Connecting apple tv2 to a projector, but need to use optical from apple tv to connect to something, to get sound.. What do I buy
Ive got an apple tv, and a new hd projecter. I've now got a huge lovely picture on the wall, but I've zero sound.... The projector has no output for sound, and is conected by hdmi...which leaves me with one option. Using the optical out from apple tv, now i have no idea. Will this optical output work when hdmi is sending sound to projector ? What I need is the best option to use optical out.. I would have prefered a simple phono out, and then I can plug into a big active speaker im using in the room, I owne nothing with optical connections... So what do buy ? Ric
Ok, I will ask the question in another way... My apple tv has one hdmi, and it goes to my hd projecter.. But projecter has no speakers, and as a result I've no sound at the moment. I am looking for a clear direction to go in, to solve lack the of any sound.. My only option seems to be, using the optical out from the apple tv.. I don't have any equipment with this conecter. And I've never used optical before.. If i buy an, optical to twin phono converter and then I can plug into a large powered speaker I've got in my living room. And I will have big sound easily..?? Do I have any other reasonable options for optical enabled speakers, or AirPlay speakers or something simple I'm not aware of that will give me sound easily.. I don't want a messy 5:1 system, my house is very tidy, and I want to keep it that way. . Only having this optical out is frustrating, and I need to get my head round the options I have. Anyone understand from experience how to use the optical apple tv out. Also, not using anything but apple tv, no dvds, or tv , just apple tv and my ipad.. Is very quiet in my home right now though. What happens when you try to download those apps ? You haven't got an app age restriction set in Settings > General > Restrictions on your iPad ? If you are getting an error message then what does it say ?

Hi! In order to connect a macbook pro to a projector you will need to purchase this cable and attack it to the cable from the projector. This way you have a connector that can be plugged into your computer:

If you already own this cable and are having problems mirroring the display from your computer on the projector screen, go to system preferences>displays and then hit arrangement tab (note: this will only appear if the projector or external monitor is attached) and then hit the checkbox that says mirror display.

Using windows 8 - receive message "ipod detected but cannot be identified properly" when connecting ipod nano 7th gen. Have unisntalled and reinstalled itunes from apple site as advised with no luck. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it please?

my MAc Book PRO 13" Retina display will not update. It crashes every time I try to do an update. I have sent in the information on each update but so far nothing back from Apple. Also it does not matter what I am trying to update, the operating system, and application, each caused the same crash. This mac book is less than a month old.
That is the highest you will be able to go with 3g. You need 3gs or 4 to go any higher (multi processors and more memory needed). Version 4.2.1 marks the end of your updates for that device.

The No Service means there is a problem with cellular service. You mention wifi in your title. Which is it you are having trouble with? What happens when you switch on and off as you state in your post? Are you saying that wifi does not connect while at home either?

its not a question, but i just hope someone from apple can read this, i just wish you can make a card just like itunes card, for ipad wi-fi card. would be convenience.

But returning to your proposal ... Apple does not sell any of the "wifi" connections. It would be up to providers of service to sell giftcards, and perhaps Boingo or some of other airport-commercial WiFi firms do. I can't think of any other place I've been asked to pay for WiFi.
Now Verizon and AT&T, as well as other providers in other countries, could sell Gift Cards... and again, perhaps they do, but you'll have to check with them or make the suggestions there. It's really not an Apple issue, as they don't sell or provide any connections, just the hardware to make them. -

I have a couple of troubleshooting steps for you to try to resolve this issue. First, you should try closing the app according to the instructions found on this website, which is a troubleshooting assistant for the iPad:

I'm using same apple id for my ipad & ipod but after start using the same apple id on my ipad, i can't update my free software downloaded on both, it's showing "YOU CAN NOT UPDATE THIS SOFTWARE SINCE YOU HAVE NOT OWNED THE MAJOR VERSION OF THIS SOFTWARE" so how i can update my softwares on ipad & ipod using the same apple id
I think the issue is that iTunes (for whatever reason) thinks I have two Apple ID's.
also, to further complicate the issue, when i try updating the apps from my iPod the iTunes store is still recognizing my old hotmail Apple ID. So when I go to enter my password it won't accept because it doesn't match with the old Apple ID, even though it is the same account (just new Apple ID name).
I have tried signing out within the App Store and re-signing in with my Apple ID but it still brings up my old Apple ID name when I try to update. -

my laptop will not boot up from the storage hard drive but if i remove it from the laptop and connect it as portable hard drive my laptop boot up normal?
Do you have a compatible OSX installed on this 'storage' HDD? If not, it will not boot your MBP.

Try to recover or set a new password. Hopefully your email addresses still get mail from Apple.
