Connecting webservice

Hi all,
        I want to connect webservice to R/3 .Here am getting input from Webservice like "empno" , so that  If I choose SOAP to RFC synchronus ,then how would I get the input which is coming from webservice.
Whether I want to use NWDS to perform this task or any other alternative ways.
Regards,
S.K.Karthikeyan.

Hi,
If your scenario is SOAP to RFC, then you have to deploy the Sender side structure in XI and have to define the Webservice as mentioned in below blog,
Invoke Webservices using SAPXI
Invoke Webservices using SAPXI
and you can send the request to SAP -RFC as below
Testing XI exposed Web-Services
Testing XI exposed Web-Services
soap to soap scenario
Invoke Webservices using SAPXI
Thanks

    . When we use *Sender SOAP Adapter how the connectivity is happening with Remote Clients.
    A:SOAP is an XML-based protocol for exchanging information in a decentralized, distributed environment.SOAP is a technology that allows XML to move easily over the Web. SOAP does this trough an XML envelope for delivering XML content and specifying a set of rules for services to follow when they receive a SOAP message.The fundamental change brought about by SOAP has been the ability to move data anywhere across the Web.
    When ever XI needs to talk to a webservice you will go for SOAP adapter. If you need to enable some functionality as webservice using XI you can use SOAP Sender adapter. If you need to send request to a webservice you will go for SOAP Receiver
    SOAP Message Structure :
    SOAP Envelop: The outermost element of SOAP message. The envelope element is the root of the XML document that defines a SOAP message.
    SOAP Header: An optional, yet key element in architecting a distributed system around XML. The header element provides a modular way of directing SOAP servers to do processing before passing the SOAP message on. For example, it is possible to add SOAP header information that instructs a server to add transaction or authentication information. Header are also important in building piped architectures where processing is done in stages and data is modified as it is passed from handler to handler.
    SOAP Body: An element that must appear in a SOAP message. The Body element is where the transported XML is loaded. SOAP makes no assumptions about the kind of XML transport in the body of a SOAP message. XML or it may take the form of remote procedure call.

    2.How sender SOAP Adapter get those webservices from remote clients and when exactly Remote clients will send webservices to SOAP Adapter?
    It purely depends on ur client & if ur client provides WSDL file then u no need to develop it in ID and use that WSDL.WSDL describes a particular web service. Using a wsdl, we are requesting the broker to point the exact system, application, message interface. Once it is found, the SOAP channel is opened between the provider and the consumer. So the WSDL is a must to access web services.
    in XI, we have to define the Web service which we want to use for the Sender SOAP channel. It is done by choosing Define Web Service from the tool menu of Integration Directory.
    There is no need to code any thing. Here, what you are doing is, just exposing the sender service,channel,Message Interface as a web service.
    In XI, we need to map the incoming messages to the target message( to the actual web service from the provider) format and to maintain the technical and logical routing between the sender and receiver.
    Check this blog to generate WDSL file...
    Exposing BAPI as Web Services through SAP XI
    Configuring a SOAP Sender Channel:
    When we create a SOAP sender channel we have to define the namespace and the name of a message interface (values can be taken from Integration Repository).
    Select the Quality of Service according to your interface type. If you are using a synchronous interface, select Best Effort. Otherwise, select Exactly Once or Exactly Once in Order.
    Transport protocol : HTTP
    Message protocol : SOAP 1.1
    Adapter Engine: Integration Server
    3. I need exactly how the webservices request is passing through sender SOAP Adapter.
    After completion of ur scenario u can use XML spy for testing ur scenario.

  • Connecting webservice to SAP XI/PI.

    Hi,
    I am developing a webservice in Microsoft Visual Studio. I want to access a file which is in SAP XI/PI server(i.e XI server local file). How can I connect to XI server and access the file.
    Regards,
    Varun

    Hi,
    You need to deploy the wsdl file in XI as below
    You can connect to XI server by using the End Point URL as
    The SOAP Sender uses the XI Server URL as below
    http://<server>:<port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=<party>:<service>:<channel>
    Service & channel indicates the Sender SOAP adapter in XI to be used..and will direct to integration server.

  • Which way of VS 2008 do you use for connecting WebServices in WebAS 7.0?

    Since a couple of days I do have problems connecting WebAS 7.0 post SPS 14 (SOAMANAGER) WebServices: Client in C#, Service on WebAS
    Which way in generating the Proxies are you using in VS 2008?
    a) ServiceReference as in .Net 3.5
    b) WebReference as in .Net 2.x
    c) SAP Enterprise service with ESR
    I have tried a/b and constantly fail with message errors as "Unrecognized message version."
    Important: I do ask about WebAs 7.x SPS 14 or later - the version with SOAMANAGER - my old WebServices before the changes in SPS 14 did work.
    Regards HT

    I certainly wouldn't call a blog "well documented".
    But let's address it. He says the embedded number pad is gone. It is. That's all he says.
    You, on the other tentacle, complain that fn-left/right/up/down aren't there any more. You also claim that things have been missing "for some time".
    I have a Macbook (2006) and a MBP (June 2007) sitting here with all the logos on the keys. Not missing here. I have a new MBP (October 2008) also sitting here, no logos on the keys.
    Let's see...
    Fn-down... yeah, certainly seems to do page down
    Fn-up... yeah, certainly seems to do page up
    Fn-right... yeah, certainly seems to go to the end of a line
    Fn-left... yeah, certainly seems to go to the beginning of a line
    So, what, exactly was the problem? Aside from you not actually testing anything?
    and yes, I DID try again just now and proved that it has been removed from the hardware by looking at the keyboard viewer while holding down the function key.
    I have no idea what hardware you're looking at... works fine here. You didn't actually test to see what happens when you hit the key, then?
    Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
    That would be the problem that doesn't exist, right?
    Oh, here's the image you wanted: http://members.cox.net/msw/KeyboardViewer.png

  • Is it possible to call wcf webservice on adf mobile?

    Hi all,
    I tried to consume a wcf webservice method on adf mobile by using java api as seen as below code snippet.
    I tried to run on classical adf generic application by creating webservice proxy. Then i could get response properly. But when i consume webservice method on adfmobile i get http 501 error response. I have tried using drag and drop into amx page and execute binding action, result is same.
    What might be the reason?

    No, as far as i know they are not secured service. What if they are secured, do i need to authenticate during consuming method in webservice proxy, dont i. But as i said before, i could consume and get response on webservice proxy in regular adf project.
    I can consume methods of another webservice (i.e. http://www.html2xml.nl/Services/Calculator/Version1/Calculator.asmx?WSDL) also in all methods that presented.
    No, i can not obtain access on another way to server, it is remote and out of my control.
    Ok, i tried as you say.
    Problem exists here too. May be an interopability problem on between adf platform and wcf service? What do you think Mr Shmeltzer?

  • Problem with web service proxy and connections.xml

    JDev 11.1.14
    Hello
    I'm trying to create a web service proxy that takes advantage of the connections.xml so that the endpoints can be changed without recompiling the code (as described here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/b31974/web_services.htm#ADFFD548 - 13.2.2 How to Create a New Web Service Connection)
    I created the web service proxy using the Jdev wizard and a test client. The access to the web service works as expected.
    The client test code is :
    package model;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.proxy.*;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.root.Currency;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    public class wsTest {
      public wsTest() {
        super();
      public void testIt() throws NamingException {
        CurrencyConvertor currencyConvertor = new CurrencyConvertor();
        CurrencyConvertorSoap currencyConvertorSoap = currencyConvertor.getCurrencyConvertorSoap();
        Double res = currencyConvertorSoap.conversionRate(Currency.CHF, Currency.USD);
        System.out.println("Hello");
        System.out.println(res);
      public static void main(String [] args) throws NamingException {
        wsTest tt = new wsTest();
        tt.testIt();
    }I then create a connection as described in the docs.
    I now have a connections.xml as follows:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'UTF-8'?>
    <References xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/jndi">
       <Reference name="CurrencyConvertor" className="oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.impl.WebServiceConnectionImpl" xmlns="">
          <Factory className="oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.api.WebServiceConnectionFactory"/>
          <RefAddresses>
             <XmlRefAddr addrType="WebServiceConnection">
                <Contents>
                   <wsconnection description="file:/C:/JDeveloper/mywork/WebServiceTest/Model/src/ch/mit/trac/ws/proxy/CurrencyConvertor.wsdl" service="{http://www.webserviceX.NET/}CurrencyConvertor">

                               </operation>
                            </port>
                            <port name="CurrencyConvertorSoap" binding="{http://www.webserviceX.NET/}CurrencyConvertorSoap">
                               <soap addressUrl="http://www.webservicex.com/CurrencyConvertor.asmx" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/"/>
                               <operation name="ConversionRate">
                                  <soap soapAction="http://www.webserviceX.NET/ConversionRate" xmlns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/"/>
                                  <output name=""/>
                                  <input name=""/>
                               </operation>
                            </port>
                         </service>
                      </model>
                   </wsconnection>
                </Contents>
             </XmlRefAddr>
          </RefAddresses>So far so good.
    I then created a new jspx page with a button that calls a method in a request scoped bean.
    The method is supposed to use the connections.xml to get the web service proxy in order to call the web service.
    The bean code is as follows :
    package ch.mit.test;
    import javax.faces.event.ActionEvent;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.proxy.*;
    import ch.mit.trac.ws.root.Currency;
    import javax.naming.Context;
    import javax.naming.NamingException;
    import oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.api.WebServiceConnection;
    import oracle.adf.share.ADFContext;
    public class test {
      public test() {
      public void testIt() throws NamingException {
        Context ctx;
        ctx = ADFContext.getCurrent().getConnectionsContext();
        WebServiceConnection wsc;
        wsc = (WebServiceConnection) ctx.lookup("CurrencyConvertor");
        CurrencyConvertor currencyConvertor = wsc.getJaxWSPort(CurrencyConvertor.class);   -- NPE here
        CurrencyConvertorSoap currencyConvertorSoap = currencyConvertor.getCurrencyConvertorSoap();
        Double res = currencyConvertorSoap.conversionRate(Currency.CHF, Currency.USD);
        System.out.println("Hello");
        System.out.println(res);
      public void testws(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
        try {
          testIt();
        } catch (NamingException e) {
    }When running the application and clicking on the button I keep getting the following error at the line marked NPE Here above:

  • URL Escaping when calling Webservices API Changed?

    Hello,
    It seems that something has changed recently with the Adobe Connect Webservices API. In the past, when I would call 'principal-update' to create or update a user, I would sanitize all my strings using urlencode() in PHP, which takes any non-alphanumeric characters (or dashes and underscores) and "percent encodes" them. For example, a "@" character in an email address becomes "%40".
    This is important especially in the case that a string contains an ampersand (&) or question mark (?) since those characters are used to pass the parameters themselves in the URL string.
    This has always worked fine until I noticed a few days ago it was no longer working.
    If I attempt to create a user with an email address formatted with the "%40", Connect now comes back with an error message saying it wasn't formatted properly. Removing the encoding fixes the problem.
    However, this is NOT best practice. And especially for passwords, which could theoretically contain ampersands and question marks, you cannot simply pass the raw string in the URL as it will create a malformed URL.
    Has anyone noticed this, and does Adobe know about it? Seems like a major problem, and means I will have to prevent users from using these special characters in their passwords until this is fixed.

    Jeff,
    Thanks for the posting. I suggest you should call this into Support as a bug. It's possible that they changed something that affected this without seeing the ramifications.

    I have the following problem.

    When the Web Service did not require authentication to work without problem, the error arises when you need to login and use the "ADF Web Services Connection", is there some other way to log in using the Web Service proxy client directly?
    Any help is welcome.

    Marcelo

    Hi Shay.
    I not use Web service data control, I use only Web Service proxy and the client class for populate data to view object programmatically.
    However, in a test class do I have this:
    public class WordPressCliente {

    public WordPressCliente() {

    private DatosBlogsBndQSService getDatosBlogsBndQSService () {

    try {
    ctx = ADFContext.getCurrent().getConnectionsContext();
    WebServiceConnection wsc = (WebServiceConnection) ctx.lookup("DatosBlogsBndQSService");
    System.out.println("wsc:"+wsc.toString());
    DatosBlogsBndQSService proxy = wsc.getJaxWSPort(DatosBlogsBndQSService.class);
    return proxy;
    } catch (NamingException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    return null;
    private DatosBlogsPT getDatosBlogsPortClient() throws Exception {
    URL baseUrl = DatosBlogsBndQSService.class.getResource(".");
    URL url = new URL(baseUrl,ArchivoUtil.getInstance().getPropiedad("ws.integracion.wordpress"));

  • Error in Webservices Authentication from ADF Page

    Hi All,
    I have created an ADF page which calls secured web services deployed in another weblogic server.
    While running the ADF page from local host (weblogic server installed on my m/c) it is working fine and creating the connection to web services but when I deploy same ADF application to the development server it is not making the connection with web service and throwing below errors..
    I analyzed the issue and found that
    •     Connection from local host: while creating the data control for web services from jdeveloper, am providing some user credentials for http authentication, only then we can access the webservices.
    •     Connection from development instance: however these credentials are missing while making the connection to webservices from development instance. Probably these credentials are not getting passed/stored in the EAR file through which I am deploying the application.

    Another way would be to update Your Credential Store.Using wlst, you can use something like:
    wls:/DefaultDomain/serverConfig> createCred(map="oracle.wsm.security",key="basic.credentials", user="USERNAME", password="PASSWORD", desc="User credentials key")
    This adds the key basic.credentials to the map oracle.wsm.security with the username as "USERNAME". This entry will be stored inside <your domain>/config/fmwconfig/cwallet.sso.
    Thanks,
    Vishal

  • NPE when working with connections.xml for Web Service client

    Our ADF Web Service clients needs to read the WSDL and End point URL from connections.xml. But this is giving an Error.
    Here are the details:
    jdevloper 11.1.1.6.0
    Weblogic 10.3.5
    OWSM 11.1.1.6
    From my ADF based Application I need to call out a web service.
    For this I have built a Web Service Proxy and coded to call it from the application.
    Since the app needs to run through the development testing deployment lifecycle and hence be deployed on different environments, we need the ability allow configuration of wsdl and end point URL for the web service call without the need to recompile the app.
    We want to leverage the connections.xml for this purpose.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/b31974/web_services.htm#autoId6
    My connection.xml looks like:
       <Reference name="MyService" className="oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.impl.WebServiceConnectionImpl" xmlns="">
          <Factory className="oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.api.WebServiceConnectionFactory"/>
          <RefAddresses>
             <XmlRefAddr addrType="WebServiceConnection">

                </Contents>
             </XmlRefAddr>
          </RefAddresses>
       </Reference>
    My code in the Service Client Looks like:
      @WebServiceRef
      private static MyService myservice;
                Context ctx = ADFContext.getCurrent().getConnectionsContext();
                WebServiceConnection wsc =
                    (WebServiceConnection)ctx.lookup("MyService");
                String urlString = wsc.getWsdlUrlStr();
                System.out.println("WSDL URL: "+urlString);
                myservice = wsc.getJaxWSPort(MyService.class);
                MyService_PortType port = myservice.getMyService_Port();

    Hi Frank,
    I got the following two lines of code just to check if WebServiceConnection was able to read the connections file alright.
                String urlString = wsc.getWsdlUrlStr();
                System.out.println("WSDL URL: "+urlString);
    I am not using urlString for further processing.
    The output is
    WSDL URL: http://<host>/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector/MyService.1.wsdl
    java.lang.NullPointerException
            at java.lang.Class.isAssignableFrom(Native Method)

            at oracle.j2ee.ws.common.jaxws.runtime.GenericJavaType.create(GenericJavaType.java:118)
    The WSDL Url pointed to is the one that I configure in the connection while deploying the App.
    Ran a test and WSDL Url is accessible by the app.

  • Connection Details - How to

    What is the best recommended approach for defining, storing and maintaining passwords for connections?
    We are working on a product development using Oracle ADF 11g and would like the system to have capability to connect to one or more database and other servers at the client site(s). For development purposes, we specify the connection information in Jdeveloper, but do not believe that this approach can work in a production scenario, especially where the solution requires to be deployed at multiple sites.
    This could be applicable for database connections, application connections, webservices etc.
    Appreciate your inputs.

    Assuming you're using ADF BC under JDev 11g, then the trick is to use a "JDBC datasource" that maps to a JNDI datasource on your WLS server. Effectively it's a named resource on the server that has all the db credentials, can be setup by developers easily on their integrated WLS, and easily with separate db connection details under test/prod etc. In this way you're not deploying the unsecure details, you're in fact hooking into a resource preconfigured on the JEE server.
    See the following section in the ADF 11g Dev Guide:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/bcservices.htm#sthref801
