Connect by HTTP-Post

Hi,
am i correct if i think that it is not possible to connect to rwservlet via http-post, only http-get.
And that is the reason i get REP-56048 when i try it?
Thanks.
Regards
Chris

Hi,
thanks for this suggestion. It put my on the right way, because i examined the http-request, sended by the form with paramform=yes.
In my case a report is called with paramters which executes a sql-query on a database.
For this a key is configured in cgicmd, that holds the DB-connection data and takes the other parameters from the url-parameters.
Calling a report per HTTP-Post that doesnt need a database connection was easy, since it didnt need to use the cgicmd-key.
But calling the cgicmd-key didnt work.
The report enginge crashed:
[2012/6/12 11:1:58:807] Exception 50125 (org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: vmcid: SUN minor code: 208 completed: Maybe
     at com.sun.corba.se.internal.iiop.IIOPConnection.purge_calls(IIOPConnection.java:438)

): Interner Fehler org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: vmcid: SUN minor code: 208 completed: Maybe
[2012/6/12 11:1:58:807] Info 56029 (EngineManager:shutdownEngine): Shutting down engine rwEng-0
It turns out that for HTTP-Post not the same URL as for HTTP-GET can be used.
In contrary to GET in case of POST the cgi-cmdkey must be passed in the additional paramter "hidden_run_parameters" to make the HTTP-POST to the cgicmd-key work:
hidden_run_parameters=your_cgicmdkey
It is not needed as the "first paramter" in the URL anymore. Perhaps that is due the fact, that there is no specific order on post parameters (is this true?, sounds correct ;-)
However, i still have the feeling that this is a kind of undocumented hack, as since now, i didnt find any documentation on this.
Has anyone had any expirences with this?
Regards
chris

    Is there any way to limit HTTP posting connections? I know I can limit SAP max conn. in transaction SMQS, but is there any way limiting plain HTTP post?

    Hi,
    If you do not send any payload in the http request you are going to get a http error.
    For your second requirement, There is no any problem, You can use any existent tool, or maybe develop you own program.

  • Where does firefox cache the form parameters to be used in the reload event of a page that was the resposne of a HTTP POST request?

    Suppose there is form in a web page and it submits data in HTTP POST method. After submitting the form, if I reload the page [either by the refresh button or back button; whichever applicable], firefox asks permission to resend the form data by saying "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action...". Now if the user clicks on the resend, firefox resubmits the form data.
    So where does firefox store this from data for such future resending/resubmission?
    Is it possible to retrieve/manipulate those stored form data?

    I thought I'd tried that, as tried lots of other things like encoding URL, but obviously not as this works.
    Thanks for the quick reply.

  • Uploading big files via http post to XDB table

    Hello,
    I ve created a web form for to upload files as blobs to the database using XML DB, DBPS_EPG package and preconfigured DAD.
    The issue is that small files (~10kb) are being uploaded ok, but file which is 100K during http post returns connection reset from the server side.

    Much of what is available on Bittorrent is not legal, beta, or improperly labelled versions. If you want public domain software, see my FAQ*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html#NATIVE
    for search engines of legitimate public domain sites.
    http://www.rbrowser.com/ has a light mode that supports binary without SSH security.
    http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/ has ssh secure FTP.
    Both I find are quick and a lot more reliable than Fetch. I know Fetch used to be the staple FTP program, but it grew too big for my use.

  • How to send HTTP Post to URL (third party software) in JSP/JSPDynpage

    Hello,
    we want to integrate a third party application in our Portal Component (JSPDynpage using JSP and HTMLB). This third party component is called like this:
    http://servername:port/cgi-bin/cgi.exe?request=map&format=html&swldy_ace=GDF&swldy_image_format=p n g&width=525&height=375
    How can we do this in the JSP using HTMLB?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Detlev,
    thanks for your hint regarding the App. Integrator, but it seemn not to be what we want to do: We call a CGI and get a JEPG Image back as request.
    Now we used the java.net.URLConnection to do the HTTP post in the JSPDynpage:
    // send HTTP POST
    try {
      u = new URL("http://server/path/ourcgi.exe");
    } catch(MalformedURLException ex) {
      System.err.println("MalformedURLException");
    // build query sting
    String query = "request=plot&format=jpeg&template_name=......."
    int cl = query.length();
    try {
      // open the connection and prepare it to POST
      URLConnection uc = u.openConnection();
      uc.setDoOutput(true);
      uc.setDoInput(true);
      uc.setAllowUserInteraction(false);
      DataOutputStream dos = new DataOutputStream(uc.getOutputStream());
      dos.writeBytes(query);
      dos.close();
    } catch ...

  • Maximum HTTP posts to "Plain HTTP" adapter

    Hello,
    I am working on some load testing on a development box that we have for a simple synchronous HTTP<>XI<>RFC interface.  I have tested up to around 45 simultaneous users and the XI box starts to reply with 500 Internal Server Errors to the HTTP posts.  Up until that point it processes the messages fine and returns the correct response and 200 OK codes.
    Could someone direct me to the configuration on the XI box for the maximum number of HTTP requests to process or an explanation of why the server starts to drop POSTs?  Thanks for your help!
    Regards,
    Anthony Cesaro

    Hi,
    have a look at those two parameters from the XI profile:
    icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB
    Maximum size of HTTP request accepted by ICM
    and
    connection timeout:
    icm/server_port_<xx>

  • Http post from an application with file attachment

    Hi ! I didn't know where else to post this message...
    I'm trying to make a HTTP POST from an application and upload a file with it. I have no problems with the posting, just that I haven't got any ideas how to get the file uploaded as well. I've been reading loads of examples regarding the topic, and searching older posts the forum here, without any help.
    Here's the method i'm using:
                   // open connections
                  URL url = new URL ("TheURL");
                   URLConnection urlConn = url.openConnection();
                              // We do input & output, without caching
                   urlConn.setDoInput (true);
                   urlConn.setDoOutput (true);
                   urlConn.setUseCaches (false);
                              // multipart/form-data because we want to upload a file
                     urlConn.setRequestProperty ("Content-Type", "multipart/form-data");
                  // Open output stream
                     DataOutputStream printout = new DataOutputStream (urlConn.getOutputStream ());
                  // Set the actual content
                     String content = "upfile=" + System.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\file.ext&";
                       content += "other_key-value_pairs";
                  // write the data to stream, and flush it.
                     printout.writeBytes (URLEncoder.encode(content));
                   printout.flush ();
                   printout.close ();
                   // Get the response.
                     DataInputStream input = new DataInputStream (urlConn.getInputStream());
                   FileOutputStream fos=new FileOutputStream("postto.txt");
                   String str;
                     BufferedReader bufr = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(input));
                  // Write response to outputfile
                     while (null != ((str = bufr.readLine()))) {
                         if (str.length() >0) {
                         fos.write(str.getBytes());
                         fos.write(new String("\n").getBytes());
                   input.close ();Now, the response here I get from the url i'm posting to is "Failure, no data-file". I've tried many diff methods of writing the file to the stream, but always get the same result.
    I need to file attached like it would be when using a HTML form's <input type="file">.
    Please help ! This is getting really urgent !

    String content = "upfile=" + System.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\file.ext&";
    content += "other_key-value_pairs";
    printout.writeBytes (URLEncoder.encode(content));
    printout.flush ();
    printout.close ();Actually, what this does is create a request like:
    GET /path/to/file/script.language?upfile=/home/user/file.ext&other=params HTTP/1.1
    Content-Type: multipart/form-data
    -- And other HTTP params --
    The file is not actually appended to the request.
    I really don't know how Java handles the file upload, but you could do it by hand, like so:
    public static void doFileUpload(String url, String filename, Hashtable params) throws IOException {
        // Construct the request
        String boundary = "----------------------mUlTiPaRtBoUnDaRy";
        String request_head = "POST " + url + " HTTP/1.0\r\n" +
                                         "Content-type: multipart/form-data; boundary=" + boundary + "\r\n";
        String request_body = boundary + "\r\n\r\nContent-disposition: form-data; name=\"upload\"" +
                                         "\r\n\r\n";
        BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream(filename)));
        int b = -1;
        while((b = in.read()) != -1) {
             request_body += (char)b;
        in.close();
        Enumeration keys = params.keys();
        while(keys.hasMoreElements()) {
            String key = keys.nextElement();
            requst_body += "\r\n" + boundary + "\r\n\r\nContent-type: form-data; name=\"key\"\r\n" +
                                    (String)params.get(key);
        request_body += "\r\n" + boundary + "--\r\n";
        int length = request_head.length() + request_body.length() + "Content-length: \r\n";
        String req_length = "Content-length: " + (length + new String("" + length).length()) + "\r\n";
        Socket socket = new Socket(url,80);
        PrintStream stream = socket.getOutputStream();
        stream.print(request_head + req_length + req_body);
        // And now an option to read the response, I will omit that...
    }Note: I have not tested this code, just wrote it up out of memory. If it does not work, it will propably need some small fixes.

  • HTTPS Post with XI

    Hi mates,
    I've a scenario that complains a RFC call to XI and then, XI makes a HTTPS Post on a specific server.
    I've created a HTTP Destination (type G) on SM59, set it to use SSL at Logon & Security tab, using the DFAULT ssl client(that i've created at STRUST transaction).
    The problem is when i try to TEST the connection, an successful textless message appears in the bottom and nothing happens! The server that will receive the request doesn't receive nothing when it occurs.
    I've debugged the testbutton of SM59 and i found that the problem occurs in cl_http_client, in the method IF_HTTP_CLIENT~RECEIVE, and the exception is http_communication_failure.
    Somebody faced the same problem?
    Is the Destinations created on the J2EE Admin Service avaliable to my XI Communication Channel?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Bruno,
    Try using the SOAP adapater instead of the plain HTTP way.

  • Safari 5.1.5 connects to https but not to http

    On my iMac, running Mac OSX 10.6.8, with Safari 5.1.5, I can connect to https (SSL) sites, but not to http (non-SSL) sites.

    1. The changes to your configuration suggested here should be considered provisional; they may not solve your problem, or they may remove functionality that you find useful. If a third-party system modification that you want to keep is causing the problem, seek help from its developer.
    2. WARNING: Back up all data now if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to its present state, even if it becomes unbootable. If you’re not sure you can do that, STOP — DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING. If you’re dissatisfied with the results of the procedure suggested below, restore from your backup. I will not be responsible for the consequences, and I will not be able to help, if you ignore this warning.
    3. You should either remove or update the following system modification(s), if an update is available from the developer:
    N/A
    and definitely remove at least the following:
    † Symantec Internet Security
    † Trend Micro Security
    4. Whatever you remove must be removed completely, and (unless otherwise specified in this message) the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the third-party developers, or to follow their instructions. In some cases it may be necessary to re-download or even reinstall the software in order to get rid of it. I can't be more specific, because I don't install such things myself. Please do your own research.
    Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, email the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
    Again, please don't ask me to do this research for you. You can do it better than I can, because I haven't installed the product and I may not even know what it is.
    If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
    WARNING: Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.
    5. I recommend that you never reinstall the modifications marked with a dagger (†) above, if any. If your problem is resolved after uninstalling all the above modifications and rebooting, but you still want to use some of those not marked with a dagger, you can experiment with putting them back, one at a time, testing carefully after each step. Keep in mind that system modifications may be incompatible with each other or with future OS X updates, so it may not be clear which one is at fault.
    6. If you still have problems after making the suggested changes and rebooting, post again. Remember: if you don’t like the results of this procedure, you can undo it by restoring from the last backup you made before you started.

  • "HTTP Post Failed" when trying to unlock 6212 Clas...

    Hi,
    Here is my problem:
    When I run the UnlockMidlet applet on 3 different 6212 Classic phones, it fails with the error message: "HTTP Post Failed".
    I have successfully unlocked 16 of these phones in the past 10 months following the exact same procedure.
    The provider is T-Mobile.
    When I launch the applet, it says, "Connecting to server", then "Connected to server" and then displays the error message mentionned above.
    Could somebody help me figure out if:
    1. The Nokia server is down,
    2. T-Mobile is somehow blocking the connection to the unlocking server?
    The T-mobile access point name is epc.tmobile.com if it makes any difference.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't know why it stopped working.
    Thanks.

    It's working today! All 3 phones unlocked without problems.
    I am guessing the Nokia service was down for the last couple of days. I wish I knew where to look to find out if it's up or not.

  • HTTP post data from the Oracle database to another web server

    Hi ,
    I have searched the forum and the net on this. And yes I have followed the links
    http://awads.net/wp/2005/11/30/http-post-from-inside-oracle/
    http://manib.wordpress.com/2007/12/03/utl_http/
    and Eddie Awad's Blog on the same topic. I was successful in calling the servlet but I keep getting errors.
    I am using Oracle 10 g and My servlet is part of a ADF BC JSF application.
    My requirement is that I have blob table in another DB and our Oracle Forms application based on another DB has to view the documents . Viewing blobs over dblinks is not possible. So Option 1 is to call a procedure passing the doc_blob_id parameter and call the web server passing the parameters.
    The errors I am getting is:
    First the parameters passed returned null. and
    2. Since my servlet directly downloads the document on the response outputStream, gives this error.
    'com.evermind.server.http.HttpIOException: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine'
    Any help please. I am running out of time.
    Thanks

    My requirement is that I have blob table in another DB and our Oracle Forms application based on another DB has to view the documents . Viewing blobs over dblinks is not possible. Incorrect. You can use remote LOBs via a database link. However, you cannot use a local LOB variable (called a LOB <i>locator</i>) to reference a remote LOB. A LOB variable/locator is a pointer - that pointer cannot reference a LOB that resides on a remote server. So simply do not use a LOB variable locally as it cannot reference a remote LOB.
    Instead provide a remote interface that can deal with that LOB remotely, dereference that pointer on the remote system, and pass the actual contents being pointed at, to the local database.
    The following demonstrates the basic approach. How one designs and implements the actual remote interface, need to be decided taking existing requirements into consideration. I simply used a very basic wrapper function.

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> The concern is the size of the LOB. It does not always make sense to access the entire LOB in the database. What if that LOB is a 100GB in size? Irrespective of how you do it, selecting that LOB column from that table will require a 100GB of data to be transferred from the database to your client.
    So you need to decide WHY you want the LOB on the client (which will be the local PL/SQL code in case of dealing with a LOB on a remote database)? Do you need the entire LOB? Do you need a specific piece from it? Do you need the database to first parse that LOB into a more structured data struct and then pass specific information from that struct to you? Etc.
    The bottom line however is that you can use remote LOBs. Simply that you cannot use a local pointer variable to point and dereference a remote LOB.

  • Http Post to XI Test Tool in Java?

    I have been able to use the HTML test tool shared on SDN for my scenarios to date, but I have been <u>also</u> trying to write an http post program in java.  For some reason the post never makes it to XI.  Does anyone have a sample they will share or notice any problems with this code?
    Thanks.

  • Beginner question: support to HTTP POST om Oracle AS

    Hi!
    I don't know if this is a suitable forum but since i use JDeveloper and Oracle BPEL I'll try my luck here :).
    I have a Java web application built in JDeveloper and a couple of BPEL processes.
    In these processes I use Java embedding (a piece of Java code) that opens a connection to a given URL and post a XML message to this URL. I didn't have much problems creating these processes.
    Now I have to provide a support to HTTP POST on my side. Since web application and services development are quite new to me I hope someone can point me the right way to do this. The requirements I have are: I can have a single URL to which the http POSTs will be issued.
    If I understand correctly I cant use a web service since I have to enable different types of XML posts. What are my options? Can I create some kind of listener for http POSTs? Can I create a jspx that will 'wait' for http posts and than call some of mine BPEL processes? Is there a way to create a BPEL process that 'waits' for http POSTs? Are there other options.
    I'd really appreciate any pointers on this.
    Regards,
    BB.

    Frank,
    I've tried creating a Servlet listener that implements HttpSessionListener interface. Now I have two methods, sessionCreated and sessionDestroyed but I don't know where to go next. I can't find any documentation on this issue yet.
    Should I create a jspx page with form node that has method attribute set to POST or maybe I don't even need a web page? I already have a login page that has a form with method set to POSt, will this pose any kind of troubles for me?
    I apologize for any stupid questions but as I said I have no experience in doing this and las couple of days I'm searching and reading different documentation on this topic so any more pointers would be appreciated.
