after ios5 update on ipad2 all my apps are missing, how do i get them back?

I have the same problem. I disconnected and synced, and I can see them in itunes,
Disconnected from what? the computer? Did you connect to the computer again, launch iTunes and then do as I described above?
You have selected all of the apps to sync - put checkmarks in all of the boxes next to the app names and have the Sync Apps heading checked as well?
Do you have restrictions set on the iPad? Settings>General>Restrictions>On?
Are you signed into the correct iTunes account on the iPad and the computer?

  • Bookmarks go missing after each update - why???

with frequent updates, after each update all my bookmarks have gone

Which update to Mac OS X are you speaking of? Your profile is incomplete; you should indicate exactly which Mac model and speed you have, along with the specific version fo Mac OS X and any external peripherals that may be connected. There was no update for Mail. And where did you get IE for Mac, since it hasn't been available for several years now, not even from Microsoft. It's dead; extremely insecure, unsupported, kaput.
As for your bookmarks, I don't think they're gone, since you didn't find them in the Trash; they're probably still on your system. You should look in this directory for a file named Bookmarks.plist: /Users/your username/Library/Safari. If you see it there, then you do have them; if not, try searching your entire hard drive for that specific file to see if it's still there and where it's located.
If her hard drive has 10 GB or less of space, time to start clearing out the junk you don't need or don't use. That fact alone could have been a factor in this problem, but it's unclear at this point.

  • Native Camera App missing after iOS4 update

    Hi
After the update to iOS4 (iPhone 3G) I moved all my camera apps into a folder named 'photography' and the naitive camera app has disapeared! I have tried restore and it came back, but went when I synced to my iPhone backup.
Just read the other thread and tried the 'restore home screen layout' but still nowhere to be seen! Have tried searching spotlight for it and nothing!
Please Help! None of my other camera apps work without it.
    Thanks
    Simon

Just wanted to add my name to this topic.
I'd read elsewhere that it is thought to be caused by adding and removing Exchange settings. I noticed it was gone after I re-enabled my googlemail via Exchange protocols ... but that is probably a coincidence.
I think I may have to do a iOS4 reinstallation, but not restore from backup and configure the phone as new. Aaargh.

  • New photo upload missing after I updated to iPhoto 11

    Hi and Help!
I was prompted to update to iPhoto 11 on the weekend (don't know why now particularly, I'm in iPhoto all the time). So I followed the instructions, library updated, all existing events and albums are there. I uploaded some more pictures and created a few new albums and did some new year spring cleaning, moving stuff around etc. And I started making a calendar.
I've opened it up today, my calendar project is still there as are all the new events, but the pictures are empty outlines. If I open up a picture I just get a large exclamation mark "!" but I can still see the thumbnails showing in the slider in the bottom - I don't know if that means the source files must still be there somewhere, or if it just means it captured thumbnails yesterday.
I've gone into the folders via "show package contents" and there just don't seem to be any masters for an upload this weekend. I also had a look in the last import folder. As I scrolled down through the folder the images were there and literally disappeared in front of me - by which I mean, the thumbnails were there as I scrolled down and then would turn into empty outlines...!
All my old folders are still there, thankfully (although they're of course the ones that are also all safely back up).
Because I don't have the cable for my camera, I uploaded them through a card-reader, I don't know if that may affect their date-stamp (and so therefore where to find them in package contents route). I've uploaded previously this way though, and it hasn't been issue regarding losing the images.
Although I have a timecapsule, my photo library is too big to keep on my hard drive, so I keep it on an external drive - meaning it only gets backed up when I do it manually (thanks Apple for that, I will never understand why it was designed to work - or not work - that way). So if the pictures have been lost then they are gone for good which is horrible (I just got back from South Korea and was in the middle of sorting out all my shots from that trip).  Plus there was stuff on the camera dating back to the summer.
It seems that this can only have happened because of the update - I should have known better than to have pressed yes.
I'm on a macbook pro and using OSX Lion.
If you have any suggestions, I'd be most grateful!
    Regards
    R

    Hi,
ok - on the many other back up solutions available front: I guess I have bought into the Apple 'plug n play' 'it all works seamlessly' dream. I have twice been sold supposed total solutions - in 2009, on the advice of a Miami Apple store, upgrading my old macbook pro's OSX to I think snow leopard, specifically to get time machine, and buying a La Cie 1TB external drive and WD 0.5TB portable external, to work with the airport extreme I had at home....
then, after my iTunes armageddon last year, when I was unable to resolve it through several very long Apple-care calls, I went into the Genius bar at the Shanghai store, where I now live, and left with a partial recovery...and a new 2TB time capsule, 1TB La Cie external drive, and the Lion OSX. To go with my current macbook pro. So, having invested significantly in Apple's solutions, I'm looking to them to work rather than replace them with something else when I don't know if they'll be any better. People who are supposed to know have told me that it couldn't sweep from peripherals, so I've taken their word for it. Does that make me a mug? Very probably.
    Re format:
    1) La Cie -

    Format: exFAT
    Capacity: 1TB
    Available: 400.55 GB
Sharing & permissions: I can read and write
    2) Time Capsule - when I click on 'get info' I don't get very much info, just:
    Kind: time capsule

I tried running deeper search via testdisk but I came across about 20 different MS data and thought I must've done something wrong. Thanks in advance!

Twenty entries may seem overwhelming, but checking each one using P - List Files should be fairly quick and painless. Most partitions will be damaged anyway.

  • Catalog content missing after upgrade to 11.1.1.6.6

We recently applied the patches to upgrade OBIEE from 11.1.1.6.0 to 11.1.1.6.6. But after the upgrade, all of the catalog contents went missing. I can still see My Folders and Shared Folders, but nothing under them. I still have all of the subject area and can still build custom analysis, but all of the pre-built contents are gone. We are using BI Applications 7.9.6.3.
Has anyone else had the same issue?
    Thanks,
    Yi
Edited by: yitang on Nov 29, 2012 8:19 PM

    Hi,
Yesterday we have encountered the same problem. We have migrated our Development environment from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.1.6.5 and the folders do not show any of the existing reports and dashboards. When we click on the My folder or Shared Folder, we encountered a BI spinning a wheel and nothing loaded. We later found out that during our test upgrade of our staging environment, one of the report failed and the work around was to add the following to the NQSConfig.INI.
    EVALUATE_SUPPORT_LEVEL = 2;
Even though this is nothing to do with Catalog not loading, we went ahead with this change and restarted the BI components.
We refreshed the page by clicking F5 and the catalog now successfully loaded.
Again, I am not sure whether this was related to above change or just refreshing the page with F5.
Can you try what we did and see whether you could see the catalog contents.
    Thanks
    Sundar

  • Lots of YouTube subscription videos missing after last update?

After the latest software update for Apple TV I noticed a LOT of Youtube videos were missing from my subscriptions, and in some cases, entire channels. The channels are still there to be selected, but it acts as though they contain no videos. This even includes Apple's own YouTube channel among those affected. Some other channels have a few, but not all of their videos, and some were completely unaffected and still have all their videos.
I submitted a bug report to Apple, but wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue since it seems to have happened only after the last software update.

    It's not just you.

  • Playlists missing after itunes update

I have recently updated to version 8 and not only does my library seem to be missing but my playlists are gone too. I am currently adding my music folders into iTunes again so i hope that fixes the library issue but I am not so sure about my all my playlists.

Sorry if I should be starting a new thread, but I can't figure out how. I can't even contemplate updating to 8 without getting the playlist problrm solved.
For no apparent reason, some months after moving my library to an external drive, following one or another "For Dummies," after syncing, all the playlists disappeared from my ipod (though not from my computer).
I suspect that I need to move something else between C-drive and external K, but can't figure out hoe to do that. Since I have 125 GB on the ipod and a 60 GB C-drive (and a 320 K-drive) there's a lot I could mess up.
I REALLY need my (many many many) playlists back on the ipod!
Thanks so much for any help you can give.

  • DP Package content missing after recreation - Unique ID - Package does not exist

    Hello Forum!
I deleted some content of a Deployment Package "Windows 7 Monthly Updates" manually, because of some changes in our Update Structure and redownloaded with a new ADR the new content. But now I receive errors in Configuration Manager Status Message
Viewer (SMS Distribution Manager) that Content doesn't exist.
"The source directory "\\Server$\UPD\Windows 7 Monthly Updates\3b7fc36f-fab9-4ccb-9372-08b696f6a192" for package "XDC00050" does not exist. The operating system reported error 2: The system cannot find the file specified. "
The Package is not missing and contains now many other Updates, but it seems that SCCM still remembers the old ones, before recreation.
If I just recreate the Folder with the Unique ID and redistribute, another Unique ID will shown. And If I remember right the Source Folder contained more than 100 Subfolders (unique ID's).
The DP Package contains now the new Updates and the old ones are not needed anymore.
Now I need really a good advisory.
What is the fastest Options to stop the errors (to tell SCCM 2012 SP1) that this Updates are no longer needed (deleted)?
    Best Regards
    Marcus

Thank you for your fast answer.
But If I delete the Deployment Package, I am sure it will be missed by the ADR, or?
Can I move the ADR to the new Deployment Package or will I have to recreate the whole Structure (ADR, Software Update Group, DP etc.)?
    Best Regards
    Marcus

after I opened the project. I keep backups every few hours so tried to open earlier backups but those sequences are just missing as
they have never existed ! This is really scary because all my efforts for the past few weeks are gone. As I am on a Mac,
I tried to use Time Machine to go back to ex-version and found all my timeline/sequence are still there in my
project. I wonder if this is a bug in the latest version, I guess I will stay at ex-version for a while anyway.

Hi.  I have just started using Premiere Pro CC and have experienced this exact same issue.  I was continually saving the project after spending quite some working on it.  When I closed the project and went back into it the next day, the timeline sequence was completely missing.  Can you confirm if this is now a known issue and is there any way I can get my work back?

  • How to recover photos if they seem to be missing after iPhoto update ?

    MacOSX
    OSX Version 10.8.3
Processor 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    iPhoto
    iPhoto '11 version 9.4.2 (710.42)
    Problem
    1. Updated to iPhoto version 9.4.2 through the app store.
    2. Didnt not check back after the upgrade was complete. Checked last week when trying to import photos from my camera and realised photos dont appear in the events/photos/faces anymore
    3. iphoto library under User -> Pictures -> iPhoto Library still contains all the photographs under Masters folder
    4. trying to recover photos by Alt + Command + iPhoto and selecting option 3, 1, 2, 4 ; one at a time in that order
    5. Nothing seems to be happening apart from the white light circle (dont know what is it called)
    Question
    1. How long does the rebuild database option take. My iPhoto Library is 17.55 GB only
    2. I do not know if repair db, repair permission, rebuild thumbnails options did anything. I am stuck at rebuild databases? what else can I try ?
    3. Finally - Can I have a step by step guide to get the photos back in iPhoto
    Additional Info
    1. No, I do not have a time capsule/machine backup. But I am hoping I wont need it since I can find my photos on the harddrive itself.
    2. I can see Library6.iphoto under the iPhoto Library package
Happy to provide any other information if required.
    Thanks
    Himanshu

    1. That's not a known limitation to me, and more likely indicates how corrupt the database was.
    2. Ditto.
Given 1 & 2 above, how could iPhoto "recover itself"?
In any event, the obvious, cheap and fast solution to this is a back up. Time Machien comes free with every Mac. Set it up. Thereafter it's automatic. Suitable for all but the very very lazy. Alternatives:
    Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
    Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate

  • Files missing after mavericks update

some of my sensite files were hidden inside my system folder, and are now gone after the mavericks update. how can i recover them?

The view from the command line in Terminal.app is the canonical source for the files on a system, so I'd confirm that the path matches your expectations — you can drag file or folder icons from the Finder window directly into Terminal to get the path visible — enter a # to prevent accidental execution, then drag the file or folder icon right to the input line in Terminal — and confirm you're where you think you are.
Check that your date and time and your time zone are set correctly on all systems.
Per Apple, do not log directly into the server console with a network account.

  • External drives went missing after Security Update 2015-002

    I'm running late 2009 iMac 27" with up-to-date Mavericks (10.9.5).
I just ran the Security Update 2015-002 and now:
    - my external Firewrie drive won't show up (WD MyBook Studio II 2TB)
    - my external USB drive won't show up (WD MyBook Studio 1TB)
Both drives show up perfectly on another Mac (with Yosemite). Just not on this one.
Tried the usual, repaired permissions, reset pram, etc.
Any help would be great please

    Try resetting the SMC:
    Reset SMC
Run each of the following steps in this order before you reset the SMC.  Test the issue after completing each troubleshooting step to determine if the issue still occurs.
Press Command + Option + Escape to force quit any application that is not responding.
Put your Mac to sleep by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Sleep. Wake the computer after it has gone to sleep.
Restart your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Restart.
Shut down your Mac by choosing the Apple () menu from the upper-left menu bar and then choosing Shut Down.
    Reset the SMC
as per > Resetting the System Management Controller
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
    3. Wait five seconds.
    4. Attach the computer's power cord.
    5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
FWIW, this reset also works for tripped overload protection on the USB and FireWire ports.
