Connect Firebird Database and coding in  Action Script

Hello Friends
I am new for Flex. I want to ask some questions. I hope i will get right answers as soon as possible.
Thanks to all in advance.
I have Firebird database. I want to create one desktop application and i want to store data in Firebird database but i don't know how to connect firebird database?
Also i don't want to use .net or php or any other language. Is it possible to connect firebird database using action script? can i do insert, update and delete functionality or firebird database using action script?
Plz reply me and if you have links or code then plz send me . If you want to send email me the send on [email protected]

Yes,  atleast NOT with core ActionScript3.0.
If you are developing Flex Web Application then you must have to use PHP, .NET, JAVA
If it's an AIR app then some apecial packages are provided to communicate with database and that too with very limited scope. If you need more data intensive operation then again you have to use other language.

  • Connect to database and write query statements in the *****Impl.java??

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/vohra-jdev-xmlpub.html
    I used the above link to create XML's and from there a formatted report of data from the database. I accomplish this by connecting to the database inside the XMLPublisher.java file. I also have my query hard-coded inside the DataTemplate.xml to extract the info from the database. This limits my ability on what the user can accomplish with the system.
    Is it possible to run my reports based on an iterator within Jdeveloper, as opposed to having to manually enter the query and connect to the database within the XMLPublisher.java file and the template.xml? ..Possibly connecting to the database and and writing queries in the *****impl.java?
    Thanks.

    Rather than inventing your own demi-donkeyed solution I recommend you consider using Oracle's Fine-Grained Auditing which does precisely this.

  • User_exit - connect to database and ora -3114

    Hello All,
    I am trying to connect to oracle database using an user_exit and not the built in LOGON function .
    the user_exit - can connect to the DB ( I see a connection in v$session) , but when the form tries to perform any other action (like simple select ) i get a ora-3114 - not connected to oracle .
    how ever if on the logon trigger instead of using the user_exit i use the built in logon - all is working fine.
    my conclusion is that the user_exit , although connects to the oracle DB somehow does not "populate" the connection to the forms
    how come ?
    why ?
    any way to solve this issues ?
    thanks
    S.
    p.s.
    the reason i am trying to perform that is because the built in logon function, can not accept passwords which contains the @ sign .

    USER_EXIT is used to call a function outside Forms. So, it creates a separate connection to the database. Your Forms session still has no connection.
    I don't think there is any other way to connect Forms to the database than the LOGON built-in.

  • How can I build mobile application , connect with database and can show its working by simulator

    Dear, I want to build mobile application.
    Actually, my application has 2 parts. one is webbased application.
    Second part is mobile bases.
    instructor will take interview of the students. he will enters marks by mobile and then by using BT, it will be sent to webbased part and saved in mysql database.

    Actually, the mobile part of your question is irrelevant to the central issue of building an application that will allow:
    1.  Collecting information from a student
    2.  Entering that information into a database
    To do this, you would build a form page that allows you to input the desired information. When that form is submitted, validate the information and enter it into a database.
    Once you have this working, format the form page so that it displays well on mobile devices.
    To use this you would browse to the form page on your mobile device browser, input the information, and submit it.
    Is that what you want?

      }How do i merge these two together so that a catalogItem is created by connecting to the database and uses the select statement?? If any one can help me here i would be really grateful as i am having real trouble with this.

    Below is what i have come up with (I cut out the code that just gets in the way for this post, eg the connect to database and import statements) My problem is this would only work once has i need to add the item to the array addedItem in the first for loop, can anybody help me with this has i have tried a number of ways but can't get it to compile.

  • Action script 2 not working

    New to Flash CS4, but could do basic button stuff like this in Flash MX 2004. (Haven't been doing anything with Flash in the meantime, but now have CS4 and am determined to get back into it.)
    I chose Action script 2 when starting, and in the publish settings. Made some very simple buttons and used the action script assistant but cannot figure out why they are not working. i keep going around and around and getting nowhere.
    would someone please take a look and advise? I am STUCK.
    Please?
    the file is too big to attach, but if anybody is willing to help, i'll share the file via my iDisk. Thanks so much.

    I have a few suggestions for you -- not that you asked, but hey it is a free forum with volunteers, so you get what you get!
    First if you really don't know AS2 all that well, but you want to get into coding I would suggest starting with AS3. It is the future and if you have to learn new stuff it might as well be the newest, new stuff. AS3 is the future of Actionscript and Flash. It is a little more complex in some respects, but in many others it isn't that much more difficult and it really helps if you haven't learned all kinds of "bad" ideas from how AS2 was....
    Next, if you decide to stick with AS2, I would suggest learning the latest ways of doing stuff in AS2. Using the on(event) type of coding is really old and it won't serve you well if you want to advance very far with your coding. Here is a great article on the transition to the newer style and why it is a good idea:
    http://www.quip.net/blog/2006/flash/museum-pieces-on-and-onclipevent
    After that, consider ditching buttons all together. They are really twitchy and strange and most people I know gave them up when movieclips could have button events attached to them.
    Finally on the issue of Scenes, they are a great way for timeline animators to organize their content. And they are great when everything is just played back to back. In fact that is what happens to scenes, when you publish the timelines are strung together in sequence and then the "scenes" are deleted. The whole thing becomes just one big long timeline. The problems come in when you start using code to move the playhead around. The documentation seems pretty straight forward and it should work, but there are just several little tricky things where it doesn't work. Sounds can cause problems too. So if you plan to use code I always recommend that you use movieclips to organize your "scenes" and not the actual scenes....

  • Error during multiple connection to database.

    Hi all,
    We use software which connects to database and runs business process. Today I’ve noticed that user cant connect to database via this software from several hosts. I got error code ORA-20000. I think user has some limitation(in profile) to run software from several hosts(IP addresses) at the one time. Can i change this parameter?

    20000, 00000, "%s"

    So the error is raised by the application, not the rdbms. Was there any text associated with the message giving any indication what it was for? Do you have access to the PL/SQL that raised the error to see what kind of event could trigger it?
    You think the user has a limitation in their profile, and you want to know if you can change it. Have you looked at a profile to see if there are any properties that support your thesis?

  • How to find out number of connections to database?

    Hi,
    How can I find number of connections connected to the database 4 hours ago. For examply, if current time is 5PM and I want to see total number of connections connected to database (and from what user?) in between 1 and 2 PM, is there a way to find that out?
    I see v$session has a column MACHINE from which I can use count function to check the # of concurrent connections but I am not sure how to check the # of connections that happend few hours ago. Any suggestions?

    Hi Nitin
    Thanks for the helpful! With your point I'm now Pro! Great thanks.
    By the way have your seen that?
    Files such as LISTENER.ORA, TNSNAMES.ORA, SQLNET.ORA, if configured manually, or copied and edited from earlier releases of Oracle Database may have record attributes that are incompatible with Oracle Database 10g release 2. The software cannot read such files. The required record format is stream_lf and the record attributes are carriage_control and carriage_return.
    This may result in:
    Inability to start the listener
    Services not registered with the listener
    Inability to connect to other databases
    ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
    Run the following command on each file affected:
    $ DIR/FULL filename
    An output similar to the following may be displayed:
    Record format: Variable length, maximum 255 bytes
    Record attributes: Carriage return carriage control
    If the output includes the preceding entries, then run the following command:
    $ CONVERT/FDL=SYS$INPUT filename filename
    RECORD
    CARRIAGE_CONTROL CARRIAGE_RETURN
    FORMAT STREAM_LF
    ^Z
    Otherwise herewith an interesting metalink note. Doc ID:      Note:437597.1

    Hope this will also help you...

  • Generate query  at a time &  connect  two database ?

    Hi
    Could u help me? it is necessary  that
    I have  two database ( RSHPL,RSPL)  and both data base have  same table name and same fieldname (Table Name :-OITM, Fieldname :ONHAND ,pk- ITEMcode,)
    At first I tell u what I want?
    I want to generate query  at a time &  connect  two database and same table name(OITM)  to select the TOTAL VALUE of this  field(ONHAND) and pk-key is Itemcode.
    Is it Possible? If  Possible  plz  write this query and send me.

    Hi,
    I don't think its possible to write a query from within SAP that allows you to get data from another SAP database.
    I have used SQL Reporting Services to report on data from multiple databases, and this works very well for many of my clients.  It depends on what you want to do with the data, do you need to display it on the screen in SAP and it to a field or will a report suffice?

    Go to System Administration
    -> System Configuration
    -> System Landscape
    -> select a Folder where you want to store your system object
    -> right click -> New System
    -> in the wizard, select JDBC System
    -> enter values
    -> edit
    Then fill in the correct values as stated here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/84/d5df3df2ad685ae10000000a11405a/frameset.htm
    Then assign an Alias and enter some usermapping data for the system.
    You then can use the ConnectorService to get a native sql connection and fire statements. I'm sure you can find some examples here.

  • What are the most resource intensive Photoshop tutorials or Action Scripts

    I'm trying to benchmark some RAM on a machine, and was planning on using Photoshop as a portion of the real world tests. So I was wondering what some of the most resourse intensive, yet realistic and common things to do are.
    Alternatively, perhaps somebody knows of some highly complex tutorials I can follow along to and create a Action script myself. I just don't want my tests to be "Opened random image, doubled size, rotated 12-degreese, apply filter, bla bla bla".
    I've been googling around a bit but nothing really caught my eye. I'd rather hear from real people than read through a bunch of "100 best photoshop Action scripts" all day, yaknow?
    Cheers

  • Basic connection to database

    Hello all
    I want to connect my Java code with a database which contents UserID, password and host name. But I don't know how to set a driver name and how to use Tomcat. I use MySQL to create the database. Sorry I have just started with Java for 1 month so there are a lot of thing I dont know. Could you explain clearly. Thank you all very much.

    Learning how to connect to databases and using Tomcat are two very different things. Rather than swallow the whole problem at once, see if you can make a POJO connect to a database first. Then learn how to deploy a servlet in Tomcat. Once you master both of those you can write a servlet that will instantiate your already-working POJO database object and you're done.
