  • Kenwood car deck with ipod adapter problems

i have a kenwood deck with the ipod adapter it works fine with the itouch i bought my g/f but wont work for the iphone i just got. Is there a way to make it work or will i have to find a different way to play music from iphone? Also is the sound from aux good?? im guessing that might be the only way for me to play music from iphone.

First, the reason your ipod is displaying Don't Disconnet is that once you are in usb mode on the Kenwood it has established a usb sync connection with the ipod. All you have to do is change the SRC to Standby and that Don't Disconnect message will go away and you will be able to safely disconnect your ipod. You can not manage your music and playlist on the ipod itself once the Kenwood makes a usb connection. You must rely on the control unit to perform this management, and it is a bit limited.
Second, you should be able to see the ipod in my computer as a storage device. If not, go into ipod options - edit preferences, ipod tab, and place check mark in enable disk use if not there already. Once you open the ipod device in my computer set Tools, Folder Options, View to Show Hidden Files and Folders. You will now be able to browse IPod_Control\Music folders. Here you should be able to create a playlist by creating a folder with a playlist name such as Your Music. You can then copy music files into it.
Your Kenwood usb deck should be able to read the new folder name you created once you change the display setting to folder name. The only problem here is getting the correct music into your new folder on a Windows system. The *.m4a apple ipod AAC files have tags that do not include artist and track name. However, the mp3 files located in the same folder do. This may mean you will have to use solely mp3 files on you ipod so you can organize the music properly into playlist folders.
I just created one of these folders on my ipod and copied 4 tracks into the folder. I will test it tonight and let you know how it works.

  • Seeing Cover Flow while connected to car deck

I have a Kenwood car deck with the ipod connector. I would like to view Cover Flow on the ipod while playing, but all that appears is the Kenwood logo. And way of forcing the ipod to show Cover Flow?

Yes, the Kenwood logo appears on the ipod whenever the Kenwood car deck is controlling it. The deck scrolls song title info.
Completely normal as far as I can tell. Whenever you connect to an external in car device, you're going to see the manufacturers logo displayed on the iPod screen. It did the same when I had a Kenwood, and does the same on my new Pioneer unit (which fortunately has the ability to display artwork on the unit's screen). No way around this that I know of.

  • Ipod Classic will no longer connect to car deck's usb

I updated my ipod in itunes and now my car's usb deck will not recognize the ipod. It had been working for years without a problem. I emailed kenwood and they said apple pushed out an update that is causing compatibility issues with car decks. They suggested a "soft reset" which did nothing. Kenwood told me to contact Apple and Apple wants me to pay for support. Guess I'll surf around this forum till I find a way to revert back to an older version of the ipod software.
    Here's the thread from kenwood:
Thank you for contacting Kenwood USA Corporation. We value you as a Kenwood customer and appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance.
I understand you are having an issue with playing back your Ipod. If you recently updated your Ipod to the newer iOS4 software version we recommend attempting to soft reset the Ipod and attempt reconnecting to your head unit. The available updates from Apple have caused some issues with connectivity. For information on resetting your Ipod we recommend visiting www.apple.com.
Please feel free to contact us again with any additional questions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Read this Apple Support Article on Restoring iPod.
    It is on step 6.
Restore would reformat your iPod Hardisk, if it is still in good condition, but some iPod Hardisk may be damage, due to abuse and misuse, so the Restore would fail.
For a successful Restore, I would also suggest that
    Disconnect all other USB devices
    Use the USB2.0 port
Do not use any USB Hub.

  • TS3581 CAN YOU CONNECT A SHUFFLE (gen4) TO A KENWOOD CAR STEREO USING THE SHUFFLE USB CABLE ?

    HELLO TO ALL
ABIGMAC1 HERE! GOOD DAY TO ALL
JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD ANSWER THIS
CAN YOU CONNECT A SHUFFLE (gen4) TO A KENWOOD CAR STEREO USING THE SHUFFLE USB CABLE ?
I CAN USE AN AUX  3.5 TO 3.5 BUT NO WAY TO READ THE LIBRARY. PLEASE HELP ME!
    THANK-YOU
    ABIGMAC1

Check the documentation for the car audio system for device compatibility.  A shuffle may not be compatible.
If the car audio system is able to use a regular USB flash drive connected to the USB port, you should just get an 8GB USB flash drive for $5-10, load it with your "car songs" and leave it connected to the car audio system, instead of constantly connecting and disconnecting an iPod.
If the car audio system has an aux. audio input mini-stereo jack, you can get something like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iCable-Player-Auxiliary-Input/dp/B002AR5XIK
and connect your shuffle's headphones jack to the car audio system.  You can then use your shuffle to play through the car audio system.

  • How do i connect my 3gs iphone to my 2007 infinity g35

I just tried to pair my 3gs iphone to a 2007 Infinity 35.  The bluetooth worked fine and so did the ipod.  But I could not charge the iphone via the G35's connection.  Any ideas?

Most car systems with a USB port will not charge an iPhone. They may or may not charge an iPod depending on the model.
Your best bet is just get yourself a cheap USB charger for the car. They can be had for under $10 at any place that sells electronics.

  • Connected as installer when charging in car audio USB port.

Love my S5 but this is annoying.  Connect phone to Sony car deck via USB to charge.  When using Bluetooth listen to music keeps connecting as installer.  Will pause music and make the beeping sound. Will repeat this process every few minutes.  Any way to stop this? Have tried both with USB debugging one and off.  Won't let me choose to connect as media device just go back to installer.

Can you just charge it with a regular car charger and not use USB?  I never charge my phones in my car that way, I only use the USB port for memory sticks but I think my manual says the USB is not for charging so maybe yours is different.  Mary

  • IPhone 6 with iOs 8 and Kenwood car stereo

My new iPhone 6 (using iOs 8) will not work with my Kenwood car stereo correctly.  It says the bluetooth is connected and tries to place a call but the calls are not connecting to the stereo.  Is anyone else having this trouble and know how to fix it?
I tried forgetting the device (the stereo) and re-pairing, which caused the phone to randomly try to connect to nothing through the stereo.
    Any ideas?

Does your stereo have a USB port, and if so, have you tried to connect via USB?
I'm having issues even with the USB on my Kenwood.  Check out this post:  iPhone 6 won't play with Kenwood stereo USB port. Help !!

  • How to connect my macbook pro to my car cd player

If the CD player has audio line outputs, you could tap the audio input port of your MBP.  I do question the practicality of doing so.

  • My Droid Razor HD updated yesterday. Now it will no longer connect to the bluetooth in my car

Yesterday I accepted the update for my Droid Razor HD. Now it will not connect to the Bluetooth in my car (worked for the previous 8 months).

Christin - Generally your pairings will still be in a list under BT on your phone. Unless of course, you performed a Factory Data Reset on the phone.
Your car's radio should have a reset capability. The front panel on my SONY comes off, and there's a reset button there. Do you have documentation that came with the car for the radio, or if an aftermarket radio, for the radio itself? If not, there is generally information on the web that you can Google to find the reset procedure.
    HTH.

  • Can i connect my ipod classic to my car radio via bluetooth so that I can listen whilst driving?

Can I connect my Ipod Classic to my car radio using bluetooth (or any other way) so that I can listen through my radio whilst driving?

Yes, get an iFM transitter from eBay or Amazon.
Search for Griffin or Monster or just iPod Classic FM transmitter and charger, they are inexpensive less than US$30.
Get one with charger or else you iPod might run out of battery faster.

  • Does apple make a product to connect an iphone 4 to a car stereo

Does Apple make a product to connect the Iphone 4 to a car stereo?

I don't think Apple makes anything aside from the usual "aux" cables discussed above, but I've had good luck with a Motorola T505. It's a small device that you clip on your car's visor. It pairs to the iPhone via Bluetooth, then transmits the output to an open FM frequency that you tune in on your car stereo. So you can play music from your phone thru the car stereo, and it automatically pauses when you get an incoming call, you can carry on your phone conversation hands-free, then the music will resume once your call is completed. It's pretty neat.
