  • WAD Container Layout

    Hi Experts!
I am using 7.0 WAD for the first time.
I need to use web item: Container Layout so display a Chart web item and a Analysis wen item in separate columns.
My problem is that when editing the rows and columns propertiesof the Container Layout there are no values (apart from default) in the drop down for SUBORIDNATE WEB ITEM property.
I have added the CHART web item and ANALYSIS web item into the Container Layout, but I don't get the option for subordinate web items. So how do I do this?
I am obviously missing something basic, and have read other threads but still having probelms.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
if you have selected the container layout in the export command the PDF will only be exported blank. This is caused by the following limitation for the export command (which is cut from the official statement of SAP Help according to the link below)::
The standard functionality of export command within WAD is limited to the following special web items:
    ● Analysis
    ● Chart
    ● Maps
    ● Report
    ● Info Field
    ● List of Exceptions
    ● List of Conditions
    ● Text
Therefore you can not print the container layout or its content. If you do not enter any web item in the export command both the analysis item and the chart item should be printed. However you will face the following problem (also a quotation from SAP Help):
"When multiple Web items are embedded, they are generally arranged under one another in the print version. You cannot change how the Web items are arranged."
So if you want to print the items you will probably have to think of other structures (like arranging as tab items).
The detailled source of SAP Help is over [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/43/68ce8391886e47e10000000a422035/content.htm].

  • Container Layout Web Item supported for PDF Printing (Stack 11)

Dear all and Mr. Prakash Darji
I had an information that PDF export would be supported for Container Layout Web Item with SPS11. We hrecently have installed SPS11 but the functionality is still not available.
Does any one have more info on this ? Has SAP changed the plan ?
The current document at the service marketplace about functional enhancements on the following link does not say any thing about this.

    Title:Publishing Strategies
    11/13/2006
    NetWeaver RIG

I' an APEX newbie and believe I am having the same or a similar problem. I am (for now) developing a system using the hosted Apex development system online. I have created a Report Query which works fine with the default layout. I downloaded the XML (tried both sample data and schema) into Word 2007 with the BI Publisher Template Builder. I used the table wizard to create a simple layout containing all columns with no customization at all. Saved as an RTF, uploaded to Apex as a Report Layout, associated it with the Report Query, clicked Test Report -- and I got nothing.
When the is a PDF, I get the same error you mention ( Adobe Reader could not open the <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded ). If I switch to an HTML file the out is just a blank screen.
If I switch back to generic report layout, it works fine. This suggests there is something wrong with the template, though it looks fine in Word with the sample data.
I've searched the forums and Google for the better part of a day. What am I missing?

  • Container layout changed with adapter.

Why does TestStand container layout changes based on the adapter selection?
When using NumericLimitTest type with a none adapter the "Units" is visible.
But when using NumericLimitTest type with CVI adapter "Units" variable is not visible in Result container? Why?
Is it not correct that NumericLimitTest type Result container will always contain:
    1. TS
    2. Error
    3. Status
    4. Numeric
    5. ReportText
    6. Common
    7. Units
    8. Limits
    9. Comp
Although TS container may change position.

When using NumericLimitTest type with a none adapter the "Units" is visible.
But when using NumericLimitTest type with CVI adapter "Units" variable is not visible in Result container?
Does anyone know if there is a way to identify for a specific test if Units will be present in container or not? This is when traversing through a single result container in modelsupport.dll (c_report.c file).

  • Pb with the layout tab in WAD

    Hi,
I have a problem in the WAD.
When I create or modify a web template, i cannot use the layout tab (I have no error msg...).
I have the possibilty to use the others tabs (XHTM or Overview) but not the layout tab. It's problematic because I cannot customize my Web template.
Anyone has an idea or solution to help me?
    Kind regards.
    DaD

    Hi DaD,
did you try on different computers? Always same result?
    I am using GUI 7.20 with Windows 7 EHP1
GUI Support Package 3, Patch 1, Revision 497 and have no problems.
If you have the same problem on differnet computers and with all users, I would create an OSS message.

  • Inserting Webitem in WAD tool bar

    Hello,
we have to add couple of web items to our standard template.after adding them, how to insert them in already existing tool bar?
lets assume we have dragged and dropped Chart and Map web items into Layout. Now how to include them in tool bar? we have had already export to excel, print preview,Book mark and Variables in tool bar.
    Pl help me.
    Rakesh.

    from how to doc..
You can enhance this symbol bar by
Inserting additional Web items (such as List of Documents) into the standard Web template and by adding new symbols and tool tips for them.
Integrating additional functions (commands such as currency translation) into the symbol bar and adding new symbols and tooltips for them.
Offering additional diagram types in the symbol toolbar, saving the corresponding Web items for them in the Web Application Designer library, and then make a reference to them in the Standard Web template.
if i am nt wrong, this is the my requirement.

  • Four Quadrants in Web Template

    Hi All,
We need a web tenplate where in we can have header, footer and body with 4 equally distributed quadrants with currency conversion option enabled.
For Currency Conversion: We can see three options
    1) Fixed to any one currency
    2) Fixed to default currency
    3) Enablingvariable screen. Is there any other way for this.
We have tried in many ways but could not able achieve. Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards
    Visweswara

    Hi Visweswara,
You can create a web template using the following web elements:-
Header - is it an image or text? you can insert a Text Element or Image accordingly
Footer -  is it an image or text? you can insert a Text Element or Image accordingly
I am assuming you need the Curreny Conversion / Var Screen to be implemented using Buttons above the 4 Quadrants & that Analysis / Chart webitems will fill each of the 4 Quadrants.
Use a Group webitem for the overall layout. You will need 1 Container webitem, 1 Container Layout webitem, 1 ButtonGroup webitem, 4 Analysis/Chart webitems
Drag the ButtonGroup webitem inside the Container webitem
Drag the Analysis/Chart webitems inside the Container Layout webitem
Drag the Container & Container Layout webitems inside the Group webitem
Container webitem -> embedded ButtonGroup webitem with 3 Buttons for the Currency Conversion - Fixed, Currency Conversion - Default, Variable Screen. You can enable Commands on Action of each of the Buttons i.e. SET_CURRENCY_TRANSLATION (Fixed Target Currency), SET_CURRENCY_TRANSLATION (Apply Default Translation), OPEN_VARIABLE_DIALOG
Container Layout webitem -> here you will insert 2 Rows
Row 1 -> will have 2 Columns -> each Column will further have a Analysis / Chart webitem bound to it. The Rowspan has to be 1 & Colspan has to be 2
Row 2 -> will have 2 Columns -> each Column will further have a Analysis / Chart webitem bound to it. The Rowspan has to be 1 & Colspan has to be 2
Now assign the Container webitem as the subordinate webitem of the Group Toolbar & assign the Container Layout webitem as the subordinate webitem of the Internal Display. You can choose from available Design options to format the Group webitem. Inorder to align the Header/Footer, you can insert an HTML Table with 3 rows & insert the Header in the first row, followed by the Group webitem & the Footer in the last row.

  • WAD Tab container loses tab

    Hi Folks,
I'm having a problem with a web app I have created. I have three queries which I want to present on a single web app using tabs.
I have created then three queries in the Query Designer and they all execute correctly.
I have created a blank web app added the tab strip container and create the detail, which consists of a container layout item, navigation item and analysis item for each of the three queries.
The tabs are all linked to the relevant container layout item and the navigation and analysis items are all correctly linked to the relevant container layout.
The web app appears to be correct and no issues are detected using the "verify" button.
However whenever I save and execute the web app the second tab disappears.
I have tried deleting and re-creating the data provider and all the web items to no avail.
I have also tried using one of the other data providers to see if the error is in the underlying query, without any luck.
Any thoughts on why this happens would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    P

It seems the template was corrupted, deleting and starting did the trick.

  • Position  change of function buttons in Layout sheet

    Hi Experts,
In my planning layout, the planning function buttons like copy and delete push buttons are close to each other. So if i want to arrange them logically related close to each other, how i can do that ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
This is in BI WAD template I assume? If you are looking for rearraging multiple buttons you have created using Button Group Item, you can do that in the properties of the button group item (arrows to move button up and down). The buttons in one button group item always appear close by to each other so if you are looking at more space or arranging them on the page, use multiple button group items and arrange them using container layout item(s).

  • Problem exporting to excel when using embedded web templates through WAD

Using web templates designed with WAD, we are experiencing an issue when trying to export excel when using embedded web templates.
We have set up tabstrips within our templates that load other templates (embedded into the global template).
Upon right clicking on any query and choosing "Export to Excel", any query that is in one of the tabs using the embedded web template item does not show up.  Any queries in natively in the global web template will export and show up fine.
Any thoughts on how to enable something like this, or workarounds to make this work?  We decided to split up these templates for performance reasons and can't go back from that decision.  Also let me know if you need a better explanation of what we're trying to do.
    Thanks in advance!
    Jonathan

    Hi SDBI,
Is this in place of loading a new template per tab?  We are using container layouts in all of our templates so we can link things into tabstrips as well, we have just split up some templates to be embedded into tabs for performance reasons and data locking.
Also when exporting, we are looking for all of the items displayed at that time to be exported, however only the items from the global template show up, not all of the displayed queries.  For example, anything outside of the tabstrip will export perfectly, but since the query embedded into the template the tabstrip is loading is not part of the native web template, it does not show up.
Seems like a tool limitation to me when embedding templates?
    Thanks,
    Jon

  • BI 7.0 - WAD

    Hi,
I have developed a report in WAD. The whole of data seems to be fine but the problem is with the look and feel.
The alignment is not very good. I mean I have 2 web items
    1. Info Field Item and 2. Filter pane item.
I am trying to display the Query name, the author and the current user in Info Field Item
I am trying to display the variables (4) that are there in the report in Filter Pane item.
So, in the first case i.e. in Info Field Item, the values are displayed one below the other and they have borders for it.
And in second case i.e. in Filter pane item, the values are being displayed horizontally and there are no borders for that.
So this looks very awkward in the report.
Could someone suggest me how do I go abut solving this issue.
Requesting you to explain me step by step as I could not find a proper option.
Would definitely assign points for the answer...

    Hi,
Try using multiple information items and filter panes and split the fields between them; arrange these items in the Web Template using container layout Item(s).

  • Query on WAD

    Hi All,
I have 4 reports in WAD.
Output 1:Once i given the varibale value its displaying the oout put of 4 reports like below
    Report1
    Report2
    Report3
    Report 4
Output 2: But i need the reports output like this below.
    Report1    Report2
    Report3
    Report4
I changed the pixcel width's but still its giving the out put like one by one report.
I used the container tab and even though it's still have a problem.
Could any one help me how can i show the report's in the order's like  above Output 2.
    Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi Srinivas,
    Try this approach.
    1. Add a container layout web item.
    2. Add 4 Analysis items.
    3. Now, the four analysis items needs to be binded to the container layout.
    4. In container layout properties, Select Layout Type as GRID
    5. In Row List, click on to add a row. A new window will pop up.
    6. In that, click on to add a column. Again a new window will pop up.
    7. Now, you click on the drop down button present in front of Subordinate web item.
    8. Here, select the first Analysis Item i.e. Report1. Click on OK. You'll have the Report1 in the first row - first column.
    9. Again click on to add a column. Now, you click on the drop down button present in front of Subordinate web item.
    10. Here, select the second Analysis Item i.e. Report2. Click on OK. You'll have the Report2 in the first row - second column.
    11. Again click on OK.
    12. Now, in container layout properties, in Row List, click to add a second row.
Here, u bind the Report3 in the column.
    13. Similarly, add one more row for the last Report4.
    I hope this is helpful.
Let me know in case of any further questions on this.
