Configuring Servers and Clusters

Hi All,
Whenever I am creatin HFM application,it is asking server,I have tried to "Configuring Servers and Clusters" ,but I am unable to coniger, please assist me.
Regards,
Prabhu

For your second question I think it is E. Coherence Web Edition
Because Coherence provides the ability to scale your application and also offers high availability by replicating the session objects to coherence nodes/caches.

  • Need recommendation - iis with two physical servers and clusters

    Hello,
I was hoping to get a recommendation/opinion or two on the configuration I've inherited. I'm looking
at the following configuration using weblogic 8.1 sp4 server (to be upgraded to sp6) running on two physical machines:
    MachineA:
    Domain: myDomain
    Cluster: cluster1
Servers: Admin Server:9001 (not part of cluster)
    ManagedServer1:7001
    ManagedServer2:7010
    MachineB:
    Domain: myDomain
    Cluster: cluster2
Servers: Admin Server:9001 (not part of cluster)
    ManagedServer3:7001
    ManagedServer4:7010
On MachineA: IIS Proxy Plugin with parameter in .ini file
    WeblogicCluster: MachineA:7001, MachineA:7010, MachineB:7001,MachineB7010
Naturally, the IIS is acting as a round robin load balancer..
The domains were created using the wizard on both machines and basic domain template..
For proper failover to be taken advantage of, does something different need to be configured? Or is it fine?
And if so, does group replication have something to do with it?
Should either of the clusters be Managed Servers across physical machines?
or should this just be one cluster of 4 managed servers across two machines?
I really am not sure on any of this, even though i've read through much of the documentation for clustering..twice.
I should mention that there is only a .war file deployed with 4 connection pools and 4 Data Sources..No EJBs or JMS
Would really appreciate any feedback or opinions/advice..
    Thanks

    This is what I'd do
    MachineA:
    Domain: myDomain
    Cluster: cluster1
Servers: Admin Server:9001 (not part of cluster)
    ManagedServer1:7010
    ManagedServer2:7020
    MachineB:
    Domain: myDomain
    Cluster: cluster2
Servers: Admin Server:9001 (not part of cluster)
    ManagedServer3:8010
    ManagedServer4:8020
I just changed the port numbers so they flow and have a pattern - 70* port numbers belong to cluster 1, 80* port numbers belong to cluster 2. No technical benefit apart from it makes it tidier in my opinion.
Port 9001 for the admin server is normally the domain wide admin port - you could be using that, so that's fine, but my admin server is running 7001.
You also only need one admin server per domain, this can run on MachineA
Replication groups are used to help WLS figure out where to place the secondary http session. It will try servers on a different machine/replication group first, if none available, it will create secondary on the same machine.
What you will end up with is a domain with 4 managed servers in it. The admin server will run on machineA, say using port 7001, each of the managed servers will contact the admin server to download it's config.
The cluster1 will contain 2 managed servers and the same for cluster2.
providing you have your cluster multicast addresses set up and the cluster is working, that should be all you need to do for the session failover.
There's some BEA sample code somewhere which will deploy a web-app and show which managed server you've attached to. If you find that and then connect through IIS, shut down the server that the JSP tells you, you should be able to see the session fail-over nicely.
    Hope that helps,
    Pete

  • Configuration data and clusters

While coding in LV for product test rig applications there is this need to save configuration data to disk and retrieve it while running the test. A typical scenario to test product "AA" will be :
    1. There are 10 different variations of the basic product AA_1 to AA_10.
    2. Each variant has 40 odd parameters that can vary.
    3. User enters the values for these variants and will have to be saved on disk.
    4. When a particular model is tested, all 40 parameters for it have to be read from disk and used in the various tests.
In such events the only option seems to be :
(*) Collect all the user entered parameters into clusters. If there are totally 8 tests for each model, then have 8 clusters and bundle parameters pertaining to each test into that cluster.
(*) Write the clusters to disk in a bit stream using "Write File.VI"
(*) When running the test, retrieve the parameters from disk and load them into the relevant clusters back. Unbundle by name and use each of the parameters as required. And if the same parameter is required to be used in many functions in the same test, then assign it to a local variable (my beloved ;-)) and use it.
I would like experienced LV professionals to comment on this method.
Handling the clusters and wiring them for large data storing and retrieval calls for heavy wiring. Is there no way out ?
    Thanks

    Hi Raghunathan,
Since you have to deal with so many elements of data, it looks like clusters will be your best method. It will simplify your file I/O and will also help you keep the data organized. I'm not sure why you must write the data to disk, but if it is necessary, clusters will be helpful. It's true that there will be many wires when you bundle and unbundle those clusters, but that will happen no matter how you deal with large numbers of parameters. It will probably make your code more readable if you write subVIs to take the clusters as input, and then break apart the clusters within the subVIs.
    I hope this is helpful!

  • SharePoint Foundation 2013 - Search Configuration Issue - 2 App Servers and 2 Front-End Servers

    Hi,
We have a SharePoint Foundation 2013 with SP1 Environment.
In that, we have 2 Front-End Servers and 2 App Servers. In the Front-End Servers, the Search Service is stopped and is in Disabled state and in the 2 App Servers in One App Server, Search is Online and in another Search is Starting but goes to Stopped sooon
    after.
Originally, we had only 1 App Server and we were running our Search Service and Search Service Application in that. Now since the index location became full and we were unable to increase the drive there, we added one more App Server and now the issue is
Search is not properly getting configured in either of these App servers. What we want to do is run Search only in the new App Server, because we have a lot of storage space for Index locations here, but in the older App Server, not run Search at all.  We
tried keeping the Search Service disabled and ran the below PowerShell Scripts, but none of the ones are working. These scripts are creating the Search Service Application, but the error of "Admin Component is not Online", "Could not connect
to the machine hosting SharePoint 2013 admin component" is coming up.

    Hi Karthick,
For your issue, could you provide the
detail error message of ULS log  to determine the exact cause of the error?
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS
For troubleshooting your issue,  you can try to run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard on your WFE servers and run the script for configuring the search service on SharePoint

  • How can i configure Distributed cache servers and front-end servers for Streamlined topology in share point 2013??

my question is regarding SharePoint 2013 Farm topology. if i want go with Streamlined topology and having (2 distribute cache and Rm servers+ 2 front-end servers+ 2 batch-processing servers+ cluster sql server) then how distributed servers will
be connecting to front end servers? Can i use windows 2012 NLB feature? if i use NLB and then do i need to install NLB to all distributed servers and front-end servers and split-out services? What will be the configuration regarding my scenario.
    Thanks in Advanced!

For the Distributed Cache servers, you simply make them farm members (like any other SharePoint servers) and turn on the Distributed Cache service (while making sure it is disabled on all other farm members). Then, validate no other services (except for
the Foundation Web service due to ease of solution management) is enabled on the DC servers and no end user requests or crawl requests are being routed to the DC servers. You do not need/use NLB for DC.

  • What is load balancer in fms cluster and how to configure it and testing fms clustering

    Hey guys,
I am new to fms and clustering the fms server in origin-edge mode. But i am confused actually what is load balancer and how to configure it .
After configuring , how to test and confirm that fms clustering is working. Is there any one can help me, plz....................
                                                                                                   thanks in Advance........

Flash Media Server does not come bundled with a load balancer.  In theory, one deploys FMS in an edge/origin configuration like this
    1 Origin ----> N Edges ------> Customer Traffic
The idea here is that N edges shoulder the load for most customers with a single origin coordinating resources like VOD content or script access.  The issue that remains is "how do I spread customers over the N edges" and that's where load balancing comes in.  Most customers use a prepackaged load balancing solution - as an Adobe staffer I can't recommend any of them over the other, but you should be able to get some recommendations here along with just googling for it.  The short answer contained here though is, you're going to have to find one outside of FMS if that's needed for your setup.

  • CVP servers and VXML Servers clustering

    Hi ;
Can I install the CVP servers and the VXML Servers as cluster (so any change at one of the server will be existed in the others without need to repeat the work)?
To distribute the load on these servers (the CVP Server and the VXML Server), should I use load balancer or any other suggested method?
    Regards
    Bilal

    Hello Bilal
You can't have CVP in cluster for centralized configuration. You need to configure each of them seperately.
    For the load ballancing,
For Call Signalling, you can use Gatekeeper if you use H323. And you can use SIP Proxy Server like CUPS or CUSP for load balancing.
Since VXML server uses HTTP, you can CSS to do the load balancing.
    Hope this helps.
    thanks

  • Transaction span two WLS managed servers (non-clustering)

    (Weblogic 6.1 - non-clustering version)
I have two managed servers configured on a single machine on different
ports, and I am not using clustering weblogic. Assuming I have EJB A
deployed on managed server 1, and EJB B deployed on managed server 2.
I want to have EJB A to invoke EJB B. In EJB A, I guess I will
probably create the InitialContext with the URL of managed server 2,
then do the JNDI look up and call EJB B.
    My questions are:
    - Can weblogic handle transaction that spans two managed servers
    (non-clustering setting)?
    - Does weblogic use XA to handle transaction between managed servers?
    - Do I need to do any JTA code in order to achieve that (instead of
just letting the EJB container to handle the transaction for me)?
    Thanks in advance!

to different databases, TX DataSources should be based on connection pools
    used XA drivers.

  • The directory service is missing mandatory configuration information, and is unable to determine the ownership of floating single-master operation roles.

We are in the process of removing a child domain from the forest and are down to two DCs. These are both Server 2008r2 sp1 servers, one physical and virtual (PDC). When I try to remove a DC (not the PDC emulator) I get the following error:
    The operation failed because:
Active Directory Domain Services could not transfer the remaining data in directory partition DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=mydomain,DC=local to
    Active Directory Domain Controller \\V-Svr03.mydomain.local.
The directory service is missing mandatory configuration information, and is unable to determine the ownership of floating single-master operation roles."
I have checked replication with repadmin /showrepl and all connections were successful. The dcdiag /test:kccEvent test on all servers passed.
Most DCdiag tests are successful. The only failure is on NCSecDesc when running dcdiag /test:NCSecDesc
       Testing server: Default-First-Site\DC1-DEV-OFC
          Starting test: NCSecDesc
Error NT AUTHORITY\ENTERPRISE DOMAIN CONTROLLERS doesn't have

access rights for the naming context:
             DC=ForestDnsZones,DC=hookemup,DC=local
             ......................... DC1-DEV-OFC failed test NCSecDesc
In researching this I find "If you do not plan to add an RODC to the forest, you can disregard this error."
We have not successfully run ADprep /rodcPrep nor do we plan on having any Read-Only DCs, so I think we can ignor this error. We did try running ADprep /rodcPrep but got an LDAP error which I can duplicate if this is important.
Schema and Naming FSMOs are on a DC higher in the forest. RID, PDC, and Infrastructure FSMOs for the child domain are on the Virtual server (PDC).
Any guidance on where to go from here would be greatly appreciated as I have no more hair on my head to pull.

Ok... I ran repadmin /showreps /v again and it shows no errors

  • UCSM 2.1 Local disk configuration policy and raid volumes

    Hi!
If i use Any configuration as local disk configuration policy and do the raid settings directly to the RAID-cards, am i able to have two raid volumes on C-series under UCSM management?
What i would like to do with C240M3 with 6 local disks: 2 disk raid1 and 4 disk raid0
    So i would use:
"Any Configuration—For a server configuration that carries forward the local disk configuration without any changes."
As UCS servers Raid guide indicates:
"Maximum of One RAID Volume and One RAID Controller in Integrated Rack-Mount Servers
A rack-mount server that has been integrated with Cisco UCS Manager can  have a maximum of one RAID volume irrespective of how many hard drives  are present on the server. "
Is this paragraph limitation of GUI not able to set several volumes or hard fact without "Any configuration" workaround?

I did some testing about this issue:
Changed Local Disk Configuration to "Any Configuration"
Two virtual disks can be created from Raid card's WebBIOS
These disks are visible to RedHat Installation.
UCSM shows Any configuration for the Storage Local Disk policy
Actual Disk Configuration has faulty information - WebBios is the only place to check the RAID status?
Next step: I'll do the same for the production

  • Version 31.3.0 hangs on Windows 7, for 2 IMAP servers and for yahoo

Just upgraded to 31.3.0 on Windows 7. I have 2 IMAP servers and yahoo accounts configured. Thunderbird client just hangs there (shows Searching... at the bottom), doesn't show any emails. Also, unable to bring up various windows: Tools->Add Ons and Tools->Options do not pop any windows. Worked just fine in previous version.

  • Non Domain Servers and Workstations

    Hi,
we are trying to deploy SCCM 2012 clients to non domain servers, and we are also in the process of trying to find out what the best way we can clean up machines from sccm that have not logged in 90days or more.
From my understanding if I turn on only discover machines that have logged on to the domain in a given period of time than that means if a server has not logged in will not be discovered which can be an issue when patching, and also what do I need to do
with the non domain servers with sccm client installed on the servers.
can you please help me with this that would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks Tom

  • Restart of services of servers in clustered environment

    Hi
We had setup clustered environment constituting 2(two) BI Servers and one Presentation Server. We found out that, at a particular time with a difference of 15 mins say b/n 5:30 - 5:45 the services of one of the BI Server is getting restarted.
Please, help us with a solution.

I am not sure whether this would be in context or not but...
Please check if there are any batch files or scripts running in the server everyday at that time which stops the server. In some cases even the server gets restarted which might cause the BI and Presentation server to go down.
    Regards,
    Bhavik

  • Print servers and printers problems on Win7 and Win8

    Hello,
We have some computers, working on Windows operating system in the office: a few forking on the good old XP sp3, one running on the Win7 x64 home edition and one running on Win8 professional (the last one installed for new OS testing purposes)
During last two months I have tested a few print servers attempting to find one which can work with Windows 7: Trendnet, Synology, and D-link print servers. However, unsuccessfully. Here is the result:
       1) Any print servers is working perfectly with WinXP sp3 (full printing and MFP function support, easy configuration and access, successfully scanning and printing operations in 100% cases)
       2) No one print server is working correctly with Win7 home x64 (mostly successful installation but complicated and unclear configuration; printed pages often is missing, no scan support for MFP.
       3) There is a little bit better situation with Win8: 100% printing support on the same equipment but no scan support for MFP
Could you please help me with followings:
    1) Could you please help me configure print servers and printers on Win7 x64, including printing and scanning support?
    2) Could you please help me configure scanning support for Win8?
Please find full list of affected hardware bellow:
    1) Machines, running on Win XP: Panasonic CF-29, CF-74, HP Compaq dc7600, some Acer laptops;
    2) Machine, running on Win7 x64 home: Asus UX21, (OS probably was preinstalled on the factory)
    3) Machine, running on Win8 pro: Lenovo X200 tablet
    4) Printer HP LJ1020 with drivers for XP and Win7, x86 and x64
    5) MFP printer Canon MP600 with drivers for XP and Win7, x86 and x64
    6) Print server: D-link DPR-2000
    7) Router: Cisco RV042G
All the machines has correct drivers installed, all the printers supports all the services if connected to computer directly. I have made all possible steps solving mentioned problems, including automated problem solving wizards on Win7.
Thanks in advance for your support
