Concurrent Request Fails

We have application hosted on Oracle Application Server.
When different users perform the similar transactions(i.e. same web page is requested), either application server crash down OR response of 1 of the users request is displayed to both the users.

It might be an Oracle or server settings issue, in which case you should go harass your sysadmin. If you think it's a java code issue, have you tried unit testing or other means of narrowing down the problem code? You'll get better help from people if they can (in the best case) see the problem code.

  • Concurrent requests failing due to Linux CUPS service

    Dear all,
We have a customer running their production instance on e-business suite -11.5.10.1 with Rdbms - 10.2.0.3. It is a single-node, single-tier installation running on Redhat Linux 3 (Update-8)
Whenever, concurrent programs are submitted with Print option, the concurrent requests keep hanging and never complete. At this time, the CUPS service uses 25% of the CPU time. If we restart the CUPS service, all requests complete with warning -
lpr: unable to print file: server-error-service-unavailable
APP-FND-00500: AFPPRN received a return code of failure from routine FDUPRN. An error occurred while AOL tried
    to spawn the print process
Cause: AFPPRN received a return code of failure from the OSD routine FDUPRN. An error occurred while AOL tried to spawn the
    print process.
The only workaround, is to run the concurrent request, without print option. But, this is not an option.
Please suggest a fix for this CUPS issue.
    Thanks

  • Concurrent request output files removed - now concurrent requests failing

    Hi.
I recently removed all *.out files from the concurrent request out directory that were older than 5 days.
I didnt think these were needed, only recorded output from earlier concurrent requests. But now we have a request complaining that
The Applications File Server could not open the file /apps/prod/prodcomn/admin/out/PROD/o16499119.out for read.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Oracle 10.2.0.4

    Dan,
It is expected to get this error as the concurrent request output file is missing. The only way to fix this error is to restore the out files from a recent backup you have taken. Or, ask the user to submit the same concurrent program again and a new out file will be created then.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Best Way to Be Alerted to Failed Concurrent Requests

We are in the process of implementing the full suite of Oracle and I would like to know what is the best way to be alerted to concurrent requests/programs that end in either "Error". Essentially I would like to avoid having to log in each morning and query the Phase for something other than Completed. What is the best way to be more proactive?
I have heard Oracle Alerts or OAM will work, with OAM being the better of the two.
What do people recommend and what is the best practice?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

There are typically two major categories of concurrent requests submitted at any site - ad-hoc requests submitted by individual users and scheduled (batch) requests that run periodically (hourly, daily, weekly etc).
To check for any concurrent errors in the former category, individual users are responsible. For the latter category, it is best practice to use an external job scheduler (such as Appworx) which has the capability to trap errors in concurrent requests and notify needed support groups via email or other means.

I then call this function remotely from our NON-EBS database. It seems to work fine but I found out from metalink article id 466800.1 that this is not recommended.
Why are Concurrent Programs Calling FND_GLOBAL.APPS_INITIALIZE Using DBLinks Failing? [ID 466800.1]
    https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/ui/km/SearchDocDisplay.jspx?_afrLoop=11129815723825&type=DOCUMENT&id=466800.1&displayIndex=1&_afrWindowMode=0&_adf.ctrl-state=17dodl8lyp_108
Can anyone suggest a better approach? Please log a SR and ask Oracle support for any better (alternative) approach. You can mention in the SR that your approach works properly and ask what would be the implications of using it (even though it is not recommended).
    Thanks,

  • Problem in calling concurrent request from oracle forms

    Hi,
I am using the following code to call the above concurrent request to transfer the data from AR interface table to the base table.

    MESSAGE(req_id);
    end if;
The request gets completed with error. The diagnostic shows the following error
"*This request finished with an error and produced the following completion message: Usage: program oracleid request_id Y*
*The processing began on 30-OCT-2009 17:53:13 and ended on 30-OCT-2009 17:53:14. You may find more information on the cause of the error in the request log or the concurrent manager log*."
I have used similar method to execute AP interface import program and it worked. The above request is a spawned request. Any help would be appreciated.

  • ConcurrentModificationException - concurrent requests while lazy loading a relationship without server warmup

    Hello,
We are running into a ConcurrentModificationException when we are firing 100 concurrent requests without warming up the server.
Looks like the error is coming up when a a relationship is  being lazy loaded.
We are seeing this behavior consistently. Once the server is warmed up, we are not seeing any issues under concurrency.
I am attaching the two DAOs that are related to the issue.
ExtensionPointRulesetDAO has a M:1 relationship with RuleSetEntityDAO and we are getting the error when ExtensionPointRuleSetDAO._persistence_get_ruleSetEntity() is called.

Could you suggest me the method to find out the scheduled concurrent request in specific time period. Or How to find out the the scheduled time for a concurrent program.Run the following query:

  • Error when Trying to Run Concurrent Request on ASCP Instance

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue when trying to run custom concurrent program in ASCP production.
    The error message is:

    ORA-20001: APP-FND-02901
You do not have access privilege to any operating unit. Please check if your profile option MO: Security Profile includes any operating unit or the profile option MO: Operating Unit is set has been detected in MO_GLOBAL.INIT
I have searched through metalink regarding this issue and the solution is I should define the "MO: Security Profile" and "MO: Operating Unit" profiles.
But the problem is my ASCP instance is not have any OU, it just defined for Inv Orgs. So, when I tried to define the profile, the LOV is empty.
FYI, in my ASCP dev instance is working fine. I can run my concurrent request into it.
In this instance, the profiles of "MO: Security Profile" and "MO: Operating Unit" are blank too.
    From this node:

We are also facing the same issue in Self Service HR, We also do not have any Operating Unit setup.
We are trying to run seeded "Active Users" concurrent program. Are you sure without setup of MO: Security Profile / MO: Operating Unit, It will work?
    Regards,
    Saurabh
