Content rejected messages...

Haven't made any config changes for a week. New problem, just started a few days ago. Customers are receiving the following:

Message
content rejected, UBE, id=11010-01 (in reply to end of DATA command)
I shouldn't be rejecting anything, everything is set to forward to a quarantine address that I maintain. Here is the postconf -n:

It didn't happen out of the blue per se. It was just the first time you were hit by a message that triggered the finalspamdestination which happens to be D_REJECT.
In essence there are several levels (for details see above link) which trigger different actions.
First you have mail below the chosen spam score. Those are just passed on to the user.
Next you have mail above the spam score but below kill_level. Those are marked as spam and passed on to the user or deleted (depending on your settings in Server Admin).
And last but not least, you have messages above kill_level, which trigger the action set in finalspamdestination.
As a rule of thumb, never bounce or reject spam. It just creates backscatter. Just discard it.
Messages are sent via SMTP and enter the system through the MTA (Postfix). Postfix will, depending on your settings, do a first check and decide whether to accept a message into the queue or not.
If accepted, it will hand it over to amavisd (Content Filter). amavisd will, depending on the settings, hand over the message to ClamAV for virus scanning and to spamassassin for spam checking. Depending on the result and settings, it will either discard the message or re-inject it into the postfix queue.
Postfix will then deliver it to Cyrus for storage in the users mailbox, where the user can acces it via POP or IMAP.

Alex

  • 2010 - Hide recipient's friendly name in moderated rejection message?

    Hi all,
Our organization just went through a bit of a virus scare. In response we implemented a policy where any ZIP attachments are moderated in order to prevent any other infections from being sent to anyone in the organization via email.
My worry is that the rejection message shows the full display name of the original recipient, which reveals more than I'd like to. The last thing I need is to give someone a higher chance of getting their identity stolen.
I'm running Exchange 2010. Is there any way to customize the rejection message or even just to not show the recipients or the full display name?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
According to your description, we can deploy a transport rule with condition: when any attachment file name contains text patterns, then we can catch messages with attachment file types by adding the file extensions to match in this condition. For example
.EXE , .ZIP. At last set the rule action to bounce the message.
However that this only inspects the attached file name and not the attached file contents to determine the file type. If your goal is to prevent viruses by filtering out specific attachment types, regardless of how the file is actually named, then you may
want to employ the attachment filtering agent in Edge server instead. More details about
Understanding Attachment Filtering, for your reference:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124399(v=exchg.141).aspx
Note: the system generates a delivery status notification (DSN) failure message to the sender and we can customize your rejection response.
    Best Regards,
    Allen Wang

  • Exchange 2013 - The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the configured threshold

Noticed at about noon that no emails had been received all day. Began to investigate and found that the MS Exchange Transport service had been set to deny email submission because it was using too much memory on the server (91%).
The error message makes me think that we may have been getting used by malware or something similar.“The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the
    configured threshold.”
There are also several warning messages that list particular IP addresses and say that a connection from that IP was denied because there were already the maximum number of connections (20).
From what I can tell, all of the IP addresses are from Taiwan.
The time period for which some emails may be missing is from close of business yesterday ( 4/3/2014) through about 12:45 today (4/4/2014).
From the time I spent reading and trying to figure out the error, I think we may need to readjust our throttling policies to prevent this from happening.
The exchange server is currently running at 90%+ CPU and 50%+ memory usage the majority of the time, and I’m not sure how to fix it.
Also, I cannot get into EMS I get a access denied message from the destination computer. (Exchange server) I want to get into there to change the throttling policy back to default, since we disabled it.
    The Error reads:
The WinRM client cannot process the request. The WinRM client tried to use Kerberos authentication mechanism, but the destination computer <Exchange> returned an 'access denied' error. Change the configuration to allow Kerberos authentication
mechanism to be used or specify one of the authentication mechanism supported by the server. (How do I do this?) To use Kerberos, specify the local computer name as the remote destination. (I'm trying to use EMS while logged into the local Exchange server)
Also verify that the client computer and the destination computer are joined to a domain. (Exchange is on our domain, and the computer trying to connect is the same computer) To use basic, specify the local computer name as the remote destination, specify
Basic authentication and provide user mane and password. Possible authentication mechanisms reported by server.

I assumed control of this exchange system already in place and I do not have much experience with exchange 2013 or server 2012. I do know 2008, but that doesn't help very much in this situation.
    Recent changes to the system:
About three days ago we switch our sessions policy to allow many more connections, and I believe this caused the issue. This is what I changed it to:
Made the registry DWORD (32-bit) "Maximum Allowed Sessions Per User" and modified the value to 1000. Location of registry change @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
I just changed it to 10 from the 1000. I'm hoping this solves this. So far no.
Also, I am not the best in the shell or command line interfaces. Any help would be wonderful!

    Hi,
Yes, could be hardware performance issue. Try recycle the Transport process and see if the issue persists.

  • Load remote content in messages (Mail)

    Hello All,
Iv'e just upgraded to Yosemite today, and so far, so good, a few teething issues.
The biggest problem I have is with the Mail App.
I just can't get to see remote contant in Mail messages (using my Apple iCould account)
I had no problems in Mavericks, did a straight upgrade.  I have tried Preferences -> Viewing -> Load Remote Content in Messages,, but the images in messages just won't show.  I am being presented with little boxes and question marls in the place holders of the images.
I have tried to toggle on/off whilst restarting the mail app, but no joy.  This is a real deal breaker for me, as mail is probably the main app I use.  And having to click the links to open the image in a web browser is a show stopper.
Any help here would be much appreciated, just to add, I had no problems with the Mavericks mail app. This is installed on my Mac Pro (mid 2012) and I'm reluctant to upgrade on my Macbook Air at the moment.

    Bingo!
Stupid me… This was the reason it didn't work for me. Thanks!
The rule in Little Snitch that broke the images was this one:
    /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail
    Deny any outgoing connection
    Process Owner: Me
On 06/02/2014, Mail tried to establish a connection to static.avast.com on port 80 (http). The request was denied via connection alert.
I guess Mac OS X 10.10 somehow toggled this rule!?
Thanks again, the rule has now been deleted :-)

  • I have an Iphone 3Gs. I need to get contents of messages that were sent and received on the phone in June for evidence in court. I read online that the Iphone internal storage keeps all data done on phone in the storage. How do I get into it?

I have an Iphone 36s. I need to get contents of messages that were sent on the phone in June of this year. I read online that the phone has an internal storage that keeps all data when phone is used and that this internal storage can be accessed. I need the contents of particular messages for evidence in court. How do I get into the internal storage? I've tried some of the methods that people post online, but none of them have been successful. Help!

If you still have a backup from that point in time as part ofr your computer backup history, you could restore the backup folder, restore the phone from that backup and have the messages on the phone.
More details about restoring from old backups can be found here: iPhone and iPod touch: About backups

If it's possible, please restore this functionality back to the way of OS 6/7, which put the content of the SMS in the body of email, since I do rely on this feature heavily.
    Leo
How exactly are you trying to forward an SMS as an email?
You can forward the SMS to an email address of your choice and that`s when your SMS will be converted to MMS, and sent to the email address of your choice . The recepient should get your message as "[email protected] carrier.com
Another way of doing it is to select "Share" instead of forward. Then a list of options will open that includes your email address. Select your email address and the selected text message will be added as "body.txt" and after this, you just have to enter the recepient email address and subject line (optional).
The recepient will receive the email with a "body.txt" attachment that can be downloaded and open in or with the "Notepad" on PC

It should be the "service name" for the inbound adapter in the composite. Here is the doc link which explains this: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/integration.1111/e10231/life_cycle.htm#TKADP187.

  • How to handle rejected messages in file adapter

    Hi....! every one.........
in file adapter read operation it will pick the files even the file contains unstructure message but that file wont be processed.
    where the rejected message goes.
i have requirement like that rejected message i have to store in another file
    please provide me answer..........

    Hi,
You can add the parameter 'PhysicalErrorArchiveDirectory' in the JCA file (of the File Adapter).
Put there the required directory where you want the rejected file to be sent.
You can add this property in 2 ways:
    1. In your JDeveloper open the JCA file and add: <property name="PhysicalErrorArchiveDirectory" value="/../.."/>
    2. In EM, right click the composite->Service/Reference Properties->Choose your file->On the Properties tab press Add-> Choose 'PhysicalErrorArchiveDirectory' and put the directory-> press Apply.

  • How to store the rejected messages in bpel using file adapter

    Hi all,
I am using the file adpter to read the text file.In file some bad messages are there.
now i can read the correct data.but i can't view rejected messages.
if im not using "rejectedmessagehandler" , but it is stored in default directory.
In my application, correct messages are reading but bad messages are not stored in default directory.
pls can you help on that rejected messages store

    Hi
You have to define rejectedMessageHandlers in activation agent part of ur fileadpater in bpel.xml.
    ex:
    *<activationAgent*
    className="oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent"
    partnerLink="UrPartnerLinkName">
    *<property name="rejectedMessageHandlers">*
file://YourFolderStructure (Where you want to save your rejected messages... Only folder structure)
    *</property>*
    *</activationAgent>*
If u have any rejected messages those will be written to a file named as INVALID_MSG_ + process-name + operation-name + current-time in the above structure

  • Performance impact of Content based message search in IE

    Hello Experts,
I am working on implementing Content based message search in IE in PI 7.0 and PI 7.1 landscape.
All the configurations are done and its working fine in Development scenario.
I need help in identifying , how this actually works on technical level as in how the messages are getting searched based on the filter criteria, if there is any table getting created in background and values are getting stored etc.
And also how could this impact the overall performance after implementing it in Production system.
    Thanks in advance!
    Warm Regards,
    Lisin

    Hi Lisin
Not sure about 7.0/1 but for 7.4 these are the tables.(most probably tables should be same)
When you configure a filter for UDMS search on ABAP stack(Tcod: sxms_lms_conf)
Entries will be created in the following backed ABAP tables. (you can go to se16 and check the entries).
    SXMS_LMS_EXTR
    SXMS_EXT_FIL
    SXMS_NSPREFIX
Data will be stored in this table
    SXMSPDATA
When you configure a UDMS filter in RWB(java stack), entries will be created in the following backend tables
    XI_AF_LMS_EXTRACTR
    XI_AF_LMS_FILTER
Data will be stored in the table (only the message id, direction, key field, value and position)
    XI_AF_LMS_DATA
We have UDMS configured in our production system, and i never saw any performance issue.

  • File Rejected Message Handler in ESB

    Hi All
    I have installed Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 + 10.1.3.4 patch-set + MLR#5 on 3 servers:
    1) Unix server A
    2) Unix server B
    3) Windows XP server
I have developed an ESB which is polling a file from an FTP in a particular XML Schema.
I have also set "rejectedMessageHandlers" in ESB FTP adapter's .esbsvc file.
So its set to rejectedMessageHandlers=/server/dhami/files/rejected on UNIX server A and B AND
    rejectedMessageHandlers=file://C:/oracle/Files/error/esbHandler in Windows XP server.
Now when i provide a wrong XML file as input, say myXMLInput.xml it is rejected.
Issue is that in Unix Server A and Windows XP server, rejected file name comes as myXMLInput.xml,,
but on Unix Server B it comes as INVALID_MSG_********20090607_090132_0806.dat
Can anybody know the reason of that difference in behaviour? All the 3 environments are at same level.
    Please Help.
    Thanks
    -- Inder

Hey guys, issue was that UNIX Server B was on MLR#5 patch level but dont know how it was rolled back to MLR#1.
So the issue resolution is that UNIX Server B too should be upgraded to MLR#5.
Then the rejected message files will come in as myXMLInput.xml and not as INVALID_MSG_********20090607_090132_0806.dat
    Thx

  • MQ Adapter does not clear the rejected message from the queue

    Hi All,
I'm using a MQ Adapter to fetch the message from the queue without any Backout queue configured. However, whenever there is any bad structured message found in the queue, MQ adapter rejects the message and moves the message to the rejmsg folder but does not clear it off the queue, as a result of which it keeps retrying the same hence, filling the logs and the physical memory. Somehow we do not have any backout queue configured so I can move the message to blackout queue. I have tried configuring the jca retry properties and global jca retry as well but to no avail.
    - Is it not the default behaviour of MQ Adapter to remove the rejected message from the queue irrespective of Backout queue is configured or not? The same behaviour working well with the JMS and File Adapter though.
    - Is there any way I can make MQ Adapter delete the message from that queue once it is rejected?

It tried to send as an SMS but gave the 'green button reject message'.(no money)
Step 2 in this stupidity - the phone keeps trying to send the deleted text via SMS and wont stop notifying me of this. Totally ruining the functionallity of my phone, and more so totally annoying. All I want to do is stop the constant re-trying of sending the deleted SMS.
    Any ideas?
    Many Thanks!

Hi, many thanks for your help - Pressing and holding sleep/reset hasn't worked, the msg is still continually reporting it is failing to send. I can restore to a previous version however I'll lose my paid apps. Is there any way to work around this. I'm only concerned about one app - Epocam HD which I purchased last month. My last backup on PC is 4 March 13 - before I bought the paid app - Itunes advises me I'll have to re-pay to get my apps (app) back. Even though it advises that icloud backed up this morning at 1:30 am (which although it is before the text, I cannot manually select this restore).
    What a mess!
