Contact sheets and version name

When making a contact sheet, is it possible to just have the image number under each photo and NOT the words "Version Name"?
Thanks.

Hi John Cardamone;
When I saw your question I had thought I had seen it before and was wondering if there was an answer on the other posting. So I did a search which brought up your seven posting of the same question that is all.

  • Contact page and Version name question

When making a contact sheet, is it possible to just have the image number under each photo and NOT the words "Version Name"?
    Thanks.

I'm trying to find out whether this is possible as well. It's annoying having "Version Name" print out on something I'd like to show a client!

  • Contact sheets with file names. How?

Looks like I can only print out contact sheets without file names. How come?

Because you didn't look hard enough. Make sure you check "Photo Info" and the click on the popup next to it and select filename or setup a custom text in Edit..

  • How to print contact sheet with file names

I want to print a photo contact sheet with file names. Is this possible with any standard Mac app?

I'd like to print the Album name at the top of each contact sheet I produce from that album - is this possible within iphoto '08 or do I need to print to a pdf and then edit that pdf with acrobat pro for example.

  • Questions Re: (1) Creating Contact Sheets, and (2) Editing photos

    Hello,
I have two questions about iPhoto '09:
    (1) Regarding the creation of a contact sheet, how do I select more than one photo at a time?!? I open up my photos, click on a photo to choose it. If I try to click the next photo I want on the contact sheet, the first one is un-chosen. I click File > Print > Contact Sheet, and sure enough, only the most-recently chosen photo is the only one on the sheet.
(I have tried Edit > Select All > Print > Contact Sheet, but [as is implied in the "all" part of Select All], of course this results in a contact sheet full of photos I don't want.)
    (2) Sometimes when I pick a photo to edit, click the Edit icon at the bottom of the window, get the enlarged pic and start editing, none of my changes show up i in the enlarged image. But when I click "Done," the changes are there in the image in the album. This is annoying, since while editing, I have to click "Done" to see the effect of a change every time I make one, and then start all over with the "Edit" icon, make more changes, click "Done" to see them, etc.
This does not happen with every photo. Weird.
Thanks, anyone, for ideas and help.

    (1) Regarding the creation of a contact sheet, how do I select more than one photo at a time?!?
The same as all Mac selections:
    - you can click on the first of a set of contiguous photos and then depress the shift key and click on the last of the set and select all photos from the first to the last
    - you can click and drag across a set of photo to select the set
    - you can click on a photo and then depress the command (apple) key and click on additional non-contiguous photos to select them
    - you can make an album of the photos you want and display the album and select all
and on and on and on - there are many, many ways to select multiple photos
    (2) Sometimes when I pick a photo to edit, click the Edit icon at the bottom of the window, get the enlarged pic and start editing, none of my changes show up i in the enlarged image. quit iPhoto and with the finder Delete your iPhoto preference file - "your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist - launch iPhoto and it will create a new default preference file, set any personal preferences you want and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it

  • Can't forward e mail is say's contact error and no names show up

since downloading the 9.0 firefox I have not been able to forward
e mail, it say's contact error and no names show up, this is very
upsetting since I e mail that is important to forward.

Oops, our posts crossed. The two main changes in Safe Mode would be: (1) disabling Firefox's use of hardware graphics acceleration, and (2) disabling all extensions. You can try to implement those manually in regular mode.
    '''(1) Hardware Acceleration'''
Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches with various display drivers.
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the "General" mini-tab, uncheck the box for "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If you restart Firefox, are any issues improved? I suggest keeping it disabled even if you do not see an immediate benefit.
    '''(2) Extensions'''
Disable ALL nonessential and/or unrecognized extensions. If in doubt, disable:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Then restart Firefox and test again.

  • Contact sheets - show version number or name in emailed images

My goal is to email contact sheets of an assignment to clients. I think I have worked this out by using the contact sheet facility in the print menu then saving as a PDF. If there is a better way I'd love to know. What I need now is to have the version number or caption name attached to each image so the client can identify an image. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

This works Kirby, thank you. The challenge now is getting a a large number of images onto a "contact sheet" that still look good but don't create a massive file that might overwhelm a client's computer. If I use the 72 res the photos are crappy. The 150 dpi gives reasonable quality but 6 images create a 10 MB file. There must be a way to get reasonable quality images into a reasonably sized file for emailing. Any thoughts?

  • Contact sheets and program error

Recently updated to CS3 but today is the first time I've tried to create Contact sheets. Whenever I run Automate/Contact Sheet II, PS goes through the process fine until it is completed and then up pops an error box "Could not complete your request because of a Program error." The box won't go away no matter how many times I click OK and I end up having to force quit PS and losing the contact sheets it just made.
I'm running OS 10.5.4 on a dual 2 ghz G5 with 2 gigs of RAM.
I heard font conflicts might be the problem, so I tried it with Suitcase turned off. Still happened.
I also reset PS preferences and created a new user. Still it happens.
I have not moved any Adobe folders. Any help would be most appreciated.

Many Apple applications rely on FontBook to show and manage fonts one way or the other as far as I know (like TextEdit, iLife and iWork - and yes, some of use DO use those as they are far more reliable than MS Office apps).
I used Suitcase until about six months ago and since OSX was born. Never hade ANY problems with it.
Before OS X I used ATM Dlx for many years - never had ANY problems with that either.
Before that I used an app which I've forgotten the name of and before that the then Suitcasee in its first incarnation. That's when you used the Font and DA mover to install and remove fonts.... Things have become easier actually when it comes to font management. Compared to then.
I do NOT use FAP. I've looked at now and again and never liked it. Just as I've looked at other font managers over the years. It's something about the UI that doesn't agree with my way of working.
At work we use FontBook, nothing else. "Work" is Scandinavia's largest daily newspaper and the fonts used are restricted and fixed and centrally decided upon (I work at the Mac Helpdesk). There is no need for activating and deactivating. Personally I stopped using Suitcase not because I had problems with it (never had problems with it) but because I do not really need a font manager nowadays (I did in my previous job at an Apple Centre where I was in charge of all courses, made my own materials, all printed matters, ads etc). I've reduced my number of active fonts to those I really use. The rest I keep elsewhere and only put in in case of need. The less fonts, the faster the apps are. And no need of a font manager.
Not every user needs a font manager. Only those who constantly activate and deactivate fonts do, which normally means people who work with clients one way or the other.
That does NOT mean that you have to activate and/or deactivate fonts via FontBook, just that it needs to be there. The rule is to never use FontBook for activation/deactivation of fonts if you are using another font manager. (You CAN however use it to look at the fonts placed in the ordinary fonts folders that need no activation to be used). And to never use more than one font manager ever regardless of which brand it has. Because they get in each others way. Just letting FontBook be there doesn't do a thing to another font manager. You can even use it for quick looks of fonts and font-info if you want to - as long as you don't activate or deactivate fonts through it when another font manager is present.
You DO need to remove fontcaches and to keep your fonts healthy - that does NOT mean that you need to remove FontBook. Most peoples aversion against FontBook stems from the very first version of it (I agree, that was sometimes a disaster). It has matured though over the years and only become better.

  • Contact Sheets and Real Workflows--Does Apeture work for you?

As a sports photographer I need to produce contact sheets quickly after culling my images. The contact sheets need to show: image id or file name, the event, the date, my copyright, and some other minor info such as number of photos. The contact sheet must contain images which are of variable size (i.e., the number of rows and columns must be able to be varied so that the images will be larger or smaller depending on my and the client's needs). In addition, the manipulation of images, esp. rotation, must be convienient (i.e., can be done in groups of images or as "SELECT ALL").
Right now I do not see any way to do this in Apeture. If not, I will never buy it as it does not meet my basic workflow needs. The sharpening, color correction, etc. manipulations only are needed after the client sees the work. Not all...not any have or are likely to have Apeture, so use of a printed contact sheet is an absolute. APPLE wake up and serve your customers.
Anyone out there have the same needs and view? What does Apeture need to make it work for people whose shoots produce 500 images which are culled down to 150 for client viewing?

You do not have to upgrade to Pages 5.5.2 and you still should have Pages '09 on your Mac unless you deliberately removed it.
You do not have to return your Mac "to factory" over a software update. If you just let us know specifically what your problems are maybe we can fix them.
You can find Pages '09 in your Applications/iWork folder. Continue using it.
Make sure you Rate/Review Pages 5.5.2 in the App Store.

  • Repaired library and version names are missing. How to get them back?

I'm sorry for the dumb question. I would think the answer is staring me in the face, but for the life of me I can't find it.
I repaired the library and now the version names do not appear with the photos in the library. I assume a simple preference was reset, but I can't find it anywhere to get the version names back. I must be blind.
    Help?

Ok. I knew if I looked hard enough I would find it.
In the lower right corner of the browser is the "Meta Data Overlays" pop up menu button. Click that and choose the meta data to appear in the browser.

  • Photoshop Help | Contact Sheets and PDF Presentations in CS6

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/contact-sheet-pdf-presentation-cs6.html

If I understand your question you want to repeat one image 8 times in one signle page PDF. I do not know for such script that is available. What I can recommend you is to create manually layout in Photoshop and save as PDF. To automate proccess and use same layout but to replace image which is in use with some other, you can use Variables or Actions. Thats only advice I can give you at this time. Actually easiest way to automate things and replace images is to Create Smart Object then to clone it 7 times (Ctrl + J or right click > Duplicate Layer). When you have cloned Smart Objects, replacing content in one of Smart Object will reflect to all other clones. Create layout. When you want to replace existing image with some other use right click on Smart Object > Replace Contents or Layer > Smart Objects > Replace Contents.. Be aware of image (which will replace existing) size and resolution, Photoshop will also scale image which will replace existing to match existing image scaling in percentage. Read this tutorial for more explanation how Replace Contents works http://adobephotoshopsecrets.blogspot.com/2011/01/replace-contents-command-in-adobe.html

  • Contact sheet and photomerge not working

I run Creative Cloud at a college and I'm trying to get the photo merge and contact sheet functions working in photoshop CC 2014
I can run it from an administrator account but not the student accounts, where permissions are limited. The students get a dialog box like the following:
This leads me to believe its a permissions error and I've run a procmon trace to try and find out where where the permissions need to be but I can't see anything that stands out. Is there a list of folders/filetypes that need to be able to run?

It seems to be using ExtendScript.dll according to procmon.
    It is trying to find:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Presets\Scripts\ContactSheetII\ContactSheetII_en_GB.dat.LNK
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Presets\Scripts\ContactSheetII\ContactSheetII_en_GB.dat
which both don't exist on the filesystem as there is no ContactSheetII folder containing them.
It tries to do this about 100 times before (I assume) failing

  • I need contact sheet and database.

I have a musician's referral service on a website and I need a way for the info they fill out on the contact sheet to be imported into a database. I need a fast and easy way to do this. It all seems so complicated to me, one not familiar with this technology. Any suggestions.

If you just want to save the contact info (from the website, which is the front-end, probably written in html) into a database, then using the above said Oracle XE and ApEX would be superfluous in my opinion. It involves multiple tiers and servers like database, web/http server etc, and as you said it is little complicated too.
But don't mistake me that I am discouraging you from using Oracle XE and ApEX, it’s like using a cannon for a mouse hunt :). At the same time, if you plan to develop your application/website into some kind of portal or bigger application, that involves more activity and transaction, then Oracle XE and ApEX would be the option to start with. Then you got to learn the technology or hire someone who knows the technology.
Also note that you can easily achieve your above said requirement with html and MS Access database or even with MS Excel spreadsheet, which is less complicated and easy to manage.
There are websites like www.elance.com where you can describe your requirement, there are individuals and companies who will study your requirement, provide you the system requirements, quote and methodology in implementing it.
    Hope it helps,
