Consignment Inventory

Hi,
I'm trying to understand how Business One handles consignment inventory.  I've searched SAP and none of the answers is very clear.  I hear that it is necessary to set a warehouse up as a consignment warehouse.  But the warehouse form does not show a consignment indicator.  I heard that you should call it a drop ship warehouse.  But this suggestion is neither consistent with the meaning of drop ship nor of consignment.  Consignments and drop shipments are not the same.  I am doing an add-on that needs to reconcile inventory counts; so I need to understand how Business One handles consignment.
Here is what I am seeing.  The inventory tab for a serial number managed item says that there are 10 on hand.  The serial number transaction report says that there are 11 serial numbers available.  This is a difference of 1.  The OITM table shows a field called u201Cconsigu201D, which means consignment.  This field contains -1.  Does this mean that one of the serial numbers is on consignment?  The serial number transaction form says nothing about consignment.  So there is no way of knowing which serial number is on consignment.
I ran an item balance restore at the suggestion of a co-worker and the number in the consig field changed to +1.  But there are still 11 serial numbers available and a quantity on hand of 10.  Is the consig field really a plug?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Vijay,
In brief you have to use Misc Receipt and Misc Issue into a non asset Sub-Inventory for Consignment Items.
Then on a periodic basis run the Misc Issues report for figuring out usage and use it as an input for PO Receipts so that you can pay the Vendor for the Periodic usage. after doing PO receipt item is your asset and you may issue it to production or deal with it as per your needs.
This is the way I had done it , but not sure if this is the most effective way. This way we have to do 4 Transactions. If you get info on anyother approcah we discuss further and see how effective it is and hence we could use the one that is simpler from trx point of view
Thanks

  • Consignment Inventory - Off Quality to be returned to Vendor

We have several materials from a consignment vendor that have been transferred to blocked status due to it being of 'off quality'.  Normally, we would execute a 102 movement against the receipt and return the material to the vendor since it is in consignment status.  The issue is that we moved to a different 'box' in SAP (from N61 to N6P).  Since the receipt was recorded in N61 we can not execute the 102 movement in N6P.  We are looking for a solution as to releaving the consignment inventory without causing SAP to require payment when settlement is run for this vendor at month end.  or... the best alternative solution.

    Hi Jenny!
One option would be the way back: try to cancel all bookings until your are able to execute the 102 movement out of N61.
If this fails, a second option would be the creation of a return PO - you should be able to enter the value manually and can charge the consignment vendor anything (= the same as would be paid by the settlement run).

  • Consigned Inventory

    Hi,
I'm trying to use consignment cycle. But I have the below issues:
1- If the cost of existing consigned goods is changed before selling it, how can I change its cost?
I searched for this issue, I find that there is a request called "Retroactive price update", but I do not know where to enter the new cost.
2- How can I find the generated invoices for my supplier. kindly be noted that i setup the self billing.
3- How can I match the PO with the consigned goods invoice using the Payables Manager?
4- How to pay my supplier?
I downloaded document called "Consigned Inventory From Supplier Process Guide", but these issues are not clear.
    Thanks&Regards

To Retroactively update the price of prior purchases u need to update the concerned BPA with the new price and then run the Retroacive concurrent program. It'll update all the prior purchases.

  • OBIEE11g, BI Apps 7.9.6 for EBS - Consignment Inventory Report details

    Hi,
If anyone worked on BI Apps for EBS, can you please tell me the details of Consignment Inventory Report?
I need to know the columns names and how calculations done on Consignment Inventory Report.
Any information on this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The 3 Global currency codes are different from functional , local currency.
All the transactions are brought into the warehouse and there is no limitation to the number of currencies that can be brought in but for reporting purpose you want to convert all these transactions in multiple currencies to a single currency ...lets say US$ and at a monthly rate or GBP at a spot rate etc..
So in a nutshell the document and local currenclies do come in and there is no configuration needed but translation to a global reporting currency and the rates at which its converted is determined by what you provide in DAC.. the conversion is done by mplt_currency_conversion which is present in each and every fact mapping.

  • Consigned inventory process in R12

    Hi All,
In 11i consigned inventory process, we set value in supplier site as Pay on Receipt = Use and Invoice Summary level = Consumption Advice.
In R12, I am not able to see Consumption Advice in Invoice Summary level LOV (List of Values). What should be the value should set at Invoice Summary level in R12.
Can anyone throw me some light on this?

    Hi,
There are two t-codes used for displaying & clearing inventory difference.:
    T-code LI20 is used for display and clear the difference in warehouse management;
T-code LI21 is used for display and clear the difference between warehouse management and inventory management
    Hope this helps.

  • Creating BDoc middleware adapter for consignment inventory

I apologize if this posted incorrectly, in advance.
I am interested in content on CRM Middleware BDocs.  Specifically, our team is interested replicating/synchronizing R/3 Consignment Inventory to CRM Online to CRM Mobile Sales.
It is my hope that this adapter (BDoc model) may have already been created, and this work could be reused.
This is very high level, but any response is appreciated.

  • SAP customer consignment inventory for MRP planning

    Hi all
Is there a way I can make customer consignment inventory visible to MRP run. In standard SAP it is not visible to MRP
    thanks a lot

    Hi John,
You need to check two things..
    a. Requirements Class
    b. Scheduline Category  (Transaction code VOV6)
Check the above for your document whether they are activated for Requirement transfer.
Make sure in VOV6 you have ticket Req/Assembly check box.
    Revert in case needed.

  • Stock transports of vendor consigned inventory

Hello.  I have a question with regard to doing a stock transport order (from one plant to another) where the inventory is in vendor consigment stock.  I have a stock determination rule set on both the materail and item category (NLN) but it appears I also need this set on the movement type 641 but transaction OMJT does not have this movement in the list.
Does anyone know if you can create a stock transport order for vendor consigned stock and do a delivery where by the stock is issued direct from the vendor consigned stock?  If so, is there an OSS note that needs applied or how do i get this movement in transaction OMJT.
I am on version 4.0B of SAP.
    Thanks.  K.

    1) SPRO > Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Stock Determination > Define Strategies for Stock Determination (I guess this is already maintained, but please check it)
    2) SPRO > Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Stock Determination > Assign Stock Determination Rule in the Applications > Delivery (please assign the rule to your delivery type)
    3) SPRO > Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Stock Determination > Assign Stock Determination Rule in the Applications > Inventory Management (for mvt 641)
    If you use WM:
SPRO > Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory > Stock Determination > Assign Stock Determination Rule in the Applications > Warehouse Management
Please also assign the stock determination group to the suitable material masters (MARC-EPRIO; MM02 > "Plant data / stor. 2")

  • Consignment Inventory at the G/L level (Terms and Consignment)

Is it possible to break out finish good inventory by Terms and Consignment on the balance sheet?
    134000      Finished Goods (Terms)
    135000      Finished Goods (Consignment)
    136000      Raw Materials
    137000      WIP
I've talked to 3 FI consultant and 1 MM consultant and they all say it is not possible.  Has anyone done this before?
    Thank you,

    Hi Neetu,
When you select Item level G/L in the Item Master, the G/L Accounts determination for Revenue, COGS, Inventory, etc are taken as defined in the Inventory data tab, on the Warehouse row line. (If you do not see the G/L account, you could from Form settings enable them)
Once you set the G/L at Item level you have the flexibility to change the G/L accounts for a particular item.
    Here is a brief explanation:
Set G/L Accounts by u2013 Use the drop down menu to select the required method by which you would like to set the G/L accounts connected to your items:
    1. WH u2013 The G/L accounts defined in the Define Warehouse window, located under Administration --> Definitions --> Inventory --> Define Warehouses --> Accounting tab page.
    2. Item Group u2013 The G/L accounts defined in the Define Item Groups window, located under Administration --> Definitions --> Inventory --> Define Item Groups --> Accounting tab page.
    3. Item Level u2013 Select this method in order to define G/L accounts for each item manually via Inventory --> Item Master Data --> Inventory Data tab page.
Please go through the documentation :

  • Consignment Pick-up order - confirmed inventory qty

    Greetings,
We are using the SD customer consignment model, using sales order types, consignment fill up orders ZKB (copy of KB), consignment issue ZKE (copy of KE), consignment return ZKR (copy of KR) and consignment pick-up ZKA (copy of KA). We have a specific requirement to build a consignment pickup order ZKA, deliver and post goods receipt the delivery before we process the ZKR consign returns and so we go negative in the customer consigned inventory. My issue is that SAP will not allow us to confirm the qty on the ZKA sales order so we can deliver it (no schedule lines created to deliver), we need to circumvent this and just confirm and deliver the consign pick-up. This a unique situation where we are replicating transactions from another system and it's done out of order, the inventory would be negative literally a couple of hours.
    Thanks!

    Agis -
Thank you for your input, I believe this is part of the problem however I believe the core of my problem is in the availability check and schedule line processing. If I have no consigned inventory for a particular customer and material I still need to book a Consignment pickup as I'm replicating transactions from an external system and will catch up and reconcile inventory within the day. I can create my ZKA (KA) order with the ZKN (KN) line item category, I can create a schedule line with the schedule line category of F0 (consPickup w/o AvCh) however when I deliver the pickup a delivery is created with the line item but with no delivery quantity and a log entry of "Only 0 EA of material XXXXX  available".. What I need to do is supersede this and create the delivery with qty and post goods return it, letting the consignment inventory go negative, this will be caught up hours later when I post consignment receipts.
    Any ideas?

  • Consignment stock, make to order scenario

    Hi
We have a material which produce make to stock and make to order also.
In case of make to stock its fine. But when we are testing make to order then following is system behavour.
    Action     Mvt Type     Accounting Document
    GR     101     No Accounting Document
Consignment     631     Finish Inventory     Dr      at Standard Price
                        Consignment Inventory Change (VKA)     Cr
PGI     633     COGS     Dr      at Standard Price
                        Finish Inventory     Cr
My question is why not accounting document is generated at the time of GR 101 in case of make to order scenario.

    Hi
MTO has 3 scenarios in it. (I think you either fall in Scenario 1 or 2)
    1. Where the Qty of Prod order is tagged to sales order upon GR from prod order....
The valuation in this case happens at the std cost (CK11N).... Every thiing remains same as in MTS... You get variance as well
    2. Where Qty & Value both are tagged to the sales order (Sales order is Cost Object & Stock is Valuated stock)
This is not recommended by SAP and should be chosen only in rare cases...
This scenario pertains to Complex MTO, means totally manufactured based on customer demand.. Like Cars, Boeing Air Crafts, etc
Sale order is a cost object...
Sales order cost estimate is done when sales order is created...
GR is valuated at sales order cost estimate... Variances are calculated based on this cost and actual cost incurred..
PGI and Revenue post to the sales order because SO is the CO object
Finally Sales order is settled to COPA
    3. Where Qty & Value both are tagged to the sales order (Sales order is Cost Object & Stock is Non Valuated stock)
    This is recommended by SAP
This scenario pertains to Complex MTO, means totally manufactured based on customer demand.. Like Cars, Boeing Air Crafts, etc
Sale order is a cost object...
Sales order cost estimate can be done when sales order is created...
GR is Non valuated... No Variances are calculated because GR is non valuated
Production Order settles upon sales order.. hence, actual cost goes to sales order...
PGI does not generate accounting doc because stock is Non Valuated
Revenue post to the sales order because SO is the CO object
Finally Sales order is settled to COPA
These are the 3 possible scenarios in MTO... There might be a slight variation in Consignment scenario.... I am nt sure if the "No Accounting doc" situation at GR is OK or not

  • ECC 600 - Cost Estimates for Consigned Material

We are in ECC 600and planning to implement Consigned Inventory in short time. However I am stuck with Inventory revaluation for consigned material.
Consingment Flow: Vendor ship these items against standard PO at zero price. At the consumption pricing is captured from Purchase info records.
Material valuation: We are using valuation variant 001 Planned valuation - mat. with

Sub-Strategy Sequence with Purchasing : Strategy Sequence
    Purchase Order Price via Condition

    Effective Price from Purchase Order
However when I try create cost estimate I am getting following error,
    " No price could be determined for material/batch <......>/ plant <..> "
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Uday

Thanks for the quick response. I did maintain Purchasing info record using ME12. We do see pricing information at the time Production order backflsh. However contract and PO has no pricing information. Therefore initial GR is created with zero price. However at the time consumption against prod order, consignment material gets price from the Purchase info record. Bur consumption documents are not linked back to PO.When I try to cost these material using CK11N, SAP gives following messages,
Msg.typ Material Plnt Area MsgNo Message Text
I 1000 CK 037 Lot size 1 EA taken from costing view
I 1000 CK 776 No valid source of supply found for material plant 1000

I 1000 CK 361 Value of costing item 00001 in itemization is 0
E 1000 CK 240 Cost component split costed with value of zero
    Any clue.

  • Drop Ship and Consignment Warehouses.

    Hi Everyone;
What is the main difference between a Drop Ship and a Consignment Warehouse. As per my understanding example for Drop Ship warehouse would be ebay, as if some company wants to sell it s products it will use ebay as a drop ship warehouse.
Consignment warehouse only has a accounting effect when the products is sold. so example of consignment warehouse will be like Honda selling it s cars through it s dealers..so if a dealer in new york sold one Honda car only then it will have an accounting and warehouse effect in it s headquarters in Detroit and Ny.
Please correct me if i am wrong as i always get confused in this. I am preparing for my B1 certification.
    Thanks and Regards
    Nitin

    Your understanding is correct.
In addition to that, following is as per SAP Help Document
    Drop Ship
Select to define the warehouse as a drop ship warehouse. Use when the company does not manage inventory, but receives commission for every order.
Drop ship warehouses cannot be used for serial or batch items.
    Inventory Transfers as Customer Consignments
If you deliver items to your customer in the form of a consignment, you can use this function to enter the inventory transfer from your warehouse to the consignment stores in the system.
When items are withdrawn from the consignment stores at the customeru2019s site, you create an outgoing invoice for the appropriate quantity and specify that the items be delivered from the consignment stores.
You have to create a storage location for the consignment to enable the consignment inventory to be managed separately from the rest of your item inventory.
If you maintain consignment inventory for several customers, we advise creating a consignment store for each customer so that the inventory for each customer can be monitored more easily.
You can then display the consignment inventory using the warehouse reports.

  • Linking Consignment Settlement (MRKO) with Value Contract

    Hi Guys,
We are trying to set up Consignment stock functionality in our company. We have successfully configured and tested it but there is only one problem, we want to link this consignment functionality with and Outline agreement (Value Contract to be exact), so that every time we do a settlement using MRKO, the invoice value is deducted from the total value of the contract. My first question is
1 - Can we link consignment settlement (MRKO) and Value Contract in such a way that each time we run consignment settlement using MRKO , the open/ remaining value of the Value Contract is decreased by the invoice amount. If YES, then how can we do it (Please mention the steps if possible)
2- If NO, then what is the way to achieve above task, is their workaround for it ??

Normally we do not get into consignment arrangements with supplier with value limites or qty limites. It defeats the purpose of consignment, where idea is to reduce inventory carrying cost and yet have full availability of stock.
Also, you will provide a dedicated space in your premises to your Supplier and hence to limit him with total value of your consumption is difficult to achieve. Even if you make some enhancement in system to achieve it, on shop floor how can you control it, if you have inventory open for use? If you have negotiated with consignment vendor based on value, I am sure Vendor will not replenish any inventory once he thinks that overall value limit is breached and hence suddenly one day, without any indicators to you, you will run out of those components which you do not have in your inventory, nor in your consignment inventory.
You can implement any exit, which may stop you post the transaction in system, but I believe if you are entering into such contracts with your supplier, you may need to have some sort of notification once you are close approaching the overall limit, to either re-negotiate the contract or to have those components ordered for your inventory directly to ensure availability of stock.
