  • Connect 7.3.4 with sqlserver

I need to connect oracle database 7.3.4 with sqlserver to make select, insert or updates. Somebody can help me?

You can try the Heterogeneous Connectivity forum, but I think with 7.3.4 you are going to be out of luck depending of the version of SQL Server.
You try going from SQL Server to Oracle using an Oracle ODBC connection.

    Hi Karthikeyan,
This is not the issue at all. I can open the management studio by the same login id and password and also i can make the database jdbc connection from plain java file.
It does not give me any problem by them.
I'm unable to find the actual problem. May be i'm missing something in connection pooling.
    Please help.

  • Connecting to a SQLServer 2000 DataSource

    Hi all,
I'm trying to connect to a SQLServer datasource using the following code:
    String dsName = "java:comp/env/jdbc/" + user.getRole();
DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup(dsName); The dsName ends up as: java:comp/env/jdbc/dos-issues-riinput.
But this fails with a NamingException.
However, if I do this code:
    String dsName2 = "/jdbc/" + user.getRole();
DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup(dsName); The dsName comes out as jdbc/dos-issues-riinput and it works with a "Deprecated" warning.
My question is what is the correct way to use a datasource? In all the example I have seen they use the java:comp/env prefix but this doesn't seem to work!
    Thanks for any help offered,
    Illu

Yes, the datasources exist for each role.
It seems odd to me too, but when the datasource name is:
java:comp/env/jdbc/dos-issues-riinputIt fails, and when it is:
jdbc/dos-issues-riinputIt works, albeit with a deprecated warning... It seems to me that the prefix is the only thing that is different.
Here is an example of one of the datasource references in my deployment descriptor, should this have the prefix "java:comp/env/" also, perhaps?
    <resource-ref>
         <res-ref-name>jdbc/dos-issues-cpview</res-ref-name>
         <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
         <res-auth>Application</res-auth>
         <res-sharing-scope>Unshareable</res-sharing-scope>
</resource-ref>The jndi names in the App Server are also listed without the prefix as, for example: jdbc/dos-issues-riinput

  • Connection JDeveloper to Oracle 8i

How to make a connection in Jdeveloper 3.0 to Oracle Personal 8i local Database on a Windows 98 Machine.
Oracle Database 8.1.5 and Jdeveloper 3.0 are in the same computer Win/98.
Which JDBC Driver and connection method must be used?
I need a complete explanation, please.
    Thanks.

    Hello OTN Team
I just installed Personal Oracle 8i for Windows 98 with the typical
instalation option. I want to show a software prototipe and so I need to know
how I can connect many develop tools running in the same PC. After install
Personal Oracle 8i I can start a session in SQLPlus with many users (internal,
scott, system, etc), but I can't connect to the database with other programs
like Forms 4.5, procedure builder or JDeveloper 3.0, running in the same PC.
Perhaps to connect Forms 4.5 with Personal Oracle 8i and to connect JDeveloper
3.0 between to diferent themes (Yes, I Know JDeveloper 3.0 is designed for
Windows NT). Wherever, I really need to know the way to get the connection.
Remember, Personal Oracle 8i and the Development tools are running in the same
    PC.
    Thanks for your help... !!

  • Issue with configuring Hyperion HUB 7.1.2 with SQLSERVER 2005

    Hello Experts,
One of my customer has an issue with configuring Hyperion HUB 7.1.2 with SQLSERVER 2005.
"We are trying to configure the SQL server 2005 database with Hyperion hub and we are unable to get the cofiguration completed. We suspect the driver class (hyperion.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver) used in the domain.xml (path \Hyperion\HyperionHub\7.2.1\deployments\Tomcat\4.1.30\) is not helping to connect with sql server 2005. We would appreciate if you can provide new driver class which we can included while deploying the app under the web server."
    Please suggest. Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Sonu

    Hi
Please redeploy only the Web Server under shared service. It has to be redeployed once EPMA and others are configured.
    Thanks

  • Connect java with SQL Server

    Hello everybody,
I have created a java program in JBuilder9 and i have connected it with Access 2003.
I want to connect the program with SQLServer 2000.
    How can i do it?
    Thanks in advance!

You can either find a JDBC driver to directly connect to SQL Server or set up a DSN to SQL Server Database through ODBC and use the JDBC-ODBC bridge As you may have done when connecting to Access Database
