Conditional blank space

Hello All,
I am working on the check printing and i need to create a blank space at the top of the page ,if there are multiple pages. Please let me know, how to achieve this.

Blank space between Detail section and Page Footer - How to remove it ?

below is the problem.
We make report as followspage header Section details
Employee Information
Report Footer
Page Footer
Other Information
whenever we run this crystal report it leaves space in between after employee information (Detail Section) and before Page Footer.We don't know its a problem of footer or any other else.
When i preview and print out the reports
it showing Detail section 10 Rows (which satisfying condition) and then Blank space and then at the bottom of page shows Page Footer (which contain 2 subreports).
Let me know if you need aditional information on this.
pls provide suggestions.

Try with this
1. Suppress any unused sections in both sureports and in the mainreport.
2. Check all the fields fits the sections. Select all the fields in the section and give align top and make all the fields of same height and make it fit to the section.

Blank Space problem in Adobe Form

Hello Gurus,
In my Adobe form, One field has to be displayed based on a condition. So, for that field, in Context tab, condition is specified and its working also i.e. It condition is true then data is not displayed in the layout but I find the blank space for it. I dont want that blank space to be displayed.
Example:
In layout, address is in format as shown below.
Name
Street
City
Region
Postal code
Country
Here, I have a condition that, Region field should not be displayed only for Material eq '123' i.e. same address has to be printed as shown below.
Name
Street
City
Postal code
Country
But, If I give condition then address is shown as below.
Name
Street
City
>Here, am getting empty space & I dont need this blank space to there in the layout.
Postal code
Country
So, Can anyone please help me for this.

1. Remove the Condition from you Context tab.
2. In the Driver Program check for the condition and fill the value in the internal table which is passed to
the adobe form.
3. Make the subform (under which the field is added in the hierarchy view) as flowed.
4. In the script editor, Select the 'javascript' and write the script to hide the form field specifying the condition here.
for e.g
if (xfa.form.FORM.SUB_FORM.matnr == "123") {
xfa.form.FORM.SUB_FORM.Region = "hidden";
NOTE: Javascript is Case sensitive and stops working immediately after the line of code where an error occurs.

Pass parameter with blank space for report ver 6

Hi,
I face a problem that i willing to pass the acno where it's value with blank space, for example ' 9' as parameter into my report, and assign it as v_acno. Inside the report query i add a where condition, acno >= :v_acno. When i run the report and pass acno without ' , it do not show any record. But when i run the report and pass acno with ' then able to show the records.
for example the value i key in
with ' = ' 9'
without ' = 9
So how i can solve it by pass the acno without ' but the record still able to show?

It occurs because an argument of the DTExec commands must be enclosed in quotation marks if it contains a space. From the dtexe (SSIS Tool): Syntax Rules section of the
dtexec Utility (SSIS Tool) document, we can see:
All options must start with a slash (/) or a minus sign (-). The options that are shown here start with a slash (/), but the minus sign (-) can be substituted.
An argument must be enclosed in quotation marks if it contains a space. If the argument is not enclosed in quotation marks, the argument cannot contain white space.
Doubled quotation marks within quoted strings represent escaped single quotation marks.
Options and arguments are not case-sensitive, except for passwords.
So, you need to make the value of the variable @QUERY_STRING within double quotes in the value of the variable @Cmd or remove the space within the @QUERY_STRING value.

Extra blank space problem in af:selectOneChoice

Hi All,
I m using <af:selectOneChoice> to display few items in combo box. Now the problem is when the page gets load 1st time, its show an extra blank space in item list, but after selecting any item from the list page gets refreshed and reload again, now it does not have any extra blank space in the list.
How do I remove this blank space from the combo box ???

Message Mapping using Left justified, right blank/space filled

My Interface is outbound Interface.
Suppose source field named 'Filename' is mapped with Target field named 'Filename'.Condition is AS IS(Left justified, right blank/space filled).
How should i do this mapping?

Please reset the value of the variable "fieldLength", in code above to the field length as per your need. The right side will be filled with extra spaces since value of "filler" variable is ' '. you can set this to any character of your choice so that total field length is equal to value of variable "fieldLength" (which is 20 here).
so if input is "        hi"
output           "hi                  "

Removing Blank Spaces caused by Supressed data

How we can remove the balank spaces caused by supressed data in crystal reports.for eg

               For Time Info

if there is txt added against pen as for Timer(For Time Info)
it will leave blank space.How to remove blank space.

I have tried replicating your requirement at my end using Xtreme Sample database below are the steps which I have followed.
1)I have customer Id field,Customer name field field placed in details section.
2)Click on Section Expert
3)Click on Details.
4)Check the second option as "Suppress(No Drill Down)".In front of that there is one icon as "X-2".Double click on that icon.
5) Type the below formula
     if {Customer.Customer ID}=157 and {Customer.Customer Name} ="Aruba
     Sport" then true
    else if {Customer.Customer ID}=148 and {Customer.Customer Name}
     ="Koala Road Bikes" then true
     else false
6)Save and close.
With this formula where condition matches the specific criteria it will suppress the section and there will be no blank spaces.The rest of the data will be shown.

Replace blank space

Hi guys,
ho wcan we replace blank space in obiee.
i have applied if null function to replace with 0 but it is not workin .it may be a blank space so can we replace blankspace in obiee.

We cannot replace null values from report.
Another Solution:
Go to column properties --> Conditional formating--->write the condition (IS NULL) --> Apply strikethough option in properties

Supress Blank spaces

i want to suppress the Blank spaces is there any option I have tried in query properties by supressing zeros but i cant find the solution.

I want to show the report only G/L account 100000 and amount is 10 i dont need the remaining

Are you sure you don't have any more collumns? Because with only those two columns supressing the zeros in query definition (applied both to rows and columns) should do the trick.
Nevertheless you could create a new formula that is Amount different than zero, returning zero if false, and 1 if true.
Hide that formula, and create a condition to display only values where that formula is 1.

In the invoice programe, we are showing the free issue qty.
free issue qty is assign to the val1.
if val1 = 0
i need to print blank value in the smartform .
so i need to assign blank space to the val1 (type numc).
for the blank purpose i m using below code.
currently val1 type string.
CONCATENATE '' '' INTO val1 RESPECTING BLANKS.

Hi,
There are 2 ways viz:
1. Define another variable val2 with type char. Put a check if val1 = 0 then pass the value of val1 into val2.
2. In smartforms I hope you are displaying free issue qty by a text element. Double click on the text element. Go to 'Conditions' tab and put a check If val1 NE 0 or val1 NE INITIAL.
This means free issue qty will be displayed as a blank space if val1 having 0 value and free issue qty will have some value if val1 is not equal to 0.
If you are using smartforms you can go for option 2. Hope this clarifies.

I have a VARCHAR2 type rtesta's var of length x(100 char)
how i can fill(write) it without create a other varchar2 var that it'll be only filled with blanks(spaces). e.g
rtesta := ' PC'||fil1||'xxx||fill2....
where fil1 = say 10 spaces.. fill2 = 63 spaces and so on
I would like something as
rtesta := ' PC'|| RPAD(null,10)||'xxx||RPAD(null,63) ...
but.... Oracle treats an empty string as null. And nulls are always a bit special within Oracle. Particularly, rpad('', n) and lpad('', n) returns null.
Exists a built in for my problem?

How to use blank space replace NULL on discoverer viewer

Hi,
There is a report that has a varchar field should show text values, and if NULL, I need it show blank space, and does in disco desktop, but on viewer, the same worksheet shows NULL.
Even I changed in the Tools - Options - Format menu(desktop), it still show NULL on viewer.
why?

Hi Sammy,
Unfortunately ‘some’ of the settings set in Desktop do not carry over to Viewer. These options need to be defined for Viewer itself.
A temporary way to set the Viewer settings is to click on ‘Options’ when logged in Viewer itself. You’ll have to open a responsibility or report before this option becomes available to select. Within here you’ll be able to change the way NULL values are seen. However this method only makes the change for the User you logged in with.
To make the change for all users, it’s best to edit the PREF.TXT file on the Discoverer Server. Please view the documentation below for more information on how to configure Viewer. For windows platform click here : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/A90287_01/toc.htm,
For Unix platform click here : http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/html/A90288_01/toc.htm. Once you’ve run the applypreference script, these settings will be forced down to all users of Discoverer.

I recently deleted a partition on my mac that was intended to install windows. Now it is just blank space. I attempt to resize my Macintosh HD partition to cover entire hard drive space and hit apply but nothing happens (disk utility). Any ideas?

I have a few problems...
I wanted to make a partition to install windows, I tried to use bootcamp 5 where it wanted to partition and install windows at the same time. I do not have a cd of windows but instead had it on a flash drive. Bootcamp couldn't find it. Instead I was reading forums and found that there was another way to install windows by partioning your harddrive using the disk utility, downloading the bootcamp drivers, and installing rEFIt (an app that when starting the compouter a menu would come up to boot windows from the flashdrive). I try that and the windows install screen gets me to the point where I pick a partition. I attempt to pick the partitioned drive but a message comes up telling me that "this is of the GPT partition style" and windows cannot be installed on the drive.
So now I went back to disk utility and deleted the partition but there is still blank space. I wanted to retry and install windows through bootcamp (somehow) but a message comes up that there cannot be any partitions or that a partition must be created using bootcamp. SO i keep trying to drag the partition over the blank space and hit apply but nothing happens.
By the way I was trying to install windows 8 pro, some forums would say that you cant install win8 however I found others that said you could. How do I fix my partition and how do I use bootcamp to install windows (preferrably 8)?

Csound1 What Ive been trying to explain is that I have been running bootcamp, I open the app where the first screen is the introduction, i hit continue, the first time I select "download the latest windows support software fromm Apple" then I return and instead select "Install Windows 7." Then hit continue. The third screen is where I "Create a Partition for Windows" I set Windows to 80 gigs then hit INSTALL. As stated before Bootcamp cannot find the install drivers saying "The installer disc could not be found." My windows software is on a USB drive not a disc, I tried using a virtual disc reader to make it appear that the windows software was running on a disc, still no luck. What I would like to know is how to install windows on bootcamp.

Blank spaces in alv report

i have a requirement that i need to develop a report which is same as t-code cs11,
but in cs11 we are getting the report for a single material and its bom components .
in my require ment i need to develop a report for range of materials, i almost did that but the problem i am facing
is how to obtain a blank space in alv report, after completion of single material and its components r displayed.

How to remove the extra or blank space from RTF Template

Hi All,
Try to remove the extra space from xml template.
Here I have attached the .xml file with .rdf, here the issue is when you load the data we will get 2 page output but when I am trying to add any column or extra space in the last page of this template the output getting 4 pages with lot of blank space. Could you please guide me to solve this issue.
Could you please let me know how to do the attachement in this forum as I am new to this community.
