Content Server. Create fields information

Good.
The question is the following one:
From the administration of content server -> Applets of administration -> Manager of configuration -> fields of information, i create a new field of type tree.
Once created, I press on " Editing Tree " and the navigation for the created tree is correct, acceding to the respective nodes of the tree.
The problem is that when I realize a new revenue (Check-in), ONLY I can sail along the tree along the first level.
Some suggestion?

You need to
1)Make sure that the metadata field that you would like to add to the revision history table is available on the DOC_INFO page
2)Change the interface so that it adds a new column to the revision history table and includes the metadata value
You will need to do this in a component there is no other sensible way
To achieve 1) you will need to override the existing Query that gets the revision history info this is (IIRC) QrevHistory
To achieve 2) you need to override the include found in the location descibed my malky.
This should give you the result you want

Dear All:
I need to know how can I configure content server website on IIS. Our company was working on standalone server 2003 with MaxDB 7.6. Now the server has been migrated into windows 2003 cluster with MaxDB 7.6 installed on the same cluster.
I tried to execute WebSiteManCS.exe from content server CD but i got the error "An error occured during the creation of the SAP Content Server website in IIS".
Could you please advise how can I resolve this issue? Also, I did not created IIS cluster on both content server nodes. Do I have to create it or is there any steps that I have to follow in this case?

Error in Jdev with connection to Oracle Content Server

Hi,
I have installed my Oracle Content server on a remote linux machine and using Apache webserver with it.
I am using Jdev drop 8 build 2d and creating an application trying to connect to the Content server creating a Content repository connection of repository type 'Oracle Content Server' and it tests successfully. I use this connection on my jspx page with Document Library.
The jspx runs properly using the connection .
But after this if I try to work with the connection object ,say use it on anoither page, it shows loading but does nothing further. If I go to the connection properties and test again it fails with message 'Test failed : null' and gives an error message as below while closing the properties window:

If I restart my Jdev and test connection again (without any changes to the connection) it succeeds but fails again after running the application.

BAPI for copying a file to Content Server

We have a scenario where we need to transfer a file into Content Server, create a link to the document in Content Server to a tcode through ArchiveLink, and create a link to the document in Content Server through a third-part application.
Is there a BAPI or RFC that takes the document as input and returns a link to the document in Content Server?

a.when we uploade original file to DMS ie tc-CV01N through data carrier as 'PC' for front end, which is prerequisit for
identifiying original file path.
b. Now whil saving DIR, we need to Check in to secure storage, ie, using Storage category, ex DMS_C1_ST. this will save as document as logical document. here interesting is acuall phisical conten is stored in Conten server as your case ex Z_DMS.
So SAP DMS is made for Secure storing of originals.
Q?is, how to pass PATHS for this during Uploading, using tools ex LSMW.
In LSMW we can upload originals to DMS.
but i don't know it works for Archive linking.

I need to create a PDF file from a spool ID and store this in a repository on the content server (archive). How can I do this without creating a physical file on the local workstation?

Create a content repository with storage type FILE archive.

Set the 'Content R' field to the one you've just set in the step above.
Note the Ret.per. field is the retention period for the photo in MONTHS. (so the default is 833 years and 3 months!)

Am trying to build a Webcenter Portal application with the help of a tutorial. This requires to upload files to Content Server and use these files to build the app. and to link the navigations for menu and sub-menus.
I have checked in the files manually into Webcenter Content but when checked for the Content Information, metadata fields like Tags, Page ID, Websites etc are not displayed.
These fields are necessary to relate to the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) query used in application.
The tutorial link am referring to is : Connecting to and Managing Content Repositories - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.0)
Content Management system server version is: 11gR1- 11.1.1.7.0
Please let me know if am missing something.

How to create Discussions Task Flow Based on Oracle Content Server

Hi,
I need to create an ADF application consisting of the following aspects:
1) Upload, Download and Share documents (I'm using Documents Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
2) Create discussion threads and forums (I'm trying to use Discussion Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
3) User should be able to do an universal search i.e search both documents and discussions forums. (I'm using Search Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
I'm using "Oracle Content Server 10g for WebCenter" to manage my documents and discussions. While logging into GUI of OCS, I'm able to create and post discussion threads.
But, I'm unable to create discussions adf task flow based on Oracle Content Server.
The demos/tutorials/dev guides provided at http://webcenter.oracle.com have only described using WLS_Services managed server which is created and setup using WC Suite 11g.
But I couldn't find any information to develop these discussion services using Jdeveloper WebCenter Extensions and Oracle Content Server.
Please let me know, if anyone has tried this or if you have any idea of how to go about it.

Problem while creating Oracle Content Server source in SES

I am Integrating Oracle SES with UCM.Both UCM and Oracle SES are installed on the same machine.
I have installed SESCrawlerExport compoent on UCM and also taken Snapshot of Repository.
But when i am trying to create Oracle Content server Source in SES, it gives following exception.

Thanks very much, Roger. That's very kind of you. The answer was very helpful. I've changed the host and realm accordingly, and altered the Authentication Type to BASIC (previously NATIVE).
When I now try a crawl of UCM, it fails and the log file provides the debugging info listed at the bottom of this message. I've tried to research the exception type and have experimented by altering a few configuration values, but have so far failed to resolve the issue. Are you able to hazard a guess as to what could be causing it?

Creating documents with SCMS_DOC_URL_CREATE in SAP Content Server

Hi there,
I have a Problem here with the Knowledge Provider concerning SCMS_DOC_URL_CREATE and hope anyone could help me out.
For a SAP Records Management document I am calling BAPI_SRM_DOC_CREATE and get a LOIO and a PHIO ID for my new document. The PHIO-ID I pass to SCMS_DOC_URL_CREATE which then creates the URL to put the file on a SAP Content Server with a 3rd party tool. That works totally fine and I can see the file on the Content Server with its metadata,
Unfortunately SAP Records Management doesn't recognize that a file has been uploaded. When I open the file in the transaction ORGANIZER it has no content and no components.
Is there any function call I am missing to tell the Records Management document that I have uploaded something?
All is working fine when I get the uploaded content into NetWeaver with SCMS_GET... and call BAPI_SRM_CHECKIN_DOCUMENT. But of course this is not what I want (transferring the file directly in the local network area where the content server stands, then getting it back to NetWeaver and back again to the content server).
Any help would really be appreciated.

Answer: because SCMS_DOC_URL_CREATE is not remote enabled by default.

Save attachment on content server and create a document link

Hi All
I have the following requirement:
1. We have an attachment
2. We are creating a parked document number.
3. We need to place the attachment on the Content Server
4. We need to create a link b/w the parked document number and the attachment which is available on the CS.
Could anybody please let me know how to place the attachment on the Content Server & how to establish the link b/w the parked document number and the attachment which is available on the CS?

Error Displaying Portlet Preview created from Content Server templates

I created portlet from content server announcement portlet template.Whet put on the page this portlet shows the following error message:
Error Displaying Portlet Preview.Error Getting Content from Portlet.
Same error with portlet created from the news template.

If the link exists in TOA01, why is the dosumnet not visible ? When i use the Function Module ARCHIVOBJECT_DISPLAY, i get the error -
Error when opening document with HTML control:DP_ERROR_GENERAL
Can someone please let me know what are we doing wrong ??

How to create custom java class in Content Server

Hi All,
I want to develop a custom java class (.class) file and upload in the UCM(Stellent Content Server). The problem is that I have to use some objects like DataResultSet, SharedObjects etc in my java class file. Since these class files resides in the Content Server I am not able to create a custom java class with these objects.
Can any one help me to solve the above issue

Hey there,
All of the core content server class files are included in a single jar file. This jar is in one of 2 places in the 10gr3 version of UCM:
1. If you have an unpatched content server include $IntradocDir/shared/classes/server.zip in your classpath
2. If you have a patched content server include $IntradocDir/custom/CS10gR35CoreUpdate/classes.jar in your classpath.
In UCM 11g the jar file is located in %MIDDLEWARE_HOME%/Oracle_ECM1/ucm/idc/jlib/idcserver.jar

Problem while creating Oracle Content Server Identity plug-in in SES

I am Integrating Oracle SES with UCM.Both UCM and Oracle SES are installed on the same machine.
I have installed SESCrawlerExport compoent on UCM and also taken Snapshot of Repository.
But when i am trying to create Oracle Content server Identity plug-in in SES it gives following exception.

If the error message is correct, it means that no listener is running on port 100.
Where did you get the URL http://localhost:100/idc_new/idc ?
Is UCM using port 100 as it's standard port?
What happens if you try to open this in a browser (running on the localhost machine)?

I think it is somehow related to your other question - pure renaming (that is. changing the text of the field's label) should not have an effect what-so-ever, but you probably somehow changed something in a required parameter, so that it is empty now.
