Connection visual to database

why my new data base and visual studio connect . its saying my name in correct ,am new at this please help

Hi Norma,
If you've already created your database,
1) Modify the firewalls rules to enable your VS client to connect (Step 3)
2) The connection string for your database can be found in the portal.  Click on the "DB" icon, the database you're attempting to connect to, then click "Dashboard" on the ribbon on the top of the screen.  From here click "Show
connection strings" on the right-hand corner of the screen.
3) Here is a
Getting Started VS project that you can use with the connection string information in 2)

    Also I'm really new to this so I read about this problem in this forum but couldn't understand what  "Oracle Client" means on https://forums.oracle.com/message/11222748   . I have downloaded and installed this : http://download.oracle.com/otn/other/ole-oo4o/ODTwithODAC121010.zip?AuthParam=1381761455_87ee18a27de3af5e1b5cc13d6934260
    Should I resinstall Visual Studio in Some other location too?  i.e. not inside Program Files(x86)?
    I have added Oracle.dataAccess.dll as a reference too.
    Further I have the copied the dll in "C:\app\hp\product\12.1.0\client_1\bin" from this  "C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN". I dont understand why i have two paths like those.
    I also have sql developer for oracle databse installed.

    Please lookup in Windows Registry if you have a key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SQLOLEDB.1" and/or HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SQLOLEDB". If you have only SQLOLEDB, then remove .1 from the Connection string.

  • Can Visual Composer talk to/connect to any database?..

    Hi ,
    My first question is if Visual Composer can talk to a database directly?
    I would like to know the all the databases which visual composer can connect to?
    Does it connect only to SAP Backend systems?
    Or can it connect to Any Database like SQL server etc.,?
    If so, how can visual composer be configured to any database?...
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Vaishali.

    Hi Vaishali,
    It can talk to Any SAP Data base or Java or Oracle data base through portal.
    First you have to confihure all your backends in Your portal and Connect them to Your VC User through Usermapping.
    So all Backends will appear in VC There by you can use the for your application in your portal.
    If helpful award points

  • How to connect to oracle database from visual basic 2010 express edition

    I have installed visual basic 2010 express edition on windows xp. But visual basic 2010 express edition supports Microsoft sql server database file,Microsoft sql server compact 3.5, Microsoft access database file. I want to connect to oracle database from visual basic 2010 express edition. So what drivers are required and how to do connectivity?

    Hello,
    I wasn't clear on what you were using to make the connection. I had a look in Visual Studio 2010 (don't have express to test sorry).
    I think you mean the Data Sources available under the menu Data-> Datasources. this seems to match the description you give when I
    look at the list of datasource options.
    In here you can make ODBC connections via the Microsoft .net Data Provider .
    If you select ODBC as a datasource you can see listed the DSN's you created - for example I see 2 which use the Oracle ODBC driver.
    This assumes you installed an Oracle Client + the oracle version of the ODBC driver (comes with the oracle client).
    Once you created a server connection then you should see it in the server explorer.
    You can also download the Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio which is an add on for VS.
    ** I suspect this is only for VS 2010 and I didn't see that Express was supported.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/visual-studio/overview/index-097110.html
    Let me know if that helps.

  • Failed to open the connection. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 53 ]

    I'm upgrading one of our applications from Visual Studio 2005 to 2010. In the process I'm also switching our reports to run using Stored Procedures instead of Tables/Views.  Everything runs fine on development machines after all the migration work.  On the server however, it does not work. And I am getting the error message ""
    Server is Windows 2003 Server 32 bit.  And yes, I have installed the latest runtimes version 13.0.2000.0 on the server.  There have been no other changes on the server other than to switch the target framework on the website in question from .net 2 to .net 4, and then to modify the web.config file to remove references to the older Crystal Reports and replace with references to the newer version.
    I've seen many other threads on this "failed to open the connection" errors but none of them are my problem except there is one post that remains unanswered where someone had the same Database Vendor Code 53.  I don't know what that error means, spent a considerable amount of time researching that before asking this question.
    Lastly, it appears that this error only happens when the report is pulling data from a Stored Procedure rather than Tables/Views.  If I re-copy the previous reports, they still work.
    The ODBC drivers haven't changed, nor should they. They are fully up to date on that server machine.
    I can't think of anything else that would be indicative of anything other than this is a bug.  Here is the error text as it shows up in the event log:

    Lots of great info here, except for the database; MS SQL? Oracle? Etc?
    Database Vendor Code 53 is an error code that the CR engine simply passes straight from the database it's self. E.g.; look at your database error code and you should be able to find a verbose description of the error.
    As a test, what happens if you add the report to your project and run it in the CR design part of the .NET IDE?
    - A quick google search of Error 53 (for MS SQL - an assumption) comes up with a number of good hits. E.g.;

    if I connect to the WinCC database by using the WinCC OLE DB provider I do not get the tables I expect.
    E.g. I would like to see the AlgViewEnu or other tables/views of AlarmLogging or TagLogging.
    Who can help?

    Hi
    I have not used asp.net with CS4, due to it using an old version of the framework, so unfortunately I cannot really help in solving the problem. But I can remember having a similar problem with DW8, a tutorial for connecting to the database in DW8 is - http://www.webdesign.org/html-and-css/tutorials/asp-net-in-dreamweaver-8.7367.html. I also seem to remember that the connection required the old, (very old) Jet4 access database connector to be installed to work correctly.
    These problems, and the fact that MS keeps updating the framework every year or so, (which are often not backwardly compatible) are why I use Visual Studio for .net C# sites, and no longer actively develop them, but I must admit I still prefer C# to PHP.

  • How to connect to  Oracle database from webdynprojava application

    Hi
    How to connect to  Oracle database from webdynprojava application. where can we provide the code to connect to database.?
    Thank You.

    Hi,
    You need to create  Java Bean model. The bean is a typical java bean with default constructor, getter and setter. You can have additional methods for query etc. The attributes in the class will be your model node and attributes.
    However you need to configure the connection and create JNDI using visual administrator before writing the code.
    You can also consider writing Session EJB with oracle and using them in WD.

  • Will DW cs5 connect to a database in SQL server?

    I work for the government that dictates I use Microsoft SQL server as they do not support php or mySQL.
    I need a simple form to collect limited info and display that back for the user.
    Dreamweaver is able to accomodate what I need, but I have not been able to get the connections right in order to have my database show up in DW.
    IT ensures me this is a Dreamweaver issue as they have tested all the connections and know they are working - and since they don't know Dreamweaver, their answer is for me to drop Dreamweaver and develop the form in Visual Studio which I know nothing about.
    I've exhausted every resource and have gone through the connection tutorials on line a dozen times or better and still come up with nothing. Could it be that Dreamweaver cannot connect to a SQL server?
    I would appreciate any resources to do this if it can be done, or confirmation that I am not an idiot unable to figure this out but that Adobe Dreamweaver simply doesn't play well with Microsoft SQL Server and I need to learn Visual Studio in order to get along.

    c.ayers wrote:
    I got the impression that no matter what the database, Dreamweaver needs php to access them.
    Dreamweaver supports a range of different languages and technologies. PHP just happens to be the most widely used server-side language that connects to a database, but it's not the only one.  Dreamweaver can also use ASP and ColdFusion to connect to a database. There's also limited support for ASP.NET and JSP through extensions that restore functionality removed from the program a couple of versions ago.
    I don't know .NET, just took a course in SQL to know enough to create tables and learn to query.
    If I'm understanding your advice, it looks like I need to get up to speed in Visual Studio to get this form up and going with a return screen for the user to be able to update the information displayed?
    Visual Studio is like Dreamweaver - a tool for working with web technologies. It's not so much the need to learn Visual Studio, but your lack of knowledge of .NET that's the problem. Because Visual Studio is designed specifically for .NET, it might help you build the form more quickly. But without learning the basics of .NET, you're likely to struggle. Unfortunately, my knowledge of .NET is close to zero, so I can't offer any direct advice other than to wish you good luck with your efforts.

  • JDBC Connection to MSSQL-Database in Netweaver Portal

    We are running into problems when trying to create a Query- or JDBC iView to retrieve data from a MS SQL server table.
    Here is what we have tried on 2 different EP portals.
    Portal versions:
    6.0.12.0.0 (NW04 SPS12)
    6.0.14.0.0 (NW04 SPS14)
    Step 1: Created a JDBC system.
    Connection URL  - jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<servername>:1433;DatabaseName=name
    Driver Class Name  - com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Connection Factory Class  – JDBCFactory
    Admin User ID (DQE)  –  database admin name
    Admin Password (DQE)  – database admin password
    User Mapping Type  – admin;user
    Step 2: Created an alias for this JDBC system, for example, test_JDBC_system.
    Step 3: Added user mapping.
    Search for my user ID in the User Mapping in User Admin section, click on “Edit”, and select the JDBC alias name “test_JDBC_system” in the system dropdown list, and then put database admin user name and database admin password in the fields “User” and “Password”, and click on “Save”.
    Step 4: Tested the connection.
    “Connection Test Through DQE” was successful, but “Connection Test for Connectors failed”. Error message was:
    Results
    Retrieval of default alias successful
    Connection failed. Make sure user mapping is set correctly and all connection properties are correct.
    Step 5: Created a JDBC stored procedure iView.
    Got an error message like this “Error connecting to backend application. Check your system and user mapping settings. Contact your system administrator if problem persists.”
    Step 6: Because we couldn’t successfully create JDBC iView, so we tried to created a Query iView instead.
    It showed me the system alias, and I could drill down all the way to the table level and put in my query, for example, SELECT cdb_admin.Land.Land FROM cdb_admin.Land (table name is “land” and the column name is also “land”, cdb_admin is the admin user). But it gave me an error when previewing it – “Query execution failed. Exception message: ”
    Here are our issues/thoughts:
    We don’t know how to do the user mapping, not sure what to put into “User” and “Password” fields.
    The documents saying these versions have the SQL Server Driver installed already, but we couldn’t see the “com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver” under System Drivers in “JDBC connector” in SAP Visual Admin.
    In some document, it used “com.sap.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver”, and we don’t see that in the system driver list either.
    We tried to deploy MS SQL driver 3 jar files msbase.jar, mssqlserver.jar, msutil.jar by adding a new driver under “JDBC connector” in SAP VA. We gave it a name “MSSQL”. But we don’t know if we referred to the SQLServerDriver class correctly by entering “Driver Class Name  - com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver” when creating the JDBC system in the portal.
    It seems like we connected to the database server and tables when using Query iView, but why did we get this “Query execution failed. Exception message: ”? We tried to modify the query to “select land from land” too, but it didn’t work either, same error message. So is it really the SQL statement wrong? There is not much documentation on Query iView and can you give me some hints?
    Thanks very much..

    Hi,
    in "User" and "Password" field you need to give database administrator User-ID and Password.
    You just need to give proper Database url and Driver class name to access MS SQL thro JDBC system.
    Have you set the security settings for the database, check the <b>prerequsites</b> in the following link:
    <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f5/eb516b0e6a11d7b84900047582c9f7/frameset.htm">Creating iViews for Databases</a>
    Hope it helps

  • Yesterday I was able to connect Azure SQL Database - Today I am not

    Hello Everyone,
    I have problem with establishing connection with Azure SQL Database. I have read many articles here, tried some solutions but none worked.
    0. On last Friday everything worked well - today it does not.
    1. I added my public IP Address in Azure Management Portal earlier.
    2. I tried different types of login-ways: login@nameserver, I used numeric addresses instead of server names, I set TCP connection manually, added encryption in one case either, tried do establish connection with particular database
    3. Firewall does not block 1433 out connection
    4. My IP address is static
    5. I have no error message displayed using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio - it just hangs.. - no response at all
    6. I cannot ping the machine but its name is resolved correctly - maybe it does not respond using echo reply on purpose
    7. Status of my database is Active - I am able to connect it and manage via browser and management portal at the moment
    8. When I am trying to connect database via Visual Studio - it hangs.. - VS must be stopped manually via task manager
    9. My local CloudService has problem with connection to the db either
    10. Currently I am not able to deploy my CloudService because when I am trying to Publish it - VS hangs as soon as first Publish dialog window appears. Looks that I am able to deploy cloud service via Management portal only.
    I am still trying to dive into the problem but at this moment I would be grateful for any clues.
    Regards,

    Hi Mekh, hi everyone
    PROBLEM SOLVED.
    Yestarday I updated Azure Firewall rule and database-level firewall rules (master, my_database). I added special input / output protocols (IP, TCP, UDP) rules to my COMODO firewall (MSSMS could send anything and receive anything using IP, TCP and UDP). Status
    of my computer -> database connection was set to ESTABLISHED in netstat output but MSSMS was still unavailable (no response at all - no error message).
    I DECIDED TO UNINSTALL COMODO AT ALL and then if it does not work - reinstall local SQL Server, MSSMS and finally Visual Studio. When Comodo was gone - problem was gone either. Now I have connection with my database using MSSMS and I do not have to reinstall
    anything more.
    Regards,

  • Help using C# application to connect to oracle database

    I'm new to database.
    I'm developing a C# GUI application in visual studio 2008 that is suppose to interact with oracle. After researching and trying out several sample codes, nothing works and I'm in desperate need of some help/advice/suggestions.
    The simplest example I'm trying is to just get a button to run a simple SQL query. The code is:
    private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
    string oradb = "Data Source=acme.gatech.edu;User Id=gtg880f;Password=******;";
    OracleConnection conn = new OracleConnection(oradb); // C#
    conn.Open();
    OracleCommand cmd = new OracleCommand();
    cmd.Connection = conn;
    cmd.CommandText = "select Location_Name from warehouse where Location_name = 'atlanta'";
    cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text;
    OracleDataReader dr = cmd.ExecuteReader();
    dr.Read();
    label1.Text = dr.GetString(0);
    conn.Dispose();
    I've installed many many version of oracle database and have included the Oracle.Data.Access under reference.
    If I use putty and connect to acme.gatech.edu via port 22, I can type sqlplus / and run the query "elect Location_Name from warehouse where Location_name = 'atlanta'" and it'll work.
    After some research, some say that if I can connect via sqlplus that means i can connect to the database but what do i need to implement to enable my c# code in visual studio to be able to do that.
    I did a search on the forum but found nothing that matches this. In essence, I'm not sure what/how to specify such that I can connect to the acme.gatech.edu server and run sql commands.
    Thanks,
    Oky Sabeni

    There're two ways you can get data in and out of database using .NET
    #1 System.Data.OracleClient namespace - it's .NET avail out of the box
    #2 Oracle.DataAccess.Client - aka "ODP.NET"
                   Download: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/index.html
    Or download Beta because as of today it's the only version which supports .NET "TransactionScope" (I just tested seems like still it is NOT working Re: 10g Express + ODP.NET (version 2.111.6.20) > support TransactionScope? http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/index1110710beta.html
    QuickStart: http://www.installationwiki.org/ODP.NET_Getting_Started_Guide
    Also there's a doc under Start menu>Programs>Oracle - OraOdac11g_BETA_home>Application Development>"Oracle Data Provider for .NET Developer's Guide"
    It's worth reading just scroll down quick for code fragment.
    Anyway here's two small examples:
    Example 1: System.Data.OracleClient (Using library from M$)
              * First you'll need to add reference to "System.Data.OracleClient".
              IDbFactory oDbFactory = DbProviderFactories.GetFactory("System.Data.OracleClient");
              IDbConnection oConn = oDbFactory.CreateConnection();
              oConn.ConnectionString = "Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=MyHost)(PORT=MyPort))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=MyOracleSID)));User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;";
              // Or ...
              oConn = new System.Data.OracleClient.OracleConnection("Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=MyHost)(PORT=MyPort))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=MyOracleSID)));User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;");
         Example 2: ODP.NET from Oracle
              IDbFactory oDbFactory = DbProviderFactories.GetFactory("Oracle.DataAccess.Client");
              IDbConnection oConn = oDbFactory.CreateConnection();
              oConn.ConnectionString = "Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=MyHost)(PORT=MyPort)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=MyOracleSID)));User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;";
              // Or ...
              oConn = new Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection("Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=MyHost)(PORT=MyPort)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=MyOracleSID)));User Id=myUsername;Password=myPassword;");
    string strSQL = "... SQL statement...";
              int nPersonId = 0;
              string strFirstName = null;
              Person oPerson = null;
              string strSQL = "SELECT Id FROM PERSON";
              oCmd = oConn.CreateCommand();
              oCmd.CommandText = strSQL;
              oCmd.CommandType = System.Data.CommandType.Text;
              IDataReader oRdr = oCmd.ExecuteReader();
              while (oRdr.Read())
                   if (!Convert.IsDBNull(oRdr["Id"]))
                        nPersonId = (int) oRdr["Id"];
                   if (!Convert.IsDBNull(oRdr["FirstName"]))
                        strFirstName = (string)oRdr["FirstName"];
                   oPerson.Id = nPersonId;
                   oPerson.FirstName = strFirstName;
    Example CREATE TABLE:
              DECLARE
              count_item int;
              BEGIN
                   SELECT count(1) into count_item FROM user_sequences WHERE sequence_name = 'AUDITLOGSEQUENCE';

         Before running script, make sure your account has permission (unless you're using SYS account of course). You'd probably need to know how to create user and granther right:
              CREATE USER dev IDENTIFIED BY "devacc_@";
              GRANT CREATE SESSION TO DEV;
              GRANT DBA TO DEV;
         Here's how you can run PL\SQL scripts in Oracle
