Consumption of PI Webservices in EP

I have a created a webservice in PI how can i consume those webserivce in Enterprise Portal in UWL.
Share if there is any specific documents...

there is a option of import WSDL in Netweaver developer studio.

Hi ,
    I need your valuable ideas in overcoming the problem mentioned below.
    This problem relates to consumption of a webservice from ABAP - Client Proxy without XI. The system is WAS 6.40.
I had created a client proxy (along with the corresponding methods) using a WSDL file pasted below. I had also created a logical port for the proxy class generated.
When I test the interface for one of the methods , I get the following error message.

              Thanks for your prompt reply. I tried changing in the WSDL file the SOAP action parameters (http) like you said and still I got the same error message while testing the interface.
              I have corrected the problem by trying a different approach. Earlier I used file option for Client Proxy creation and I got the error message.
Now I created the Client Proxy by using the option URL/HTTP destination ( which was also showing errors earlier but it is OK now after our Network Specialists opened the concerned port.)
                Your reply was usefull as it helped me to check the "Soap Action" in the "OPERATIONS" tab of the "LOGICAL PORT" for the client proxy. I have awarded the points for that.
                I have seen your Blogs and the your replies to the questions in this form. I would like to thank you and all the like minded contributors of this forum. Keep up the good work.

How to use CE?

    I have a requirement as explained below.
   AS-IS:
   In ECC, when a new reservation is created via MB21 transaction, a MRESCR Idoc is triggered and sent to third party end user via XI.
   ECC ---> XI --> Third Party End User
To-BE:
Now in the new requirement, when a new reservation is created, in addition to sending the IDOC to third party end user, I want to store the reservation number, date/time and status in a custom table in cross app SAP system. After some time the end user sends reservation confirmation PIP 3B12C which I want get it in the cross app SAP system and update the status in the custom table.
              ---> XI --> Third Party End User
ECC ---|
              ---> Xapp SAP System (RFC call will be made from ECC to Xapp)
Third Party End User ---> Xi -
> Xapp SAP System (Reservation confirmation)
But now my design reviewers are in the opinion that CE can be used here. How can we use CE(composition environment) to implement the TO-BE requirement and avoid storing data in cross app SAP system?
Can somebody provide me some inputs?

Here In CE we have different layers.So to avoid storing data in xApps, decide UI technology using by third party and then develop the application which will expose as a webservice and consume it by UI.
Example scenorio: to fetch/store data to ECC just use CAF(external RFC consumption) to generate Webservice.And use this webservice in front end like webdynpro/VC/Adobe etc.
All the technologies mentioned above comes under CE

Setting up a webservice url for consumption in browser

I am new at webservices and all this fancy stuff...
I managed to set up a webservice wrapper in NW Developer
Studio for my stateless session bean endpoint creating an order in our 3rd party erp system.
So far so good, I ceated a client proxy and a client jsp for testing purposes, and that works as well.
But I cant manage to find out how to call it directly
from a web browser, so that it posts the order and
returns with the result string. I tried the following:

Hi Matthias,
What you did is correct. You need to create client proxy and some front end application to call your web service. You cannot directly call any web services without doing all these things.
Url you have given is WSDL of your web service. Based on this description you need to create proxy for that. You cannot directly communicate with that.

Webservice Consumption from ABAP without XI

Im trying to consume a webservice which I got from ESB(IBM) team. Basically I got a wsdl file.
First I have created a proxy from SE80 by uploading this wsdl file and I have activated sucessfully.
Second from SOA Manager I have created Logical port for this wsdl file.
Finally I wrote one ABAP program to consume webservice and got the return message.
Now for this I have few doubts.
1) Because I'm uploading WSDL file manually, in future if there is any change in the webservice do i need to upload new wsdl file again?
2) In the wsdl file endpoints like URL will change from dev to qa and prod. If that is the case, from SAP how can we transport from dev to Quality to Prod? Do we need to manually change those urls? How can we transport to different servers?
3)suppose I have uploaded 2 wsdl files. And in SOA manager I have created logical ports with the same name. Then in our program how can we call the right service as there are two logical ports with the same name?

It depends of the changes. Suppose, one optional input parameter has been added in the wsdl, and you don't need this parameter from the client side. You would not need to regenereate the client proxy from the new wsdl. But if you want to play it safe, regenerate the proxy each time the wsdl is modified.
It should not change every day !

This is runtime configuration that you have to do manually in each system. It cannot be transported and should not as it would have no meaning.

It would be a bad idea to create 2 different logical ports with the same name but if you do, thare will be no confusion because the logical port is defined for the client proxy.

When i click on Ping Webservice, it is returning the message as ping is successfull.
When through ABAP also i am not facing any error.
But where do i check data that is going to that URL

1.Go to NetWeaver Administrator.
2.Choose Role SOA Management --> Destination Template Mangement
3. Choose the Service Client

I think there is a problem with the proxy setting but u can try with some other standard available service.
in the web service navigator, select a standard service and test it.
import the model to ur web dynpro component and execute the model.
please follow the vital things specified in the document like creating a communication profile , provider system......

Error in WebServices Consumption - There are multiple root elements

I am working on consuming webservice which has a WSDL to get the RouteDetails with a structure like:

When I am calling the method RouteDetails of the proxy I created, I am getting the error 'There are multiple root elements in line 1 column 178 and the column is indicating <HouseNumber> in <Destination> node.
Please let me know how to overcome this.

Hi,
You need to create the Adaptive Webservice Model.
After that you need to create the destination for this WebService in the below location of Visual Admin.
services>WebServiceSecurity>Dynamic WebService Proxies-->Click on Create button.
And you need to give this destination in the properties of Webservice Model.

Webservice consumption in WDA

Hi all,
I need to consume a third party webservice in ABAP webdynpro component. For this first I have consumed the webservice by giving the wsdl url path using the option Enterprise services-> Webservice but finally throws the following error
"Proxy-Generierung: Fehler aufgetreten
Exception occurred in library handler
Not implemented"
Any possible solutions for the above error or links regarding consuming third party webservice in to WDA component will be rewarded...

There is nothing specific about consuming Web Services in WDA. The Proxy Generation is just a normal ABAP piece of functionality. The proxy class can be called from WDA like any normal ABAP class. There are lots of links within SDN on consuming services in ABAP. If you are getting an error with the process of generation I suggest that you post your question in one of the main ABAP forums since the functionality is not WDA specific.

Consuming a webservice in ABAP ECC 6.0 without using XI/ PI

Hi Experts,
I wanted to consume an external webservice without using XI / PI.After doing my homework and search on sdn I came to know that we can consume webservices in ABAP using proxies using SE80(Enterprise Services).
I am trying to create a client proxy with the URL of webservice.It asks me the option to choose between URL or HTTP.
I am selecting URL and in the second screen it asks about the package details and after that it finishes.Later I get an error message stating "NO VENDOR SPECIFIED".Its not allowing me to create a proxy.
So, here are my questions.
Does anyone faced the same kind of problem?
Can we really consume a webservice without using XI / PI or any other middleware?
Is it possible to consume the webservice only with URL or WSDL file ?
Please let me know the exact process.

Consuming a webservice - 2

Ok - so through the whole thread of the original post out the
window.
As it turns out Crystaltech does not allow you to call the
cfc directly
from their server. It MUST be invoked from another file.
Which is why
the error when browsing
http://www.femsa.org/cfc/getMembers.cfc.
Ok so that is odd - maybe secure -dunno.
So now I have mad the cfc as simple as possible and I have
confirmed
that you can invoke it from the same server, another server
in their
network, and in fact a server outside their network.
Now to the troubles at hand..........

Any idea why the EXACT same function - differing only in name

work one way but not the other? In order to rule out an

issue, there is a new application.cfm file in the cfc folder
with the
simple contents of <cfset mebe=""> - nothing else.

do you connect to internet via proxy? if yes you have to either code proxy authentication or simply maintain it in transaction SICF.
go to
SICF->client->proxy settings
go to http_log tab
host name: proxyhost.domain.com
port: <portno>
user - > proxy user id
pwd -> proxy pwd and save it .
and this setting is per client , so you have to do that for all clients.

How to consume a ABAP webservice in a webdynpro app?

Hi,
I have a BAPI in ABAP that is exposed as a webservice. I want to use this to build a webdynpro app so that i can consume this webservice. This BAPI returns the Employee data. As soon as the person logs into the portal i am going to pass his login id to this BAPI so that it retrieves the Employee data for that user id. But i need to know the procedure of consuming this webservice in a webdynpro app. Any pointers in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

Consumption of a web service is univesal I guess so it wont matter if it is an ABAP webservice. For consumtion of webservice in Web Dynpro you can go through the following tutorials
