Concurrent user selecting on same object

Hi, the issue are like this, there is few patient in table. Nurse as user will select the patient and serve them, the question is, IF the 1st user select on patient A, 2nd user must be prompt that 1st user are selecting the patient A
What im did is declare 1 vector, storing on the ID and user IPaddress (request.getRemoteAddr()), mean that when 1st user select on patient A, vector will store on (patientA ID and 1st user IP), so when 2nd user click on patient A, system will do checking base on the vector. If 1st user click on patient B, vector that storing (patientA ID and 1st user IP) will be release.
Things run fine for the first few testing, BUT, if the user have close the application or click on another page, the patient A will forever save in the vector. And others ppl will not selecting on it anymore
How should i solve it?
1) anyone can let me know is there any command to check user IP address are connecting to system?
2) is there any command can overtake my issue?

Yeah, everyone login have its own unique ID, but the problem is when userA select patientA, it will save in a vector ID + patientA
How if the userA close the browser or go to another page, PatientA will forever stack with userA. Because patientA onli will be release when userA select on the others patient

However, it is not permitted to use in Production at all. But sometimes, only in critical situations, for eg. we have only a few basis IDs and some maintenance task is to be carried out involving more resources, multiple gui login can be utilized in sandbox to for that ID.
But, it is for sure that, USMM report will be sent to SAP for the sandbox too. So client is subjectable. If you, as a basis guy, are going to try it, then please do it only after the confirmation from the client and only if client needs it.

Getting User Selection of 3D-Object

Is there any possibility to get a reference to the Object(s) or Mesh(es) a user has selected in the 3D-scene?
I don't want wo work with the MouseHit-Function, since there is this much more sophisticated selection already implemented. I just can't get to finding its reference...?

I'm not sure I understand your question as I am rather green to 3D, but I'll take a shot... Have you tried using the Model Tree to do your part selection. In the 3D annotation's toolbar, click on the "Toggle Model Tree" button. You'll see a window open on the left side of the viewer. If you go into the top pane, the Structure pane, you can select individual parts. You can then look at the bottom pane, the Data pane, and read the number of Faces and Vertices. I hope this helps and that I'm not way off the mark where your question is concerned.

Concurrent users sessions from same machine issue

We have 10.1.2 OIM environment and SSO. We are running reports from Oracle portal.
The issue is that when I have multiple users sign on on same machnie and running user id specific reports - all users see report from last login users.
Each user has owne IE or Firefox browser window.
It looks that cookie that contains SSO authenticated information is shared between multiple browser sessions. How can we control cookie to work only within one browser not for the other web browser sessions.
The same issue exists even when we go SSO - Portal - Forms - Reports.

If I open two different browsers (e.g. Firefox and IE) those browsers don't know about each other. No session sharing happens automatically.
Theoretically you could use the user's IP address for session tracking. But that will fail miserably for users who come from the same IP address, e.g. through a NAT firewall.
I don't think you can fill that requirementreliably & without breaking something.

Concurrent Users for Query BEx

Hi BW Experts,
my concerns are related to the simultaneous access to a query BEx.
On a total amount of 3000 users I have 300 concurrent users, launching the same query in the same time.
Two are my issues:
1 - how can I test the simultaneous launch of the query without involving 300 persons?
2 - I think the performance of such a test will be not acceptable: what are the levers/parameters BW system gives me to increase these kind of performance?

To have 300 users start the same query at the exact same time is certainly unusual. Don't have any good suggestions on the "Hoe to test" question. This is a difficult question to answer with a short answer. You have many performance options/considerations:
Are the users running the exact same query with all the same input parameters? Pre-calculated web templates might be of value, this would cache precalculated web pages, or consider scheduling the query and then distributing the results via e-mail using Information Broadcaster.
If the result set is not unusually large, you may be able to schedule a run of the query and store the results in the OLAP cache, that way the Database does not need to be accessed - the users will get their results from the OLAP Cache (Server memory) which is very fast.
This doesn't even begin to consider the hardware and landscape in place, e.g. are there multiple App servers?
Depending on the approach, your bottleneck could be the DB server, it could be the App Server(s), or specific components of the App server. A lot depends also on how much you mean that the users run it at the same time - all 300 at exactly the same time, within a 15 minute time period, an hour?
A web query is probably a better approach than the BEx Analyzer (Excel)in this situation as it gnerates considerably less network traffic.

Thank you Joe - I tried this but it's only showing a teensy amount of music - the stuff on the second users account as opposed to the giagntic library on the 'main' account. I actually went to a Genius Bar and they said that apple doesn't really want you to share music between accounts - parents don't want to hear their kids music etc. Which seemed strange, but it might be the case sadly Thanks anyway!

Dynamic dropdown based on user selection of another dropdown on the same page

hi all, ok, I have a table which contains use data, a name,
and a userID. for the example lets say "Simon Bullen" and my userID
is "999".
on a form I have, there is a dropdown box, which is dynamic
from this table, and allows me to select Simon Bullen, however, I
have a hidden field on the form, which when the user selects "simon
bullen" the hidden field populates with the appropiate U number
from the same table.... no i thought this would do it:

You could make the value of the option the UserID and the
option display the name.
If that isn't what you need, I think you'll need some
javascript to populate your hidden field based on what is chosen in
the select.
I think you can modify this:

If there's a way to do that without JS I'm not aware of it.
A third possibility: look up the UserID (based on the name
chosen) after the form is submitted then do with it whatever you

JS-Referring to user selected objects

I am trying to create a script for CS4 where I can manually select some, not all, images and have the script move them to a layer and/or apply a preset ID shadow. My question is. . . How do I write script to refer to the objects I have manually selected in my ID document? I'm new to scripting and just starting to get the hang of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to bind a user selected value to a view object bind variable?

I have two pages in ADF BC application. In the first page ,i will give a drop down menu to user which displays all the table names in my databse.
when the user selects a table and goes to the second page..he should be given a menu or a check list of all the columns in the user selected table....
to display the columns i have used the query
Select COLUMN_NAME from user_tab_columns where table_name = : table_name in the view object.
now how to bind the user selected table value in the first page to the table_name bind variable in view object ?

Hi,
depends on how the select box is implemented. With ADF and ADF Faces, the default value selection is the list index. In a value change listener you could look up the selected value from the underlying iterator. Store this value e.g. in a session attribute and point the NDValue of the ExecuteWithParams operation to #{sessionScope.your_attribute}

ISE limitation for concurrent user (same user)

I have cisco ISE 3355 version 2.0.4.018 my question is how can I limit the authenticated user to access only two devices by his username and password.
where I have cisco ISE integrated with AD for internal employee that access internal SSID and I need to limit employee access for two devices only (PC and Phone)
So anyone can help me??

The current ISE release 1.1 doesn't have a feature that allows to limit of concurrent user sessions (either Guests or regular 802.1x users) as the ACS 5.3/5.4 does. However, I guess this feature is scheduled for release, ISE 1.2

How to update records in a table based on user selection..

This time the above doubt is totally based on the logic of coding which I tried a lot but didn't get any solution. so atlast I come to sdn site.

The requirement is like that I have a table with 6 fields (1 primary key and other are nonkeys). If the user inputs some values in the fields on the screen, then a row will be added in the table. Upto this i have done well. but when the user want to change some value in the existing row of the table my program unable to do so. Because I couldn't get any logic to do that as there are 5 nonkey fields, so if any one field is modified then the respective row should be selected first based on the user selection and then it should be updated.
At this point I could not get any idea as it may take a lots of if conditions (I guess) to reach to that particular row.

I am afraid, the whole design of your program is wrong, let me explain
Let us say you have two rows(5 non key fields) that the user wants to update and the data in these five non key fields are identical and in your program you are getting a number(which is the key) using a number range object. So you will have two entries in the table for the same data.
And on the update page when the user enters the non key fields, how will the program know(or for that matter any one of us) which record to pick, if you have two identical books and if asked for a book wouldn't you ask which one among these two do you want?
Possible Solution: Identify a possible key maintaining the integrity of the data, that is a combination of the non key fields which will help you identify a unique row and make these fields as key fields in the table.
A more costly solution(if you do not want to change the non key field keys to key fields) would be to, adding a check(using select statement) to see if the non key fields combination already exists in the Z table before inserting a record into the table.
If yes, throw a message to the user and just update the values in the table, else insert the record.
Another solution would be to, use the non key fields to generate a key(using some logic) and using this instead of the number range object.

Error with concurrent users- Activation Passivation Bind variable ?

I have a programmatic view object based on procedure call that returns a ref cursor.
Application Module has a function that exposes get Method for this View object using client interface.
Everything works good until many users call the same Method ,for many concurrent users i got the below error intermittently :
JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation.
Attempt to set a parameter name that does not occur in the SQL: bussId
For 1 or 2 users this works perfectly fine.
bussId is a bind variable defined at View object of type Array.
I understand this should be because of activation/passivation as many users calling same function comes to picture.
To solve this I overloaded activateState/passivateState in View implementation for the bind var.
But i don't see those methods getting invoked ever.
I also enabled connection pool/AM pool and kept the default pool values high enough for concurrent users.
Nothing works .

Display Different reports depending on values in a User Selectable Dropdown

I want to create a report which has a Drop-down and depending on the value selected from the drop-down, i want to display different reports.
Say, a drop-down has 3 values, v1, v2 and v3. Now, if a user selects v1, he/she should see report r1. If v2 is selected, the user should see report r2. if v3 is selected from the drop-down, then report r3 should be visible. All the 3 reports have different structures (even different no. of columns). Also, v1, v2 and v3 are 3 different values belonging to a same picklist type field.
Do you think this is possible? If yes, How ?

The only way i could see this working would be to create a picklist on a object and then create your three reports placing them within the same folder and name the report something under 30 charters then place the same name in the picklist value and create a weblink to the report which at selection of the report will run either report.

SAP Web services performance tuning in terms of concurrent users?

we in our organisation are planning to build a web portal which can connect to our sap environment and perform various tasks.
Hence to find out the performance capabilities we exposed some web services from SAP end and did a load test on the same.
The test results were not promising, with only 25 concurrent users the response time was as high as 12 seconds.
Now we need to fine tune the SAP web service module to get the max performance.
Can anybody point us in the right direction?

User defined libary for objects

Hi,
We use Acrobat Designer 7.0 to build our documents.
I just tried to set up a shared objects library on our network, so
everyone uses the same objects to design a document.
Why does the library not show the objects I dropped there?
In the german version you can define a place for this library on the
network but a xml-file is needed. I tried to edit the local library xml-file an copied it in the directory but
the library register does not show the objects that I drop there.
I hope someone can help because the german support is a disaster!

Thank you for your suggestions so far, the variant which is changing is the layout of the report, the users can select different options on the selection screen e.g. co code etc. but wants the layout to be defaulted as always the same when the report is run and the variant for the layout of the report is selected because the users has created an own defined layout.
WE have already simulated the problem by copying the user and their profile in our sandbox and saving a layout ourselves but so far have been unable to re - create the isue where the columns in the report layout are changed even though the user as not changed their own user defined layout. Any more suggestions would be welcome
