Connect Apache and OC4J

Hello, I'm trying to connect Apache with OC4J to handle servlets and JSPs, but it doesn't work.
I've already installed both, but I'm not sure which are the files I've to configure. I've configure the following:
In httpd.conf I've added:
LoadModule oc4j_module modules/mod_oc4j.so
include "C:/ ... ..... . /conf/mod_oc4j.conf"
In the same directory: Apache2\conf, I've added to mod_oc4j.conf at the first line:
LoadModule oc4j_module modules/mod_oc4j.so
and finally I've added in modules directory the mod.oc4j.so
I'm grateful for any help
Thanks a lot

Hello, I have followed the documentation, exactly the point C.7.3 Setting Up a Static Configuration with mod_oc4j, because I am trying to connect generic Apache with OC4J in localhost. But, I have only be able to charge mod_oc4j.so into mod_oc4j.conf, because mod_onsint.so, ApacheModuleOnsint.dll and ApacheModuleOc4j.dll cannot be loaded, log files said me:
- ORACLE_HOME must be set in the environment to use mod_onsint, although I have established ORACLE_HOME in my path. (this is the fail for mod_onsint)
- ApacheModuleOnsint.dll and ApacheModuleOc4j.dll cannot be found, although I have included it in my modules directory.
So, with the following lines added to my mod_oc4j.conf... :
LoadModule oc4j_module modules/mod_oc4j.so
Oc4jMount /sauce/jsp/*.jsp home
I have obtained that the .html pages can be viewed by the firefox, but when I try to access to jsp pages I obtain the following result in error.log of the Apache:
mod_oc4j: There is no oc4j process (for destination: home) available to service request.
I think it is because Apache doesn't know where to redirect jsp pages. How can I show Apache Server to redirect jsp pages to my OC4J?
Sorry, but I am inexperienced in this issues
Any help?
Thanks a lot

    Hi Dibya,
    In case of outbound EDI, document type and document type revision is used to identify a transaction set. Check whether you are receiving these two values correct. On the basis of transaction set and trading partner, it will identify the agreement and then find the particular business action in that agreement.
    Can you please mention that till what step your B2B is able to process the outbound EDI document?

    Thanks for the tip Mathias, it's always good to see people trying out experimental things with the products.
    We're providing a new module (mod_oc4j) with our Oracle9iAS Release2 product to do this directly from the Oracle HTTP Server (Apache). We've re-written bits and pieces of the module to improve it's performance. Likewise, we've also integrated mod_oc4j with our HA story so it will be notified when new OC4J instances are brought online or if existing ones go down, enabling it to actively route requests around the available OC4J instances.
    Thanks again!

  • Servlets and OC4J

    Hi!
    I need help. I'm working with OC4J 9.0.2.0.0a behind Apache. In my application a have to obtain data of DataBase and show it in a fdf. To do that i have done a class that obtains the data and a servlet that show it in a fdf using classes of Adobe. The Adobe jar's name is jFdfTk. The servlet runs ok at port 7777, but when i change to port 80 the fdf doesn't show data. I can't understand why.
    Does anyone have the same problem??
    Can anyone help me??
    Does anyone know why??
    Thanks!

    I see now that I can use the old method of JNDI
    lookup with the 3rd party messaging from a web
    container, I just can't use the java:comp/resource/MQSeries logical JNDI location.
    document: oracle 9ias Container for J2EE,
    Services Guide
    Release 2(9.0.3)
    Aug 2002
    Part No A97690-01
    Chapter 9 Page 9-2
    I am having trouble with this statement;
    The ResourceProvider interface enables you to plug in
    third-party message
    providers for JMS connections. For Oracle JMS, this
    allows EJBs, servlets, and OC4J
    clients to access many different queue
    implementations.
    (OK good so far,)
    With third-party message
    providers, only EJBS can access queue
    implementations. The resources are available
    under java:comp/resource/ as the default JMS
    resources.
    WHAT? I can't do asynchronous messaging from a web
    App to a MDB with a 3rd party JMS implementation?
    What gives?
    Can someone tell me this is not true please

  • Difference between connection pooling and simple connection

    Anybody please tell me what is the Difference between connection pooling and simple connection and also where we define connection pooling and how.
    Thanks
    Please reply soon
    amitindia

    Creating and closing connection to the database is a relatively slow process. Equally connections use database resources so you can't just open as many as you want.
    A connection pool maintains a number of open connections throughout the lifetime of the application. Instead of opening and closing the connections your application just "borrows" them from the pool when they're needed.
    If the pool runs out of connections it will usually create new ones as needed until you reach some predefined upper limit.
    A good connection pool will also manage connections which have failed for any reason, and report code which fails to return connections to the pool (ie connection leaks).
    The number of connections created at startup is referred to as the "low water mark" and the maximum number that the pool will allow to be opened at any given time is the "high water mark". If no connections are available client code will generally block until one is released.
    If by "defined" you mean where can you get a working implementation then your database or application server vendor is likely to provide one. Also the Apache Jakarta Commons includes [url http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/dbcp/]an implementation which you can use with any JDBC driver.
    Dave.

  • How do I use toplink with Spring 2.5 and oc4j 10.1.2?

    Our existing java server environment is limited to Oc4j 10.1.2 due to being tied to Oracle Forms.
    We've added a java 6 jdk to the machine and linked it to a specific container to examine some newer java features since this version of the application server only comes with java 1.4.2.
    Does anyone have some configuration steps for getting toplink essentials and spring to work with oc4j 10.1.2? Even with oc4j 10.1.3 in jdev 10.1.3.4 I'm having problems trying to figure out what needs placed in the persistence.xml file verses what needs placed in the spring-beans.xml file.
    I'm trying to either use the J2SE option of keeping the connection information in the persistence.xml file (which doesn't work) - it tries to connect to //localhost:1521/orcl. If I try to define a datasource within Spring's xml file, I'm not sure how to tie that into the persistence.xml file. Could I use the oc4j 10.1.2 container provided datasource?
    It seems like I'm at a loss as to how to get this working. If you'd like me to post some files, I can do that later on today when I get back to work.
    The configuration that I'm trying to do is based on a modified workspace from an ibm developerworks article with websphere, mixing in the ideas from a JPA with Spring 2.0 article from Mike Keith and Rod Johnson. (That article goes pretty far in the configuration information but never provided an example to download...)
    Any help appreciated.
    Eric (hbg, pa)

    I'm still at a loss with this. Rather than worry about the older version, for now, I just want to see JPA in action. So, I've decided on just running the Spring 2.5.6 petclinic example out of the samples folder. When I try to do this, after only tweaking the web.xml to use the applicationContext-jpa.xml file, the application does not initialize properly. Here's the stack trace I get:

  • Connection Pool and Database Sessions

    Hi,
    Is there any way to use the connection pool or Datasource while connecting to database?If I am using a stateless sesssion bean and using a Data Access layer which just creates a database session to write the persistence toplink objects how I can make use of application server connection pool?
    Thanks,
    Vinod

    Hi,
    Is there any way to use the connection pool or Datasource while connecting to database?If I am using a stateless sesssion bean and using a Data Access layer which just creates a database session to write the persistence toplink objects how I can make use of application server connection pool?Hi Vinod,
    Yes, TopLink allows you to use the app server's connection pooling and transaction services. Chapter 2 of the Oracle9iAS TopLink Foundation Library Guide provides details as do the TopLink examples. The easiest way to set this up is by using the sessions.xml file. The sample XML below is from the file <toplink903>\examples\ias\examples\ejb\sessionbean\sessions.xml. Here we are adding the datasource defined in OC4J and specifying that we are using the OC4J transaction controller also.
    <login>
    <user-name>sa</user-name>
    <password></password>
    <datasource>java:comp/env/jdbc/ejbJTSDataSource</datasource>
    <uses-external-transaction-controller>true</uses-external-transaction-controller>
    <uses-external-connection-pool>true</uses-external-connection-pool>
    </login>
    <external-transaction-controller-class>oracle.toplink.jts.oracle9i.Oracle9iJTSExternalTransactionController</external-transaction-controller-class>
    When using this approach you need to change your TopLink code slightly in the EJB methods:
    a. Acquire the ACTIVE unit of work from the server
    session (again, see the EmployeeSessionEJB code
    example) with something like:
    UnitOfWork uow = clientSession.getActiveUnitOfWork();
    b. Calls to uow.commit() can be ommitted or commented out
    because the EJB will handle this. Note that of course
    the methods you create in the EJB that are using this
    approach must have TX Required (default).
    Hope this helps.

  • Listener EA2: database connection pool and connection revalidation

    Hi all,
    As one can expect from early adopter release there could be some bugs but I can't find any references in forum to my situation:
    * My 11g XE database and listener are starting as windows services when server boots operating system (Windows Server 2003 R2).
    * I configured my web server (unsupported Jetty 9.0.0.M1) to start as windows service when operating system starts.
    * Apex Listener 2.0.0.268.17.05 configured to connect with XE using JDBC thin driver with default settings (initial pool size 3, max statements 10, min connections 1, max connections 10, inactivity timeout 1800, abandoned connection timeout 900)
    * Because web server starts a bit faster than Oracle database when apex connects first time it gets "ORA-12528, TNS:listener: all appropriate instances are blocking new connections" (could be that database still starting but already registered service with listener)
    * From listener.log file I can see that all further connections made from Apex listener succeeds
    * When I try to open any apex page with browser I am getting 404 error and apex listener logs error (*time is 2 days after system startup*):
    2012-11-30 3:56:02 PM oracle.dbtools.common.config.db.DatabaseConfig badConfiguration

    * For some reason apex listener keeps first connection status and won't try to establish new connection if first attempt finished with ORA-12528
    * The same scenario is valid when at time of web server start oracle database/listener is not available - even if database and listener starts and apex successfully establishes further connections all apex pages gets 404 error
    * If I restart web server windows service (while oracle db and listener still running) browser opens apex pages without errors and apex listener does not log any errors
    * I know that I can avoid this error delaying start of web server windows service but it would be nice to have production release 2.x without such bugs

  • Problem with creating Connection pool and JNDI, driver is not detected

    Hi,
    I have an issue with creating Connection Pool and JNDI.
    I'm using:
    - JDK 1.6
    - OS: Linux(ubuntu 8.10)
    - Netbeans IDE 6.5.1
    - Java EE 5.0
    - Apache Tomcat 6.0.18 Its lib directory contains all necessary jar files for Oracle database driver
    - Oracle 11g Enterprise
    My problem is that the Oracle database driver is not detected when I want to create a pool (it works pretty well and is detected without any problem when I create ordinary connection by DriverManager)
    Therefore after running:
    InitialContext ic = new InitialContext();
    Context context = (Context)ic.lookup("java:comp/env");
    DataSource dataSource = (DataSource)context.lookup("jdbc/oracle11g");
    Connection connection = dataSource.getConnection();and right after dataSource.getConnection() I have the following exception:

    , but no solution.
    As many suggest, I also tried to put context directly in the server.xml (instead of my application context) and referencing it by <ResourceLink /> inside my application context but it didn't work and instead it gave me the following message:
    org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create JDBC driver of class '   ' for connect URL 'null'
    Has anyone succeeded in creating a connection pool with JNDI by using Tomcat 6 or higher ? If yes, could kindly explain about the applied method.
    Regards,

    Hello again,
    Finally I managed to run my application also with Tomcat 6.0.18. There was only two lines that had to be modified
    in the context.xml file (the context of my application project and not server's)
    Instead of writing
    <Context antiJARLocking="true" path="/WebApplication2">
        type="javax.sql.DataSource"
        factory="org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.BasicDataSourceFactory"
    </Context>we had to write:
    <Context antiJARLocking="true" path="/WebApplication2">
        type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
        factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
    </Context>- No modification was needed to be done at server level (niether server.xml nor server context.xml)
    - I just added the ojdbc6.jar in $CATALINA_HOME/lib (I didn't even need to add it in WEB-INF/lib of my project)
    - The servlet used to do the test was the same that I presented in my precedent post.
    For those who have encountered my problem and are interested in the format of the web.xml and context.xml
    with Tomcat 6.0, you can find them below:
    Oracle server: Oracle 11g Enterprise
    Tomcat server version: 6.0.18
    Oracle driver: ojdbc.jar
    IDE: Netbeans 6.5.1
    The context.xml file of the web application
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Context antiJARLocking="true" path="/WebApplication2">
        <Resource name="jdbc/oracle11g"
                  type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"
                  factory="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSourceFactory"
                  url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:database01"
                  driverClassName="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
                  userName="scott"
                  password="tiger"
                  auth="Container"
                  maxActive="100"
                  maxIdle="30"
                  maxWait="10000"
                  logAbandoned="true"
                  removeAbandoned="true"
                  removeAbandonedTimeout="60" />
    </Context>The web.xml of my web application
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <web-app version="2.5" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd">

            <res-ref-name>jdbc/oracle11g</res-ref-name>
        </resource-ref>

            <servlet-class>servlets.Servlet1</servlet-class>

            <url-pattern>/Servlet1</url-pattern>
        </servlet-mapping>
        <session-config>
            <session-timeout>
                30
            </session-timeout>
        </session-config>
        <welcome-file-list>
            <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file>
        </welcome-file-list>
    </web-app>Ok, now I'm happy as the original problem is completely solved

  • Apache and Jserv issues - AppsLogin and AppsLocalLogin not working

    Hi,
    I am trying to understand the Apache and Jserv issues
    Home page - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901 - working fine
    This confirms that Apache core module is working fine. Does this confirm about the pls module also ?
    Apps local login - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp - throwing Java Exception
    Request URI:/OA_HTML/AppsLocalLogin.jsp
    Exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    at oracle.apps.fnd.sso.SSOManager.getAppsServletAgent(SSOManager.java:1727)
    at oracle.apps.fnd.sso.SSOManager.getLoginUrl(SSOManager.java:316)
    at oa_html._AppsLocalLogin._jspService(_AppsLocalLogin.java:410)
    at oracle.jsp.runtime.HttpJsp.service(HttpJsp.java:119)
    at oracle.jsp.app.JspApplication.dispatchRequest(JspApplication.java:385)
    at oracle.jsp.JspServlet.doDispatch(JspServlet.java:259)
    at oracle.jsp.JspServlet.internalService(JspServlet.java:178)
    at oracle.jsp.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:148)
    at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:588)
    at org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.processRequest(JServConnection.java:456)
    at org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.run(JServConnection.java:294)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:479)
    Is it related to SSO ? Because error mentions about SSOManager
    But why does AppsLocalLogin need to go thru SSO ?
    Doesn it mean Jserv issues ? I am able to see same message logged in jvm logs ?
    Restarting Apache doesnt help
    Servlet login - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/oa_servlets/AppsLogin - throws Internal Server Erorr
    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    Apache log doesnt show any error
    Servlet test works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/servlets/Hello
    Example Apache JServ Servlet
    Congratulations, ApacheJServ 1.1 is working!
    OAM works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/servlets/weboam/oam/oamLogin - Navigating to SSO page for authentication
    AOL test works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/OA_HTML/jsp/fnd/aoljtest.jsp
    FND_WEB.PING works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/pls/QTCSTG/FND_WEB.PING
    Connection test works - http://11i-tst-02.cisco.com:38901/servlets/oracle.apps.icx.common.ConnectionTest
    So, my question is why AppsLogin and AppsLocalLogin are not working - if servlets / AOL / FND / OAM links are working
    Is there issue with Jserv ?
    Can someone please explain the significance of the above tests
    And which tests need to pass for AppsLogin and AppsLocalLogin to work
    Thanks

    Since all the tests work fine as you stated above, I suggest you do the following:
    - Rerun Autoconfig on all tiers
    - rm -rf $OA_HTML/_pages
    - Bounce Apache

  • How i can connect php and oracle9i ?

    hello am new to php.i have oracle 9i and php and apache.oracle is installed at one system and php inother one at network .when i have at same pc's i connect it.but now it's at different systems how i can connect.plzz tell me complete steps of apache that i will define and next complete process to connect php and oracle .plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    Apache and PHP need to be on the same system. That system also needs either the database or Oracle client libraries like Oracle Instant Client. There are steps for installation of the PHP side on http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/index.html
    There are various Oracle installation notes in the Oracle manuals or software bundles.
