Custom ID card creator and MS Outlook contact objects

I'm working on a project where flash based photo id badge maker like this one quickidcard.com imports data from Outlook contact object, (name, dept, photo etc.) and using XML creates an employee id badge from a template. My problem is that MS Outlook 2010 doesn't seem to support XML natively so the data has to be parsed. I made it running with PST export and XML parse but it's not scalable and drags when more than 20 contacts have to be imported at a time. CSV and vCard export approach is even slower. It's kind of hard to believe Outlook has no direct XML support while Word and Excel use XML as native. Has anyone faced similar problem or has any recommendations how to bite Outlook from Flash perspective?

correct. I think Outlook exporting objects to PST is the bottleneck. That's why I'm looking for a solution that can hook up to Outlook directly instaed of using export call

How to sync my Address Book and my Outlook contacts?

I am new to Mac. A friend successfully transferred my Outlook contacts into my Address Book but if I make changes in one place (e.g., on Mac in Address Book or on iPhone in Outlook Contacts) they do not show up in the other - even after syncing. Please help. I need simple, basic instructions.

IOS 8.1.3 and Importing Outlook Contacts

I recently updated iTunes and my iPhone 5S. I am unable to import my contacts from Outlook 2010. I had no problems before until the update. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Again, to clarify, I had no problems before the update. Nothing has changed other than the iPhone firmware and the iTunes version.
I don't want to use iCloud. It's just one more security risk for me.

There are some solutions that were thrown and with success. First, the exact problem lies with iTunes v12.1, not v12.0. Apparently, someone downloaded and installed v12.0 and was able to get the sync working. Others had system restore points and was able to go back.
I have tried going down to v11.4 but that will not install on any of my computers. You can download the v11.4 from Apple but it's in 32-bit only. Perhaps that's why it didn't work, I have 64-bit computers. iTunes v12.0 worked for others and I have yet to try this because I'm unable to find a reputable source to trust the installer. Apple does not have v12.0 available on their site, as far as I know of.
Another alternative, besides the iCloud, is to convert all your Outlook contacts to Windows contacts. This is a hassle because you're changing format from Outlook to vCard/CSV to Windows. This is what I did for now and it's not a perfect conversion.

I don't want my iPhone with my Outlook Contacts

I have iTunes instaled in my company computer (windows). In that computer, I have outlook (and the outlook contacts).
Every time I sync my iPhone 5 with iTunes I get all those contacts in my iPhone contacts! And I dont want that!
I tried to unthick the box that says "syncronyze contacts with" but I lost all the contacts in my iphone
then I syncronized again the contacts with windows contacts and got the problem again.
the only solution I see is to delete all contacts that I dont want in the "Windows Contacts" folder but I'm not sure this will work because:
- I don't want to lose those contacts in my Outlook and
- I don't know if that folder will not syncronize with again with outlook and store the contacts again
Do you have any solution to my problem? I'm sure it's simple, but itunes and me are not the best friends

Sorry if I'm not making myself clear, this is confuse, and explaining by email it's even more confuse!
The first time I sync with this computer I got all the contacts from outlook in my phone. I deleted the contacts I didn't want in the phone and it was ok.
The next time I connected to itunes (I don't use itunes a lot...) I had the same problem!
Then, I tried to unthick the box that says "syncronyze contacts with..." and lost them all, so I synced again with Windows Contacts because all the contacts are there (the contacts from my phone, that I want, and the contacts from outlook, that I don't want in my phone)
the thing is, if I delete the contacts I don't want directly in Windows Contacts when I sync I will have no problem...(right?)
but what are the consequences (namely, to outlook) of deleting this contacts?

Item Group is blank on List of Customer Equipment Card

Hi All,
I was at Customer Equipment Card function and go to Find mode and enter * at the Item no, it will have a List of Customer Equipment Card screen pop up. If we select Item Group from form setting and the result is display blank spaces without any data. Anyone got idea to resolve this problem? Thanks.

Adding link to the photo and Name in the outlook contact card -Enterprise wide

How can I make the name and photo in the outlook contact card link to my profile page? I read articles where it is mentoined that the URL is set in Registry, currently my organization does not have any link associated with photo and name in contact card.
I want to implement this across the organization , any deployment or changes that I need to do to implement this across?

So you want to redesign the contact card in Outlook? Are you using SharePoint? If signed into sharepoint via the social connect, there is a link to the mysharepoint page under View source. I don't think you can change the link or customize the card,
beyond what is listed here:

Contact card format incompatibility between Outlook for Mac and Mac contacts

Seems that Mac Office 2011 Outlook contacts no longer directly sync with iPhone, I use a manual process of dragging the vcf file from my Outlook contacts list to a desktop folder and then dragging the contact from that folder to my Mac Contacts file. Even though Mac contacts file accepts the file, sometimes information is missing and the contact data won't go to the icloud and thence post to my iPhone. It's as if the .vcf format from Outlook isn't a match for the .vcf file format that Mac Contacts expects. Many times I have to manually copy the contact data from the outlook contact into a new contact file in Mac Contacts to get that contact to sync across iCloud to my iPhone. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?

What are the differences beyond there?
Do some Outlook entries have some separators in the entry, like : or ; that may be throwing off the fields?

URI dialing changed Outlook contact card

Hello I have provided all the versioning info etc at the bottom of this post.
The issue we are experiences is as follows. Before enabling SIP URI dialing within our Jabber Client the contact details for a User would display the following fields
BusinessPhone = person's AD "telephoneNumber" field and the
Other = persons AD "ipPhone" field
This was accomplished by way of editing the following values in the jabber-config.xml file

could you comment if there is any fix to how jabber itself displays contacts differently after enabling URI dialing. I find the users are confused by seeing a uri form and not selecting it even though it's a valid way to ring an extension. Should be nice to have both the uri and ipPhone listed.

Issue with iCloud and PC Outlook 2007 Contacts

So I finally managed to update to iOS 5, and it's fun playing around and learning the new things, but I already got issues. Minor, but still a nuissance.
Once synced, My Outlook Calendar became duplicated, and with the slide down tab started showing double notifications.
My bigger issue is with how it's syncing with the Contacts. It emptied the Main Contact folder into an iCloud Contact folder; fine. However, the Contact Cards would sync perfectly with the original Outlook Calendar, insterting birthdays and everything. Now, any NEW birthday that I try to add to a new contact, it won't show up on the iCloud calendar, without selecting "show birthdays". I find this redundant since it now makes double birthday reminders when for those already saved from before the iOS upgrade.
Why is this happening? Why can't I just continue using the Outlook Contact cards the same way, and have them load the same way? Why can't I just add them to the iPhone contact slot, and have them show up WITHOUT selecting the birthday calendar?

The major issue after reading 100's of posts is this. iCloud sync creates new contacts and calendars (populated with the Outlook current default contact and calendar info then deletes the folders-check outlook trash to recover). This works if you never use Outlook because Outlook is always using the default folders for lookups, saving, etc. and the data from those folders have been deleted.
- double clicking on an email address never finds anyone b/c its in the icloud contact folder
- accepting a calendar invitation works...but puts it in the default calendar which iCloud never looks at.
- reminders can't be used in the non-default calendar on the PC.
I think...if MS allowed you to select which file your default contacts, calendar were in...independently from your default email pst...Outlook could perform in sync with iCloud. Nutty implementation by Apple though.
I'm restoring everything back to the way it was...in addition now I'm also getting duplicate appointments on the iPhone (home, office).

I tried (I am also on BES) and, when I receive the email on my BB with the attached VCard, if I open the attachment (the VCard) and press , one of the selections is "Add to Contacts". Is that what you are looking for?

I use Plaxo for my contacts, and I want it to synch my Outlook contacts with my PC. I got a new HP PC with the (awful) Windows 8.0 operating system, and, to say the least, I miss the good old days. Plaxo customer support tells me that I can't use my iCloud contact synch because they clash.
My question: How do I disable my iCloud contact synch feature while still allowing the rest of iCloud (music, photos) to operate as usual.
What mysterious steps must I take in order to do this and not cause a complete meltdown in the process? The meltdown that I fear most is the one that happens between my ears.

Music is nothing to do with iCloud but Photostream is, so turn off Mail, Contacts and Calendars (in the iCloud Control Panel) and leave everything else on.
You will lose iCloud Calendars and Mail as well as Contacts, but you can manually re-enable mail (if you use iCloud email)

No Contacts Synced - Using Centro and XP and no Outlook

I usually sync on my Vista laptop, but it is unavailable to me for a couple weeks. I want to install the new Centro update which requires a Hard Reset, so I downloaded Palm Desktop for my XP desktop system and have been attempting to sync for two days now. I have yet to get one 'address' or contact to sync. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing. I have set it up to have Palm Desktop to be the default manager for contacts as I do not have Outlook running on this machine.
The palm troubleshooting guide says you can check or change your conduits by right clicking the tray icon and chosing 'custom' etc. but when I right click I only have 'Settings', 'install' and 'Exit', none of which have access to the conduit settings.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Alan. I will try the DBfixIt soon. For the record, I gave up with HotSync and read that NVbackup worked fine for the Centro Update. I ran the update and did a Restore in NVbackup and everything was fine.
As far as why contacts are not being backed up- I looked around at some files with FileZ and found many of them that seem to me they should be backed up did not have the Backup bit set. In fact many of the files did not have any attributes set, all just blanks. Is there a list of which files should be backed up and which attributes should be set for them. For my own knowledge, if the Backup bit is set does that mean a HotSync will back it up and does that bit stay set or is toggled on and off as backups or changes to the files are made (like the archive bit in windows)? If the files did in fact erroneously have their Backup bit turned off, how did that happen. I have never fooled with that with FileZ so it wasn't me? I do use VersaMail with Exchange OWA webmail settings to connect. This didn't have any effect in the past AFAIK.
Lastly, I did try turning on the Backup bit for the DB file AddressesDB (or something like that) and did a HotSync and no new contacts were synced. Is there other specific files I should turn on Backup for or should I turn it on for all DB files or may all files in the whole list? This should really all be explained somewhere. All I can find is vague references from people's experiences in the forums. I would prefer a wireless network sync solution so if someone could recommend one that would be great as I rarely Sync my phone to my computer anyway and most software is available nowadays directly to the phone.

Merging Sim card contact list from old phone with Outlook contact list

iPhone synched with Outlook Contacts during iTunes activation, subsequently transferred old phone contact list from SIM card to iPhone. I want to merge the two files, but synching operation tells me that transferred items will replace existing Outlook Contact list. Not what I want - - How can I merge the two files?

I don't use Windows but the following states that it will sync contacts with Outlook on Windows 8 via iCloud. You will need to go to Settings > iCloud on the phone at turn Contacts on and also download the iCoud control panel to your computer as described in http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html
