    i've tried to uninstall JRockit 1.6.0_24-R28 using the -mode=silent in a command window and it keeps prompting me with a window saying "Do you want to uninstall Oracle JRockit JDK R28.1.3 for Java SE 6 with JRMC 4.0.1 installed at D:\Oracle\Java\jrockit-jdk1.6.0_24-R28.1.3?" OK and Cancel are my options.
    Since I am trying to do this in a batch file, having a window appear is not going to work. I've also tried to echo Y | uninstall.exe-mode=silent but this also does not work.
    My only other option is to manual delete the files and registry entries.
    Any suggestions? Is there a list of what registry items I ned to delete?

    The easiest way to create a response file is by starting the wizard, filing in the blanks on all pages and save the result before the wizard asks you to install. Just stop here.

  • Difference between config in administration mode and expert mode

    Hi,
    We can make changes to FPM-based component configuration via administration mode (SE80, menu bar Web Dynpro Configuration > test > Execute in Administration Mode) or expert mode (user parameter FPM_CONFIG_EXPERT = X), to, for example, add a new tab (main view) to a sap standard application (after enhancing the sap std component config).
    I understand that in expert mode any changes are regarded by the system as modifications (as opposed to customisation with administration mode) and hence these modifications could be overwritten by future support pack application.  Correct?
    Is there any advantage to using expert mode over administration mode, given that expert mode config could be overwritten?
    Thanks in advance,
    JP.

    Hey Baskaran,
    Thanks for your reply and further info, I appreciate the dialog between us on this, it helps me and I hope it helps others, as I know from personal experience today that some SAP developers themselves are not clear on the diffrerence.
    With regard to your comment "In both ways the modifications are not lost or overwritten" I quote from the fuller explanation on "Fitting Webdynpro..." I posted earlier in this thread, with the excerpt "Changes made in expert mode are modifications that are overwritten when a new release or enhancement package is imported. Expert mode allows configuration for an application to be launched from that application." of particular interest:
    "The concrete layout of a Web Dynpro application is determined by the application configuration and the configurations of the embedded Web Dynpro components. These configurations can be adjusted or changed at any time. Floorplan Manager uses the concepts for changing Web Dynpro applications that have been prepared by Web Dynpro ABAP:
    Changes to the Web Dynpro built-in and component-defined configurations are stored in administrator mode as delta information in the Customizing layer of Web Dynpro ABAP. Changes in administrator mode are modification-free changes. This is because when a new release or enhancement package is imported, only the Web Dynpro development layer is affected.
    In expert mode, changes to the component-defined configurations are stored directly in the Web Dynpro ABAP development layer. Changes made in expert mode are modifications that are overwritten when a new release or enhancement package is imported. Expert mode allows configuration for an application to be launched from that application.
    The configuration editor for Floorplan Manager is available to you for making changes. This editor can be launched in the Web Dynpro Explorer or from the runtime of the application. For more information, see Calling Up a the Configuration Editor."

  • Iphone stuck on vibrate mode (Silent ring)

    please help

    If it is unlocked, the there is no way of us knowing whether the problem you are experiencing is due to the unlocking process, or to a normal hardware fault. Unfortunately, by unlocking it, you have voided the warranty and cannot therefore return it to the Apple store for support or replacement. I'm really sorry, but I can't see how we can help you anymore, and this thread is likely to be locked by the mods soon, as I see that they are (over)active this morning, so no more replies will be possible after that. I would try using one of the other iPhone forums where they can discuss unlocked phones, and see if they can help you more.
    Good luck with it.

  • Config in silent mode is failing

    Hi,
    I'm not quite sure which list to post this on so apologies if you've already come across it on the JMS list.
    I'm working with Weblogic 8.1.2 on windows.
    I need to create a number of JMS Queues so instead of doing it manually it appears that I should be able to do it using by creating a text file that I pass to config.cmd running in silent mode. However, whenever I run the script it indicates that it's succesfully creating all my queues but it always fails with the message:
    fail: write Domain to "C:\ProgramFiles\bea\user_projects\domains\testdomain"Script execution aborted. The script may contain an error.
    The text file looks something like:
    read template from
    "C:\ProgramFiles\bea\weblogic81/common/templates/domains/wls.jar";
    find Server "myserver" as s1;
    create JMSServer "FINEOSJMSServer" as jmsserver;
    //target "FINEOSJMSServer" to server "myserver"
    assign JMSServer "FINEOSJMSServer" to target "myserver";
    create JMSQueue "sampleRequest1" as a;
    set a.JNDIName "jms/sampleRequest1";
    set a.JMSServer "FINEOSJMSServer";
    create JMSQueue "sampleReplyQueue1" as b;
    set b.JNDIName "jms/sampleReplyQueue1";
    set b.JMSServer "FINEOSJMSServer";
    set OverwriteDomain "true";
    write domain to "C:\ProgramFiles\bea\user_projects\domains\testdomain"
    close template;
    I've done a number of web and newgroup searches but I can't find anything telling me what I'm doing wrong. Can some please tell me?
    Thanks,
    aoife

    write domain to "C:\ProgramFiles\bea\user_projects\domains\testdomain"You have to terminate the above line with a semi colon.

  • How to configure and deploy OAM 11g with DB setup using silent mode

    Hello all,
    I am trying to create automation process to install and configure OAM 11g on WLS. This task involves three stages
    1. Install WLS
    2. Install OAM 11g
    3. Create DB schema using RCU
    4. Configure and deploy OAM 11g
    I have done first 3 stages in silent mode using scripts and response files. I am stuck at 4th stage. I know how to configure and deploy OAM 11g using config.sh via GUI installer as well as console mode. But I would like to run config.sh in silent mode something like
    ./config.sh -mode=silent -silent_script=<script_location>
    I have searched a lot, but could not find any resource on how to do it? I tried passing the parameters via a text file. But that has not worked. I have also explored WLST, but it also does not work. Given that first 3 things are relatively very simple, the 4th step is becoming complex. I would be very thankful if someone can please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks!

    Have a look at your software directory : <sofware directory>/Disk1/stage/Response
    Here you will find 2 rsp files which you can use to install and then configure it all.
    Good luck.

  • Pagp and silent mode

    Hello,
    I am confused with the "silent" mode when used with PAGP "auto" and "desirable" modes.
    "CCNP BCMSN exam certification guide" book, says that "silent" is used when peer is not capable of sending Pagp frames (does not participate in pagp), so that an etherchannel is built in our side anyway.
    But everywhere(cisco's site,book), is reffered that if one peer is in "auto" mode and other in "on" mode OR one peer is in "desirable" and other in "on" mode, a channel is not formed.
    Since the default submode for both - "desirable" and "auto" - is "silent"( meaning that our side does not expect any pagp frames) why a channel can not been established?
    Thanks.

    Hello Bob Grante,
    I agree with you that the documentation is very confusing and vague about PaGP negotiation.
    From what I understand an EtherChannel will form only if one side is configured to be non-silent. I cannot confirm this because I do not have access to a etherchannel capable switch at this time.
    I quote the 3550 Software Configuration Guide 12.2(25)SE.
    "Silent Mode" (Page 31-5)
    "The silent mode is used when the switch is connected to a device that is not PAgP-capable and seldom,
    if ever, sends packets. An example of a silent partner is a file server or a packet analyzer that is not
    generating traffic. In this case, running PAgP on a physical port connected to a silent partner prevents
    that switch port from ever becoming operational; however, the silent setting allows PAgP to operate, to
    attach the interface to a channel group, and to use the interface for transmission."
    The configuration examples te
    "Configuring EtherChannels (Page 31-10)
    "non-silent -- If your switch is connected to a partner that is
    PAgP-capable, you can configure the switch interface for
    nonsilent operation. You can configure an interface with the
    non-silent keyword for use with the auto or desirable mode.
    If you do not specify non-silent with the auto or desirable
    mode, silent is assumed. The silent setting is for connections
    to file servers or packet analyzers. This setting allows PAgP
    to operate, to attach the interface to a channel group, and to
    use the interface for transmission."
    I also would like to quote Brian McGahan, CCIE #8593
    "The description of silent and non-silent is hard to extrapolate from the brief description on CCO, but this is what it means. When in "silent" mode, the switch will generate (if in "desirable" mode) PAgP and respond to PAgP (if in "auto" mode) regardless of whether the link is "silent", meaning whether or not you are recieving traffic from your neighbor.
    When in "non-silent" mode, the switch will only initiate or respond to a PAgP request if the link is "non-silent", meaning that you are receiving traffic in the interface.
    Why this is even an option I'm not really sure, but by default the switch will run PAgP regardless of whether or not traffic is being received in the interface." -- http://forum.internetworkexpert.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=3346&Main=3256
    I think the only way to find out is to test it yourself in a lab environment. I will keep this in mind for future testing.
    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Silent mode doesn't work anymore on 5.1.1

    With 5.1.1 any app that used setRingerMode(silent) no longer works. So putting the phone in silent mode is now broken for lots of the 3rd party apps.The D5803, D6653, D6503 go into vibrate mode, but not into silence mode. Come on Sony, get this fixed asap! P.S. The moderator here may think this is referring Sony's own UI. It's not! The issue affects any 3rd party app that tries to mute the phone on a schedule. In 5.0 this results in priority mode, while in 5.1.1 it does nothing at all. This is a bug in Sony's firmware as other 5.1.1 devices work as expected.

    Hello folks. A couple days ago I was happy to see a new firmware update for my almost a year old Sony Xperia Z3.Updated to Lollipop 5.1.1, been happy with it SO FAR..... untill I stared to realize an annoying behavior with the silent mode settings.
    Before the update, I used to have my phone set up in such a way that it went to PRIORITY mode notifications from Midnight to 7am. Everything worked perfectly fine. Here is the problem descirption:What happens now - Every time the clock hits Midnight, the phone goes into SILENT MODE, and not Priority mode, although my setting clearly indicate it to allow exceptions in silent mode from midnight to 7am. That's fine... whatever, I just turn on the "allow exception" and "allow alarm" on from the drop down menu and it goes into priority again. BUT, there is a second problem. Once in a few times, when I press the volume up OR down buttons, the tasking changes from my selected option (midnight to 7am) to either INDEFINIE or the second setting (where you can select for how long you want it to be on silent). This is veeery odd. For example, I set the tasking as follows:Priority mode (silent mode allowing exceptios and alarms), selecting the third option, midnight to 7am. I shut the phone.I wake up the phone, press the volume up button, and it shows that my tasking is now INDEFINITE. Sometimes it is set on the second option... What can cause this weird behaviour?? Or is it just me?

    This vaguely means that its trying to open a GUI wizard, which is not what I intended to do. The argument -mode=console should run the installer in console mode, but its trying to launch it in GUI mode.
    I searched online, but I have not found anything useful on this issue yet.
    Am I missing something?  Has anyone faced this problem before.
    Any thoughts on this would be helpful  !!
    Thanks,

    Weblogic 12C (12.1.2 to be precise), currently does not support console mode Domain creation. It supports only GUI mode and Silent mode.
    Possible solution to create a 12.1.2  Weblogic domain fully qualified enough to deploy ADF Applications :
    1. Install Xming, and enable X11 forwarding on Putty
    2. Silent Mode installation: The Configuration wizard. ./config.sh -mode=silent  -silent_script=xyz . Yes, it needs a silent script, not silent.xml. I did not try this way and instead resorted to WLST.  Still there are not enough blogs that clearly tell you how to install domain based on JRF template. I stumbled upon a similar OTN forum post.
    Here is the bunch of WLST commands if anyone is interested
    #=======================================================================================
    # Open a domain template.
    #=======================================================================================
    readTemplate("/u01/app/mw/Oracle_Home/wlserver/common/templates/wls/wls.jar")
    #=======================================================================================
    # Update the domain to enable the WebLogic Server domain with JRF and EM.
    #=======================================================================================
    addTemplate('/u01/app/mw/Oracle_Home/oracle_common/common/templates/wls/oracle.jrf_template_12.1.2.jar')
    addTemplate('/u01/app/mw/Oracle_Home/em/common/templates/wls/oracle.em_wls_template_12.1.2.jar')
    #=======================================================================================
    # Configure the Administration Server and SSL port.
    # To enable access by both local and remote processes, you should not set the
    # listen address for the server instance (that is, it should be left blank or not set).
    # In this case, the server instance will determine the address of the machine and
    # listen on it.
    #=======================================================================================
    cd('Servers/AdminServer')
    set('ListenAddress','')
    set('ListenPort', 7001)
    create('AdminServer','SSL')
    cd('SSL/AdminServer')
    set('Enabled', 'True')
    set('ListenPort', 7002)
    #=======================================================================================
    # Define the user password for weblogic.
    #=======================================================================================
    cd('/')
    cd('Security/base_domain/User/weblogic')
    # Please set password here before using this script, e.g. cmo.setPassword('value')
    cmo.setPassword('password')
    # Create and configure a JDBC Data Source, and sets the JDBC user.   Provide the Schema Credentials of the Service table
    # Get RCU Configuration using RCU service table (STB) schema credentials
    cd('/')
    cd('JDBCSystemResource/LocalSvcTblDataSource/JdbcResource/LocalSvcTblDataSource')
    cd('JDBCDriverParams/NO_NAME_0')
    set('DriverName','oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver')
    set('URL','jdbc:oracle:thin:@XX.XX.XX.XX:1521/xe.yourdomain.com')
    set('PasswordEncrypted', 'schemaPassword')
    set('UseXADataSourceInterface', 'false')
    cd('Properties/NO_NAME_0')
    cd('Property/user')
    cmo.setValue('DEV_STB')
    getDatabaseDefaults()
    #=======================================================================================
    # Write the domain and close the domain template.
    #=======================================================================================
    setOption('OverwriteDomain', 'true')
    writeDomain('/u01/data/user_projects/domains/your_domain')
    closeTemplate()
    #=======================================================================================
    # Exit WLST.
    #=======================================================================================
    exit()
    Hoping to write a blog post soon..

  • WLS 8.1 silent configuration

    In weblogic server 8.1,
    When Creating a template for a silent configuration of a domain, is there a way
    to change the domain name? I have been able to use the config.sh -mode=silent
    command with a configuration script to create a domain and change the server name
    and other parameters but not the domain name. I'l like to use the same template
    to create multiple domain with the same basic configuration but different names.

    I'm sorry to say that I dont have an answer for this, but am interested to see
    if you have an answer to a related question ( http://newsgroups.bea.com/cgi-bin/dnewsweb?cmd=article&group=weblogic.developer.interest.81beta.server.install&item=48&utag=
    Also on WL 8.1, I'm trying to set username/passwords in the silent_script, but
    the syntax outlined at http://e-docs.bea.com/platform/docs81/confgwiz/silent.html
    doesn't work.
    cheers
