything and it would open connect to the store. Very strange

It shows just 4 always as an option in the "open with" lsit. Also I haven't downloaded any apps for a while so why would it start now?
Do you know how I can estabilsh how many apps are counting toward this 10 and what they are?

Middle clicking/Ctrl+clicking on links in Firefox doesn't open a new tab; it does nothing. Middle clicking my bookmarks opens them in a new tab, however.

Middle clicking works properly otherwise.
This started happening since I upgraded to Firefox 3.6.22.

Installer does nothing after password

When the installer asks for the password, the password screen just disappears and i can't install anything when my password is required. I've changed my password veryifed and repaired permissions and drive and still nothing my mac book pro 15" has only done this since installing lion.
Any one know how to fix this?

I am fairly new to Encore and trying to work my way through Classroom In A Book. My problem is that I am in the UK and I set Encore to PAL as default when the initial Project screen appeared, but I now need to be able to work with NTSC projects to help in my training.
I know I can start a project (presumably in PAL) but change the default so future projects are in NTSC - but I really would like to get that initial screen back that gives me the choice prior to any new project - but I can't find a way to access it and change my initial setting so it appears every time.
There must be a way - if not in Preferences then at least in the registry. Is it possible to get it back without having to re-install Encore completely? I tried a re-install over the existing Encore but for some reason it wouldn't get past Insert Disk 1 (which I kept doing but the installation wouldn't go past this message).

I found this possible solution on another support thread, so I tried it.
turn off iPod
hold Sleep and Home buttons to start it.
When Apple appears, let go of Sleep button, but keep holding Home button.
When screen goes blank, let go of Home button.
Connect cable and check iTunes to see if it has conencted.
This did not work for me.
I then turned off the iPod, restarted the Mac, and restarted the iPod normally.
I connected them with the cable, and it works like normal. :-)

Unable to sign into icloud. Accepts username & password but does nothing when clicking on arrow.

I am trying to sign into icloud on my pc. It will let me enter my username and password but does nothing when I click the arrow to sign in. Also, I can't select the "keep me signed in" box. When I click on either it does nothing.

I would suggest to restore Apple TV again to factory settings.
