Consistency Problem In Audit Logs and Datafile

Hi,
We have audit logs of a transaction in audit files, however we do not see any changes in the table that the transaction affects.
We use point-in-time recovery and flashback feature to figure out the changes in the table . DML Audit Granularity is "ACCESS".
The transaction is java application transaction and we use hibernate.
How can this be possibble? Thank you.

You've flashed or recovered back to a transaction in progress and the transaction was rolled back as part of recovery. We have duplicated the database(2 months early version of the database) from backup. We use Flashback Version Query to figure out the changes in the audited table.
Ex:
SELECT STATE FROM X
VERSIONS BETWEEN TIMESTAMP
TO_TIMESTAMP ('07-09-12 05:15:30','dd-mm-yy hh24:mi:ss')
AND TO_TIMESTAMP ('07-09-12 16:00:30','dd-mm-yy hh24:mi:ss')
where ID=1
We cannot find update transaction from this query. The "STATE" column is always null. However in audit xml file we see the "UPDATE" sql.

Some code for a report or inquiry incorrectly does a select for update and doesn't actually update anything. There is no "select for update" statement.

  • SAP Security audit log and Profile Parameter rsau/enable

Does the Profile Parameter rsau/enable have to ="1" for the audit log to be active or is this parameter set to purely allow the maintainance of static profiles. I have been reading into SAP's documentation and they only refer to this parameter in the "Maintaining Static Profiles" section. Therefore I would like to know if the audit log can record when the parameter rsau/enable = "0"?
    Many thanks

    Hi
I have it running on my NW2004s sneak peak system, whit a dynamic filter and the rsau/enable = 0. So Yes - it's possible to record in the secure audit log with rsau/enable = "0", if your using the dynamic filters

  • Problems importing through log and transfer

anybody know why i cant import canon elph 100HS video files through log and transfer in final cut pro 7?
    thanks

Does Canon have a plugin for working with that camera and FCP like they do for their larger DSLRs?  If so, download and install it and then try Log & Transfer again.  If not, you'll need to convet the files from the camera using other apps like MPEG Streamclip or possibly ClipWrap.

  • SCOM 2012 collect Windows Audit logs and forward them to a Linux Syslog server

    Hello:
    1. We have a SCOM 2012 server.
    2. We have SNARE agents for PCI systems, but now we want to save money by gathering all events for all Windows servers using its native features.
    3. We also have a centralized Linux server running SYSLOG which aggregates the logs to our Dell LogVault retention appliance (for PCI purposes)
    Thus, my question:
In effort to remove the SNARE agents from the windows servers, can we implement Audit Collections Services (ACS) in the windows environment so that they collect/forward audit/event logs to the SCOM 2012 server and then SCOM forwards the events to the centralized
syslog Linux server? In which case they are aggregated to the Dell appliance.
We prefer to use the Linux syslog as the centralized log server but would like to know how to go about implementing the solution above.
    Many thanks,

Wow, that's REALLY low. That number means there's only 6MB free. It's recommended to have AT LEAST 15MB free. Check under Options | Status, hit the menu button, then choose Database Sizes. What number is listed for Total Size at the top?
If the Content Store is really big then that means all of the media files (pictures, videos, etc) are being saved in the device memory rather than on a media card. Does your boss have a media card to store the media on?
Did you also change the Keep Appointments setting to something lower like you did with the Keep Messages setting?

  • Audit log web service for Office 365

I am working on developing an application that will interact with the Office 365 services. I am currently able to get the files and folders of a singed-in user using the OAuth2 authentication. I am aware that we can get the audit logs and it will be exported
    to Microsoft Excel.
However, my question is : Is there any web service or endpoint I can use to access the logs using REST API. For example, Box provides an api/endpoint to achieve this: http://developers.box.com/docs/#events.
Any help would be highly appreciated!
    Many Thanks

Currently displaying audit log reports in REST or API is not supported by Microsoft. SharePoint online in Office 365 just supports saving an audit log report as a Microsoft Excel 2012 Preview workbook.

  • Performance issue of Security Audit log

    Hello,
My client would like to activate the Security Audit log on his system. However he will like to know whether there could be any performance issue when activating it. Since I do not have any prior experience, can you please give me your general feedback on this subject. Have any of you experience performance issue when implementing security audit log and what can be done to minimize its effect?

    Hai,
Activating Security Audit logs will not affect the performance of your SAP system. Since SAP Systems maintain their audit logs on a daily basis. The system does not delete or overwrite audit files from previous days; it keeps them until you manually delete them. Due to the amount of information that may accumulate, you should archive these files on a regular basis and delete the originals from the application server. This is the only thing you really need to take care since they might fill up the disk space if you dont archive or delete them on regular basis. Also since the data is very sensitive you should take extra care to protect the data.

  • Logs and Traces - low performance

    Hi,
I encounter a serious problem with application Logs and Traces in NWA. In that application we deal with predefined and custom views . The predefined views work perfectly, but when I run a custom view, it takes over 3min. to get any result. I can hardly imagine that there is nothing left to do.
Has anyone encountered the same issue? Did you solve it?
    Thanks very much,
    Wesley

    Hi Denis,
The tables mentioned above only log "technical" details of the logs and will not be helpful for your requirement.  The best way to view the device logs is via the Device Logs Monitoring.  It provides advanced search facility for the devices, whose logs you are interested in.  Additionally, once you have got the list of devices based on your search criteria, for a selected device, it is possible to filter out the logs for that device through the "Additional Logs Filter" button where you could filter based on the severity, time range and even by the user (client user) who was logged in the client when these log records were being logged.
    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,

  • DBA Opinion on Audit Logs in Oracle Database

As the title suggests - what are your initial reaction when your auditors come to you and say "why arent audit logs turned on table a, b, c, d.....z, a1 etc".
Scenario - say the auditor is interested in audit logs and settings as the Database houses PII and bank account data....
The common response from the DBA from what I have seen is "do you realise how much this will cost and what impact it will have on performance" (waving your fists).
So please tell me as a profressional Oracle DBA:
What financial (broke down in detail if poss) considerations need to be made when deploying an audit policy to a database housign sensitive data.
What technical (broke down in detail if poss) considerations need to be made when deploying an audit policy to a database housign sensitive data.
I look forward to your replies.

    Many, many things to consider.
It will be generally not practical to audit everything down to excruciating detail (as usually requested by well-meaning but technically challenged auditors) without causing significant overhead. Having said that it will be equally irresponsible not to setup auditing on a database that will be used for production. So every DBA needs to find a happy medium that is acceptable to the management, users, auditors, plus compliance with industry/state/federal regulations, etc.
If you wish to use Fine-grained Auditing (FGA), it requires an Enterprise Edition license.

  • Oblix v7 audit log file missing

    Hi,
    I'm using oblix v7.
I have enabled audit logs and specified the file name as: C:\audit33.txt
But on the machine there is no such file. It is somehow missing.
The same configuration works on another machine.
Any idea why the audit log file is missing?
    Thanks.

    I response myself.

  • Security Audit Log Reason Codes

    Hello there,
We have an logon failed entry in our Security Audit Log and i am trying to find out what the reason code is. I think it is to do with a failed RFC connection of one of our users. Is there a list somewhere that shows all these failed logon reason codes?
    Logon Failed (Reason = 53, Type = H)
    Cheers!
    Bernard.

That would be a failed logon of type HTTP(s) due to the user ID's password being locked from failed logon attempts (USR02-UFLAG = 128 in the ABAP world).
    See SAP Note 320991.

  • RAD Ingest FCP Log and Transfer freeze

Greetings all, I am having problems using the Log and Transfer window in Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 on the IMAC system (Imac Intel Core 2 Duo 4 G 667 MHz Ram) I'm using- basically when I open it, at first it doesn't even open, then when I try opening it again, it shows up but has RAD Ingest written at the top, and the pane is frozen. It doesn't crash FCP but I can't close the window again. I don't have FXInstaller installed, so that's not the problem. All the P2 Media is on drives- its on a RAID mirror drive (I also read this could be a problem so I moved some of the media to another Firewire drive, and took the raid drive offline but it didn't make a difference).
I've reinstalled FCP twice now, the version I had was 6.0 and then I used software upgrade to upgrade it to 6.0.5. The OS I'm installing on is 10.5.6. On a side note, on my laptop, I've got OS 10.4.9 installed and FCP 6.0.5 and Log and Transfer works fine. I'm thinking it might be an OSX version problem because this has happened on another Mac laptop that has 10.5.6 on it. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm kind of at wits end....pulling my hair out kind of deal!
    Thanks for any input!!

    Hi David,
I have 4GB Ram installed, and the footage is P2 Cam footage that was copied on to the hard drives during the shoot. I transferred the P2 footage with Duel Adapter, not from the camera directly. Some of it is also AVCHD footage from mini HD cam. I've been using my laptop (Macbook Pro, OS 10.4.11, 2G Ram with FCP 6.0.5 installed) to bring in footage, and Log and Transfer works fine with the same footage but doesn't work with this iMac. I was hoping to stop using my laptop so I can do everything on just the iMac.

  • SGD 4.6 audit logging question

When using audit logging and filters, how often is a new log file automatically created? I'm interested in preserving the audit data and need to know when the file gets recreated.
    Thanks.

By default, the logs are archived once a week via a crontab entry (Sunday, 0300, by default) - this option is set at install time, can be changed by running tarantella setup, or you can alter the crontab entry directly.
See "7.2.3.6 Automatic Log Archives" in the admin guide - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26362_01/E26354/html/sgd-installation.html#sgd-installation-full-restore and
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26362_01/E26354/html/tta-archive.html for a description of the archive command.
The archive command closes out the current log files, and compresses/summarizes them, and stores them in a numbered sub-directory under the "logs" directory, and opens news ones. Once closed out, you can no longer "query" the logfiles from the command line. Note that there are a limited number of archives maintained - 7 sets, I believe, is the default.
Have a look at the "archive" command under .../bin/scripts to see how it works.

  • Log and transfer issues or xml settings issues

    Hi All
I dont know if this is a problem for anyone else.
This problem arises from log and transfer of red footage.
    1. In version FCP6 the xml created from fcp for flame was absolutely fine.
    2. Since we loaded 7 the xml keeps making the file name the folder name ...ie
A001C011040745, but when i generate my xml for flame it looks for A001_0407VQ.RDM.
I have loaded a xml from version 6 into 7 and redone the xml but its fine.
This only seems to happen with log and tx in version 7????
and this is across 4 x version fcp 7 machines.
any help will be good thanks

You said you have some FCP6 sets still.
I don't think there is a fix (other than sending [Feedback to Apple|http://www.apple.com/feedback/finalcutpro.html].
But you can do some troubleshooting yourself.
Export an XML 4 from FCP7.
    Import that in FCP 6
Export an XML 4 from this new FCP6 project.
Does the FCP6XML4 import properly in Flame?
If so, then open both XMLs with a texteditor and compare the two.
You can use the free [Textwrangler|http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler> application for an automatic comparison.
It might be that Flame is choking in a header only and that changing the header will fix this. I'd also give Flame (Discreet? AutoDesk?) some feedback about this problem.
