Contacts and calendar won't sync.

Itunes page says contacts and calendar sync over the air thru Mobile mel. I don't use Mobile Me! Not since that colossal introduction nearly froze my phone. How do I get it changed back to a hard sync through itunes? And, Why can't I send mail using wifi only (with edge turned off) Works on my buddy's phone but not mine!

If you have deleted your MM email account from your iPhone and you have synced your iPhone with iTunes since - the email account settings should no longer be included with your iPhone's backup.
Sync your iPhone with iTunes followed by restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup. This must be followed by a sync. If your MM email account settings are restored with your iPhone's backup, this means something is wrong with your iPhone's backup. You can check this before syncing. Check under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences to see if syncing direct with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process is available again.
Did you transfer the email account settings for your Cox account from your Mac to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process? If so and after restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup doesn't resolve the sending problem with your Cox account, delete the account from your iPhone and try manually recreating the account. If this works, be sure to deselect transferring the account settings from your Mac to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process or any changes made when manually recreating the account on your iPhone will be overwritten.

  • Contacts and Calendar won't sync with Outlook

It seems that ever since the last upgrade to iTunes (8.1.1) my contacts and calendar won't sync.
I've tried all the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1692 up to and including uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes but, nothing has worked.
    Any help would be appreciated.

The contacts and calendar do sync into another user account but _only some of the records_.
ZoneAlarm. And there is no difference whether it is running or not.
    One odd thing:
In order to try to find which record(s) might be causing the problem I sorted my calendar on the "Date Created" field hoping to be able to go back in history and see exactly when things went wrong. Much to my surprise I found that the 13 most recent records did not sync to my iPhone. Then the next 2 did. Then the next 3 did not. Then 1 did. etc.

  • Contacts and calendar won't sync to iphone

So I just updated to 2.1, and then let the iphone sync. I noticed that changes that I made on iCal were not syncing to my iPhone, so I checked the boxes at the bottom of the info scree that said "replace information" for contacts and calendar. All of my contacts and calendars then disappeared from my iPhone, and I was flashed the "inconsistencies in your sync..." message. I had seen this message a couple days ago when I edited somethings on iCal but I didn't think anything of it.
So with no contacts or calendars I tried resyncing to no avail. I have restored the iPhone twice and still I get that dialogue box, and no contacts or calendar events synched to my iPhone.
Please help me...I don't know why this is happening.

yup, tried that to no avail. I made a new user account and the syncing works fine on that account but still doesn't work on my original account. Its not an iphone issue, but a user issue. I've been on the phone with apple care and they have no idea right now how to fix this. I will update if anything gets fixed. All help is welcome...thanks.

  • Contacts and calendars won't sync with Windows 7 PC

Just had to buy a new pc (only because my MacBook got stolen) and I set up the iCloud on the machine but my calendars and contacts will not sync with Outlook 2010.  Bookmarks, pictures will, but contacts and calendars say they cannot start the operation because of an unexpected error.  Any help out there?

  • "contacts and calendars cannot be synced" I just want my music, I already have contacts and calendars.

I got an iPhone 5c a little under a month ago, and haven't been able to put music on it since then. iTunes keeps trying to sync contacts and calendars, which I already have in place on the phone (via iCloud). However, when my I plugged my moms brand new 5c up to put music on it, it worked perfectly! I've compared our settings, and everything is the same. Please tell me what to do! I have the latest updates on both devices, and iTunes.

With my fingers crossed I uninstalled the updated iTunes that led to the problem.  Then went to the iTunes.com site to download the full version.  After the install was finished I connected the iPod and it detected and synced the iPod without any further issues.  I don't get the error, Contacts and calendars cannot be synced on the iPod "%1$S", any more.

  • Contacts and calendar have stopped syncing with latest updates

    Hello!
iPhone 4S / iOS 7.0.4 and Outlook 2010 - contacts and calendar have stopped syncing - phone syncs, but data doesn't update - Genuis bar in store couldn't help me.
Anyone else with this problem?  Do you have a solution?
iCloud is not a option due to limited WIFI access.
    Thank you
    Valerie

Do you use a Mac?  If so, see the note in the third paragraph:

  • Contacts and Calendar unable to sync

Yesterday my iPhone started having a problem syncing Contacts and Calendars. As far as I know, I changed no settings on either my phone or my computer to cause this to happen. I'm using a Mac with OSX Tiger, syncing through the USB cable with iTunes.
I first found that my calendars would not sync in either direction (iCal > phone or vice versa). The "Sync calendars" box was definitely checked, but when I tried to sync, it skips over the calendar sync process altogether (it used to display "Syncing calendars..." for a few seconds in the top of the iTunes window back before it stopped working, but not anymore).
I did a restore on my phone, losing my contacts and calendars that were already on there, and discovered that the contacts weren't syncing as well (despite most definitely being set to sync in iTunes), leaving me with a blank contact list. Other things such as Applications and Photos are able to sync perfectly fine. Here are things I've tried after reading some discussions, to no avail:
-Restoring the phone (both to a backup and as a new iPhone)
-Unchecking/rechecking "Sync Calendars/Contacts" boxes in iTunes, including experimenting with "all contacts" vs certain groups of contacts and calendars
-Resetting my Sync history in iSync
-Creating a new user account, with test contacts and calendar appointments (also failed to transfer)
    -Hard resetting the phone
None of these seems to have helped the problem. It's as if my computer doesn't realize that I've checked the boxes to sync anything under the "Info" tab in iTunes.
Any ideas that I haven't tried yet? Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Thomas,
Did contacts and calendar sync in another user account?
Have you installed any software that takes over syncing on your Mac? Maybe software that would let you sync a Windows Mobile phone.
If the issue is happening in all user accounts, try reinstalling iTunes as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224
If the issue is only happening in one user account, there may be an issue with the SyncServices folder which is described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1865

  • Contacts and Caendar won't sync - how to turn off "over the air" syncing?

I have an 2nd gen 8GB Touch, a Macbook and use iTunes 8.0.1. I do not have Wi-Fi at home. I also have a dot-Mac (or Mobile Me, I guess) account.
When I first got the Touch, I opted in the iTunes Info section to sync both calendar and contacts, and everything came over fine. However, all of that somehow disappeared, and no amount of re-syncing will help. Now, my Info tab indicates that my contacts and calendars are being synced with my iPod over the air - I do not have the option of checking any boxes there. I have tried every permutation of settings in the iPod, but this doesn't change anything. I also cannot find any helpful help screens anywhere (including on this forum, where I have already searched).
Could someone please advise me how I can regain the checkboxes so my contacts and calendar information syncs when I connect to the Macbook and use iTunes to sync everything else (photos, music and movies all work fine).
    TIA
    BobF

This sounds like a MobileMe problem; or, rather, the solution will be found there. Try this page:

  • Contacts and calendar will not sync.. music play lists will

    hello all,
i have a 4gb iphone that i bought in july. since updating to 1.1.3 i am unable to sync contacts and calendar. i have tried turning phone off and on, ejecting, unplugging, repluggin, and even a full restore, still am unable to sync my contacts and calendar. anyone haveing a similar problem? any help would greatly appreciated, thank you for your time

I, too, have this problem since updating my 8GB iPhone to 1.1.3. I primarily sync my iPhone with my Tiger-running Powerbook G4, where my calendars, contacts, and music files are. However, I followed your direction of resetting iSync, and it did not work. I, then, plugged my iPhone into my Tiger-running MacBook Pro and it worked (and I did not reset iSync). Maybe this problem is due to Intel vs. PowerPC?
We need to alert Apple. I have to go get this figured out for me... I will be visiting the Genius Bar this weekend because I can't be syncing my contacts, and such, on my MacBook Pro 24/7.

  • My Address Book and Calendar won't sync

I have configured in my iPhone settings to sync my mail, contacts and Calendars  with my Google account, and it works when I input new data on my computer, but when I enter new contacts or dates on my iPhone, it doesn't translate to my computer.   How can I get it to sync "both ways"?  (BTW, iTunes recognizes the iPhone, as does iPhoto, so that's not the problem).

Check the default account in Settings.

  • TS1347 Have been using an iPhone and syncing with Outlook for several years.  Since downloading latest version of iTunes, contacts and calendars are not syncing.  Both items show to be checked for syncing.  Any suggestions?

  • How to insure that contacts and calendar are NOT synced with ICloud?

    Hello,
I do not understand, why it is not possible anymore to sync your contacts and calendar data between your mac book and your mobile devices using USB cable.
I also heard that with Maverick and Itunes 11.1.2 you can not sync anything using USB anymore, is that true?
Why is it not possible to let the customer decide how to sync their data? Why not leaving both options?
In case it is true that with Maverick and Itunes 11.1.2 you are not able to sync using USB anymore, does anybody know a good app to sync your photos and address data between your computer and mobile devices?
How can I insure that my contacts and calendar data are NOT automatically synced with ICloud?
Yesterday I synced some Photos from my macbook to my IPad and wondered why I had the photos twice. I realized that my IPad had ICloud enabled, after disabling ICloud one picture folder (Photostream) was gone. What do do to avoid that my MacBook is sending Photos to ICloud?
However, when I opened ICloud today, I did not find photos, but I found some address data from my MacBook in the Cloud.
I do not want to have my contacts and calendar data anywhere else on a server.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Hark

Connect your phone to your computer using the USB power cable that you charge your phone with.
Launch iTunes, it will go thru the normal sync back up progress bar thing at the top, let it finish.
    Then
double  click on the phone in the left side bar then click INFO at the top of that pane, it will allow you select what you want to sync (contacts, calendar, etc) make your selections and click apply, then click sync. There buttons along the top for different functions (Movies, Apps, etc) just make sure that you do not have anything checked (like your whole music library) that will not fit on the phone.

  • HT1386 Ever since I had to replace my PC hard drive, my outlook contacts and calendar no longer sync.  It acts like it's syncing, but it isn't.  I now have two hard drives - c and g, but I'm pretty sure the Outlook data is still on c.  Any other ideas?

Hello - I just had to replace the hard drive on my pc, and now my Outlook calendar and contacts won't sync to my iphone 5s.  I ended up getting two hard drives (C and G), so I'm afraid that might have something to do with it - although I'm pretty sure Outlook files still live in the normal place on C. Itunes sync acts as if it's working, but nothing changes on my phone.  Any ideas?  Thanks!!

    "2MEM/1/4: DIMM3/J14"
Replace the memory in the DIMM 3 slot.
If you are running Mac OS X 10.5 you can use this program to test your G5's memory:
    http://www.kelleycomputing.net/Rember/
It will subject your RAM to a more thorough test than Apple Hardware Test.
