Connected Mbox to Logic Exp 8, makes repeating Beeping noise

I connected my Mbox as audio interface, to my new version of Logic Express 8.  It shows up as Mbox 'demo', and there is now a beep sound that repeats every 30 seconds. What needs done to fix this?
(I have not used the Mbox with this computer before. This newer computer is a Mac Powerbook OSX 10.7.5. I've used the Mbox only with my previous mac g4 to run interface with Protools which I've used for 7 years now with no issue.)
It interacted fine with the Logic software and recorded the audio in the test I just did nicely, Audio is good and everything. Just need to get it out of demo mode and stop the beeping sound and I'm up and running.

This sounds very odd.  Have you tried using Mbox with GarageBand or some other DAW?  Have you updated your Mbox driver?  http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/download/Mbox-Drivers

  • Grey screen and makes a beeping noise...

    Hi,
My ipod nano seems to have went on the blink. It jusat comes up with a grey screen and when I try to do the toggle and two buttons at the same time it shuts down but then when it comes back on makes a beeping noise and reverts back to the grey screen.
    Can anyone help please?!?

Sometimes this is a result of a bad USB cable.  Try plugging the iPod in with a different USB sync cable to rule out the possibility of a damaged/faulty USB cable.
Have you tried other USB ports as well?

  • My macbook pro makes erratic beeping noises

My macbook pro makes a distinctive, 3 note beeping noise. It repeats at uneven intervals. I went to Console App and saw the following messages repeated at the exact times these beeps happened, so I imagine they are related. I just don't know what these messages mean, nor how to fix them. Can anyone help?

  • I've put my phone on silent and when it rings it's silent and doesn't vibrate which is what I want, but when I get a text it makes a beep noise but I want this to be silent too. How can I make it silent? Is there a way to do it without using the DND?

I want my phone to be completely silent. If I flick it on to wilent it doesn't vobrate when it rings which is great and it doesn't vibrate when a message comes through. However, it does beep when a text comes through which I don't want, plus I don't know why it beeps as that isn't my normal text tone anyway. But I just want it to be silent.  I'm not too keen to use the DND function if I dont have too.

Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:

If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected (or the device was never connected to a computer) you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:

  • Why does my mac randomly make a beeping noise

My mac randomly goes thunk, thunk, for no apparent reason. What's up with that?

The mid 2011 MacBook Air fans are pretty quiet but not silent and since they are the only mechanical decice you'll hear - there's no hard drive or DVD drive to make noise - it is possible that what you hear is normal. On the other hand, fans can go bad - bearings fail and dust an make the blades become unbalanced. None of us can help - you'll need to take the computer to a repair center or Apple Store and let an Apple repair person determine if the fans need replacing or not. If so, your warranty will cover the cost.

  • My macbook isn't powering up and makes a beeping noise in time with the sleep light

Hi There I hope someone can help!!!
I had disconnected the power cable and left the MacBook in sleep mode with the lid shut. When I now go to open my MacBook up, and wait for my system to resume from where I left off the screen doesn't on and the sleep light goes off. when I close the lid the sleep light goes back on as if it is in sleep mode but the same happens when I open it again, no power to the screen.
I order to try get my MacBook working again I tried holding down the power button and switching it back on again but the MacBook now looks as if it is going to power up but the sleep light comes on for about 3 secs and then beeps, then every 4-5 secs constantly the MacBook beeps once in time with the sleep light (to note the sleep light is not following its usual fade on fade off rhythm).
I have tried resetting the SMC using the shift command control option and power button (also this is the only way to stop the beeping and flashing) and when you try and switch on the MacBook if you just press the power button it just follows the same beep with sleep light routine, but if you hold the power button in then the sleep light then flashes quickly about 4-6 times and then starts to beep in time with the flash again.
I will also add I have not reconfigured anything or added any RAM to my MacBook it is still on the standard (manufacturing) configuration as I have been looking about for anyone with similar issues and the main question back seems to be have you changed the RAM, I have also tried resetting teh RAM and the proble still persists.
If someone can help it would be awesome!

  • IPad makes random beeping noise

the New iPad started making a weird beeping noise at random intervals. It started a few weeks after buying it. Its been going on for more than a month now and its frustrating not knowing where it is coming from or why. the sound isn't even one of the options in the settings-->general-->sounds. there are two notes, the first one lower in pitch than second one.
there doesnt seem to be a pattern to it. no dialog box comes up. it can happen when the iPad is being used or when it is asleep (with Smartcover or without Smartcover). I tried looking at the notifications panel and the sounds but there was nothing there. (white iPad with WiFi - no 3G)
Any ideas what it can be?
    Thanks!

Did you try to reset the iPad by holding the sleep and home button for about 10min, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data doing a reset.
If this does not work, set it up as new device, explained in this article:

  • Does anyone have a new ONT unit that does not make a beeping sound if you unplug the battery?

    Hi everyone,
Anyone here that have a Verizon FiOS ONT unit that doesn't beep when you unplug the battery?
Apparently the new unit alarm noise is supposed to turn off when you remove the battery.
    FiOS ONT Battery
I have an older model that continuously beeps if the battery is bad and if it's unplug.  Basically, the box demands a new battery.
I called Verizon and asked them to install a new ONT Battery box because I believe the new one won't beep if the battery is unplug via their instructions.  They are coming in a couple of days.
I just want some confirmation from users that the new box doesn't make the beeping noise if the battery is unplug.

You can now opt out of the battery at the time of install, if you do then the tech should disable the alarm at that time. Otherwise you can disable the alarm by removing the batter and THEN rebooting the system by unplugging the power supply while the battery is unplugged. you plug it back in and the system reboots and it should recognize there is no battery upon reboot and then it should not beep anymore. If it does still beep then yeah your going to need that dispatch.

  • Macbook Won't Boot, Makes Quiet Beeps

My friend's Macbook 2.0ghz will only go to the gray screen with the apple, and occasionally make long beeping noises. One thing I noticed is that the optical drive doesn't make its normal startup sound. I booted with an external hard drive and it worked fine. However, the main HD also shows up, so it means that it's not dead?
I've ran TechTool Deluxe on it and it has failed the Directory Scan and the Volume Structure test. Furthermore, TTD can't repair it. Do you guys think it's a dead hard drive? Thanks!

    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Boot from the OS X Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger or Leopard.)
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (only required for Intel Macs) then click on the OK button. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
If the SMART status is not "Verified" then the drive needs replacing. If the above procedure does not work then the drive needs replacing.

  • My mac book air makes 3 beeping sounds

my macbook air is making 3 beeping sounds and has a black screen. thisnhas happened before and i got a new hardware installed. how do i make the beeping noises stop? i want to avoid spending money again to get this fixed, please help

What have you installed on the Mac? 3 beeps indicates that memory is defective. As the memory on a MacBook Air is soldered, the only solution is to take the computer to an Apple Store or reseller. First, try to remove that hardware that you have installed

  • Lenova Think pad makes 8 beeps and screen wont turn on

I have a black lenova thinkpad laptop and once in a while when i turn on the laptop, it makes 8 beeping noises and the screen wont turn on at all but it sounds like the laptop is on. I have tried fixing this by keeping the laptop in the fridge for a day because i think it was becaue it was over heated. Once i take it out, it works perfectly fine. But when it happens again it eally gets on my nerves and it sometimes happens at poor times when i actually NEED to use my laptop. This has happened probably over 12 times now. I have no idea how laptops work or what the different parts of them are called. So if there is a solution, please explain it in a simple manner. Thank you!

    Hello and welcome,
Please tell us what model laptop you have.  The Hardware Maintenance Manual for you laptop probably has a "beep code" section that may help narrow down the situation.
For example. if a T420 emits One short beep, pause, three short beeps, pause, three
more short beeps, and one short beep. It can be a memory module or the system board.
The beep codes may be common to all ThinkPads (I'm not sure...) but it would be good to look up the documentation specific to your machine.
    Z.
