Contact Sheet - PDF

I need to turn in a PDF of my contact sheet for an assignment. I was shown how to in class (on MAC) but I'm on PC at home. Haven't had much luck figuring it out. When I go to the print or printers option I do not see any PDF options.

When you click the pint button do you not get the dialog to choose your printer and then select print to file? Do you not see a PDF option?
It depends on your set up. Some systems only have options to send to fax or XPS document writer. If you have the option to send to One Note you can create a PDF from there.
The work around is to change the selection in LR under Print Job. Click the drop-down icon next to Print to: and change from printer to jpeg File. Then click the Print to File Button. Go to your saved jpeg and open it in a Microsoft application like word and choose File >> Save As. Then select PDF as the file type.

  • Contact sheet pdf in lightroom

I was recently shown how to create contact sheet pdf's in Lightroom 4 which could be emailed to clients onto which they could comment and return. All this without the need for more software or so i thought. I cannot seem to make it work. What software is needed and what do I need to do?  Many thanks.

I found this a little awkward but to do this I first had to change the Print Settings dialog, selecting the "Save as Adobe PDF" option depicted here. Nothing appears to happen at this point but then when you next Print your contact sheet will be wherever you selected in "Save as Adobe PDF". Just thought I'd add this in case anyone else has trouble as I did tonight. It's likely you've all figured it out by now AND are using a diff version of LR, as am I (5.7 for Mac).

  • Convert a Contact Sheet (.pdf form) to jpeg?

I created a contact sheet on Adobe Bridge CS5. I want to save it as jpeg format, but it will only allow me to save it in pdf format. How can I change it to JPG...if it is at all possible?

You could possibly open the .PDF file in Photoshop then File - Save As a JPEG....

  • Photoshop Help | Contact Sheets and PDF Presentations in CS6

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/contact-sheet-pdf-presentation-cs6.html

If I understand your question you want to repeat one image 8 times in one signle page PDF. I do not know for such script that is available. What I can recommend you is to create manually layout in Photoshop and save as PDF. To automate proccess and use same layout but to replace image which is in use with some other, you can use Variables or Actions. Thats only advice I can give you at this time. Actually easiest way to automate things and replace images is to Create Smart Object then to clone it 7 times (Ctrl + J or right click > Duplicate Layer). When you have cloned Smart Objects, replacing content in one of Smart Object will reflect to all other clones. Create layout. When you want to replace existing image with some other use right click on Smart Object > Replace Contents or Layer > Smart Objects > Replace Contents.. Be aware of image (which will replace existing) size and resolution, Photoshop will also scale image which will replace existing to match existing image scaling in percentage. Read this tutorial for more explanation how Replace Contents works http://adobephotoshopsecrets.blogspot.com/2011/01/replace-contents-command-in-adobe.html

  • New PDF Contact Sheet help

    Hi,
I am trying to use Automator to create a simple application that takes a set of images and creates a pdf contact sheet.
When I create an application in automator with the New PDF Contact Sheet action and run it, I get an error "There was an error in processing the images (-2700) in the log. What gives - how do I solve this error? This is the only action, aside from the "Get Specified Finder Items" action.
Oddly, it seems that the contact sheet pdf is getting created and placed in the Pictures folder. But the final result of a pdf in the location specified by the action is not getting created.
    Thanks

I have found a work around solution, which i think maybe the origin of the problem. You will need to also install a work flow app called Life-Poster. by Jim Heid. Below is the link.
When i installed that and used the New PDF Contact Sheet a noticed a new app in the doc called MakePDF. And the rest of my workflow worked perfectly as it did in Leopard. It seems that apple has either left out this makePDF app out of snow leopard or made a change to it in some way it is not recognized or called properly in the New PDF Contact Sheet Action.

  • Metadata in a contact sheet

Hello! I'm using Bridge CS4 for image research projects. This is all fine and good for inputting info. However, others on the project don't have time to launch photoshop to look at every bit of metadata I'm inputting. They like print outs.
Is there ANY way to get the metadata into a contact sheet PDF? Meaning- Thumbnail of image, file name, and related metadata info.
It seems like such an obvious need for cataloging images.
I've been searching for 3 hours and need to get this out today.
    Thanks,
    Anthony
PS: Using Mac Master Collection CS4

Not to my knowledge, you can only choose to show the filename, either with
    or without extension.
However you can choose to create a Web galery using the same Adobe Output
Module as a PDF contact sheet but then choose Web gallery. Choose for the
template journal with filmstrip or journal with slideshow. This show a
number of metadata, sadly enough you can't choose what to show
You should be able to upload this to a web server and that would save a lot
    of prints
However I have zero to none experience with web gallery and if you
experience problems you should do a forum search for web gallery, there are
    some interesting about this subject

  • Selecting multiple folders to make a contact sheet

When creating a contact sheet in Bridge CS4, is it possible to select multiple folders so that you can pull multiple images? I tried saving a contact sheet pdf while selecting the folders, but Bridge is requesting that I select the files within the folder. It would seem counterproductive to extract all my images from all the folders to place them in a single location just to make a contact sheet. I hope I'm just missing something basic.
    Thanks

The only thing I can think of for this purpose is to use the option to show
items from subfolders (in the View menu) and have a flat view for the whole
content of the mainfolder containing the desired subfolders.
If you have only a view items from subfolders instead of the whole content
from that subfolder you are bound to use either labeling or rating and
    select them with filterpanel options.
And there is some other thing that comes to my mind, open them in PS and
choose the option to create contactsheet from open files.
However it is to my knowledge not possible to select items from different
folders in one time, neither in Finder, nor in Bridge.

  • Making a "details" view contact sheet

I'm trying to make a contact sheet PDF, but have the images displayed in the "details" mode. Is there a way to do this?

    Hi Navarro,
As you can see, your thread has been viewed over thirty times.  It seems that no one knows the answer.
My feeling is that, if it's possible at all, it would have to be done through scripting.  Tried the Bridge Scripting forum yet?

  • How can I create a PDF contact sheet of photos in finder

I'm trying to create an automator workflow/action (or service) that will allow me to select a set of photos in the finder and then create a PDF contact sheet that will include the Photo filename. I know that I can select photos and open in preview, but these do not include the filename with the photo in the saved PDF.
I'm a newbie with Automator, but i gave it a try myself.
In the Automator PDF Library, there is an action called "New PDF contact sheet", however I can't seem to be able to get it to work. I dragged that action to the workflow and then added "Get Selected Finder Items" before that.
It appears to run it--an "application"/window appears titled "MakePDF" and it appears to run through the selected photos. However, at the end (after it asks for the file name to save it with), it says that "The action “New PDF Contact Sheet” encountered an error--check the actions properties and try running the workflow again".
What am I leaving out of the workflow?

There is a bug in the *New PDF Contact Sheet* action in that it is looking for the Leopard version of a file that moved and changed in Snow Leopard.
Snow Leopard has a newer version of a support application MakePDF.app in the */System/Library/Image Capture/Automatic Tasks* folder, but as mentioned the *New PDF Contact Sheet* action seems to still require the older version of the application, which in Leopard is located in the */System/Library/Image Capture/Tools* folder. If you have access to a Leopard installation, you can copy the MakePDF.app from Leopard and place it into the same location in Snow Leopard (/System/Library/Image Capture/Tools) - this will get the action working again.

  • How to view a multipage PDF in the form of a contact sheet?

There are plenty of discussions over how to place a multipage PDF into an InDesign document ONE PAGE PER PAGE. But I fail to find out if there is a way (within a CS2 environment) to place a multipage PDF continuously as "thumbnails" either 1 : 1, or scaled down, filling each page in the document in a way similar to the Data Merge tool, for example - so as to create a contact sheet of the PDF pages.
The only way I see is to place the PDF the usual way, export the document as individual images, and then make a contact sheet using Bridge or Photoshop - which I find rather inconvenient.
    Any hint, please?
    Thank you, Pataka

In Acrobat Pro print to Adobe PDF.
In the settings for Layout choose for instance
    16 pages per paper sheet.
One get's a PDF with one or more new pages,
which can be placed in ID if necessary.
    Sometimes that's called printing N-up, here 16-up.

  • Creating pdf contact sheets at screen resolution using aperture/photoshop

Can anyone advise me on how to create a pdf document of contact sheets- low resolution [72 screen res]that is less time consuming than the present work flow described below?
At present I export jpegs 450pxl 72dpi from aperture. create contact sheets in photoshop and then
create a pdf in photoshop. Average number of images per client is approx 800-1000,
The pdf I have created with aperture has a resolutuin of 300dpi- which is a large file to email etc. I have tried reimporting the 450pxl jpegs but aperture still creates the document at 300dpi.
    Is it possible ...
1/. to solely use aperture to create low res pdf's
2/. If not is it possible to create an action in photoshop [or use automator] to speed up the process described above?
I do have a little experience using actions in photoshop but am by no means an experienced user.

Awesome! I didnt even know aperture could do that
Now another quick question on this topic, if im using RAW files, does aperture need to convert the file to jpeg or tiff (like it does if you export version as jpeg)?
If it does, that may be a problem as it takes forever for aperture on my macbook to convert raws and save as jpegs, like a good minute or two per photo, and if i have 200odd photos....not good, people will crack it waiting and leave.
Or does it print as raw? Cause im pretty sure my printer (or any printer) can not print raw files. Will try it tonight on my printer but a heads up will be useful.
I could just shoot in hi-res jpeg, but id rather shoot raw incase they want a large poster size print etc.
    Thanks.

  • Lightroom 5.4 and Acrobat XI Pro - print contact sheet to PDF not working

Since upgrading to Lightoom 5 and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, I have been unable to print a contact sheet to PDF. Although it goes through the motions of rendering and providing a "save as" dialog box, nothing is produced. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply. The following are my system specs. This feature has worked in the past but since upgrading from LR4 to LR5, this feature has stopped working. I can print to a printer, but not to a PDF.
    HP Z800 Workstation
    Duel Intel Xeon X5670 @ 2.93GHz Processors
    18 GB RAM
    Windows 7 Professional
    Lightroom 5.4
    Acrobat XI Pro (Version 11.0.06.70)
It will go through the motions, as if it is creating the PDF, but it doesn't output anything. I've restarted Lightroom and rebooted my system, but nothing seems to help.
