Concatenate variable to filename to generate ERROR_LOG_FILENAME

Hi
I'm working with IKM SQL to Hyperion Planning/Essbase
I'm trying to concatenate a file path variable to a filename in order to generate an ERROR_LOG_FILENAME value.
I've tried a few permutations such as below, but can't get it working.
#FilePathVariable<%=odiRef.getPop("POP_NAME")%>.csv
Can somebody suggest how this can be achieved?
Cheers

I think it doesn't like the concatenation. It works if I put the entire filepath, including the filename, into the variable.
But I would like the file directory path to come from the variable (for portability to other environments) and the filename to correspond to the interface. I don't want to have to create one variable for every interface.
Cheers

  • Automator problem parsing variable as filename in disc image

    Dear apple/automator forum.
    I have just recently started using Automator, and i am experiencing a little problem which im hoping to get a helping hand with.
    First, heres my screenshot (sorry its in danish, ill explain what iwe done): www.bergsorensen.dk/screenshot.png
    - As for text
    - Set new variable
    - Get finder items
    - New disc iamge from finder items (variable as filename)
    I made a service which creates a new disc image of the selected finder items. Now, "in front" of that, i wanted a dialog box, where you could type the name of the new disc image - filename.
    The creating disc image flow works perfectly, though i cant get the dialog box to parse the variable as name to the disc image.
    Any suggestions?
    Best
    Kasper

    You might want to update your forum settings, since your screenshot indicates you are running *Snow Leopard's Automator*.
    The problem seems to be that you are mixing the text from your dialog with the input items - note that any selected items are already passed to the service, so you don't have to use additional actions to get the input. You just need to add a few actions to save and restore the original input when getting your other variable(s):
    1) *Set Value of Variable* { Variable: _Original Input_ } -- save the input items
    2) *Ask for Text* ( *Ignore Input* ) -- get a name for the disk image
    3) *Set Value of Variable* { Variable: _Image Name_ } -- now we can use this variable in other actions
    4 *Get Value of Variable* { Variable: _Original Input_ } ( *Ignore Input* ) -- get the input items back
    5) *New Disk Image* { (drag _Image Name_ variable to the "Volume name" and "Save as" fields) }

  • CVP Call Studio - concatenate variable data

    Hello,
    I'm new to Call Studio, do not have my hands on the software yet.
    Is it possible to concatenate variable data within a call studio script?
    The business wants to capture IVR menu selections for reporting purposes.  The IVR is complex and will require a CVP VXML server application.  My plan is to utilize a call variable within call studio, update the variable with flags/values for each menu selection, then send this data back to ICM.  In ICM, I will analyze this variable and set call types accordingly for reporting.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Got it.
    ok, so in call studio i would do it like this.i would define one variable say session data "retVAL" and update its value based on menu selection.
    if you closely loom at attached screenshot everything is there. value of all 3 menu options are concatenated and assigned to session data called retVAL using substitution  builder.
    and the value of same variable is returned to ICM using CVP sub dialog return.

  • Use of Essbase substitution variables in filename of a MaxL report script

    Hey guys.
    Is there a way that I can embed the value of one or more Essbase substitution variables in the filename of a report script in a MaxL command?
    I'm running a report script that uses sub. vars for entities and accounts and based on which of those members are set in the variables I want the filenames to include those member names. I'm looking for a way to include the &varName in the filename using the export database command.
    THANKS!

    Not really.
    If you want to do a lot of string mangling in a script outside of the report script, you can use DISPLAY VARIABLE:
    MAXL> display variable CurMo;
    application         database            variable            value
    +-------------------+-------------------+-------------------+-------------------
                                             CurMo               MayRegards,

  • Evaluation of ${server_url} variable in filename - known issues? debugging?

    We're using an XML document in the server for properties, such as endpoint assignment:
    <assign name="asn_fromXmlFile">
    <copy>
    <from expression='ora:doc("${server_url}/xmllib/myProcConfig.xml","/airline")'/>
    <to partnerLink="TravelService"/>
    </copy>
    Sometimes when the SOA server is restarted, this does not evaluate the filename "${server_url}/xmllib/myProcConfig.xml" correctly. We get a FOTY error, similar to what we see if we give a bogus filename. The real version of the above code works when the server is up and you send messages. It only fails on certain servers, and only when a
    previously queued message is dequeued at startup.
    Has anyone seen cases where the server_url variable does not evaluate correctly?
    Is there a way to print the value of ${server_url} to the BPEL console audit trail (e.g. an expression to assign it to a string)? Which collaxa class/property do I need to set for DEBUG logging to see anything about this in the domain log?
    Thanks,
    Andy

    I'm happy to report that a good deal of the API App issues in this list will be repaired in the next update of the Web Tools Extensions for VS2013.

  • Concatenate variable and words

    Hi, I need to concatenate a variable with the apostrophe:
    NAME := :CUSTOMER.NAMES;
    When I store some data in the variable codigo, I need to query to the database:
    SELECT * FROM CUSTOMERS WHERE NAME = 'ANGEL', but the 001 must be in some varible so:
    SELECT * FROM CUSTOMERS WHERE NAMES = NAME --> Name is VARCHAR2 y for the Oracle execute the query, i need that NAME be whit the apostrophe. --> ''||NAME||'' --> This concatenate don't operate.
    Thanks.

    Hi Abdellatif,
    Ok, that would clarify things.
    You have an idea if this is documented somewhere?
    Reason we ask:the "xi3-1_designer_en" guide, the specification for the @variable function states:
    "BusinessObjects system variables. ...
    Report variables. ...
    Operating system variables. You can enter Windows environment variables in order to obtain information about your installation.
    Custom variables. With Desktop Intelligence, you can use a predefined text file to provide a list of fixed variable values."
    There's no explicit referal to DeskI only for OS system variables, like there is for custom variables.
    Thanks!

  • How can i append the variable to filename in import statement?

    how can i append variable(substitution variable) to file name in import command for maxL?
    example : For suppose there is a file like "dataload.txt" and a variable like cur_month(august).How can i rename the file like daload_august in import statement.
    Edited by: 788996 on Aug 22, 2010 11:18 PM

    Are you saying you want to use an OS level environment variable in a MaxL statement to substitute for an entire file name? I am going to illustrate Windows, but do it your own way in *nix if you want.
    YourCallingCode.cmd
    REM Note the \\ and then the \\, you had \\ and \
    SET curmon=c:\\ABC\\datafile_21_AUG.txt
    REM Call MaxL with a paramenter
    startMaxL.cmd DoItForTheCurrentMonth.msh %curmon%DoItForTheCurrentMonth.msh
    login blah blah for blah ;
    import database appname.dbname data from local text data_file $curmon using server rules_file "rulefile"
         on error abort ;The trick is to change whatever's in % and % and replace it with a $ in the MaxL script.
    I gave a presentation last year on MaxL at ODTUG Kaleidoscope. If you go to http://www.odtug.com, then Tech Resources, then Essbase, then search on my name, you'll find "Master Essbase with MaxL Automation". More than you could ever want to know about MaxL, variables (parameter, environment, and explicitly declared), scripting, etc., etc., are all there for the taking. If you're not already a member, you'll have to join, but an associate membership is free. You can then download my presentation and all of the others. It is a treasure chest of technical tips and knowledge.
    Yes, I am a fan a member of the Hyperion SIG, so I am ever so slightly biased. Regardless, it is good information, for free.

    If you want to substitute part of the data file name, you can do that too:
    set curmon=21_AUG
    Your MaxL statement would look like:
    import database appname.dbname data from local text data_file "c:\\ABC\\datafile_$curmon.txt" using server rules_file "rulefile"
         on error abort ;

  • Concatenate variable in an array

    Hi,
    I would like that array to be 2 dimensionals.
    $ArrayFichiers= @(("modules\variables.psm1",$PCompletTrousse+"\variables.psm1"))
    At the end, I get actually
    000 "modules\variables.psm1" Thats' correct
    001 $PCompletTrousse   Wrong
    002 "\variables.psm1" Wrong
    I should get
    00 "modules\variables.psm1"
    01 "c:\temp\...\variables.psm1"
    What is wrong?
    Thanks,
    François

    You don't need the plus, just enclose the whole thing in quotes:
    $ArrayFichiers= @(("modules\variables.psm1","$PCompletTrousse\variables.psm1"))
    Or you can use brackets:
    $ArrayFichiers= @("modules\variables.psm1",($PCompletTrousse+"\variables.psm1"))

  • Custom variable of filename, omitting certain characters

    I am interested in creating a custom variable where I can edit the document name.  For example, my document is called "Myfilename_001.indd".  I wish to omit everything except for the "001" because that is the version number of my file, and I want that to be the output.  Is this possible somehow?  Or would I need a script to help do this?  Ideally, it would be nice to do it in a way where only the last three characters of the document, sans extension, are the output (if this makes any sense)
    Thanks in advance
    -Tommy

    Hi Tommy,
    This is currently not possible via the Text Variables in InDesign.
    With scripting you can do it but it won't remain live, i mean it would work for the current name of the document, but if you change the document you might need to run the script again beacuse that way you would be putting plain text in there.
    WIl doing this just once solve your problem?

  • Concatenate variable to file name

    I need to add today's date to zip files when copying them to an archive. I have created a global variable (Tday) that gets the date in the correct text format but have not been able to get File Move to add the MMMddyy to the incomeing file name. What is the exact syntax ODI is looking for? Thanks!

    Here is the solution:
    write a procedure
    in its step on source command: select to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS'),' ') arch_id,'/temp/test/' ftp_src_dir from dual;
    and on the target command:
    SnpsFileMove -FILE=#ftp_src_dir/#GLOBAL.g_ftp_flatfile_nm -TOFILE=#ftp_arch_dir/#GLOBAL.g_ftp_flatfile_nm#arch_id -OVERWRITE=yes
    choose the technology as sunopsisAPI
    and also choose commit.

  • Variables in SBO Query Generator

    Hi Expert,
    I have created a VIEW in SQL and querying this via SBO. I need to use FROM and TO Date inputs from the user.
    When using '[%0]' like I normally do, the query does not run.
    {/code}
    Declare @DateFrom as DateTime
    Declare @DateTo as DateTime
    Set @DateFrom = '[%0]'
    Set @DateTo = '[%1]'
    SELECT EARNER, PRODUCTLINE, Sum(LINETOTAL) AS 'Total', Sum(COMMISSION_PAYABLE) AS 'Total Commission'
    FROM [dbo].[COMMISSION]
    WHERE ([dbo].[COMMISSION].[DocDate] >= @DateFrom
    AND [dbo].[COMMISSION].[DocDate] <= @DateTo)
    Group by EARNER, PRODUCTLINE
    ORDER BY EARNER, PRODUCTLINE
    {/code}

    Using Date values duriectly through Variables is not possible due to the formats.
    So try this.
    Declare @DateFrom as DateTime
    Declare @DateTo as DateTime
    /* SELECT FROM [dbo].[OPCH] T0 WHERE */ SET  @DateFrom = /* T0.DocDate*/ '[%0]'
    /* SELECT FROM [dbo].[OPCH] T0 WHERE */ SET  @DateTo = /* T0.DocDueDate*/ '[%1]'
    SELECT EARNER, PRODUCTLINE, Sum(LINETOTAL) AS 'Total', Sum(COMMISSION_PAYABLE) AS 'Total Commission'
    FROM dbo.COMMISSION
    WHERE (dbo.COMMISSION.DocDate >= @DateFrom
    AND dbo.COMMISSION.DocDate <= @DateTo)
    Group by EARNER, PRODUCTLINE
    ORDER BY EARNER, PRODUCTLINE
    DocDate from OPCH is just an example.  You could use this syntax with any date field from any table.

  • SQL LOADER / INFILE filename as variable in .ctl file

    I stumbled over several threads in the OTN-forums regarding this problem, but neither was it finaly solved nor did I find a FAQ that answered my question. Soooo:
    We get several datafiles from several sources and process them via SQL Loader and store 'em in the DB.
    This is done via a CHRON job and a PERL skript, for all datafiles in a specific directory.
    We need the information which file on which date generated the data INSIDE the DB as well.
    So I want to store the filename || SYSDATE combination as well.
    I know, I could parse the .ctl file and replace a key-string with the actual filename and so have it in the input.
    But this seems a bit dirty to me. Isn't there some way, i.e. a keyword or variable for the infile-filename within the SQLLoader that I can access in the .ctl file? Something like:
    INTO TABLE processed_files
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ';'
    WHEN LOWER(LTRIM(RTRIM(hdr_ftr))) = 'ftr' -- FOOTER??
    (hdr_ftr VARCHAR2(100),
    source INFILE||' on '||TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'MM/DD/YYYY'),
    realm VARCHAR2(100),
    version VARCHAR2(20)
    I would be greatfull if you?d share your wisdom with me. ;-))
    Oliver

    I passed this quite similar to 'Ask Tom' and got the advice to put the .ctl's content as a string variable into a Shell skript.
    This shell skript (which had to be written anyway to loop over the datafiles an subsequently call the sqlldr) should then replace the INFILE parameter and the CONSTANTs for the filenames and generate a 'temporarry' .ctl before calling sqlldr!
    That's it, no better and safer way!
