Consuming a Webservice & 'bapi_transaction_commit' in adobe form

Hi All,
I am working on a scenario wherein i am consuming a webservice in an offline adobe form.
This webservice is a function module exposed as webservice.
Now if i attempt to use following statement in my Function Module:
call function 'bapi_transaction_commit'.
This webservice stops returning me the response from Function Modules, Any clues on this front??
Any inputs would be of great help!!
Thanks,
Amita

Hello Amita,
SAP recommends using BAPI_Transaction_Commit and not using Commit Work in the BAPI to  control transation in a "client" system.
but its up to you to decide how you want to do it.

  • WebService Calls in Adobe Forms Offline Scenario

    Hi,
I think this topic was discussed, but I have a very specific question.
I need to create an interactive form to be used in an offline scenario but consuming a webservice from an ABAP backend on user request.
I understand you need to create and configure the web service on ABAP side using SOAMANAGER, and you need to create a data connection using the binding WSDL in the Forms Designer.
For security reasons I would like to have a basic authentication at least. According to several blog entries this should be possible.
Now the dilemma: it seems that in SOAMANAGER you can only create a web service with basic authentication using HTTPS.
BUT: Adobe Life Cycle Designer does not support HTTPS.
The only option to not use authentication at all is not an option for me.
So, does anybody have the same problem and a solution?
Is SOAMANAGER changed that way or did I just not find the right configuration possibilities?
If it is that restrictiveL since when? It was different in NW 7.0, SP 14. I am currently working with SP 18.
Please respond if you can provide any helpful insight.
    Michael

I hope you are putting the code in the click event of a a custom Regular button and not using the one that can be drag-drop from the connectionset.
Try sap-username as parameter instead of sap-user in above code statement.
    var cURL = "http://....?sap-client=<client no>&sap-username=<username>&sap-password=<password>" ;

  • "Error attempting to read file" at Webservice call from Adobe Form.

    Hi Experts,
We have designed a Webservice form a Function Module in ECC 6.0, In the soamanager transaction the webservice works fine. But at the time of call from the Adobe form, it gives an error stating that "Error attempting to read from file" and then the URL of the Webservice to be excuted.
and if i attempt to open that file, it gives me this error:
    - <soap-env:Envelope xmlns:soap-env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
      <soap-env:Header />
    - <soap-env:Body>
    - <soap-env:Fault>
      <faultcode>soap-env:Server</faultcode>
      <faultstring xml:lang="en">SRT: Wrong Content-Type and empty HTTP-Body received</faultstring>
    - <detail>
    - <ns:SystemFault xmlns:ns="http://www.sap.com/webas/710/soap/runtime/abap/fault/system/">
      <Host>undefined</Host>

    - <ChainedException>
      <Exception_Name>CX_SOAP_CORE</Exception_Name>

      </ns:SystemFault>
      </detail>
      </soap-env:Fault>
      </soap-env:Body>
      </soap-env:Envelope>
In case I give my user the "SAP_ALL" role, this all works fine, so i think it is somewhere related to a missing role to be assigned.
    any clues..??
any help would be appreciated, Please help..
    Thanks,
    Amita

    Hi Juergen,
I am using it as a WSDL based data connection.
How do i check this WSDL through a web browser? I have checked it through SICF Transaction code, It gives the output in explorer as given in the first post of this thread..
Please help me resolving this issue, i feel that this issue is somewhere related to the role assignment of the user as if i provide this user an authorization of SAP_ALL then everything starts working fine, but after removing SAP_ALL this error is encountered, do u hav any pin points on this??
    Thanks

  • Executing a WebService in Online Adobe Form

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue while executing the webservice from an application developed inWDJava, that contains an Adobe Form. This Adobe Form is required to execute webservice, and this form has 2 input fields say First Name & last name. When i fill in the first name and last name fields in the application itself and attempt to execute the webservice, i don't get my response fields back.
But in case i download my form from that WDJava online application, and then try to execute the service, i get back the results.
*I am using Adobe Designer: 8.0
    Adobe Reader: 9.0*
    Any pointers to this..??
    Any ideas would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Amita

Call the webservice, and use the call to fill up a variable. It will then drop the return value, be it a structure or whatever into your local variable. Like this :
    var response = SOAP.request ({
         cURL: url,
         oRequest: request,
         cAction: "http://adobe.com/ES/GetMaterials",
         oAuthenticate: authentication });

  • Webservice from static adobe form

    Hi,
My requirement is to call the web service when users opens the static adobe form. can this be possible and how?
    Thanks in advance.
    Pooja

Have you enabled Show Console on errors and warnings in Adobe reader. You can find this property under
    Edit -> Preferences -> JavaScript
Once you have enabled the above mentioned checkbox, it will show you error.
We have integrated WS with Adobe forms and these forms are opened using Adobe reader.
So that is not the case. It should work with both.
You said, you created the Adobe form using LiveCycle designer and integrated the WS in it. I think it is the issue, you have to design the form using SFP and activate. Try this, it may work.

  • Attach ADOBE form to transaction code.

    Dear All,
I have a solution to be implemented wherein I need to attach an offline Interactive Abobe form to a transaction code.
The scenario is the end user has access to this custom transaction code which when he executes should open the form for him. He would then fill in the contents and submit it which would trigger an custom workflow process.
We do not wish to use WebDynpro application and hence would appreciate if any useful information is provided.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kavita D.

I am not sure if that is what you want, but what I would do:
    1) create a transaction code
    2) create a printing program (trivial), set printing settings to immediate preview
    3) create an interface and adobe form layout
    4) link the transaction and the program together, now when a person runs the transaction, the printing proram gets triggered and as an output it provides a blank (or pre-filled) adobe form
    5) now you have the UI ready but miss the way how to trigger the WF from the form
    6) to get 5) you need to create a web service and connect the webservice with your adobe form, there are plenty resources on how to do this
    7) you should be able to trigger the workflow through a simple adobe form protected as a custom transaction
    Hope that suits your needs,
    cheers Otto

  • Problem consuming a webservice with Adobe Interactive Form

    Hello
    everyone
I make a Web Service based on a function in ABAP (RFC) when I try to create the data connection in Adobe form, an error is displayed. "there is no associated SOAP binding"
Can anyone tell me how can I modify the WSDL so that it can be read by Adobe
    Best Regards
    Leonardo Vásquez

You need to use SOAMANAGER transaction , search for your Web Service and then download the WSDL from there.

  • How to pass multiple items in Adobe forms to a Webservice

    Hello, all.
I'm trying to create Interactive Form to create a sales order in R/3.
Please somebody tell me how to pass the multiple line item data to the Webservice.
For example, the Webservice I'm using was generated from BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFORMDAT2.
The BAPI has tables for item data in sales order.
However, when I create the form with table for item data, the only last line of the table is passed to the Webservice.
How can I create Adobe forms to pass multiple line item to the Webservice.

    Hi,
I have worked on the same application for the creation sales order and has used the same BAPI.
You should first extract the data from the table node through the method "get_static_attributes_table" and take all the result into a table of type same as element of that particular node.
Now pass the data from this table into the internal table of type as mentioned in the BAPI using work area.
And pass this table to BAPI.
    This will work .

    Shruti

Can you please suggest me the procedure to overcome the below issue.
I am calling the Webservice from my interactive adobe form.
When ever i click on the Submit button on my form, it is triggering the webservice but asking for the login details for authentication in the popup.
In the real time scenario i will not be having any user id and passwords. So, I don't want this popup.
What do i need to follow to get this done.

  • ADOBE FORMS using Webservice

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem with Adobe Forms Using webservice.  I created  RFC where it saves data from Adobe Forms to a customized table and exposed it as webservice.  From the SOA manager, I copied the generated link pasted in the dataconnection in Adobe Lifecycle designer, but whenever I generate the form I keep receiving this error:
"http:// erpwrk1.corp.com:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DFA46DE60CFOD33F19F21005056C00008/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=001".  Check that the path is correct and that the file is a valid wsdl file.
I already activated services from SICF in relation SOAP runtime.   What could be the cause of the problem and how to fix the problem?
    Thanks A Lot!
    Mae

    Hi Ma. Angelica A. Estacio,
From the SOA manager, I copied the generated link pasted in the dataconnection in Adobe Lifecycle designer, but whenever I generate the form I keep receiving this error:  Check that the path is correct and that the file is a valid wsdl file and hence i cannot finish the data connection wizard.
From the above posts, it looks like you have resolved the issue. But can you please let me know how did you resolve it ?
Did you check any SAP transaction to find the above mentioned checkbox?
Please revert as this has become critical now.
You can mail me your response on [email protected]

  • Adobe Form Calling WebService Doesnu00B4t work with Adobe Reader 7

    Hi experts,
We have created and adobe form that simulates a PM Notification in which the user, without logging into SAP, through an RFC and WebServices can create the notification into SAP.
This process only works with Adobe Reader 9 and not with Adobe Reader 7.
Can anyone tell me what main difference/component/functionality does Adobe Reader 9 have that Adobe Reader 7 doesn´t?
When I call the Webservice through the form in Adobe 7, a pop-up message appears that says:
"Error attempting to read from file.
    http://desaecc6.codelco.cl:8001/sap/bc/rfc/sap/zi_aviso_adobe_pm12/222/zi_aviso_adobe_pm12/zi_aviso_adobe_pm12"
Any ideas why this error ocurrs only in Adobe Reader 7?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Fernando Montenegro

    Hello,
I cannot tell what are the exact differencies between the version. But I can tell you should always use (at least try to use the newest Reader). I guess you´re not the only developer on Forms, so there are possibly more people depending on the version of the client browser/ Reader. There is a solution for this problem, which does not ask anything from you, only the user.
You can easily test the Reader version through JS coding and act based on the result. I use this like this "if your Reader is lower than 8.1" then "message popup = We are sorry, your Reader is too old, this form won´t work for you. Please upgrade first.". It takes like 5 minutes (10 for lame users at max) to update his Reader.
Maybe you should this about such a test, if the user passes the test, his application won´t have any problem, if not there is no guarantee. And YOU have no problem, nobody tells you "hey sir, your form is not working, I´m not gonna pay you".

  • How to create a Webservice for Adobe Form(I need Coding)?

    Hi,
I need coding for Webservice inorder to define the context structure for Adobe Form.
    In AdobeForm:
    1) I create a dataconnection and while creating it i need to give WSDL Url.
    2) I have created it.
    3) But iam not getting the Context structure in the Dataview.
For this wht coding i need to write in WSDL File?
Any Help is Highly aprreciated with Points.
    Very urgent requirement?

    Hi,
I'm not exactly sure what your problem is.
A description on how to call web services can be found in my blog:
    /people/juergen.hauser2/blog/2008/02/25/using-web-services-with-sap-interactive-forms-by-adobe-overview-tips
If you are facing an issue with what is displayed in the data view for the WSDL data connection (i.e you are missing nodes) you could try to use Designer 8.0 instead since it cotains bug fixes in that area.

  • Adobe form as PDF string in Webservice importing parameter

    Hello Experts,
Can you please clarify the below issue.
    I have created a webdynpro.
I have placed an interactive form on one of it's view.
And kept one Submit button(Execute type) on the form to trigger one webservice.
This webservice has the importing parameter as the PDFSTRING.
So my requirement is to pass the entire form with filled values to the webservice importing parameter. I will be storing this PDF string in some tables.
What scripting i need to use in the form for getting this done.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ram.

    Hi Sai,
    Thanks for ur input.
My requirement is not exactly the string with XML data, but the string with PDF data.
I will try to explain my requirement here in detail.
I have the adobe form triggering from the webdynpro. This form has different objects like, text fields, dropdowns, check boxes, radio buttons...etc and one SUBMIT button for which webservice is attached in the properties.
User will fill all the fields and clicks on SUBMIT. When he clicks on the SUBMIT, the webservice should attach the filled PDF document at partner level.
For this purpose, i need the string with PDF data and not the XML.
WIth this PDF string again i should be able to re generate the PDF document which was filled by the user.
If string with PDF data is not possible, Please suggest me the possible way of achieving this?
    Regards,
    Ram.

  • Webservices in Adobe form fails even when it works fine in Portals.

    Hi All,
I am new to web services in adobe form, can somebody help me to understand the reason of failing web service call in my adobe form.
We are working on a simple adobe form with a simple webservice.  the web service is in SAP CRM 7.0 and we are designing the form in Livecycle designer stand alone not through SFP tcode.
problem is when we execute the web service from adobe form nothing happens.
There is no script in the adobeform to check if the web serive is called. the technical team claims there is no hit happening to the service. but when we execute the same web service with in a simple web dynpro app in portal it does work.
earlier we had some similar forms with web service which used to work, now they are also not working from adobeform.
Are we missing something, when importing/data connection  a webservice how do we make sure from the form that the connection and trigger are successful.
Please let me know if you need any more information.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sai Krishna.

    Hi All,
Just a small update on the query I posted.
I searched tru and found couple of posts in Adobe fourm which says
Adobe readers cannot execute web services, to do so we need to have Reader Extension on the Adobe reader.
Is this the problem for my form, if i just dont understand why such restrictions for developers at the design time itself..?
    Regards,
    Sai Krishna.
