Conncting to CM SDK from Java

I am using CMSDK API to connect to oracle CM SDK by using the following statement
service = LibraryService.startService(serviceName, schemapassword, serviceConfig, domain);
but i have following exception
oracle.ifs.common.IfsException: IFS-20100: Unable to find service (MODService)
oracle.ifs.common.IfsException: IFS-20120: Invalid service name (MODService)
     at oracle.ifs.common.IfsException.<init>(IfsException.java:300)

     at com.raya.mod.cmsdk.IfsManager.connectToRepository(IfsManager.java:25)
     at com.raya.mod.cmsdk.IfsManager.main(IfsManager.java:78)
i need to know if i am using wrong service name , where can i find the right service name ?and what is the Service name ?

There is a table in the CMSDK that will give you the service name. You can also login to the Application Server Control and under the CMSDK pages it will tell you the default service. It is usually IfsDefaultService, unless you change it.

  • Running javac from java

    I have created a program which generates code that needs to be compiled while running the program. Currently I am doing it using Runtime.exec() but I don't like the dos window that appears. If there is any way to hide the dos window or compile another way, let me know? Thanks
    This is how I am currently doing it:
    String exec = "javac " + Filename;
    Runtime r = Runtime.getRuntime();
    Process p = r.exec(exec);
    try {
    int exitVal = p.waitFor();
    if (exitVal != 0){
    InputStream stderr = p.getErrorStream();
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader (stderr);
    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
    String line = null;
    while ( (line = br.readLine()) != null)
    Sytem.out.println(line);
    catch (java.lang.InterruptedException ie){ie.printStackTrace();}

    You can do the following:
    1. Use class generation API to generate ready class. But you must care about syntax or VM will generate errors on load.
    2. Use compiler in SDK from Java. Below is my code:
          File classesDir = new File(home, "classes");
          File javaSource = new File(source.getParent(), className+".java");
                new sun.tools.javac.Main(System.err, "javac").
                  compile(
                    new String[]{
                      "-d",
                      classesDir.getPath(),
                      "-classpath",
                      classesDir.getPath(),
                      javaSource.getPath()
                  );where javaSource is file to be compiled and classesDir is a directory where compiler emits classes.
    The first way is faster, but the second is preferred because you can see intermediate sources. Oh, in second case you must have /java_home/lib.tools.jar file in your classpath. Thats all, enjoy :))

  • Running javafx from java without jfx sdk installed

    I need to run jfx application on client's computer(without jfx sdk installation and outside the browser) from a java code.
    I also need to path parameters from java to javafx and to get return value.
    What i did:
    1) put a.html, a_browser.jnlp and a.jar files on the server.
    2 )run javafx application from java by swt.browser.setUrl(server address/a.html)
    To pass parameter:
    I know single option to pass parameter - create a1.html, a2.html ... an.html for each possible parameter value and javafx will read this parameter by FX.getArgument("parameter"). This solution is ok in my case. But i don't know how to return value back to java.
    thank you

    Problem solved. I used
    Context context = FXLocal.getContext();
    FXClassType instance = context.findClass("loginscrean.PlayerAdapter");
    ObjectValue obj = (ObjectValue)instance.newInstance();
    PlayersObserver po = (PlayersObserver)obj.asObject();
    po.RestartPlayersList();
    in java method which was trying to connect and in RestartPlayersList(); I used FX.deferAction(function() {  method content  });
    I dont't know whether it is a right way of doing it but seems to be working.
    P.S. The reason why application hanged was being careless with synchronization which as a result caused a dead lock.

  • Porting from JDK 1.2.2 to MS SDK for Java 4.0 - Help!!!

    Hi All!
    My company is developing big project using WLS 4.5.1. + JDK 1.2.2 + Java
    Plug-In 1.2.2 on clients. A lot of applied code depend on Java 2 APIs,
    javax/swing is actively used as well. But the customer decide to use
    Microsoft VM both on server and client sides - they have support contract
    (for other products) with MS and MS may decide to cancel support if our
    customer will use Sun JDK and Sun JVM.
    So, I have to try to port all project to MS SDK for Java and the question
    is: Do I have a chance not to rewrite 100% of my code?
    Somewhere I read: ":I've downloaded the new MS Virtual Machine
    (msjavx86.exe) that should be compatible to Java2:" - is it really so? Does
    anybody knows if MS will support Java 2 platform specifications? As I found
    at MS, latest MS JDK 4.0 (on which WLS 5.1 can run) meets specification of
    Java 1.1 and after installing it I found that I must rewrite about 90% of my
    code. Can someone clarify the situation with MS JDK?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrey Bogush
    PS: Any information, links, documents, overviews on how to persuade the
    customer to use Sun JDK and JVM against MS one are VERY and STRONGLY welcome

    Hi,
    Anyone knows how to read a CAB File from java. I need to read a property file of txt file that is packaged in CAB file & then based on that, I have to do processing. Is there anyway to do it.
    I had tried using java.util.zip.ZipFile Class, but it does work for JAR, but not for CAB.

    Perhaps there's something in the Cabinet SDK that will help:

  • Why opening from java the rpt search for a JNDI when it's setup for a DNS ?

    I downloaded CR for eclipse 2.
    All is 'quite' working froma a java app.
    i've only a problem with an 'jndi name search error'. I'll try to explain.
    In the RPT i use a DSN connection to a sql server into a differente machine. When I open directly the rpt, all is working.
    From java code, i'll open the report, but when i try to export  to pdf iit tell me about an error 'jndi name search error', with the name of the DSN connection i setup.
    Why? Why opening rpt all is working, but opening from code NOT is working ?
    What's the difference from two opening methods? Why an .rpt opened from java cannot just open the connection like when opened from cristal report !?
    *My question is: why opening from java the rpt search for a JNDI when it's setup for a DNS connection ?! *

    The .rpt has been originally created from an ancient version of Cristal report. probably the '8'.
    In an italian software called 'Business', the .rpt is populated for printing of invoices and similar docs.
    My society is trying to 'integrate' our software with the .rpt used from our customer.
    So we want simply open .rpt, add a new logo, set the selection for record and save as pdf.
    We so bought Cristal report 2008 (v.12 ), opened the .rpt, saved (so it 's now in a supported version).
    The sql server is located at 10.1.2.40, and is a Microsoft Sql Server.
    In my development pc I've installed Cr 12. I added a User DSN to point to Sql server at 10.1.2.40, at right DB with username and password. Opening from my development machine the .rpt and 'running' it, it display the data. Ok !
    I downloaded CR4 Eclipse 2.
    I open report using the unmanaged sdk. (to access it through file system, not via RAS), Ok.
    I set selection record. Ok.
    I execute .export with 'PDF' for format option and here I get an exception: the JNDI name 'CPR'  is not found. Where CPR is the DSN name setup into .rpt from Cristal Report 2008.
    So, no, i'm not trying to using the designer from Eclipse, but from the full application. But I must use the rpt at runtime to export some rendered records.
    What must I do to do this?
    CR4E only supports java based connections, so it is looking for the JDBC/JNDI name and won't look at the DSN's.
    How Can i setup at runtime a JDBC / JNDI connection ?
    I already have a 'connection' from my code to the sql server, using sqlserver jdbc driver v. 4 from microsoft. And executing query I see the results. So i have right driver, ip, db name, user name and password
    But is there a way to simply tell at runtime to my .rpt to use THIS connection? Or a similar connection...
    Thanks in advance for help provided to us. (we bought a CR license only for this work...)

  • Calling back c++ method in an exe (not a dll) from java?

    Hi all,
    I have to make an hybrid C++/java from an existing C++
    application that compiled is a big single exe not a dll.
    I'm running under win32.
    The application consists of several windows. The hybrid
    will have widows in C++ and some in java. They have the
    same menu and tool bar. In the C++, there are some
    callbacks called when a button is pressed. How to call
    these callback from java given the fact that the JVM and
    the java classes are launched by the exe file.
    I know how, from C++, start JVM and call my java window.
    I also know how to call a C++ method that is in a dll from
    java. It's from the tutorial
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/native1.1/index.html
    But I don't know how to call a C++ method that is in in an
    exe which has launch a JVM from an object running in this

  • Two questions on dynamic parameter from java API point of view

    Hi,
    We have a requirement for dynamic parameters in crystal reports that need to be executed in java application. Since, crystal java framework do not support the dynamic parameter execution (please correct me if I am wrong), we plan to execute explicitly the query for getting the dynamic values of such dynamic parameters before listing the parameters in java application.
    The query for the dynamic parameter will be given in the field 'Prompt Group Text' of the parameter.
    I coudl not get hold of these details from java api. So please some one help me out.
    Environment - Crystal X1 R2 with java libraries
    1. How can we identify a parameter is a dynamic one?
    2. How to get the 'Prompt Group Text' field value?
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Thanks,
    Ratan.

    There are these two methods in the Business Objects Enterprise SDK Developer Libary:
    byte[]   getDynamicCascadePromptData()
               Returns a collection that contains dynamic cascading prompt data.
    java.lang.String getDynamicCascadePromptGroupID()
                            Returns a dynamic cascade prompt group ID.
    For more information on what is available through available SDK's, please refer to the following link:

  • How to access data structures in C dll from java thru JNI?

    We have been given API's( collection of C Functions) from some vendor.
    SDK from vendor consist of:
    Libpga.DLL, Libpga.h,Libpga.lib, Along with that sample program Receiver.h (i don't know its written in C or C++), I guess .C stnads for C files?
    Considering that I don't know C or C++ (Except that I can understand what that program is doing) & i have experience in VB6 and Java, In order to build interface based on this API, I have two option left, Use these dll either from VB or Java.
    As far as I know, calling this DLL in VB requires all the data structures & methods to be declared in VB, I guess which is not the case with Java (? I'm not sure)
    I experiemnted calling these function from Java through JNI, and I successfully did by writting wrapper dll. My question is whether I have to declare all the constants & data structures defined in libpga.h file in java, in order to use them in my java program??
    Any suggesstion would be greatly appreciated,
    Vini

    1. There are generators around that claim to generate suitable wrappers, given some dll input. I suggest you search google. Try JACE, jni, wrapper, generator, .... Also, serach back through this forum, where there have been suggestions made.
    2. In general, you will need to supply wrappers, and if you want to use data from the "C side" in java, then you will need java objects that hold the data.

  • Use vCloud SDK for Java to integrate with vCD 5.6

    Hello Folks,
             Newbie here.
             I have a situation where a home grown app, that uses vCloud SDK for Java to invoke a vCloud Director 5.1 installation. We use this for powering on/ off a few VMs.
             Our installation is being upgraded from vCloud Director 5.1 to 5.6.
             My question is, are we expected to upgrade/ carry out any code changes to our current implementation to integrate with the newer runtime version (5.6)?
             Many thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Mohan

    Somewhat going from memory here.
    As long as the REST API Versions URL states that it is compatible with 5.1, then you should be fine to make the calls as v5.1.
    Here is the section of the documentation for that:
    Using the vCloud API with vCloud Director
    The I think the SDKs are just wrappers in a manner of speaking.  They all eventually translate code (java/python/etc) into a REST API system that is sent into vCloud Director via the API.  For the most part, I think it'll work.
    That's not talking about "support", just that it should work with some exceptions.  I don't know if there is an official stance on cross compatibility like this.

I've looked for it on google, but I haven't found. Does somebody have this version? If you have it, or you know a download link, post me, please. Thanks!

    I've had a look but that version doesn't seem to be available for download anymore, either on Sony's developer world site, or anywhere else. I suggest you contact Sony and see if they can help you:

    Description:
    ========
    We are exploring the possibilities of passing 2 PDF's from Java to Adobe Acrobat XI SDK to get the compared results in new PDF.
    If anyone has explored with this feature... please share your thoughts.

    You would need to write a custom plugin to Acrobat that calls the compare APIs (as they are only accessible from C/C++).  Your plugin can then expose whatever from of IAC/IPC that it wishes to communicate with your Java code.
    Of course, this is all DESKTOP code since Acrobat can't be used on a server.
