I'm trying to configure group in LDAP, and add members to this group :

The Problem : When i give permission in Websphere for a specific user, it's OK and the user can log in.
BUT, When I give a permission in Websphere for a group, websphere does\n't allow the group's users to log in, because Websphere doesn't recognize the user i'm tring to login with, as a user of this group.
So maybe this is not the way i should configure group.
can anyone help ?

Can we create custom groups and associate LDAP users to those groups in Weblogic server ?

Satya, if u have a user in ur LDAP, you cant make a user from ur LDAP be a member of a Group in WLS.
What you can do it modify the Global Roles so that the user has the same previledge as a user belonging to the group in WLS.
Follow the steps below
1. Go to "myrealm"
2. Click the tab "Roles and Policies"
3. Click the tab "Realm Roles"
4. Expand the link "Global Roles"
5. Click the link "View Role Conditions" coressponding to the name "Admin". Enter the panel "Edit Global Role"
6. Click the button "Add Conditions"
7. Select "Predicate List" as "user"
8. Click the button "Next"
9. Enter my username (ldapuser) in LDAP to the field "User Argument Name:"
10. Click the button "Add"
11. Click the button "Finish"
12. Back to the page "Edit Global Role"
13. Here I can see
User :ldapuser
Or
Group : Administrators
14. Click the button "Save"
15. Restart the server
ldapuser will have the same previledge as a user belonging to Administrator group..

Using Dynamic Groups in Ldap for Accounts and Roles

Does anyone currently use dynamic groups in LDAP for accounts and roles? I have set up a dynamic group in ldap (we are using OID Oracle internet Directory 10.1.2.0) , ldapsearch returns the correct list of unique names, but the account does not appear on my profile page when I log in to UCM (10.1.3). I cannot find any documentation so I'm asking myself if it is supported .....

The Content Server by itself is unable to process dynamic LDAP groups since the filter that is used cannot read dynamic groups. However, dynamic groups can still work in the Content Server if the permissions for the queried user are generated on the LDAP server side. For example: Novell and Active Directory both have this functionality.

Dynamic Groups in LDAP and Calendar

Folks,
I have defined a dynamic group in LDAP. I would like for that group to be invited to an event. When I add an event and search I find the group. When I check the group and click 'OK' it doesn't show the group as invited. When I search again, it says the group is included but no one is invited.
Also, how do I protect a group from being used by anybody???

Assigning Users to Groups on LDAP thru EP

Hi,
I have configured EP6 SP7 with multiple LDAP(MS-ADS)servers. I can read/write the groups and users to LDAP through EP. But i cannot assign the users to groups through Enterprise Portal. Also if i assign users to a group in LDAP on LDAP server itself, these assignments does not show up in the portal. do i have to configure my dataSourceConfiguration_multiLDAP_db.xml file? if so then which parameter?

Need a clarification. If users are assigned to a group in LDAP, Can you see the same thing reflecting in portal?
I have configured LDAP as UME and I am able to see a group of LDAP appearing in Portal. But when I see the list of users assigned to this group, its empty.
Any clues or suggestions.

When I run the command "ldapclient init", I got the error message:

Does the profile UserProfile exist on your LDAP server?
Do the logs on your LDAP server show access problems?
Try using -v to get more verbose output

Configuring group policy for user profiles in Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain

Requesting some experts advise on configuring group policy for user profiles.
We will be building new Windows Server 2012 R2 Domain Controllers (Domain of 400 users).
The settings which I am concerned:
1. Folder Redirection: Desktop, Documents, Favorites.
2. Quota for Folder Redirection - 1 GB per user.
3. Map a networked drive - 1 GB per user.
4. Roaming profile - (Will ignore if it does not suit our requirement).
The question is how outlook profile will be retained / automatically moved if the users move from once computer to other?
FYI, E-mails hosted on MS Office365 and OST file size of few users more than 25GB. So, in case the user moves from one computer to other, the entire mailbox will be downloaded via internet. This consumes high bandwidth if more than 3-4 users shift per day.

This depends on where our outlook data files are stored. If these data files are stored under
drive:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local, then these files can’t be redirected, for folder redirection can’t redirect appdata local or locallow.

Problem in configuring "Group" in BizTalk Server Configuration

After installing BizTalk I am configuring it , Enterprise SSO is configured Successfully and then trying to configure Group,But it is failing.Below is the log file.

Additionally while running the configuration you should be using an account with ELEVATED permissions who should also be a member of the Performance Counter Users local group.

Authorization Scheme based on a group in LDAP?

Hi,
I would like to write an Authorization Scheme that checks whether a user (authenticated via a Authentication scheme based on LDAP) is a member of a specific group in LDAP, for access control.
I can't seem to find documentation or an example of this. Would appreciate any tips or links to docs and examples....

Crystal Reports XI R2 Server problem when trying to load groups from LDAP

Hi,
I'm using Crystal Reports XI R2 SP4 on RedHat Linux. My users are being authorized through LDAP (OID). My problem is that after removing all groups (right now no groups/users are visible in CMC) in CMC Authentication tool and then trying to add them again I'm receiving following error:
"LDAP: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder."
I've checked connectivity to LDAP server and it's ok. Could it be connected to CMS problems/corruption? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

The only personal folders visible from under Admin panel are for users Administrator and Guest. I've tried to query CMS tables but these store entries not in plain text so I cannot identify entries connected to personal folders. I have also tried to do this via Query Repository tool but all returned entries were ok.
I have also noticed that when trying to load group from LDAP after it returns error "LDAP: Failed to commit objects to server : Duplicate object name in the same folder." entry for this group is created in CMS table. Also this group is then visible in admin Groups panel. No users are created with the group and when I'm trying to list users belonging to added group it returns "internal secLDAP security plug-in error" but without any other suggestion what went wrong.

Can't configure group policy

We are using LDAP with the option: dataSourceConfiguration_<LDAP_directory_vendor>_deep_readonly_db.xml
I need to assign users to groups without use User Admin --> Identity Management.
I want to know how can I assign Groups from LDAP and not from UME datasource because we don't want use the Identity Management tool.
The Portal Version is EP7.0 SP23

the Problem is, that i can't see the Button "Export Profile for Configurator" on the Page - System > Organisation.
