Content dependent message-mapping

I have an interface who delivers 7 different XML files to the same location. I need different XSL mapping depending on the content of the files. I can define an XPATH expression who tells me which file I have received.
But how do I define the mapping depending of the file contens??
/Jakob

Hi Jakob,
You can have one reciever determination with multiple interface determination which in turn use mapping programs.
You dont require any condition for reciever determination as your target is always one.
Using templates is a better Idea, cause you always generate a target structure going to reciever and generate templte based on your condition.

  • I need to sort the incoming file contents before message mapping

    Hi All,
      I have requirement like i have to sort the file contents before message mapping in Xi. is there any option please suggest me with your value information.i dont want to sort in message mapping before that i want file contents to be sorted order.waiting for your quick reply.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    You can do this in one scenario.
    Lets say you have MT_Source and MT_Target as two message types.
    Now your MM1 will be between MT_Source & MT_Source, that is same message type. Here you built your sorting logic.
    Now create MM2, between MT_Source & MT_Target. Here your actual mapping logic will be implemented. The input payload for MM2 will be sorted data.
    Now in operation mapping, first call MM1 and then call MM2 (You have a plus + sign to add multiple mapping programs). Due to this sequence, at run time first MM1 will be executed and after that its oupt will be given to MM2 as source payload.
    Hope its clear. Plz let me know if you have any doubts.

    Hi,
    Mapping “patterns” are some of the common mapping requirements found in the past which XSLT was used, because we did not think that Message Mapping provided the functionality

  • Is there pre-configured message mapping for SRM Content?

    Hi,
    My requirement is to do a message mapping between the SRM Message "Purchase Order Request" and the R/3 Idoc Orders01. Is there a preconfigured message mapping in SRM content or will I have to do it?
    I see the generated proxy class from the outbound message interfacePurchaseOrderRequest_Out which will carry the message to XI and my requirement is to map it to the Interface ORDRSP.Orders01 Please let me know if there is a pre-configured message mapping for this ? or is the message mapping between the message "Purchase Order Request" and the R/3 IDOC ORDERS01 to be done by the developer himself?

    HI,
    There are mappings available in the predelivered SRM content from SAP.
    Did you import  the SRM content into the repository? If so , you can find this.

    Hi,
    I want to do scenarios using XSLT mapping, ABAP mapping, Java mapping.
    Can you suggest me some weblogs...
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
    thought i will start of from scratch.Mapping is basically done to convert one form of xml into another form. This can be done using either of them mentioned below.
    - Graphical mapping
    - XSLT mapping
    - JAVA mapping
    - ABAP mapping
    To know more about each of them please go thru the following links. And if you ask me your which is better, it depends basically on the scenario you implementing and the complexity involved. Anyways please go thru the following links:

    Re: Different types of Mapping in XI
    Regards,
    Abhy

  • Hi , friends pls explain abap mapping and message mapping

    1) pls explain abap mapping and message mapping
       send me screen shorts also.

    Hi
    Mapping Techniques
    XI provides 3 standard ways of interface mapping between source and target.
    Graphical mapping
    Java Mapping
    XSLT Mapping
    Two more additional mapping types can be activated in XI by making changes to the exchange profile. Those two mappings are
    ABAP mapping
    XSLT mapping with ABAP Extensions
    Graphical Mapping
    Graphical mapping is a common approach followed by everyone for generating desired target structure. It involves simple drag-n-drop to correlate respective nodes (fields) from source and target structure. It hardly involves coding. (Exception - User defined functions). But sometimes with graphical mapping it is difficult to produce required output. For example ... text/html output, namespace change, sorting or grouping of records etc.
    ABAP Mapping
    A person comfortable with Object Oriented ABAP can go for ABAP mapping instead.
    Java Mapping
    Java Mapping uses 2 types of parsers. DOM and SAX. DOM is easier to use with lots of classes to help you create nodes and elements, but , DOM is very processor intensive.
    SAX parser is something that parses your XML one after the other, and so is not processor intensive. But, it is not exaclty easy to develop either.
    XSLT Mapping
    One can also think of Java mapping as another option but it is a bit complex and required knowledge of Java. In such cases, XSLT mapping can be the best approach to meet the requirements.
    A few example cases in which an XSLT mapping can be used:-
    When the required output is other than XML like Text, Html or XHTML (html displayed as XML)
    When default namespace coming from graphical mapping is not required or is to be changed as per requirements.
    When data is to be filtered based on certain fields (considering File as source)
    When data is to be sorted based on certain field (considering File as source)
    When data is to be grouped based on certain field (considering File as source)\
    Advantages of using XSLT mapping
    XSLT program itself defines its own target structure.
    XSLT programs can be imported into SAP XI. Message mapping step can be avoided. One can directly go for interface mapping once message interfaces are created and mapping is imported.
    XSLT provides use of number of standard XPath functions that can replaces graphical mapping involving user defined java functions easily.
    File content conversion at receiver side can be avoided in case of text or html output.
    Multiple occurrences of node within tree (source XML) can be handled easily.
    XSLT can be used in combination with graphical mapping.
    Multi-mapping is also possible using xslt.
    XSLT can be used with ABAP and JAVA Extensions.
    Disadvantages of using XSLT mapping
    Resultant XML payload can not be viewed in SXMB_MONI if not in XML format (for service packs < SP14).
    Interface mapping testing does not show proper error description. So errors in XSLT programs are difficult to trace in XI but can be easily identified outside XI using browser.
    XSLT mapping requires more memory than mapping classes generated in Java.
    XSLT program become lengthier as source structure fields grows in numbers.
    XSLT program sometimes become complex to meet desired functionality.
    Some XSL functions are dependent on version of browser.
    Different types of Mappings
    MAPPING SUPPORTED BY XI
    Message Mapping -> Graphical Design and testing environment. Default Provided By XI. Queue based modelling allow handling or large documents. Extensible via user defined functions
    XSLT Mapping - > Based on openstandard, Portable across application platform, Extensible using user defined functions kewl but disadvantage is Memory overload while handling large documents.
    SAX -> Simple Api For XML. -> Allows you to parse through a XML document. Doesn't consume any memory. But the message can be parsed only once from top to bottom. It Has evolved by contributions made by group of ppl itz a open architecture.
    DOM -> Document Object Model -> Itz designed by W3C. Consumes Memory as the message will be loaded. Allows parsing of document in both way top down and bottom up.
    Send me your email id.Shall send you very good docs for both ABAP Mapping and message mapping.
    Thanks

  • Error while opening Message Mapping

    Hi All,
    I have one MM in ESR, IDoc to EDI, it has been developed before, and the interface is working successfully.But when I open this MM in ESR, it given a STOP error with desc as 'For input string: ""'.
    and then there is nothing displayed on Screen under Definition,Test and Functions tab of MM.The Signature tab content is visible properly.
    I am working on PI 7.1.
    Is this issue is because of version comapatibilty or missing object. Please provide your inputs to resolve this issue,
    Thanks,
    Ruchi

    Hi All,
    I have checked with my basis team, but they suggested that the patches can not be installed as this problem is happening with single message mapping.
    When I open this MM, it gives the same STOP error :For input string: "". and when I click on Message Mapping -> Check button, it prompts a message 'Parameter #ParamName# has the invalid value null'.
    Please help me to resolve this.As the mapping itself is not getting loaded, so not getting how to set this parameter value(if it is used in MM).

    Can anyone suggest the solution..

  • File to file with out message mapping and using variable substitution

    Hi,
    Can any one send me a scenario where we can have file to file scenario with out message mapping and where i can use variable substitution.
    As of now i am using integrate configurations where i cant use variable substitution as the message does not reflect in integration engine. I need to populate time stamp between <filename><timestamp>.txt.pgp
    I am as of now using configuration scenario.
    The time stamp always writes before the last file extension.
    Let me know your thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Chandra.

    Hi Chandra,
    u can use the Variable substitution even without IR contents also(Mapping....).
    in the receiver communication channel just specify the path u want to access for a value...
    eg: filename                             payload:mt_name,1,records,1,name,1
    and in th file name give it as %filename%.txt... or vt ever ur requirement

    How do I do message mapping (preferably graphical mapping) to achieve the target structure. The values of each elements are manipulated for easiness. There are more than one fields under each node in real scenario. Please let me know
    thx

    Beautiful..Thx...
    I will try out and let you know Amit
    One more request.
    I have to do this mapping first and use it in receiver interfaces of ICO using an operation mapping and inbound interface as usual.
    Now, I have to add 2 more inbound interfaces in the receiver interfaces and maintain order at Runtime to execute the above mapping first always and then execute the 2 additional inbound interfaces based on some condition.
    The condition has to be something like this (source structure <flag> field value dependent condition)
    /Material/row/flag  = 'N'       call the second inbound interface to execute a operation mapping
    /Material/row/flag  = 'N'       call the third interface to execute another operation mapping
    Now the complexity here is:
    If the source structure is like this below
    <Material>
    <row>    1....unbounded
    <Mat_ID>123<Mat_ID>
    <Desc><text</Desc>
    <uom>EA</uom>
    <plant>AB</plant>
    <org>XY</org>
    <flag>N</flag>  -- this is the flag field for the first material
    </row>
    <row>
    <Mat_ID>123<Mat_ID>
    <Desc><text</Desc>
    <flag>N</flag> -- this is the flag field for the first material again
    <uom>ST</uom>
    <plant>CD</plant>
    <org>FG</org>
    </row>
    <row>
    <Mat_ID>345<Mat_ID>
    <Desc><text</Desc>
    <flag>N</flag> --this is the flag field for the second material
    <uom>XY</uom>
    <plant>DE</plant>
    <org>ZX</org>
    </row>
    and so on
    </Material>
    The target structure for the additional 2 inbound interface are shown below
    2nd inbound interface target structure
    <Material>
    <Mat_ID>123</Mat_ID>
    <flag>N</flag>  - constant value 'N'
    <Mat_ID>345</Mat_ID>
    <flag>N</flag> - constant value 'N'
    </Material>
    3rd inbound interface target structure
    <Material>
    <Mat_ID>123</Mat_ID>
    <flag>Y</flag>  - constant value 'Y'
    <Mat_ID>345</Mat_ID>
    <flag>Y</flag>  - constant value 'Y'
    </Material>
    first question: how do I write a condition for checking the source structure <flag> field value for every unique material ?
    second question: what would be the message mapping and operation mapping for the 2nd and 3rd inbound interfaces?
    thx

  • Message Mapping (Mail Adapter)

    Hi all,
    I'm building a specific message mapping to send e-mails through an E-MAIL communication channel. Right now I'm already able to test it and the e-mails are going out properly. My problem is that they are assuming the "times new roman" text font by default. Do you know where I can change this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ricardo Inácio

    You need to make use of XSLT mapping to change the font....as mentioned HTML tags will help you....in the Content node your code should be like:
    <Content>
    <html>
    <body>
    <font face="verdana" size="4">Message content that you want to display in the email body</font>
    </body>
    </html>
    </Content>
    If you want to have various fonts/ font-size then enclose the text accordingly within the font tag.....the above code will display the email body with verdana font of size 4 (it will be big enough)
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Message Mapping of Recursive Source Structure?

    Hello,
    a mapping needs to be implemented from a custom source structure to an IDoc. An XSD has been provided for the source structures which contains recursive elements --> an element of a specific type contains another element with the same type.
    If I import the XSD then the type of the recursive element is displayed in "red", but I still can expand it. If I want to use the source structure in the message mapping I cannot expand the recursive elements anymore. Does anyone of you have an idea how to handle this? I want to avoid XSLT if possible.
    Thank you!

    Hi again Florian,
    please have a look at [Structure Overview in Message Mappings on SAP help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/e3/92be7c6cd34fd485c967144e302fb6/content.htm]. There is a paragraph on Recursive Structures:
    ...It is possible to map these elements in the mapping editor in a rudimentary fashion by using the context menu to expand a specific number of subnodes and then use them in target-field mappings...
    That works for both source and target message.

  • Sender SMTP Adapter / Content Based Routing / Mapping of an attachement

    Hi all,
    I'm still working on my SMTP --> PI --> Proxy scenario (asynchronous). I've tried several different properties of my sender communication channel (type = mail), but I didn't find the correct configuration. Hopefully it exists.
    I'm working with PI 7.0 SP10.
    I get an inbound message via Mail using sender SOAP Adapter. The message payload itself is an attachement. Now I'd like to do the following:
    a) Content Based Routing in Receiver Determination based on the message subject
    b) Mapping of the Attachement XML message to my inbound proxy interface
    Now, trying to do so, I didn't get it work. When I use XIPAYLOAD with keep attachements, I get two attachements in my inbound message (one in XI mail package format having the subject within, one with the IDoc structure I'd like to map). How can I assign the second attachement to be used for my message mapping?
    When I use XIALL instead of XIPAYLOAD, I think the mapping will work but my subject for content based routing will be lost, right? That one I didn't get running because of another failure, so I don't know the exact behaviour of the adapter for that configuration.
    Anybody out there who know the correct configuration for the sender mail adapter for my small scenario above?
    BR
    Holger

    Hi Stefan,
    sorry for misunderstanding, for sure I'm using the mail adapter, not the SOAP Adapter. I'm actually on the same direction. I'm using XIPAYLOAD as message protocoll (having the attachement as the content for the mapping --> correct). Furthermore I've also found the predefined context objects for the content based routing receiver determination.
    What I missed was setting the following properties in the communication channel:
    To store adapter attributes in the message header of the XI message, set the Set Adapter-Specific Message Attributes indicator.
    The following attributes are added to the XI message header if the sender makes them available, and if the Variable Transport Binding indicator is set.
    Now it's working

  • Send Alerts(e-mail) for errors in SXMB_MONI(message mapping exceptions)

    Good afternoon !
            I´m configuring SAP Netweaver PI 7.0(SP13) to use Alert Framework to send Alerts when errors occurs in the interfaces processing.
            I just achieved configure to send alerts when errors ocurrs in the Adapter Framework but, I can´t configure correctly to send alerts when errors ocurred only in SXMB_MONI(for example, message mapping exception in asyncronous interface).
            I just followed the instructions at Michal Krawczyk
    weblog(/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step) and, initially, this was not sufficient to start to send alert when errors occurs only on SXMB_MONI, so, I researched and found some configurations to do in CCMS(started from here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/bf3b7a8ccb8040b638ff732c551aeb/content.htm), jobs to start events collectors, etc, and after this, I could see a mail for an message mapping exception. BUT, this message, sent from CCMS to ALM, doesn´t carry out all the message parameters, like message Id, sender(service, interface), receiver(service, interface), that is very important to help to find the message with errors to be solved.
            There is somebody here that already done the Alert configuration to send messages for errors found only in SXMB_MONI(Monitor for processed XML Messages) ?
            There is a better way to achieve this ?
            Thank you for your attention,
